Timeskip has been posted. You don't need to write out the test with Robinson. Your posts do not need to be in alphabetical order. You can also interact with other characters, or go for the Eignhard lesson. Once everyone who wants to write the Robinson scene has written the Robinson scene, we will move on.

 

The basic level Robinson is looking for is a rudimentary movement/conjuration of the element. There's not really a hard limit on what your character can do, since there's not much you can do with like, two ounces of water.

 

Notes on elements:

 

Water: Shotglass and water (from water bottle). Robinson has napkins on standby under the table, which is draped over with a plastic tablecloth.

 

Air: A small pinwheel. Blowing on it is considered cheating.

 

Earth: A dollop of clay. Clay is easier to shape than sand or rock, but your character may choose to bring their own earth (or pick some off the ground).

 

Fire: A candle. Use of it is optional. Robinson also has a fire blanket under the table just in case things get out of hand.

Fun Fact: I collaborated with TUM on my most recent post to ensure it was fine, but during our collaboration, my internet screwed up and erased my progress on a 2-3 hour post.

In regards to the subplot I created in the IC with TUM's collaboration - Which is actually divided into two parts called the Ghost Story and Nightmare arcs, Nightmare being TUM's idea to call it - this subplot will be open to a select few, mainly just TUM and I for now.

 

As the RP progresses, more people will be messaged either by me or TUM which says that they should/may begin experiencing nightmares as they desire or see visions. There is actually a REASON behind both things, and the reason has to be obeyed or the story is ruined.

There's a reason Freyja doesn't see them either.

This is just for future reference.

Sam is fairly tall, standing at 5'9", with long arms and legs. Black plastic-frame glasses sit over his light-brown eyes, and his jawline is sharp. Fluffy black hair reaches just past his earlobes, and just tickles his forehead in the front. Spending time outside playing frisbee has tanned his skin a bit, and he has just a bit of tone; though he's lean, so no rippling biceps to flex for him.

 

As for attire, his preferred articles of clothing are jeans (or shorts, if it's warm) and a T-Shirt. In the cooler conditions he wears a light grey sweatshirt, and no matter the weather, he always wears a navy blue baseball cap. If the occasion calls for it, he will wear nicer clothing. And, of course, he wears the academy uniform. To a casual onlooker, Sam looks friendly, laid back and approachable.

 

Personality:

For the most part, Sam is a pretty casual person. He has a laid-back and cheery attitude about things, often trying his best to look at things in a positive manner. He likes to help out and work with people. He has a fair sense of strategy, but he isn't the go-to person for it. He is a bit more on the extrovert side, so he is perfectly happy with making friends, goofing off and changing his voice to make people laugh. However, he is absolutely terrible at comforting people who are down, or calming people who are well beyond pissed. Not to say he won't try, but he is rarely successful.

History:

Sam was adopted by a married couple as a small kid, just reaching one year old. The couple didn't want to give birth again, but they did want to raise one more child, and their two children kept begging for a little brother. So, Samuel was welcomed into the household.

The kid was very adventurous growing up, always excited to go to places he'd never been to before. This mostly consisted of the little nooks and crannies that he was told not to go into that he crawled into anyway. He didn't necessarily like being punished, but it never stopped him. He also loved to play pranks on people; drop a bag of paint on his brother's head, put water in his sister's clear nail polish or dead spiders in her bed, cut the boxers of that senior ****boy to ribbons. The one time he was caught (in school) he came home with wet hair and snapped glasses...

One of his favorite places to be was his grandfather's house. The man was a jokester who spoiled his nieces/nephews and had a terrible hoarding problem. Every room except the kitchen was stuffed with all sorts of junk from over the years (the living room was less clogged with stuff). Sam would spend hours just exploring all the boxes, finding stuff that was dated over a century before. He found DVDs and VCRs of various cartoons and animated movies, and was awed by people who could make themselves sound completely different. After some practice, and over time, he could bend his voice into several goofy and serious tones. As well, all the music stuff heightened his interest in that field.

When word of the exam into Heaven's Gate made it to Sam, his old adventurous side poked it's head again. He had to convince his parents that he would be safe, that demons wouldn't kill him, yadda yadda. And so far, there hasn't been too much danger. The past year has been pretty chill, but he's hoping that there'll be some serious excitement with the new year.

It's mostly a deep orange with a swirl of maroon.

Weapon:

His weapon is fairly simple; dual identical blades. It's not all bedazzled, a curved silvery blade with a brown hilt. Down the center of each blade is a purple streak.

Armor:

His armor sports a color theme of red-and-white. He wears a white baseball cap that has two red wings on each side, trimmed with yellow. The main articles of clothing his armor consists of is a long-sleeved turtleneck jacket and sweatpants. The jacket is mainly white, with red streaks going down the sides of the sleeves. The pants have something similar, and red trim around the cuffs. His boots sport wings similar to his hat.

Other:

His Branch is located on a bedazzled wrist band that generally sits on his right arm. It has all sorts of little beads and bejewlies and stuff artfully placed over his first year.

Update has been posted. Probably going to make this lesson a quickie, since it's not as structured as the last one and I'm making a horrible mess of this RP's pacing. I really want to punch some demons, you know.

 

Second years have this morning free and some of them are either helping with the first years, or watching them catastrophically fail.

I just finished two sheets- I'll post my third one later, I feel like she will need some work. (That and I'm a weensy bit tired.) Here goes~

Romantic Orientation: Heteroromantic

Appearance: Lavender stands at about 5’6”, with long red hair that reaches to about her waist when it’s straight and playful, feline silver eyes. Her skin is a light olive, because of her German/Italian heritage, and Lavender’s hair naturally falls in soft, loose curls. When straight, her longish bangs frame her face and are parted to the side. When they’re not straightened (which is typically never), she keeps them held back with bobby pins. Typically she wears her hair in a ponytail unless it’s a special occasion. When she wears her school uniform, Lavender wears her element ribbon to hold her ponytail. Lavender has a heart shaped face.

Lavender has an athletic build, due largely in part to her high levels of physical activity. Her arms are lean and strong thanks to her love of archery. She has double-lobe piercings (first set are silver hoops and the second set are silver posts) on both ears and a helix piercing (another silver hoop) on the left ear. She also has a small stud on her right nostril, courtesy of her mother. (birthday present)

Typically Lavender likes to wear skirts that reach to her knees or a little shorter, and sometimes she will wear pants if she really feels like it. Her shirt of choice is a tank top with any sort of cardigan/overshirt over it. It depends on her mood. Lavender also likes to wear black combat boots or ankle boots with heels. Sometimes she also likes to wear flats when she’s lazy.

Personality: For starters, Lavender is a strong, confident girl due to her upbringing. She has a sharp wit, and she’s not afraid to speak her mind. Of course, she tries to hold back when she knows it’s going to get her into serious trouble. She’s not afraid to put up a fight either, if she has to. Not that she particularly likes to get into fights on purpose, that is.

Lavender is very sporty- you can oftentimes see her in her spare time working out or playing soccer… Or shooting at the archery range. Archery is her all-time favorite sport.

Although she’s good with the bow and arrow, she doesn’t particularly like hunting. Don’t get her wrong, she loves meat… With a passion… But she would much rather get meat from the store or have someone bring venison to her place in neatly wrapped packages. Something about cleaning and gutting an animal kind of freaks her out.

In her alone time, Lavender likes to write songs. There is a wastebasket next to her desk that is filled with rolled-up paper balls from the time she spends trying to make the songs perfect. Then she’ll try and make up a melody to sing and play on the piano (or try. She can barely play the piano). Lavender appreciates pretty things, and even though she tries to be tough, her room is very neat and aesthetically pleasing. She has a cork board with pictures of her friends, a lavender plant on her desk… And she likes her room in shades of purple.

When it comes to other people, Lavender can be very friendly. Unless you outright disrespect her, she won’t harass you or try to make you feel insecure. But when you make her angry, the talons come out. Typically to anger her, you have to attack at her friends and family, her hair when it’s humid (that’s something you never, ever, ever mention), or try to break her heart.

Lavender is also a serious foodie, so it pains her to eat healthy and maintain her weight. Of course, that doesn’t stop her from having a good cheat day...

History: Born to Mari Weber-Calabria and Giovanni Calabria, with her twin brother Lucas, Lavender grew up in South Carolina. She shows great pride in her Southern drawl, and doesn’t mind if you make fun of her about it. Her mother is a professional chef, while her father is a teacher at a middle school in Charleston. Both have been sure to reinforce Lavender’s confidence over the years, but gave her room to try and become her own person. They weren’t super strict and they let Lavender make many of her own choices. That being said, however, they were sure to enforce the rules of the house and punish especially awful behavior. Lavender is pretty close to her parents because of this.

In school, Lavender wasn’t really popular, but she had a tight-knit circle of friends. They told each other anything. She was also an athlete, which helped to keep her in shape and make more friends. The Archery club, Creative Writing club, and the soccer team were her extracurriculars of choice.

Growing up, Lavender was a little bit timid because she had to move schools when her father got his job in Charleston. When she made friends, it was rare. But said friends were bullied a lot, as was her brother. At the time Lavender was afraid to stand up to them, which made her curse herself but also grow more confident. She wanted to protect her friends, which was why she got into Archery- because it would make her strong. It proved beneficial, and she grew less and less afraid to stand up to jerks. Up until middle school, she was a bit of a tomboy, but she decided that she would start to dress more feminine once she reached high school, as she had wanted to continue to break out her shell. She decided to take the exam for Heaven’s Gate Because she wanted to face new demons, literally and metaphorically. Lavender is always open for a new challenge.

Element: Fire

Branch Color: Red with a fire-colored starburst pattern in the center, in a similar fashion to a star sapphire.

Weapon: Lavender uses a basic bow and arrow, with little accents of gold throughout the wood. The nocking point is a small amethyst that, if it comes into contact with her Branch, can send a small flame to the head of the arrow. Because of this, her arrows are built with a special magic-conducting channel inside them. The grip of the bow has etched lavenders on it, with a lacquer finish.

Armor: Her armor is rather light, since she typically uses long-range attacks. Her torso is covered with a light purple breastplate, and the rest of her actual armor is on her arms and legs up to her thighs. However, much of her body is covered by a strong silver stretchy fabric. On her head is a light silver helmet with a slidable mask over her face.

Other: Lavender keeps her Branch on a gold chain on her neck.

She also speaks fluent Italian and a little bit of German. Also, she doesn’t really curse- Lavender just doesn’t like cursing.

Age: 16

Romantic Orientation:Biromantic

Appearance: Peridot, who is Greek and French, has semi-spiky medium length, rich black hair. He has bangs that are dyed green and are always partially in his face. His skin is a dark olive, almost tan color, and he has wide green eyes that are framed with black glasses. The frames of his glasses are thin metal. Perri’s jaw is long and sharp.

He stands at 6’1”, with a lean build and well-toned muscles. When he isn’t in his school uniform, he often wears blue jeans and T-shirts, usually green. His sneakers are dark green Converses.

Personality: Peridot usually comes off as a relaxed, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. He has a very kind heart, but he’s a bit of a pacifist. Violence is just about the last thing he would resort to, unless he absolutely needed to. Obviously in the academy he’s going to have to fight. But for the most part he’s a pacifist.

One of his favorite past times is reading. It’s gotten him out of a lot of bad situations. He’s also pretty timid, rather afraid to speak his mind about things. But when he does, he has this charisma about him, which makes him a pretty sweet negotiator. He can also rap. Freestyle. He enjoys cooking as well.

History: Peridot was born in New Jersey to Henri Chevalier and Amaryllis Doxiadis. His parents were gentle, raising him with a firm sweetness. They were authoritative, more willing to talk to him about what he did wrong as opposed to yelling at him.

In school he was bullied quite a bit, sometimes violently. It got to the point where he couldn’t say a word around them, hence his now shy demeanor. Eventually he started reading religiously, as reading was his form of escape. Reading as much as he did, he started to learn to communicate and later on talk his way out of bad situations. When he was about ten his aunt and uncle on his father’s side passed away, leaving his little cousin Rosette behind. Rosette was adopted into Peridot,s family, and Rosie (who is now six-ish) is now like a sister to him. He is very protective over her and will go against his own morals in order to keep her safe. He decided to take the exam for Heaven’s Gate because he heard of the dangers of the demons and wants to protect Rosette from their wrath.

Element: Wind

Branch Color: Green like a peridot, yo.

Weapon: His weapon is a slingshot that will propel a small ball of air forward. It is made of sycamore and has an emerald green elastic. In the ammunition pocket is a little pocket where he can place his Branch in, so as to get a small ball of wind ready in as little time as possible.

Armor: His armor is just a little heavier since he may have to engage in hand-to-hand combat. Peridot wears full emerald green armor, but it’s still relatively light, with a thin layer of steel chainmail in between plates of armor.

Other: Perri wears his Branch as a lapel pin on his school uniform. He speaks fluent Greek and his French is decent (but barely enough to survive in France.)

@mika: Lavender looks good! But you'll have to pick one weapon out of slingshot/shuriken/dagger for Peridot. Ammo doesnt need to be carried, he can simply create it. Are they both first years? If so they would have attended all the events that have happened so far. I'll update the lists bjt you're good to start with Lavender.

Appearance: Standing at 5’10”, Rose has pale skin that burns too easy, long red hair, and blue-green eyes highlighted by black eyeliner. Their hair falls past the small of their back, filled with unruly waves, and kept in an untidy braid at all times. Shorter strands consistently fall in front of their face. A storm of freckles covers their cheeks, pointed nose, part of their neck, and along their collarbone to their shoulders. Rose has full lips that are frequently painted with maroon lipstick. Their face is angular, possessing sharp lines that give them an unfriendly appearance.

Buildwise, they have an athletic body with toned muscles and quick reflexes. Much of it is contrasted by the curves they have; a D-cup breast size and curvaceous hips. The tight clothing they wear accentuates their hips while similarly trying to diminish the apparent size of their breasts. If they aren’t in their school uniform, then they’re wearing leggings, tank tops, crop tops, jeans, or whatever else they feel comfortable in. The silver-chained anklet on their right foot is the only constant across their outfits as it holds their Branch.

Personality: Rose comes off as the strong, silent type and with due reason. They hardly talk, especially if they don’t see the need to. They much prefer to listen though and can often be found hovering at the edges of conversations or simply sitting with someone going through a rant. However, their outward appearance doesn’t easily convey their willingness to listen, instead giving them a withdrawn or disinterested demeanour.

They are very action-oriented, striving to get a job done sooner rather than later. Rose does love a good plan and is patient enough to see one laid out, often repeating a planned course over in their head a few times. They do, however, have their moments of impulsiveness and can sometimes rush something too much before it’s ready to happen. They aren’t looking for perfection to begin with but they really don’t enjoy having to start something over.

Rose is stubborn and sometimes possesses a hot temper if they’re passionate about something or other. It’s a little tricky for them to quit or relent when they realize they were wrong a lot of the time but, eventually, Rose comes around. It’s even harder for them to admit when they’re under too much stress or in need of help off the battlefield. They want to do the best they can and that sometimes colors their opinion about admitting when they can’t do something alone.

History: Rose grew up with their aunt and uncle, not remembering what happened to their parents. Instead of telling them the truth, their aunt and uncle continuously made up a new story each time they asked. Eventually, Rose stopped bothering to ask. Their schooling was fair, a majority of it done in a co-ed boarding school with separated dorms. Rose’s education was well rounded with a variety of electives but none of it truly interested them to the point of wanting higher than C’s or B’s for final grades.

Since Rose never talked a lot (something their aunt and uncle couldn’t really figure out, it just was), they didn’t have a large social circle. Not bothered by that, Rose was content to float from circle to circle, listening to the conversations and just simply surrounding themself with voices.

When Rose learned about Heaven’s Gate Academy, their curiosity got the better of them and they decided that they had to try. Who didn’t want to fight the demons after all? That first year had its bumps but it also had its successes - enough that Rose was willing to continue for a second year.

Element: Fire

Branch Color: An orange, crackled stone with hues of red intermixed.

Weapon: Halberd

Armor: Somewhere caught between a heavily armored knight and a war-worn rogue, Rose’s armor possesses a tattered brown scarf that drapes over their left shoulder. On their right shoulder, a tarnished pauldron wraps around the joint and is made of two visible layers. Their forearms are protected by tarnished, unadorned bracers while brown biker gloves cover their hands, leaving their fingers exposed. Their torso is only partially covered, a stretch of black cloth with a red rose on their right breast, concealing their chest but leaving their stomach bare. Around their waist is a brown cloth, knotted by their right hip so that the excess fabric drapes down to their knees. From beneath the cloth at their waist, a dark red coattail trails down behind them to their calves, split into three segments partway down with two tarnished oval plates protecting their hips. Over the black leggings that hug their hips down to their ankles, tarnished shinguards lead into heavy metal boots.

Other: They are a second-year student.

The stats are outdated now but I rearranged the cast list and drew portraits for Elliot, Priam, and Erika (still need Sam, Lavender, Peridot, and whoever else gets added). Alphabetically, the bottom of the list is just five earth stems in a row (it's going to get broken up by Rose, though).

 

I'll take a look at Rose tomorrow, Narvix. Pretty tired right now.
