Hi, I'm new here, and I've read the FAQ and there is a question that I want to ask. In the encyclopedia, it doesn't show the dragons I raised, and it tells me to observe or raise and adult. Can anyone help me? sad.gif

You have to view or raise a certain number of dragons to unlock the breed images. Some dragons, such as Terrae or alt Blacks, also have alternate forms which have to be viewed to unlock the alternate-form breed images.

I'm guessing your scrollname is the same as your forum name? It doesn't look like you've raised enough dragons to unlock breed images for anything yet. Try clicking a lot of random adults on others' scrolls and see what happens.

My scroll is linked in my signature. I have a lot of dragons, including some alts and such, so if the thread isn't enough feel free to visit my scroll too. smile.gif

If I bred eggs to the AP today, when will they show up in the AP - about a day and a half from when I bred them, since the AP is hovering around five days and some hours right now? I'm irrationally excited for people to start picking them up. xd.png (I bred some G2 holidaykin, a bunch of reds, and some other pretties.)

You'll have to wait a bit longer than that, unfortunately.

When an egg is picked up from the AP for the first time, it gains a day. The eggs in the AP are shown with this extra day already added, although the time isn't actually added until the eggs are picked up.

If you visit an AP egg's /view/ page, you can see its "true" time left. I checked a couple of random eggs near the bottom of the AP and they're actually at 4d 20h, so you'll be waiting about 2 days, give or take a little.

Hmm, OK. That's not too much longer. I think I'll go breed more BSA dragons for people. Thanks!

After the eggshell disappears, yes. :3

Thanks!

That gives me a chance to try Enrage too.

Does mass breeding have a purpose? Like, does it help with rare ratios or something? Just curious.

Some people say yes, some people say no.

See what you make of it !

My trade offers don't seem to be up to date. When I go to the teleport page, I can see my offer still standing even if it has been declined already, and when I try to e.g. influence an egg that is included in the (now non-existent) offer, it doesn't show up on the list of influenceable eggs. I can see the actual state of the teleport only if I click my offer on the /teleport page, often to find out that it does not exist anymore, which is pretty annoying. I don't have this problem with my own trades; new offers from other people show up on the /teleport page just fine.

That's usually when someone accepts another offer or cancels their trade without declining yours first. Has always been like that ...

I was on hiatus for a long time and came back last Dec. I left when coppers were fairly new and I don't have much of them.

I recently found out that in order to get a specific copper color as an offspring, you need to breed them with a mate from a specific biome. Is my understanding correct? What if you breed the copper with an "old", pre-biome dragon whose location merely states "Cave"?

Are there any other breeds that behave similar to this? That have a dependency on a biome? I'm seeing more biome-specific wishes in trades lately.

According to the wiki, the rules are basically the following: if the Copper is the father, then the Copper offspring will be the corresponding to the color of the Coppers that can be caught in mother's biome(so e.g. if you breed a male green Copper from the coast with a female Nebula from the desert, the Copper offspring will be brown, but if you breed the same male Green Copper with a female Nebula from Alpine the Copper offspring will be red). If the egg was caught before biomes were added, then it will be the color of the father. If the Copper is the mother the offspring will be the same color as her

There's a pretty good section on breeding results in the Wiki entry on the Copper Dragon. In general the offspring color depends on the biome of the mother, whether she is Copper or some other breed. A pre-biome dragon mate will give the Copper color of the Copper father.

Xenowyrm breeding is also somewhat related to their mate's biome. There was a whole thread devoted to trying to figure it out and the proven result of all the research is in the first post in that thread. It is also in the Wiki article on the Xenos.

I suspect that there will be other breeds in the future whose breeding pattern somehow relate to the biomes, but those are all I know of for now.

My friend has 3 adult GONs, but they are all female, and we were wondering if she releases one will she be able to summon another which she can then influence male? I am pretty sure I remember reading something about it being possible, but obviously she wants to make 100% sure before releasing one. Thanks in advance. smile.gif

She should be able to summon another if she releases or kills one, yes. I seem to recall hearing of a user who has successfully summoned many GoNs because their pastime is releasing one every so often.

Please note that I am not 100% sure on this as I've never done it, but I am 99.9% sure. tongue.gif

I wouldn't bet on a kill as they're not being completely wiped from database for the past... it's got to be at least a year now? I think there are a few lurking around with such experience. I may try a search for past posts in a bit, just to double check.

Release should work fine to summon another, though.

I thought only zombified GoNs still counted toward the limit, and normal kills didn't once the two weeks was up? I'm curious now.

I think this is the case. Once the tombstone is off your scroll, it's off your scroll and the space is freed up again. Zombies are what would keep the slot, so fortunately we have a way to get rid of those now (expunge).

All in all, I would still suggest releasing it rather than killing it. It would just be faster and less of a hassle that way, I think XD

Names still aren't being released from dead dragons because dead dragons aren't being cleared, AFAIK, so dead dragon behavior is a little... iffy.

Did a little searching of past posts. Found confirmation for release working to be able to summon again.

I found a post from Oct 2014 (most recent I could find) where someone confirmed that they had killed a GoN and were not allowed to summon another. The breed limits page still linked to the dead one - which they had killed in May. After that I asked for clarification from TJ, and he confirmed that if a GoN egg dies, another summon can be attempted, but it wasn't the same case with adults.

(I searched in help and SD as well as some old topics no longer publicly viewable.) If you've got more updated information, please let me know so that I'm not spreading false information!
