Posted April 11, 2017 DT: Woo! You're welcome! Rainbowlight: Ah, okay. So nicked ears, scarred chest, and a slashed eye. Can't be too hard, right? Hm... wounds can be difficult to draw at first... Most people treat them like tattoos, I've seen, unless they're the uber-realistic artists; then again, those people boggle the mind with their skills. My guess is that injuries are either forgotten a lot during the drawing process (I've done that plenty of times) or people just find them unsightly and/or difficult to draw to begin with. I personally think scars add a lot of character, but eh. irrelevantindigo: Neat critter. o: It gave me a surge of inspiration! ...and now I'm all tired. Oh well. Posted April 12, 2017 (edited) Indigo: Absolutely! Anything with my signature on it can be used however you please! Heh, those bones turned out awesome. Those horrible skeleton doodles were worth it! Rainbowlight: I'm worried I didn't make her feline enough (been a while since I drew an actual cat), but how does this look? Oh yeah, I should also ask: do you want the avatar to be a cropped version of this, or to have it shrunken as much as possible? I'm guessing the former since otherwise too much detail might be lost. Posted April 12, 2017 ! The fangs! I saw them on your avatar but I wasn't sure if that was a feature or something the artist just decided to throw in (we like to throw things in a lot). A friend of mine pointed out that the face and the paws could use some editing, so I'm not opposed to giving it some tweaks to make it more cat-like and to include that little feature... though now that I think of it, the fangs might not be visible at that angle unless they're saber fangs, so I might give it a full redraw so I can address everything at once. Definitely more cat in this one: I remember you mentioned wanting it as a new avatar, so I shrunk it down, and...! My art hates being shrunk. But I made a headshot for you as compromise, at least: We all forget the little details. I have one antagonist (that I have yet to draw), and even though I write about him post-death I keep forgetting there's a giant scar in his chest... you know, that caused him to die in the first place... Posted April 14, 2017 Gonna request my fox oc His name is Northern and he has a regular fox pattern except his tailtip is black. And he has light blue eyes. He wears a firefly jar on his neck. Preview is a little small for this guy... Its antlers are so luminescent I.. wow. So pretty. One thing I notice is it feels like he has one wing (a gorgeous wing though)? Might just be the angle lol. Sorry but I just really needed references for some of my ocs. And I can't draw some of them. Y'know Rainbow, lots of people get into art to create references for their characters. If you're struggling to get a handle on art, you can search around DeviantArt for bases (like this or this)and just color them in the mean time. (Be sure to give credit to the artist of the base if you do that though!) Truth is, all of us can't draw to start with, but you just have to practice until you can. Art comes naturally to no one. I'm certain if you start drawing and seek good concrit, you'll be able to draw your OCs and whatever else you'd like someday. Posted April 20, 2017 If you're requesting a lot of art from one artist, it would be kind to offer them some sort of commission. If you can catch, breed, or create desireable eggs/creatures on DC, that's a good option for young users here. ^^ skwerl is amazing, so it's no wonder you really like and click with her art and style. :> Share this post Link to post
Posted April 26, 2017 Belated update! I'll be on and off sporadically now that summer chores have rolled around, but hopefully it won't interfere with my time to draw. Time to update with rampagingwyvern's next OC! She hasn't responded via PM yet, so I'm hoping I got it right. Still have issues drawing cats, hah hah; you'd think living with them would help with that. Oh gee, thanks guys! :'D I've added your next request Rainbowlight, and I definitely think you should get into drawing too! You might find you have a nice cartoonish style that works for games like Season After Fall or Child of Light (by the way, found some screenshots of said glowy fox and he's a cute little thing! Makes me want to play the game!), so it's definitely worth branching out your skills. I used to only be good at birds and dragons, until I tried drawing other things; your first sketches will be embarrassing but it's only temporary if you work at it! (Don't be me and not practice, that's problematic.) To add on to what Sock said, if you want you can try grabbing eggs for my wishlist; I have dragon breeds I'm missing on my profile page, but most of them are rares at this point. Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) Well i've been drawing in a while, and my style is cartoonish. (can't still figure out a way to make a difference between felines and canines with my style) I love it, but my friends (bullies to be exact) said it was very ugly. My other friends like it tho.
