Posted December 25, 2014 (edited) Several people in the Solstice Sprites thread mentioned that alternating the Solstice sprites each year would be really appreciated. While it would extend the stretch between breeding same-winged sprites to two years instead of an already very long one year, it might be an interesting dynamic and allow for interesting lineage patterns to emerge. It doesn't, however, address the problem that this year people bred Solstices hoping for the rose-winged variant to form checkers, for example, but as I understand it, the biggest recurring issue is the potential exclusivity of the sprite, and this would combat that. I have no idea if that has the potential to be a majority-accepted compromise, though, so this is the suggestion thread for that option. Have at it! Other Solstice sprite related suggestions: - Solstice Dance (BSA sub-forum; Solstice BSA) - BSA to alter solstice phase - Solstice Sprite Idea (sprites determined by timing around/on winter solstice) ------------------------ Note: I'm not fussed about this particular suggestion, but I would like to see a compromise solution of some form for the people sad about the situation with the Solstice sprites... so I want to make sure this idea was also represented in the Suggestions forum. I'll try to keep the first post updated with pros and contras in a timely fashion! Posted December 25, 2014 Odeen, please, have some rest and enjoy the holiday, forget these stress for a while, then feel free come back to tell us the reason, if you will, or perhaps there is no specific reason, just of design-wise. As far as I can tell from the history that's been given and what looks like a development thread, because she had submitted both sprites and left it up to TJ. It's hard to do anything if your not told what you think you need to know. I don't mind the color change, since I have 2 CBs, and I don't plan on breeding mine. But - it looks like TCA's idea (my favourite from day 1 !) - somewhat modified by Odeen and TJ - may be on the cards, so hurry to support it: https://forums.dragcave.net/index.php?showtopic=165489 But I still don't see why a creator should be expected - however gently - to give us information which I gather will show up in the encyclopaedia in the end - and given that she was clearly working on a solution to this issue with TJ the whole time, I can TOTALLY get why she didn't !
