Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) The News thread is clogged with a lot of back and forth over whether this is a good feature and there is already a thread to help people find lots of dragons to 'observe', but there isn't really a place yet (as far as I can find; mods, close this if I accidentally duplicated it) to talk about the cool information we're finding out about our long-beloved breeds! Here are the breeds with notes so far, courtesy of angelicdragonpuppy (hidden behind white text in case people missed the memo that spoilers are in this thread): Balloon Black Blacktip Blue-Banded Canopy Carmine Copper Daydream Deep Sea Dorsal Ember Gold Harvest Hellfire Horse Imperial Fleshcrowne Magi Nebula Neglected Pillow Pink Purple Pygmy Red Royal Blue Silver Skywing Speckle-Throated Spitfire Spotted Greenwing Striped Sunrise Sunset Two Headed (Split) Undead (Zombie) Water Waterhorse White Chicken So far, I'm fascinated by the fact that there are apparently sea bees that Water dragons eat and that Waterhorses apparently have something against starfish. What wacky things have YOU found? Hopefully we don't have to keep putting everything in white text to hide spoilers and people who don't want spoilers just won't read this thread, but for now I'm doing it out of consideration. While I'm no mod and don't want to be one, please don't use this thread to complain about various technical aspects about the Encyclopedia; there are suggestion threads and the news thread for that. Posted October 23, 2014 The one breed I couldn't check last night also has info; please add Undeads (Zombies) to the list! I really love how white hatchlings practice doing rescues; so cute! Although the wording of the adults "May heal other breeds (or provide services to humans) in exchange for favors" seemed odd to me; I figured Whites would just jump to help everyone all the time. Maybe it just means that they SOMETIMES ask something in return, but not always? Otherwise my Whites are just super nice Also a lot of extra love for Coppers, I've always liked their family oriented nature and it just gets sweeter and sweeter as I unlock more. And man, stripes sound so LAZY X___x;; Share this post Link to post

Since 2008 I've had descriptions about greedy Whites who charge 50 gold pieces for any treatment Edit: found enough hatchies in hatcheries to get the next bit of information. I absolutely love this, I have so many descriptions to write to incorporate a bit of all this new information ^^ Edited October 23, 2014 by Mirhana Share this post Link to post

Posted October 23, 2014 I think the breed info for Waterhorses absolutely adorable. I mean, I liked them already, but this info has honestly moved them up to perhaps my favorite dragon species. Do Nhiostrifes have breed info? Share this post Link to post
Posted October 23, 2014 Personally I find the last note (that I unlocked anyway) for Chickens hilarious. Found the notes for Magis about apparently teleporting themselves funny too. Also would never have imagined that Balloons are like mockingbirds, the whole mimicking animal sounds thing. The note about white colored Nebulas makes me wonder if that might potentially be a new alt form. Also, Neglecteds ended up being more hardy and adaptable than the breed description makes them sound. Anyway, was great to see extra info on breeds with very vague/short descriptions, like the Golds. Would love to see info on the Cheeses and Papers. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 24, 2014 Striped dragons catching food by simply holding their mouths open is just adorable. Hellfire wyvern ranks go alpha -> beta -> omega. Just, you know, forget the rest of the alphabet. These guys are so inferior that they're as last as possible. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 27, 2014 Wow, hellfires are straight up NASTY. O___o Encouraging hatchlings to bully each other, eating people, even killing their mates? Dayuuum, son! I'm glad much of their behavior seems to be learned, as otherwise I don't think the rest of my clan would let them anywhere near them ;; Share this post Link to post

Posted October 28, 2014 You have to click 500 adult chickens to get all their info. littleblackdog has over 500 adult chickens on their scroll. Actually half their scroll is chickens. Here is the chicken info (whited out for spoilers. Highlight to see.): Gallus gallus domesticus Found in: All habitats Observations Hatchling Behavior Chicks are extremely fluffy before feathers grow in. Adult Behavior Appears to be fully domesticated. No roosters seen, only hens. Due to the lack of roosters, hens lay unfertilized eggs. Eggs make great omelettes. Seriously, where do they come from? Several dominant birds will often have priority when it comes to food. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 Adolescent dragons are able to show more advanced control of magic than most humans. About Magi hatchlings. I found this very interesting. We must really trust our dragons to be able to collect so many so powerful. Share this post Link to post

Posted October 29, 2014 There's one thing I noticed, not sure if this is a mistake or not: Yellow-crowned dragons are called Suncrowned dragons in the encyclopedia. Has there been done a renaming which still has to find it's way into the description of the dragon? Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) Instead of looking at the encyclopedia (I'm gonna just call it 'bestiary' no matter what), I just played with the bestiary URL and started at 1. What was added to the list? Well, whether it shows up or not in the encyclopedia or not, are these: (Okay, there are a couple that I didn't unlock yet, though there is only one grayed-out sprite if I look at my own bestiary) I did it in white as other people for spoiler reasons. Two-Headed Dragon Two-Headed Lindwurm Albino 4: Unknown Breed Balloon Black (adult and both alts available) Black Tea Blacktip Bleeding Moon Gilded Bloodscale Blue-Banded Two-Finned Bluna Blusang Lindwurm Bright-Breasted Wyvern Brimstone Brute Canopy Carmine Wyvern Cheese Chicken Holly (Holiday 2007) Yulebuck (Holiday 2008) Christmas (Holiday 2009) (only gold-wing sprite so far, pure white not yet) Ribbon Dancer (Holiday 2010) Winter Magi (Holiday 2011) Wrapping-Wing (Holiday 2012) Solstice (Holiday 2013) Coastal Waverunner Copper (all three sprites) Dark Green Daydream 32: Unknown Breed Deep Sea Dorsal (both sprites) Duotone Electric Ember Falconiform Wyvern Fever Wyvern Flamingo Imperial Fleshcrowne Frilled Geode Glory Drake (Day) Gold Shallow Water Storm (Gray) Green Spotted Greenwing Guardian Golden Wyvern Pumpkin Black Marrow Shadow Walker Cavern Lurker Grave Harvest Hellfire Wyvern Hellhorse Horse Ice 62: Page Not Found Water Guardian of Nature Lumina Magi Magma Mint Moonstone Nebula (both sets available) Neotropical Nocturne Ochredrake Olive Paper 76: Unknown Breed Pillow Bright Pink Pink Prize (Western)... in other words, "Tinsel". Either that or he was working his butt off then said to himself "Wait, did I skip one?" or maybe he didn't notice. But I guess from this point on we won't be able to figure out upcoming dragon release names by looking at our own unlocks and the page number in the URL, can we? Posted October 29, 2014 I'm using the encyclopidea as an excuse to not do college work and catch up on descriptions I find it a shame my beloved flamingos don't have more information yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll get some soon Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 Well, on my overview page, all breeds appear unlocked. Thus, I can say that 32 is the Undead Dragon (which means Zombie), while the other two are "unknown" for me, too. Maybe those are reserved but yet invisible for future releases? 4: Unknown Breed 32: Unknown Breed 76: Unknown Breed Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 Good to know, thanks Ruby Eyes! Did clicking on tombstones reveal the sprite? Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 They show up for me in the morning until high noon, due to my timezone. Thus, I clicked most of them as dragons and got them unlocked this way - so I cannot tell. I wonder if the Nocturne outlines in the encyclopedia will show differently depending on the daytime ... Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 Yeah, I was actually hoping for day/night sprite differences too. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) Good to know, thanks Ruby Eyes! Did clicking on tombstones reveal the sprite? I can confirm this. Although I'm in Europe I haven't been clicking dragons during DC's night time, or didn't find any durign my clicking time. I only saw them durign the other times. Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) What I like about Coppers is that they are adventurous and playful as hatchlings. Also, SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS I might start a lineage just about that . Spoilers in white. I don't think we need to hide info after the first page Edited October 29, 2014 by Tmi489 Share this post Link to post
Posted October 30, 2014 There's one thing I noticed, not sure if this is a mistake or not: Yellow-crowned dragons are called Suncrowned dragons in the encyclopedia. Has there been done a renaming which still has to find it's way into the description of the dragon? It's their breed-sort name. When you use "breed sort" you may notice that they don't sort where they should, would they be sorted after their public name. There are quite a few dragons which don't sort by their "public" name when sorted by breed: Avatar of Change sorts as "Lugiaavatar" (sorts between Avatar of Destruction and Avatar of Creation) Avatar of Creation sorts as "Lugiaavatar" (sorts between Avatar of Change and Lumina Dragon) Avatar of Destruction sorts as "Lugiaavatar" (sorts between Guardian of Nature and Avatar of Change) Day Glory Drake sorts as "Glorydrake" Dark Myst Pygmy sorts as "Pygmy-DarkMyst" Coastal Waverunner sorts as "Coastalptredrake" Crimson Flare Pygmy sorts as "Pygmy-CrimsonFlare" Gilded Bloodscale Dragon sorts as "Bloodscale" Golden Wyvern sorts as "GWyvern" Gold-horned Tangar sorts as "Tangar" Guardian of Nature Dragon sorts as "Lugia" (as a reference to Pokémon) Imperial Fleshcrownes sorts as "Fleshcrownes" Night Glory Drake sorts as "Glorydrake" Misfit Pygmy sorts as "Pygmy-Misfit" Neglected Dragon sorts as "Sick" Nhiostrife Wyvern sorts as "Twister" Nilia Pygmy sorts as "Pygmy-Nilia" Red-Finned Tidal Dragon sorts as "Tidal" Shallow Water Dragon sorts as "Goldfish" Shimmer-scale Dragon sorts as "Prize 2012" Spotted Greenwing sorts as "Greenwing" Tinsel Dragon sorts as "Prize 2010" Two-Finned Bluna sorts as "Blunas" Two-headed Dragon sorts as "2head" Two-headed Lindwurm sorts as "2headcrypt" Water Dragon sorts as "Light-Blue" Yellow-Crowned Dragon sorts as "Suncrowned"Dinos Blue Dino sorts as "Yoshi-Blue" Green Dino sorts as "Yoshi-Green" Purple Dino sorts as "Yoshi-Purple" Red Dino sorts as "Yoshi-Red" Yellow Dino sorts as "Yoshi-Yellow"Holiday Dragons Valentine's Day Valentine Dragon sorts as "Valentine 2009" Sweetling sorts as "Valentine 2010" Rosebud Dragon sorts as "Valentine 2011" Heartseeker Dragon sorts as "Valentine 2012" Arsani Dragon sorts as "Valentine 2013" Radiant Angel Dragon sorts as "Valentine 2014" Halloween (Vampire Dragon is the only Halloween dragon which sorts by its given name "Vampire Dragon") Pumpkin Dragon sorts as "Halloween 2009" Black Marrow sorts as "Halloween 2010" Shadow Walker sorts as "Halloween 2011" Cavern Lurker sorts as "Halloween 2012" Grave Dragon sorts as "Halloween 2013" Christmas Holly sorts as "Christmas 2007" Yulebuck sorts as "Christmas 2008" Snow Angel sorts as "Christmas 2009" Ribbon Dancer sorts as "Christmas 2010" Winter Magi sorts as "Christmas 2011" Wrapping Wing sorts as "Christmas 2012" Solstice Dragon sorts as "Christmas 2013" Share this post Link to post
Posted October 30, 2014 Ah, that explains it Although I would have expected the encyclopedia to only use the "official" names for the dragons, as in the names that appear in the official descriptions. That'd be more logical for me. After all, the other names aren't widely known (as far to my knowledge anyway). Thanks for your explanation! Share this post Link to post
