Who keeps breeding one egg to abandon? Massbreed

Other mass breeding events I've been thinking of suggesting (not until holidays are over, though):

Hybrids

P2Ds (pygmies, 2heads, drakes)

Checkers (maybe also allowing any even gen with a pattern like rainbows and purebreds of a certain gen)

 

Thoughts? Which of these would you participate in? Which would you be glad to pick up from the AP?

 

I'd probably just start one thread and rotate through each of the ones I decided to do so that we didn't have three new massbreeding threads floating around.

Not the biggest fans of two heads and drakes, but that's just me personally. Would love to see som e pygmies, hybrids and checkers!

You wouldn't have to breed all three, but I'd be keeping all three in the event together as the idea is to spread love for restricted breeding groups. o3o

Why exactly do people mass breed?

I can see how it's amusing for them, but for the rest of us, I find it frustrating to stare at a wall of Storm Dragons. :I

I would actually love a wall of Storms! (Or Reds, hehe.) Also, massbreeds can help straighten out cave ratios for common dtagons and lower the AP time.

Considering storms are the dragon to raise for the holly contest this year, I'm guessing a lot of people would appreciate that. xP

I do not find walls of the same dragon in the AP frustrating. They tend to be great hunting grounds for lineages. Me love! Plus, it's not like there isn't plenty you can still do even if you don't like single-breed massbreeds: bite those AP dragons and create vamps, grab eggs and hatch those eggs to help clear the AP (can re-abandon or maybe use those hatchies for trading purposes), breed your own dragons, and catch from the cave.

I'd participate in a Mass Breeding of P2Ds! I'd pick up a lot of Drakes when they hit the front of the AP.

I would love a mass breeding of checkers and other planned EG lineages, but I would also participate in the other events.

 

And if someone needs EG PB Red-Finned Tidals for some reason, 58 of them are on their way to the AP.

(Not sure if they're Leviathans or Lindwyrms, but definitely not Westerns. Just saying.)

I just used Storms as am example.

I get that you can go breed your own dragons and wait for the wall to go way, my question was /why/. Why is "getting a wall" in the AP a goal? Is it like a trolling thing?

Most eggs during these AP walls are not only common or unpopular, but also inbred. So why??

Inbreds are good for freezing. There are those whose scroll goals do include freezing.

I have to say I also find walls to be mostly annoying. To me it's absolutely pointless, even when taking freezing into account, since there are almost always plenty of messy or common eggs for freezing in the AP anyway.

 

The only useful massbreeding I can think of would be something like the Holiday mates massbreeding planned for September. Or if someone (or a group of people) would actually go to the trouble of breeding uncommons and rares. But, as previously mentioned, it's usually commons/ultracommons. And I don't buy the "helping cave ratios" theory since a positive impact (if any) can only be temporary.

 

Then again, it's only a game so I don't let myself get too annoyed over it.

Massbreeding does knock down the overall AP time doesn't it? I tend to only catch anything that's incuhatchable because I'm lazy and constantly egglocked.

I quite like massbreeds. And commons. I just want to bloat my scroll with dragons, basically.

The rest of us don't want to look at a wall of messy,inbred Flamingo Wyverns for two hours. Why is it even a thing? There should be limits against mass breeding.

No, walls do not lower anything. What happens is that people do not want to pick up inbred Flamingos or whatever and leave them there until their time is low enough. For example, if a wall hits the AP with 5d10h left and (almost) nobody picks up eggs for 10 hours, the unwanted eggs will be 5d00h and ready for incubation, so at that point people pick them up. It is not the massbreeding that lowers the time, it is the fact that people do not pick eggs for hours.

Anyway, I used to be okay with planned/scheduled/targeted massbreeding and fervently against massbreeding of inbred etc. Now, I could not care less one way or the other. There's Pokemon GO.

That is what I mean by walls lowering AP time. They also make eggs behind them tick down while the wall is not being picked up.

I don't see why to not pick up eggs for 10 hours, because I do not want them, would be better than to pick up eggs I want at 5d10h and keep then in my scroll for 10 hours until I can incubate them. But hey...there's no accounting for taste

There are players who get locked lots, players who might need to shift dragons faster, newbies with incubates, etc. Some people would rather pick up low time eggs. Rhses people would rather have an ER AP. Also, more people pick up teally low time eggs...
