Valentine 09 with tan.

Sweetlings? Possibly with blacks and whites if I get mates for them. If not... stairstep maybe?

Rosebuds? No idea so far. I'm torn between ice, trihorn, moonstone, gold and golden wyvern.

Don't have any newer valentines, so I'll focus less on breeding more on fishing interesting lineages out of AP

I've only really done random pairings in the past, and I kind of like Waterhorses with both Sweetlings and Rosebuds.

I have two 2nd gens that can do checkers, '09 Val x Pink Sweetling x Pink. With my CBs, I'm definitely doing Rosebud x Terrae and maybe Heartseeker x Pillow. Not sure about my Arsani, but probably Daydream, since I breed everything with Daydreams. If there's no limit like on Christmas, though, I'll be very tempted to just breed everyone with Daydreams so I can have checkers. :3

I haven't really thought about it actually, but if limits are lifted I hope to convince some alt val owners to breed with speckles so I can make pretty checkers (even if I have a reg val).

For my Sweetling, I'll either do this or simply continue the stair.

 

I've been doing this with my Heartseeker, but IDK.

 

I do Rosebud x Shadow Walker and I'm breeding my Arasanii with a CB Spring and IDK what else. I've been doing Flamingo but I might try Pink or White Stripe or maybe Bleeding Moon.

It all depends on if TJ lifts the limits. No matter what I have a full vday set I am breeding for someone so they are picking the mates.

 

If we get to collect more than I will breed my heartseeker with a white to keep, then a 3rd gen 09 stairstep with something that matches spring, sweetling x black, and a rosebud x lurker to trade in for 2nd gen heartseekers x white. I will also need to catch a heartseeker or sweetling with a holly mother.

 

If we still have limits then I will try and gift or trade with what people pick as their lineages

I think for my CB Vday dragons will be bred with CB golds, silvers, coppers. whatever looks good. and one lucky male Vday will be bred with my CB holly. My non CB will be bred with whatever will work best for their lineage.

Depends on TJ lifting the limits here. But I'd like to make a 3rd gen checker, Sweetlings with Tan Ridgewing. I was able to trade for a 2nd gen sweetling last year, but my CB sweetling hasn't given me a tan ridgewing egg :<

Heartseeker: I like them with Golden Wyverns but I'd also like to try Royal Blue and one of my two Heartseekers will be paired with a Solstice this year.

Arsani: I just LOVE the combination Arsani x Black so that's probably what both my Arsanis are doing.

 

Rosebud: One will probably keep her Moonstone mate, the other one will be paired with a mate to be determined by the friend I'm gifting the offspring to.

 

Of the other breeds I don't have CBs.

I got none CB one since I missed the last valentines release and the years before that I wasn't even in dragcave but I'll try to do checker with my sweetlings once I find 1 or even 2 silver eggs from sweetling x silver

I love looking at everyone's ideas. Based on what i have seen here I think I will pair my Arsanis with Springs and my Alt Sweetlings with Speckle Throats (never thought of that combo, but I love it!). I am not sure yet what to do with the others.

hmm... I have never actaully made pairs with mine before, well permanant partners anyway... I have a cb sweetling and a cb '09 valentine.

 

I think a Blusang would be nice with the sweetling and an Ice would go well with the 09... but sadly I have not been able to get a cb ice ... hoping I can find one, or get a good trade some where for one.

 

Had a very kind person gift me an ice ^ ^ so my sweetie will have a playmate yeay

All my valentines are CB except for the Val'09s. So I generally keep my CB valentines open for trades where I will breed them with whatever the person I am trading with requests. However, that said....

 

When it comes to Val'09, I like how their colors compliment with Purple and Sunrise, but this year I am getting a Val'09 from Blacktip which I am really excited for (and as you can see already planning 3G checkers for next year ). In fact I like it so much that I may breed my Arsani also with Blacktip!

 

In the past I have really liked the Sweetling x Sunrise combo. But this year I am intrigued by the possibility of Sweetling x Solstice, so I might do that.

 

Heartseekers are the ones that I really don't have many ideas on. Last year I bred mine with White, so I might do that again. Or maybe Silver. Will have to think more on that.

 

I like reading you guys' ideas here. It gives me perspective that I don't always see, so I think this is a great thread. Thank you!

Other than my 09 (who's offspring I think is spoken for) and my arisani I don't think I'll be breeding my other valentines this year.

 

This sweetling is an all holiday lineage. If limits get lifted I'll be searching for some holiday x holiday 's that I can later breed (in a season) so that he may have a mate, but I don't have one now

 

This other one may be doable, going to have to search though.

 

My rosebud requires a nebula. Perhaps I'll try trading for this, but unfortunatly I'd need the neb to color right.

 

My one heartseeker is with yet another uncommon, not sure if I can find one by breeding time >.<.

I will follow their lineages as I have only one CB Valentine.

My favourite one is Sweetling x Gold though. I have one 2G Sweetling and they will look amazing! ♥

 

As for Arsani... I think I'll pick either pink, white, blusang, black or silver (if my CB gender male).

Well, the only CB Valentines I have are Arsani, which I may pair with Wrapping-Wings--I did that at Christmas and I liked the effect. I may also do one with a Lurker, since I like the dark pink and the purple together.

 

Heartseeker--Both of mine are 2nd gens, one from Shadow Walker and the other from Balloon. I have the proper mates now to do 3rd gen checkers, and that's what I plan to do.

 

Rosebud--I have one 3rd gen checker from GW, which I love but don't have a mate for. I plan to use a 3rd gen GW x Marrow for that one. The other is a 2nd gen from purple Nebula--not sure what I'll pair that with yet.

 

Sweetling--I have one 2nd gen from Moonstone that I'm going to make a 3rd gen checker with, and one 2nd gen from Alt Sweetling x Silver, that I really don't know what I'll breed to this year.

 

09 Valentine--Both are 2nd gen from Red, not sure what I'll breed them with yet.

 

Theme: 3rd gen checkers and uncertainty. I need to do some figuring, and soon...
