The Characters

The Leftinant

The ship was silent and yet again, she was longing to see Alabaster. No matter if he ignored her or was off in some war, she would have been happy for a companion. He was at least a friend if nothing else. Now the white walls and the vines showed nothing. No one emerged from the red doors or investigated the ship. Silence echoed, making everything empty save for perhaps the low hum of the TARDIS Matrix. Only a year ago, this was a battleship; the most glorious ship you would ever see. Maybe she shouldn't have gotten rid of everything. Well, there would be someone along. There was always someone to come and visit her. Maybe they would not be enemies. Maybe they wouldn't be Narsekkians or young men in vests and bow ties. For now, there was only the silence. She retrieved a violin displayed proudly on the wall, sat, and began playing.

Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock lounged in his and John's old flat lazily, like he wasn't supposed to be dead. He would stop by every once in a while, when he was sure neither Mrs. Hudson nor John would be home. He missed normal life, missed the life of mystery-solving with his best friend. No one knew he was alive-not including Molly. She was the only one who helped him fake his own suicide, and the only one that knew he wasn't dead. Sherlock didn't plan on staying in the flat for very long; he was only there to pick up some things. a few changes of clothes, his coat, and his prized violin. The average passerby could hear the sweet violin music escaping the open window, but thought nothing of it. The detective paused to check the time, and quickly packed up his things. Time to leave before anything happened. Silent as a shadow, he slipped out the window, dropped into an alleyway, and melted into the darkness.

The Situation

You are someone living on Earth or any other number of places in the universe. In some ways, you feel that your life is unfulfilling. Even if you work in a high-paced job or have many friends, things are as common as can be. You may not even realize it. However, you need not fear. You have been presented the chance to become companion to a person of Timelord influence or perhaps several other cults. This time stream is so generous that it will even allow you to side with the villains or become one yourself. A word of caution about the bad ones, they are bad. You will have to work hard to become one of them or perhaps they will literally make you become one of them. Now, you have found your way to a planet called earth in the year 2013. It is likely that you are a native, but aliens are no strangers here either. This is the part where you meet me.

-----

This Role-Play is done by episodes within a respective story arc that has been created. For instance, you may have a giant mystery that needs to be solved and that is the arc. All of the episodes will focus on a place or aspect of that mystery. When that aspect is solved, we move on to the next episode until everything is revealed and resolved. One thing you should also know is that there are writers for these and I'm always willing to take in new creative minds. I do ask that you are up to date on the revived and/or classic Who as well as send me an example of your writing style. However, players need not worry too much about this unless you're planning to be some alien species who is at large in the universe.

There are also positions for you who would like to play main Doctor Who villains. For that I ask that you know the history and collective personality of the race. When we need that race for an episode or arc, you will be the only one allowed to control them. However, you would have to conform to whatever motive or means made by the writers. You also become my senior advisor if I or anyone else has questions about appointed race. So, if you are just a complete fanatic about a certain race then you should PM me about it.

*Leftinant

*Mystery Man

*Michael

Dangershy

Name: The Artist

Age: Appears around 25, is 857 Sixth Regeneration

Gender: Female

Species: Time Lord

Appearance: Tall, about 5'9" with long brown hair. Usually seen in a gray tee shirt and some slightly torn jeans and black boots, with a silver jacket. Eyes are a TARDIS-blue colour, but a bit lighter. Tanned, slightly muscled build. Has scars on her arms from some fights.

Personality: Rather frosty towards most people at first, until you can show her that you're a useful person to keep around. If you're a friend from a long time, she'll be warm and friendly with you.

History: Her past is confusing, so far that even she can hardly keep it straight. She was one of the Time Lords who had been away from Gallifrey when the timelock was set in place. So far she's been going through time, much like the Doctor; fixing the fluxes in space, preventing catastrophes not meant to happen.

Other: One of the Doctor's older friends, but she highly doubts that he remembers much of her. Also has a TARDIS-- with a working chameleon circuit.

IamSHERlocked

Name: Shire Smahlt

Age: Physical: 17 Actual: Unknown

Gender: Male

Species: Werewolf

Appearance: Shire is about 5'6" with short green hair and yellow slitted eyes. He wears red goggles and a torn-up shirt with army pants and combat boots. (I don't know what it is between me and combat boots xd.png) Light-ish skin with a bit of a tan. His ears are slightly pointed at the top. He's about 123 lbs. and has a lean build.

Personality: Mischevious and weird. Strangely violent and constantly twitching. He stutters, too.

History: Shire assumes he was left on his own to die when he was a pup by his family. Because he wasn't raised around other werewolves, he is fairly warm towards humans.

Other: Sometimes Shire's voice becomes reedy, like another, deeper, scratchier voice is combined with his own.

Kiyye

Name: Fiona Rosewood (Omega Infini5 and Olive Thorton)

Age: Appears 25, actually 42

Gender: female

Species: Human

Appearance: Fiona is an average, dark brown haired girl. She is 5'2 and a little bit too skinny, due to not eating much. She gets cold easily and so is almost always wearing long sleeves and pants. She is pretty non-muscular, as she doesn't play any sports. Her skin is pale and her eyes match her hair.

Personality: When speaking face to face with people she is awkward, but in truth she is a very logical and understanding. Her first priority is always the safety of others and herself, and she seldom lets emotions get in her way.

History: When Fiona was a young girl, A group of aliens created a portal through time near her house, and she fell through it. The moment she teleported to somehow had a large affect on her current life, so she is now stuck in a paradox that causes her to age slowly. This paradox also causes her to be able to go longer without eating, drinking, or sleeping than others. Her parents were later killed by an earthquake, and so she decided to dedicate her life to scientific research on the earth's interior. She did her work in secret, known as Olive Thorton, so nobody would become suspicious of her aging. This became a problem when she was trapped by a collapsed tunnel entrance and nobody came to look for her. She was then stuck underground for 1 and a half years with nothing but some salad and a computer with a slow connection. She survived by farming the mushrooms in her salad and finding an underground water supply. The computer never ran out if battery because of the negative time energy around her. So she became known on the Internet as Omega Infni5, the phantom never spotted in real life. This led her to become a computer loving nerdy scientist girl who knows a lot of potentially useful random trivia. She was later rescued by a group of scientists looking for fossils.

Other:

RainDash

Name: Kara McGinty

Age: 25

Gender: female

Species: Human

Appearance: Standing at about 5' 1'', Kara is small by most definitions of the word. Her red-brown hair is always cut short and tucked out of her face, and her jade green eyes hold an adventurous edge. She wears a loose red shirt with a black hoodie over it. Her pants are usually slacks of many and varied colors, but she more often than not, wears black. She always has a red bag slung over her shoulder, containing books, money, and anything she thinks she might need. With her knee-high converse boots, she always dresses for adventure.

Personality: Kara grew up staring at the stars or with her face in a book. She can be a dreamer, but she's just as quick to bust your nose if you dare insult her. Kara's generally frustrated, and when you ask her why, she'll reply that she's waiting for adventure. She is childish and pigheaded, latching onto certain concepts -like things should not be bigger on the inside- and refusing to believe anything against them. Though she'd rather keep this side buried, she's rather sensitive and can be upset by little things.

History: Kara McGinty grew up hearing tales about aliens and men in strange boxes. Even when her father long after admitted his mistake in telling her, she believed in it. Every night during her childhood, she would sit on her parent's porch, watching the stars until she fell asleep or the sun came up. One night, a band of rude boys started to insult her, and she fought back. She lost, and since then, has been training to never lose another fight.

Other: Likes kittens.

Shadow-Claw

Name: Sherlock Holmes

Age: Late twenties to early thirties (actual age not mentioned)

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Appearance: Sherlock is known for his dark, curly hair and intelligent, aquamarine eyes. He is tall, standing about about six-foot two and a half, and slender. Sherlock has a pale complexion, simply because being an active, sunshine-loving person is nothing like him. His normal attire are nice-looking dress clothes, normally slacks and a one-color, button-up shirt. Outerwear is a long, black trenchcoat and a blue scarf, and black dress shoes.

Personality: Sherlock Holmes is a brilliant, yet sociopathic man. He is quick to judge, quick to anger, and slow to trust. His introverted ways and love for a good murder makes him seem shady, although the only reason he enjoys murders are enjoyable are the secrets and details behind them. Sherlock is known to "scan" people, or survey their appearance, body language, and other small details to deduct things about them. His blunt way of discovering things about people make him seem psychotic, though this isn't entirely the case. Insults and arguments is the most common interactions with him, and if one isn't insulted or yelled at, he doesn't speak at all. Sherlock is plagued with extreme boredom, his pristine deductive skills making everything seem dull and easily readable, and has experimented in ways to stay entertained (ex. drugs, shooting at the wall, etc.). He had a smoking problem, but has quit altogether (unless stressed, then he'll take a cigarette from his secret stash).

History: Sherlock grew up with his mother and older brother Mycroft, who he both despised and looked up to. He finished school early, being the brilliant man he is, and delved into the career of detective work.

Other: He plays the violin

Takhesis

Name: Sgt. Janet Harriman

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Appearance: Short, but muscular build. Has blue eyes and brunette hair - cut in the close cropped style of the military. Most often seen in UNIT uniform. When off duty she favours jeans and a T-shirt.

Personality: Reasonably even tempered and sensible - unless someone really annoys her or she gets dared into stupid things.

History: Regular girl raised by a conservative, traditional family. Her mother no longer speaks to her - she doesn't approve of Janet's 'tomboyish ways' and the whole joining the military thing. Her father, though stern, secretly approves of Janet's military career - he wishes that his son had followed in his footsteps rather than his daughter.

Other: Hates the view some of her colleagues have - most say she only got in UNIT due to her father's influence... and others are worse - thinking she shouldn't be military at all due to gender.

Xerozia

Name: Souchin

Age: Appearance-14 Actual-123

Gender: Female

Species: Thal

Appearance: Electric blue hair to her shoulders with long green pigtails tied in red ribbons. Yellow eyes with heavy orange eyeshadow. Wears pink camo shorts and magenta combat boots with a lavender vest and purple scarf.

Personality: Always annoyed and mad at something, Souchin is a very strange girl separated from her family

History: The Kaled and Thals had a war in which the Thals disappeared. Souchin is a lost child, either run away or simply separated from her family members--which she doesn't care for, anyways. Now she travels alone, kicking up trouble wherever she can and interacting with whoever she can.

Other: (I'm going to try and make her as weird as possible)

If any detail about plot needs to be clarified for the critique - I'm more than happy to answer via PM.

I'd like to keep some mystery for the players and their characters to work out as the episodes progress.

Arc 1:Beginnings

Episode 1: Discovering the Future Past

In a remote corner of a dig, a cry went up from the excavators. They had found something - something important.

The professor in charge ran over with a couple of local guides to see what the fuss was about. The professor couldn't believe his eyes - neither could the guides believe theirs.

In their mother tongue, the guides started muttering prayers and slowly backed away. One of them stayed long enough to say:

"Rebury that thing. It brings nothing but bad luck." Then the guides scattered - leaving only the most foolhardy of their group behind to lead the archaeologists back to civilization.

The professor shook his head, "Superstitious nonsense."

---A week later---

The professor was studying the site photos in his office. That was the start of things - he was the first to disappear. Over the next month the rest of his team disappeared - one by one.

The whole set of events has caused many to speculate, and even the media has started to compare things to the 'Curse of the Pharaoh' that followed the Valley of the Kings dig of 1922.

Sherlock crouched down to pick up a newspaper that rattled in the wind. He wrapped his thin fingers around it, and straightened back up. Aquamarine eyes flitted across the paper. "Entire archeological team goes missing, natives claim to be a curse" He frowned slightly, gazing upon the black-and-white picture on the day of the dig. "How strange, perhaps this will be another mystery the police department get a mysterious tip on." Of course, all of the "mysterious" tips were Sherlock's deductions, but no one but himself knew of that. The police department and law enforcement thought of it as a miracle, though the used-to-be detective sees it as a bitter reminder that he could never go back to his life of solving mysteries. Sighing softly, he folded up the newspaper, tipped his hat further down his face, and walked down the street.

She sighed. "Come on, don't be a sentimental fool." Leftinant said to herself. She put the instrument back in its place and brushed off some of the dust. She smiled proudly at it and went over to the dashboard of her ship. Everything looked brand spanking new. The walls were laboratory white, the doors were... Fire engine red for some reason. Vines crawling all over the place. Oh well, it looked great. "Set the date, place, flip that, that, and that..." she mumbled as she rushed around the controls. "Twist this thing aaand Bam! To Callimesu we go!" She put her hands into the pockets of her dress blues and waited. The Matrix thrummed and pulsed. In only a minute, it stopped. Leftinant rubbed her hands together and went to the front doors. The scene when she flung them open wasn't quite as she expected. There was a river and humans and cars. She looked for a landmark. A double decker bus drove by and she could see the London bridge now. "What in blue blazes have you done?" she said, leaning out and looking at the exterior of the ship. It posed as a stone memorial and on further examination, apparently didn't care that it was in London and just left Gallifreyan text on the front. "You, my friend, are eccentric." She jabbed a finger at the TARDIS matrix. She stepped onto the sidewalk and closed what appeared to be a heavy stone slab back into place on the memorial. "But why did you bring me here?"

Janet was working out in the base Gym when she was called to report to the Captain's office. She stopped cycling and hopped off the bike. Great... and I was about to break my own personal best too..

She did wonder what it was about. Grabbing her small towel, Janet waked to the office mopping up her warm face as she went. It sounded important so her cool down shower would have to wait.

Knocking on the door and entering when asked, Janet saluted the Captain.

"Sgt. Harriman reporting as ordered."

---a few minutes later----

Janet left the office with a folder under her arm. Great, surveillance duty...at least its an assignment. She'd been tasked with observing and reporting on anything out of the ordinary with the finds that the missing team had been working on.

The first disappearance had been dismissed as a potential high-profile kidnapping, but the rest of the team also going AWOL? That said something else was going on. Whether it was a matter for UNIT or not was another question entirely. That was her job to determine.

Sherlock stopped dead when a woman seemed to just walk out of a monument. He blinked a few times, wondering if he had finally gone mad. No, she was still there. He shifted the weight of his pack on his shoulders, and tightened the grip on his violin. "What...what did you just do?" He asked slowly. This girl didn't didn't make much sense either. A simple "scan" picked up. A number of things: dust, grass, pieces of fabric he couldn't identify, some sort of...something, and a lot more he had no idea of what it was. "I'm sorry, but you don't make sense. It's clear you are a traveller, but to where? Some of the things you carry on you I have never seen in my life! And you just walked out of a statue!"

Leftinant looked up, alarmed that someone had noticed her. She instinctively straightened to attention, folding her hands behind her back. "I... am the official supervisor of this statue, just supervising it and, you know, cleaning the inside." she said, glancing back at her ship. Left unfolded her hands and brushed some of the alien flora off her uniform. Humans, always curious and whatnot. Always bothering people coming out of statues. She had to figure out why she was here. This was The Doctor's territory. "Have you maybe seen a blue police box or a man, a bit old-fashioned, a bit odd?"

"What is the point of cleaning the inside of a statue when the only thing you see is the outside? I understand maintaining it for infrastructural reasons, but to clean it...?" Sherlock wondered to himself. His intelligent gaze turned back to The Leftinant. "I can tell when one is lying, ma'am. I was a detective for years. As for a man in a blue box...no. But I have heard rumors about a such man before. As for you, you seem a bit old-fashioned and odd yourself. Perhaps you're willing to explain?" If not, he could always infer by what he had "scanned" off of her. Though, all the strange information was giving mixed readings. "John Hudon, at your service."

Splendid, this man was a detective making him even more curious. She tugged at her uniform. It was based of the American military which didn't belp at all here. She had no stripes or stars on her cuffs, no rank patched into her shoulder, and her badges only extended to one side. Still, a londoner might not be able to tell the difference. "It's a pleasure to meet you, John Hudson." she sized him up. "I'm from a special division of the military." 'Earth or not'. "I'm here on a high profile mission. I can't disclose any information past that, sir." What the heck was she supposed to do in London? She shook momentarily with a suppressed laugh. Maybe it was a hint to take a vacation, or to finally retire. "You can call me Leftinant."

"Leftinant? What an odd name" He commented, though it didn't sound like an insult. "Sherlock Holmes is a strange name as well...maybe if I trust her enough I can tell her my name." he raised an eyebrow, and carefully adjusted his hair to make sure his curly hair didn't spill out of it. "I know all special ranks of the military, ma'am, and I have never seen an outfit quite like yours. Do explain where you are from. Tell you what, how about we exchange tales, and then I might leave you alone. If not, well, a woman stepping out of a statue claiming she was from the military is the first case I've investigated in almost a year now." He extended a hand, but had to tuck the newspaper under his armpit to do so. "I can tell you about some strange dig, or maybe about my career as a detective."

She took his hand and shook it firmly. John Hudson, upgraded from regular detective to something more. He was tall with black hair as far as she could see. He was rather mysterious actually. She hoped he wasn't part of UNIT or something. She hated officials. If not, then this might be a response to her wish that she'd run across someone. "If we're going to share secrets, then we might as well start with one of my bigger ones." Leftinant opened up the door of the statue and stepped back in to the TARDIS from whence she came and sat leisurely in one of the red swiveling chairs against the walls. "It's rather more comfortable in here anyway." she said.

Sherlock peered into the now open statue, looking both surprised and curious. "I suppose now is a good time to say my name isn't John Hudson? I am actually Sherlock Holmes, maybe you've heard of me, maybe you haven't. Judging my your...machine...you get around a lot..." He responded. One careful step forward followed another one, until he was standing inside her TARDIS. "This is an astounding piece of machinery..." The detective slowly sat his violin case down so that it rested at his feet, and looked about her time machine. "My name is Sherlock Holmes. I faked my own suicide to save my only three friends. A man named Moriatry succeeded in ruining my life, and ended his own when I found a way to save my friends without jumping from a building. Killing himself was the only way to ruin my plan on not claiming to be a fake, a fake detective, that is" He took a few deep breaths after this, kind of surprised he was telling his life story to a total stranger. "I needed to have John, my best friend and job partners, watch me jump. Even called him and told him I was a fake. I'm not, and still aren't a fake in my job. Some called me a psychopath for being able to read people just by looking at them. I'm not a psychopath, by the way, I'm a sociopath. Total difference. Anyways, I have the ability to pick details out of what people are wearing, their body language, that sort of thing. Attention to detail is a skill many people pass up, though I've always been able to see plain as day. Anything else you need to know?"

She shook her head. She was surprised that he had just spilled all of that. She certainly wouldn't have asked, nor said anything if she had been asked, being the type of person with a darker past herself. She looked at his violin case and smiled sympathetically. "I don't want you to tell more than you want to." She got up and pulled the door closed, still red on the inside. "You're right when you say I'm a traveler. I travel the universe like The Doc-tor." She went to the control panel and stroked the glass casing of the TARDIS matrix. "That's the blue box I was talking about." The Doctor had always been something of a fascination to her and The Leftinant had practically copied him once she had met him as a girl. That's where her name came from, also inspired by her chosen career. But that wasn't something to dwell on. Sherlock Holmes was either a very important person or had something important he could tell her.

Sherlock merely shrugged, deciding it was alright to sit down. He was surprised at how comfortable he diner-style chairs were, because they looked pretty old...ish. "I figured that showing me your spaceship was a big secret, so I decided telling you my life story was suitable." he answered. "I can also tell you about some of the adventures I had with my best friend, though none of them seem as interesting as a spaceship! Goodness, this is astounding! How is it a statue on the outside, yet a machine on the inside?"

"A statue? Oh! That's just the chameleon circuit. It makes it so that people don't freak out." She quirked a smile and patted the glass, brushing some of the bright green vines out of the way. She bent over at a small console and typed in Sherlock Holmes. There were immediate results giving tours of 221B Baker Street as a sort of museum to Sherlock some time in the future. Older tabs revealed news headlines underlining him as a fraud. Other reports clocked him in solving long lists of unresolved cases, though official reports rarely ever mentioned him. She leaned back and crossed her arms. No signs of him being government. He seemed to be more of the vigilante type. "And just to let you know now, having a spaceship isn't nearly as big as sharing your life story. Never let an enemy, or a stranger, know too much about you." She navigated away from the search. "And about the ship thing, we can just leave it at magic. Timelord technology would take far too long to explain." She put her hands in her pockets. "Now, I need to know if anything odd has been going on recently. My ship brought me here and I have no idea why."
