Get purple eggs from UVs?

Recommended Posts

Hi

(hope i am at the right place, if not please move)

the Ultraviolates are hybrids from purple and spitfire.

They are more like spitfires in appearance and I understand that they give UVs and spitfire eggs.

But

It would be nice to get every other (like 16th or 32nd) breeding the chance to get a purple from the UVs. Even with genetics favour the spitfires or mainly UVs, I still think there should be a slight purple egg chance too.

Please?? unsure.gif

It would be so nice to have checker spitfire x purple = 2. gen UVs = 3rd gen spitfire x purple.

Lets see what others think.

edit to add: JOTB (spriter and creator of the UVs) suppots this (post is further down: http://forums.dragcave.net/index.php?showt...dpost&p=6903752 )

Cheers,

tridy

I love the idea and was thinking it to myself the other day since I have a nice third gen spitfire from UVs and I was thinking about how nice it would be to be able to breed it to a purple from UVs to make a lineage that picks back up after the throw back.

This has the thumbs up from me.

I like the idea, I don't see why if they can breed spitfires the ultraviolets can't breed purples as well.

Agreed.

I'm not a mad fan of UVs but if this were possible I think I'd make more effort to do something with them. As it is, right now I think I have one UV on my scroll with no plans to breed any more in the near future...

Support. I've never really thought UVs looked any less "purple" then they look "spitfire," so their ability to breed one parent type but not the other never made much sense to me.

All comes down to what the creator wants though. >___<

Support from me too. Just because both parents have black hair and dark eyes doesn't mean that they can't get blue eyed blond kid.

lol that happened with us tongue.gif No blue eyes on my side in three gens.. and hubbys dad has blue eyes, but is adopted. It took forever to figure out where the blond/blue came from tongue.gif

One thing i'd like to suggest here though is equal chances of purple vs spit. I dont think purple should be treated as "rarely happens" from the pairing. Otherwise.. perhaps if you breed uv to purple, you should get purple.. and if you breed to spit, you should get spit. The first idea gives more challange since you will likely breed the wrong colored eggs, but uv/purple should encourage more purples to be born logically.

Think she just said what she thinks smile.gif *looks above*

Both my father and mom are dark eyed with black hair. My brother even inherited mom's curly hair. Nobody believes my mum when she says that I'm her kid.

To be honest, up till now I didn't even know that you can't get purples from UVs. I mean, if you can get spitfires, it would be logical that you can breed purples.

When considering genetics, and thus considering logical breeding results, this is something that should be possible for every hybrid. So I would really like to see this implemented.

Support! I'm already thinking up some supremely beautiful lineages with such an idea. smile.gif

Yay genetics.

Oh whoops! xd.png

Well if the creator herself supports it, then full steam ahead, I should think! smile.gif

Well, you have my support tongue.gif Although, as Thuban said, I think there should be an even chance.

(Basically what people have already said - it's down to the creator.)

Bite me, plz... but I think that they DO produce purples as well, just like the goldfishs produce both magi and water...

Nope, they don't. >____<

OP person, perhaps add JOTB's post to yours? The creator's support is probably the strongest reason to implement this change that we've got. smile.gif

Throwing in another support for this. All hybrids should make both parents baby's. It just makes sense. xd.png

Happened to my brother, he has red hair when neither of my parents have red hair, with both sets of grandparents, both grandfathers were red heads. Pappaw was so thrilled to have a red headed grandchild.

Back on topic, yeah I would love a chance to get a purple, and I agree that the chance should be equal.

I could have sworn I'd bred a purple from a pair of UVs in the past... But checking my babies revealed no purple babies, and breeding them all just gave UVs...

Either way, would really love this if they can't! But I was so sure they could... :/

Cheers!
