Recommended Posts

Looking into it right now.

TJ is aware of the problem, he will let you know if you get another extension, on the Easter egg hunt.

Guys, the cave went down roughtly 4 minutes before the end of the event. End of the event was to be at 8pm EST, cave went down roughtly 7:56pm EST. In my honest opinion, it isn't enough to extend the event even tho the cave is still down.

Wait, the event ended at 8:00PM EST? I'm sorry, but that's really foolish. Most of the country hasn't even gotten home from work yet. At the very least the event should have ended at midnight. Especially with the unexpected downtime on Saturday. Many of us don't have time to do these kind of sites except on the weekends or late at night.

It's a bit late to be asking for an exception to be made now, but I'd like to petition that next year the event end at midnight; PST would be best for more people, but at the very least EST. 8:00PM EST isn't really convenient for the majority of the country. It was an enjoyable event, but I didn't get all the eggs, because I had no idea it was ending so soon.

The reason it ended at 8 is because when it started at midnight Saturday morning, three hours into the event the cave went down for 20 hours. Because of that, TJ extended the deadline by the same amount, thus ending the event at 8pm.

Ah, that much makes sense, but unfortunately, the people who would normally be logging on in the middle of the day on a Saturday are not the same people who would be logging on during the middle of the day on a Tuesday. It's an untenable position no matter which way you look at it. And there's no way to please everyone.

There will always be some disappointed party who didn't get all the eggs. Whether it be because of a miscommunication, as is my case, or because of laziness, or simple ignorance to the number of eggs there were in total, someone somewhere is going to be upset when the event ends.

Alternatively, if TJ were to extend the event something like a week, then the users who dutifully got all their eggs within the first three days as originally planned would feel cheated like more pressure was put on them than deserved, and they'd be right. Someone somewhere is going to be upset.

Knowing why 8:00PM EST, I now agree with TJ, it's unfortunate that twenty hours on a Tuesday don't quite match twenty hours on a Saturday, but that's life. So some of us missed a few graphic images that we can access by other means if we desperately want to see them. Life will go on.

Not everyone has the weekend off, so I don't see how catering to the people who do would help. I think the time adjustment and when the event ended was fair.

Guys I am going to close this, if TJ feels the need he can reopen it.

Happy Festival of Eggs, everyone.

With the discovery of a few hours of data loss (see this topic), the event will be extended yet again. I will be scheduling this extended period for some time in the future, possibly this weekend.
