Sad songs

Recommended Posts

- Hawk Nelson.

I cry every time I hear it. It's not a sappy love song, it's about a loved one dying of cancer.

christmas shoes is a sad one for me, and when my parents divorced it was already there, but my worst one is

by eric clampton, i was too young to remember, but my brother died because of his dads negligence of his diabetes, this song came out right after he died and when i got older my mom told me the story of what happened, so now every time i hear this song or even think about the song i end up crying, he was 13 when he died, and it turns out the artist wrote this for his 4 yr old son who fell over a railing to his death, and my immortal makes me think of him too, another sad song is

I've listened to some of the live versions of it way too much to cry over the song itself anymore. But oh man the ending part always gets me, even if just slightly.

(I also have other songs which I have cried over at least once, but I can't be arsed to currently name them)

This is in estonian, but these words just touch your soul if you understand them. This song is about brakeup or death of your lover. The singer of this song died a little after writing this song...

That's just so sad sad.gif

Sad songs huh?

Many of those I like were already listed on the pages before (like 'mad world', 'memories', ect.).

Here some that were missing (mostly older ones):

Why - by Ayaka 'Final Fantasy - Crisis Core Soundtrack' (If you played the game you know why)

My Way - Frank Sinatra

'Man's Road' and 'The Last Unicorn' by America

In Pieces - Linkin Park (and much more from linkin park wink.gif )

Forever Young - Alphaville

And my most loved (sad) song from my childhood: 'Mamatschi, schenk mir ein pferdchen'

It is a old traditional song about a young boy who desperately wished for a horse but always gets just toy horses and horses made from sweets. He allways says 'Mamatschi (Mama) gift me a horse, a horse would be my paradise. But such horses I didn't want.'. Later when he is an adult a mourning carriage (the carriage that used to take away the dead from your home and brought them to a cemetry) is in front of his house to take away his mother and remembers his wish. He parts from his mother saying 'Mamatschi (Mama) gift me a horse, a horse would be my paradise. But mourning horses I didn't want.'.

Only version I found: Link

Everyone has that song that makes them cry. No matter how much they refuse to admit it it's true.

My most recent is mind eraser by the black keys.

Since no one's mentioned it yet, One by Metallica.

The official music video here:

The interspersed movie clips are from the 1971 film Johnny Got His Gun, based on the Dalton Trumbo book of the same name. The song was also written based on the book.

Love Me When I'm Gone by 3 Doors Down.

The official video makes it even more of a tearjerker, at least for me.
