What is it?

A mass-breeding event specializing in earthy-dragons for Earth Day!

When is it?

Tuesday, April 22nd from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM, cave time!

What do I do?

Breed your dragons! Specifically these ones!

  • Vines!
  • Greens!
  • Terrae!
  • Undine!

Why those ones?

Because they're earthy! And it's Earth Day! We're super creative like that. PS, if you have suggestions of other earthy breeds that you feel should be included, let us know! We'll take it into consideration. smile.gif

Awesome. Can I get a reminder?

You bet your boots you can! Tell us you're interested and we'll remind you on the day of!

Wait, what's Earth Day anyway?

Earth Day is a celebration and day of awareness for our dear mother Earth and for environmental conservation and protection! It was first celebrated on April 22, 1970 with peaceful demonstrations to promote environmental reform. So if people say it's tree-hugging hippie stuff, they're actually historically not wrong. But, like, air and water are kind of important. And they're better when they're clean. So let's go ahead and go for that, yeah?

Today, April 22 is marked as a holiday in more than 192 countries around the world, making it one of the most celebrated secular holidays in the world. Go Earth!

Still not a fan of mass-breeding, dude.

Cool, bro. But, as before, if you want to talk about opinions on mass breeding in general, not directly related to this event, please direct your comments in this direction.

Yes! I'll definitely get involved this time. I was quite annoyed at myself for missing the Ides of March breeding so I'm glad that this is being organised. laugh.gif

Count me in and please send a reminder.

Greens and Vines are two of my favorites and I have a LOT of them. I'll be hoping to catch lots and lots of 2nd gen purebred greens, 2nd gen geodes from green x green and 2nd gen purebred vines that will hopefully go ALT. biggrin.gif

I'm down with this! And I can contribute more eggs to this than I could to the Ides of March breeding as I have more lovelies to breed~

Got Greens, got Vines, got Terrae! I'm in! biggrin.gif

As long as this thread is active, I probably won't need a reminder.

I recently tested my Terrae pairs, and think they are in good shape, but a walk through the Greens and the Vines is in order, just to see how many pairs I have. rolleyes.gif

Ooh! Count me in! :D

Perhaps Canopies, Neotropicals, heck even Tangars and Imperial Fleshcrownes (This egg is hidden in the trees) could be included too if for some reason someone doesn't have any of the other breeds? Maybe Undines as well, representing clean water? Plus, the more breeds there are, the less chance of a one-breed wall, which hopefully would appease those who don't like walls. c:

As with Shadowfighter's proposed Easter breeding event, I do think we ought to limit the number of breeds involved a little. With two events in the same month, that's a lot of pairs to prepare.

True, but one wouldn't necessarily have to breed all the eligible breeds. *shrug* It was just a thought, it's ultimately up to the heads of the event which kinds of dragons they want to include.

Yep, I've got my event down to three breeds, all representing different easter-y things. I really can't wait for the Festival of eggs this year, and all these breeding events.

I agree. Even if there's no new release this month we still have a lot to look foraward to!

We an always add your suggested additional pairs next year if this becomes an annual thing. But I personally want to breed all the clean-lineaged evet breeds for both events that I can But I don't have established breeding pairs for any of them except for my one CB male Pillow. Which reminds me if pillows are going to be in the Easter breeding event then I need to get at least one more CB Male Pillow before then!

*Phew* Stromboli, the master of organizing mass-breeding events. I thought of other "earthy" dragons, but they aren't green and they're pretty rare. (Elements/Stones, like Gold, Silver, Copper, Pyralspites)

What about Water dragons, and Stone dragons?

Definetly going to be breeding on that day.

But I thought the Red MassBreed was on for St. George's Day, which is April 23??

Sounds fun - there's plenty of time between Easter and Earth day breeding events for my CB Holidays and Metals to come of their cooldowns and any of the eggs I pick up during the first event will be long grown, so so count me in!

I'd like to participate. biggrin.gif I don't have a large volume of the dragons suggested, so I'll start collecting them now.

Does anyone have any suggestions for breeding partners for Terraes and Greens? smile.gif

I, like Stromboli, like Terrae with pinks, and Greens look awesome with waterhorse dragons.

For Terraes: Fever Wyverns, Harvests, female Swallowtails (personally my favourite), and male Tri-horns. I have yet to make anything with them, but I have a good excuse now... the soft green for the Terraes is just so nice with other breeds. I've seen Pink x Terrae checkers around; they remind me of Spring Seasonals. laugh.gif

I haven't used Green dragons for anything, either, but I think they'd look alright with the Howler sprites, were it possible to breed that combination. Waters or Whiptails could be interesting as checkers?

I have only one suggestion... One of the things I liked of the brutes massbreeding is that brutes are a new bred. When you breed brutes with something else, even if ultracommon but older, you usually only get brute eggs. So I hoped that a mass breeding of them could help balance their number and so making it more likely to get non brute eggs out of them in the future.

For this reason I'd love if at least one the the earthly choose bred was a newer dragon. I don't know... undines maybe? They protect water streams after all.
