Posted May 27, 2012 What's with the shy-looking emote? Nothing wrong with the types of games you chose. Share this post Link to post

Posted May 28, 2012 Some of my fave genres and sub-genres: - RTS's, particularly empire-building/god-game RTS's - Age of Empires or Settlers style. Not enough of these around these days. On the 'casual' games side of things, I tend to get totally addicted to a good Tower Defense. - Puzzle games. - FPS's (sortof). I probably put the most play time into these (Halo 3, briefly MW2, currently BF3) even if I don't actually enjoy these the most. Genres I'm not so keen on: - Sports - excluding more arcade-y racing games (Need For Speed) and snowboarding / skateboarding games (Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series). - Some action-adventure. The back and forth nature of quests in games like Zelda just feels like unnecessary padding. - Arcade-style puzzle-platformers. Tend to find these irritate me very quickly. To be honest, I play LOTS of games from lots of different genres and suffer from the gamers' curse: too many games to play, too little time to play them! Share this post Link to post
Posted May 28, 2012 Now that I think about it, I also like games that stretch the imagination like Minecraft. Delicious Minecraft... Share this post Link to post
Posted May 29, 2012 J/RPGs mostly, especially monster raising types like Pokemon or Persona. I also quite like action/adventure, like Uncharted and Overlord. I'm not sure what Portal counts as, but I like that as well. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 29, 2012 I dunno, quite honestly. O__O I like all kinds, but I guess RPG's and fighting games are my favorites. I have spent many hours playing Soul Caliber 3, Street Fighter and various Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games. Then again. . . I like COD and Gears of War too :/ Share this post Link to post
Posted June 1, 2012 I adore most games, though my favourite genres are perhaps JRPGS (Skies of Arcadia, Tales of..., Final Fantasy, etc.), Slash 'em ups (the good ones, like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta, not mash-x-to-win like God of War ), and horror (Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Fatal Frame / Project Zero, etc). But like I said, I enjoy most games. My most hated type? COD, and anything like it. It's all just half-assed, rehashed, casual-gamer pandering snoozefests. Unfortunately they shift millions of games (and prove that quantity =/= quality) and so game companies are butchering old franchises to try and get the "COD audience" - see the new Devil May Cry, new Hitman, new Resident Evil and new Dead Space. They all look terrible. BRACKETS ERRYWHERE. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 14, 2014 I am terrible at Super Smash Bros, even when I play as Kirby... I'm more at home with RPG games (Skyward Sword and AC:III are two favorites) and FPS games (Begone. Freaking amazing FPS for the PC, but it's overrun with hackers). Share this post Link to post
Posted August 14, 2014 I love Survival Horror. At least the old ones, anyways. I wouldn't consider Resident Evil 4 and beyond as Survival Horror's... I also absolutely love old RPG's. Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, The Secret of Evermore, Mystic Quest... Nothing compares to those two types, for me. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 14, 2014 RPGs! I adore the feeling of going on an epic adventure, and even if the plot isn't too great (like saving royalty or something) I still enjoy them. Quests are just fun for me, and progressing through the game makes me feel really good inside. I partially like it when the characters are interesting, and the person you play as gets lots of character development. Easy games like Kirby are fun for me as well. I enjoy breezing through everything, it's really relaxing and mildly exciting. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2014 I like adventure type games (like Crash bandicoot and Animal Crossing) and I also like musical games like Guitar Hero (my favorite video game). I also like playing Super Smash Bros Brawl but I dont know what catagory I should put that Under. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2014 I like RPGs, but my favorite type would have to be action/adventure. Share this post Link to post
