Heavenly Branches [OOC and Discussion]

Recommended Posts

12 April, 2115

The new recruits -- two hundred of the most gifted teens from around the world -- will be here in a few weeks. Added to the hundred returning students from last year, the campus is finally going to start feeling less empty. Since the establishment of Heaven's Gate Academy, much progress has been made on the Branch Project. 'Branches' are the mystical devices created by Dr. Udo Nakata that let humans stand a chance against the demons threatening our world. I had to see it to believe it, but they allow humans to harness what could only be described as magic. Some could create fire and others could weaponize air, earth, or water.

But, there were two important limitations... First, a single Branch was too powerful to be handled by one person and so they must be used in pairs -- hence the full name of Twin Branch System. Second, the Branch would lose its power once its user transitioned into adulthood.

At first I thought it morally questionable that we would be using teens to fight a battle that adults cannot, but with the rising strength of the demons roaming the world, I don't think we have much of a choice. That's why we set up a school, to train them and monitor their development as well as the ongoing development of the Branches. There's still a lot we don't know even about the Branches themselves -- just last year, we discovered that when a pair falls in love, their powers increase.

And thus is Heaven's Gate's secondary mission: matchmaking.

Heavenly Branches

Setting

The year is 2115 on our Earth. The world now features sprawling mega-metropolises all around the globe to serve the increasing needs of the people. Enormous towers of steel and glass dominate the skyline as a testament to humanity's power over nature. Inhospitable lands have been made livable, whereas what remained of the endangered lands on Earth was fiercely protected. Much of the existing infrastructure such as roads and railways still exists due to the cost associated with replacing them all with newer systems; as such, the major modes of transportation such as cars, ships, and planes still resemble their older counterparts in part or in whole. Technology has become increasingly smaller and smarter, enabling the creation and mass-production of objects that test the limits of innovation like tablets as flexible as a sheet of paper or clothing that rarely soils. Nevertheless, the world and its people still look much like they did a hundred years ago, and a lingering global threat has not changed that in the slightest.

Public Knowledge

Most people have learned about the "demon attacks" through increasing news coverage in the past five years. At first no more than a cryptozoologist's dream, these strange creatures -- uncanny combinations of animals on Earth with strange powers as of yet not understood -- have been becoming an increasing problem. Sprouting from certain specfic geographical points dubbed Demon Gates, these monsters have an aggressive temperament and are known to attack humans on sight and feed on their flesh, although they have no sense of self-preservation and seek only to destroy. Conventional weaponry barely affected them, with the exception of some well-placed bullets through the heart, an area difficult to guess and difficult to reach. The curious thing, however, was that demons did not leave corpses, only dust. If it was left uncollected, the wind would carry it off forever.

In 2113, word spread online of a new weapon used to combat these demons with ease and grace. The videos of it looked like a movie where special effects were applied generously, but live demonstrations pitting humans against a demon showed that it was too real. The only catch was that it could only be utilized effectively by persons between the ages of 15 and 19. While it sparked the imaginations of teens everywhere, there was a justifiable backlash on the part of the parents at the announcement of a so-called "demon-fighting school" located in inland Africa named Heaven's Gate Academy. Mandatory aptitude tests were run in selected cities, and the top 100 high school students were chosen for an all-expenses-paid boarding experience.

Results were apparent less than a year later. By the time Heaven's Gate Academy had a second round of admissions, demon sightings reduced dramatically. Their entrance exam is now offered globally in five major languages and in many high schools. While there is a correlation to physical fitness as well as logical thinking, some of the choices for the new 200 students appear a bit random. Nevertheless, the Academy is seen as exclusive and extremely prestigious.

Heaven's Gate Academy

Heaven’s Gate Academy is bundled together with the Branch Research Institute, a building used to research demons and the weaponry used by the students, dubbed Branches. It is located near the first (and now defunct) Demon Gate within the tropical regions of Tanzania. While the land itself is protected, the Academy has cleared away a portion of the forests to create a large enough clearing to place the school and its grounds. A river runs near it about half an hour’s hike to the east. Some food and goods are imported by way of ship or helicopter, but the campus sustains itself through small-scale farming and occasional hunting and gathering. The climate is humid and subtropical, although it is mild enough not to warrant artificial cooling.

Remnant monsters from the first gate still roam the forests. They are frequently used for target practice as they do not seem to display any powerful mutations nor have they a fear of humans.

The school building is made of white stone, steel and glass: a modern artefact against the lush green backdrop of palm trees and crawling vines, wide and mirroring the imposing presence of the mountains seen in the distance. The classrooms and lecture halls are arranged in a square around a central open courtyard garden. It is a single storey high. The dorms are a two-tiered arrangement that lies to the South of the main school, connected by a covered walkway, while the research building is an annex to the north, past which is a fenced-off football field. A white stone pillar as tall as the trees around it is planted beside the research institute and acts as a landmark visible from a distance.

The dorm rooms share a common building. They are co-ed but separated based on element; each elemental ‘house’ -- about seventy students each -- has its own rooms, lobby, and utilities (such as washrooms and laundry). Each of the elemental locales are further divided into smaller rooms of about ten to sixteen students sharing pairs of bunk beds. Students are free to choose their own rooms within their element. Lockers and their associated keys are provided to store valuables, although the place works on a system of honor when it comes to decorating your own corner and cleaning up your own trash. Please remain respectful to your peers as well as mindful of the school's resources.

The dining hall, student lounge, gym, and auditorium are in the same building as the dorms and are shared among all four elements.

Branches and Stems

A Branch is the device that permits the use of magic. They are a gem about the size and flatness of a bottlecap, embedded into a frame of metal. Because school protocol requires Branches to be worn visibly, many students choose to have them incorporated into jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets or rings. It is also not uncommon to see the Branches attached to the back of a glove or as a brooch pinned on the tie (both are recommended by the school) and some students have gotten creative with their Branch placements as long as it is visible (i. e. not covered by elements of the uniform) and is unlikely to fall off during the heat of battle. The Branch works best when the user is in close proximity; the farther away they are from each other, the weaker the magic until it peters out completely at around three feet in any direction.

Branches are initially a shade of grey prior to being activated for the first time. Once a person – dubbed the Stem -- has activated their Branch, the gem gains a personal color and will only respond to the Stem in question. The Branch color is a visual shorthand for identifying a student's element: blues and purples for water, reds and oranges for fire, browns and yellows for earth, whites and greens for air. The Branches also contain a link to the identification of a student and can be tracked from the main office. Students who have lost their Branches will be penalized.

Magic and Syncing

The leading safety feature of the Branches prevents the use of any magic when not paired with someone. By simply touching another Stem physically – it can be as simple as a high-five or as elaborate as a tango – a Branch user can tag a partner and initiate a sync through which they gain armor and specialized clothing (they appear by default, but can be summoned away) not unlike a magical girl. For the duration of the sync, both members gain the ability to use magic and summon copies of a weapon related to their own personality and fighting style. In addition to the touch, a sync is initiated by will (to prevent accidental tags) and can be also broken by will. A sync is also broken if one partner is too weak to continue, or if both partners are too far away from each other. They could theoretically be maintained for as long as both partners are awake, though eventually the bond weakens over a few hours unless the sync is re-initated.

Syncing gives a pair a heightened awareness of each other's location as well as other bonuses to strength, speed, and agility. They also gain some subconscious knowledge on how to use their personal weapons and power over a fundamental element.

All Stems are categorized into one of four elements (earth, fire, air, or water) the moment they activate their Branch. This element cannot be changed and seems to correlate with the user's personality (though this is not always the case). Nobody really knows how the Branch selects its element. A student's element decides which dorms they are sorted in and which combat classes they study, as well as the striped colors of their tie.

When pairs of different elements are formed, both members of the pair gain access to a third element whose strength depends on the strength of their bond. For complementary elements, it is a force related to both of its two components; for opposing elements (fire/water or earth/air), instead of gaining an 'in-between' element to share, one member gains shadow magic and the other gains light magic. Stems may also combine their attacks in a more conventional way: a Fire Stem may heat a Water Stem's water to a scalding temperature before attacking with it.

Same-element assigned pairs are uncommon, though they are often initiated during training to encourage a quicker mastery of elemental skills. Same-element permanent pairs are still nothing to scoff at, however, since they can combine their powers and amplify their strength twofold or more.

Elemental Overview

Fire often manifests in those who are wildly passionate in their view of life and those who are strikingly forward and volatile in interactions. At first they may be hard to get along with, but some of the strongest Stems -- when it comes to sheer destructive force -- control this element. Fire Stems can spontaneously light the scene and manifest fireballs or coat their bodies in flames. Some of the more advanced users can even create explosions to propel themselves. They are also the most dangerous people to have around. Paired with air they gain control over lightning; with earth, they are masters of steel and molten rock.

Earth appears in Stems who are straightforward and organized. Some of the most mellow people obtain earth and while they are friendly and generally easygoing, they are particularly stubborn about their personal beliefs. Their magic deals with moving rocks and stones, drawing physical power from contact with the ground and creating constructs to bolster their own defenses. Despite having the potential to be just as strong as fire, many Stems believe it to be a rather boring element compared to the other three. Paired with fire they create steel, and with water they create wood and gain control over plants.

Air Stems are usually active and carefree like the stereotype of their element. They carry a striking imagination and are often the most active and creative students in academy events. Air elementals have the ability to float off the ground when in Sync, and have control over winds and air pressure. They can weaponize it as well, creating blades of wind or sonic thrusts. Higher level air users are also known to use sound by causing specific vibrations in the air. They are fast, they are cool, they can fly -- air is the element many Stems wish they had. Fire heats them up to strike like lightning, while combined with water they gain the ability to cool objects and manipulate ice.

Water runs within those who are somewhat cold and distant and those who are calm and sensitive. They are introspective and tend to seek answers on their own. Their magic allows them to breathe underwater when synced, and they have the ability to manipulate liquids, pushing and pulling on them as if they were dough. Some high level water users can gain a proficiency in healing. Water itself is not a very offensive element as a Stem can only really attack with pressurized water, but it plays a strong support role when paired with others – forming wood with earth and ice with wind.

Ice is created from the union of water and air. It gives the Water Stem a reliable method of attack and grants the air stem some strength and precision behind their blizzards and hailstorms.

Wood, or life as it is sometimes called, arises from earth and water. Both members of the pair gain control of the things growing in the soil, creating twisting vines and hypnotic flowers blooming spontaneously from the ground.

Lightning is the product of an Air Stem paired with a Fire Stem, and is notoriously one of the most devastating combinations. Striking hard and fast, lightning pairs use supercharged plasma to wreck everything in sight. It takes a lot to master this element without hurting oneself in the process.

Steel is the manipulation of not only steel, but a plethora of inorganic metals and minerals. Forged from the bond of a Fire Stem and an Earth Stem, it gives the pair control over sharp and pointy things.

Light contains all powers related to bending light waves and, as such, light users -- Air and Fire Stems paired with their opposing elements -- have the capability to focus light into beams or divert them away to achieve invisibility, or create blinding flashes to distract opponents. As a side effect, they can heat objects.

Shadow is the other half of the opposing pair -- Earth and Water Stems -- and contains abilities complementing the Light partner. As its sister element, Shadow users too can divert light to their own use and cloak themselves or opponents in a mist of darkness. They have enhanced night vision, and additionally they can cool objects.

Classes and Class Hours

Classes happen at Heaven's Gate much like they do in a regular high school. Every hour and a half is a change in classes, and all the usual courses are offered: English (for the school is taught in english), Mathematics, Science (choice of Chemistry/Biology/Physics), Social Studies (choice of History/Geography/Technology), and Art (choice of Visual Arts/Dramatic Arts). To supplement their studies and replace PE, students have a full-day course called Combat Studio up to three times a week, with the days varying depending on the student's element.

Regular class hours are from 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM from Monday to Saturday. Students are expected to check in on time at homeroom dressed in proper uniform first thing in the morning and then be at their designated classes for the duration of the day. Some students may have spare slots in their timetable; such students are to remain respectful to the presence of ongoing classes.

Full uniform is defined as a dark green blazer over a white button down shirt and grey pants or skirt, paired with black or brown shoes. In addition, students all have a striped tie corresponding to their element, although this may be substituted with a similarly striped bow or cravat.

RP Rules

- Due to popular request, we now have an art section! Scroll down a little bit past this post to find it.

- We now have a Chatzy! It is here. The password is stem (all lowercase).

- This is a literate RP. While I do not expect 3k text walls from everybody, please make an effort to put around six solid sentences in your post. Combat posts or rapid dialog within conversations may be excused from this rule, but one-liners are still not allowed. When in doubt, consult the person you are interacting with over PM or chat to see if there are any things you can collaborate on.

- Activity will be enforced. Unless otherwise noted or warned about in advance, interactions will move on within two weeks of that interaction’s last post. (This is the only rule I am not immune to.)

- No “Nonsensical” characters, as I like to call them. My definition is somewhat strict around that: No sues, but also no gimmicks like accidentally killing their family.

- No godmodding unless offered permission.

- Stay true to the lore. You shouldn’t need to use magic without initiating a sync, for instance. Feel free to ask me questions on the topic or over chat.

- Post sheets here when this is approved. I don't really like PMs, sorry. ^^

Username: Gildraug

Name: Aline Natalia Álvarez

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Straight

Appearance: [X]

Aline stands 170cm (5'7") tall and has a round, pear shaped, stout body with visible curves especially around her bosom. Her skin is lovely brown, like coffee beans, and her hair is frizzly, dark brown and reaches her back, but is usually on a skillful braid to avoid any unnecessary tangles. Aline has a round, friendly face with full lips and chestnut brown eyes with thick eyebrows, giving her a slight frowning and angry look at all times. Aline has some pale, thin scars here and there on her body, permanent reminders of the harsh life at the ghetto and a memento of her hard work, but she wears them with a some sort of a grim pride. Aline wears her Branch on the bobble which holds her hair in braid and might absentmindedly play with it, when lost in thought or thinking hard.

Aline likes to wear huge long-sleeved shirts but rolls the sleeves up to her elbows. She prefers to wear high waist shorts into where she tucks her shirt and wears sandals with them. Her wardrobe colors circle around pale purple, light brown, and sky blue. Aline wears little to no jewelry as she never had the money for them, but does have simple silvery studs on both of her ears. Aline also has eyeglasses - they have thick, black rims which highlight her lively eyes and give her a little nerdy look.

Her suit is always perfectly ironed and taken care of, as she finds it boosting her self-confidence when she can walk with a well cared suit.

Personality: Aline has little need for friends or any social interaction at all and she doesn't even wish to have any; she's happy enough with a nice pile of books, a good cup of tea, and some soft music playing in the background on a rainy day. Aline is fiercely independent and likes to work on her own and on her own pace, making her a poor team worker. She is, however, quite the excellent leader with her steady, yet quick way of thinking and a habit of taking care of things in an orderly manner. Aline prefers to rely on logic and intuition rather than emotions, especially during fights and absolutely hates hassle and disorder. She has some troubles with getting friends and holds distrust towards new people, but doesn't exactly hate anyone. Aline prefers to stay as far as possible from all drama and events, and feels tired after socializing a few hours.

After getting to know her better, one finds a soft inside to the hard outcore. Aline is infinitely patient and is an excellent listener; she reads people with her sharp gaze and makes quietly her own opinions about peoples' personalities and their habits, a tiny little thing she does all the time. Aline is also extremely smart with her mind, especially with mathematical subjects such as physics and math, and reads a lot. She also has a sharp and accurate tongue which she doesn't fear to use if she's lashed at, but prefers to stay quiet and cold if someone is talking smack about her.

History: All her life Aline had been staring at the shining building spires of Rio de Janeiro, while living in a regular cement house at the ghetto areas with her family, the electric cables and laundry lines crisscrossing the sky. Her family was very poor, her father Raul drinking away their money every time he was jobless - which was too often - and their mother Luana too ill to do work regularly. Aline's big sister Betina took care of the house and the family to her best skill, leaving the house at four in the morning and returning around eleven in the evening, all this time working or in school. During this time, Aline took care of their little brother Mateus and tried to help around the house. When Aline was old enough to apply for jobs, she did so without a moment's hesitation, easing the workload on her sister. This allowed both to focus on school much better while going to work afterwards. Sometimes one of the sisters was without a job - then they had to tighten the belt and grit their teeth while living with their poverty. In school, Aline was never bullied - at least not straightforwardly. Nobody ever came to her nor talked to her, but at least she was left alone. She didn't feel bad or disappointed about it, since she had discovered the school's library and found her love for books there - Aline gave her time for the books, devouring their information like a sponge takes in water. The teachers thought well of her, as she got good grades and never spoke without permission in class, which was quite loud as it often was in the ghetto areas.

Slowly, their mother started getting better, which brought great joy to Aline and her siblings. Their father, on the other hand, couldn't seem to care less, spiraling downwards in the trap of alcohol, drinking every night and passing out on the sofa. This made the others worried that he might kill himself at this pace, so the family started hiding money from him, preventing him from buying more alcohol. Unfortunately, their father started turning aggressive because of this to the point he stroke his wife. After this event, their mother decided she would take no more sh't from this man and ordered him to get out of the house with his belongings. To everyone's surprise, he did just so, muttering curses as he left. Aline never saw him since, but she had never learned to love him enough to miss him that much, either. The joy of seeing their mother's face alike to that of a freed bird was worth more to Aline than the sorrow she could give to her excuse of a father.

When news of the Academy exams reached Rio, Betina got extremely excited. She was, too, a very bright mind in school, so she applied without a moment of thought, determined to get into the school. Aline also got excited from this chance, thinking this could help her family. Not to mention there would be a bigger chance of someone getting in from their family if she went, too! The sisters encouraged each other and promised that the one left behind would take care of the family. When the test results came in, none could've been more surprised: they both got in. But who would take care of the family? Mateus was way too young and their mother's health still wavering. Betina volunteered to stay, insisting so even though Aline opposed this decision; the eldest should go, of course! Betina had done so much for the family already! Not listening to her little sister, Betina withdrew her application and wished her sister all the luck in the world, without a trace of irony or toxic. So Aline ended up on the journey, full of hope yet feeling dread at the thought she has to meet a partner and become friends with them; but she has a wish she might learn to love other people like she loves books.

Element:  Earth

Branch Color: The color of latte coffee (#D59551) with mild yellow splotches (#F4F794) scattered across, like yellow leaves upon brown earth.

Weapon: Alrue - a long glaive with a dark, elegant blade at the end of the brown shaft. The metal doesn't seem to reflect sunlight, but absorb it instead and glow slightly on the inside. The shaft has a firm grip to it and is easy to wield, yet deals heavy blows when struck.

Armor: {Check Charahub for picture, can't link it here}

Aline wears a very sturdy and throughout armor, which covers her from head to heels. The armor is made of the same unreflecting dark metal, with the edges of the plates adorned with soft yellow or green colors. The armor fits her snugly, following her shapes and yet giving enough room for herself. This limits her movements, however, but Aline prefers to stay on the ground, sturdy and unmoving, like a stone set in earth. The armor is thick enough to withstand many blows, making Aline the 'tank' of the group, or the one who attracts the most of the damage while the others take care of the damage dealer. Aline wears a helmet, but it allows her to pull her braid out, her hair flowing behind her like a mane when she charges into battle, calculating meanwhile her best move.

Other: Has a book with her at all times, prefers to take turns in reading fiction and non-fiction, embracing many authors and genres - her favorite is sci-fi.

Username: Esko the Wolf

Name: Jessica Nadolski

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Demisexual (I got that right, right Pi?)

Appearance: She's big. And I mean big. She stands at a whopping 5'8", and still growing at a slow pace. She carries a significant amount of chub at her belly, but not so much that she cannot do anything. In fact, her amount of chub is decreasing slowly. Her skin is a light tan, with some hair on her arms and legs and freckles in some spots. Her hair is a dark dark brown, and sits on her shoulders. She has messy bangs that often get in her face, which she will try to move by blowing upwards. Her eyes are a hazel brown, with a green tint and some green spots throughout the brown. Her eyebrows are thickish, and of course the color of her hair. She has a sturdy build that can carry her weight well, and huge, I mean HUGE feet. Her face shows her emotions easily, making her a terrible liar. Also, she wears rectangle shaped glasses, with a green frame and various scratches on the surface.

She generally wears what she finds. She will grab a random shirt and pants according to weather, and since she can withstand the cold a bit better then most, she will often wear a T-shirt in the winter. Of course, this applies to when she is not in her uniform. Her branch is around her neck in a necklace, on a leather strip.

Personality:   She's a bit of an interesting person. She has an outer shell of trust issues and nervous, wrapping around a core of goofy and immature. She is generally a quiet and nervous person, even though she insists she is loud and brave. She is terrible with words, leading her to just shut up all the time. If there is a question she knows the answer to, she will just keep shut thinking people hate hearing what she has to say. Her self-esteem is low, often beating herself up for, well, everything. She keeps away from most, afraid of meeting an idiot like the ones she tries so hard to avoid. Because of many factors, she has huge trust issues, making her almost unfit for group operations. Her definition of idiot is a person who isn't very smart, doesn't even BOTHER to become smart despite good mental health, and is super defiant to superiors.

Get past her thick defenses, and you will behold a warm, bubbly and overly goofy center. She will be willing to help with anything and do many things when she is confident she can trust you. Anything art related, and you have her attention, unless it is stuff you learn in kindergarten. Look past the weird, and you have her good side. She is also kind of easily flattered, so if you compliment the art she consideres bad, she will give you a hug. Unless you smell. Her imagination is almost limitless, showing through her countless drawings and short stories. If you ask her about some of her creations, she will tell you everything about them if there is information avalible.

History: Her life has been complicated. When she was a small child, her mother's MS got worse, and her father ran into financial problems. With her, her older sis, and her sick mom, nothing was looking up, not to mention the house was falling apart. Seeing no other choice, he sent her mom to a nursing home and moved with the kids into Jess' grandparents' house. There, they lived for years.

When Jess was getting closer to her teen years, her dad met a woman after getting into a divorce with mom. They grew closer, and eventually into a romantic relationship. This time though, they felt like it was right, and Jess and her sis were alright with it. But a year later, things twisted. Her dad wanted to move in a home with his girlfriend. The thought of change scared her a bit, since she is not so good with big changes. But, by the time the move was completed, she had learned to accept the change, as well as consider her dad's girlfriend as a step-mom. When she got into the new school, she not only continued scouts and band, but joined the art club for the first time. She never did many other extra cirricular activities besides that, mostly because of her lacking in motivation.

In both school districts, she was harrased and teased for being, well, herself. The other kids treated her like she wasn't even there unless she tried interaction, and then she would get some nasty response. Kids would be hypocrites and do things they told her not to do, such as play on electronics during class and things of the like. In the new district, it was a litle less, but she was still overwhelmed by idiocy.

Often, she doodled on her math work and was left to draw. Since this happened, her imagination got a chance to grow, and she gained a sense of adventure. She always dreamed of being plucked from life onto some legendary quest, to escape from the worries of her life into a world of magic and endless possibilities. To slide out of grades and work into a land where she could finally act out her lore, her stories. And when the test oppertunity came, she took it, loving the idea of finally doing something of fantasy. She studied hard, despite her parent's dissaproval. Of course they did not want her to get hurt, but she wanted that fantasy sense and took the test anyway. When she passed, she celebrated while her parents groaned. But, she was packed and sent to the academy straight away. When she started hearing rumors of partnership and romance, she did not think they could be true. She was more concerned about fighting demons than possible partnership.

Element:  Earth

Branch Color: A milk chocolate brown

Weapon: It is a set of blasters, taking the shape of silver Eastern dragons that coil around her arms. Her right blaster shoots heavy rocks in different sizes and shapes, great for hitting a small weak spot. The other blaster can shoot whatever the combined element is, depending on who she pairs with.

Armor: It is obsidian black, with a white stripe in the middle intersecting with two dark strap things. Her shoulders each have a pad on them, as well as her knees. Her suit shows her sturdy build, as well as making her fat look less somehow. She has a helmet with two 'horns' jutting out of the side, with a dark visor to protect her eyes. It looks like there is a black plastic tube protecting her neck, and it is bumpy.

Other: That probably made no sense tongue.gif

Also, she eats. A lot. And did I forget to mention that she forgets stuff? A lot?

Username: Coryn02

Name: Daniel Clarkson

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Heteromantic heterosexual

Appearance: Daniel is fairly tall and thinly built, standing at about 165 cm. He is somewhat fit, but he does not appear as such. His most striking physical features are his deep green eyes and his dyed black hair. His hair is usually kept short due to parental restrictions and personal preference. Since he is far-sighted, he wears glasses to see things at close range. He usually puts his glasses away because they don't have much use outside reading. His casual wear is a long-sleeved shirt and jeans. Daniel is usually consistent in every respect with the dress code, and spares no expense to make sure he is wearing his school uniform exactly as he should. He wears his gem on a metal chain around his neck. Daniel's branch is tied around a cord, somewhat like a locket. He rarely, if ever, removes it.

Personality: Daniel is cordial and friendly to everyone he meets. He never tries to pick fights or break rules. He prefers finding a diplomatic solution to conflicts, but if he must fight he won't back out. He'll stand for something he believes is true until someone proves him wrong.

Daniel is also an uptight person who takes life very seriously, and cannot stand people who don't. He values rules and order in general, and works hard in everything he does. Daniel's good nature prevents him from lying for long, even if it's for a good reason.

He is a devout Catholic, but usually won't argue about religion with others if it can be helped. If the person who is doing anything to insult his beliefs continues to do so more than a few times, Daniel won't tolerate it for long and get mad at them. He isn't afraid to speak his mind, especially where religion is concerned.

While he has respect for rules, he won't allow them to limit actions he considers very minor or individual interpretation on how to solve problems. He has always been a very curious person, wanting to find out about everything he could. His parents never really tried to limit what he looked into, but would instead offer a bit of their perspective to try and gently nudge him in what they considered to be the right direction.

On the other hand, Daniel is somewhat strange. For someone so friendly he is used to working alone and will generally try to handle a problem by himself. He also tends to spout religious phrases when very distressed, as having something to concentrate on will take his mind off the issue at hand. Daniel also tends to overestimate his own abilities, sometimes leading him to tackle problems he can't handle. He hasn't had anything even remotely problematic happen in his life, so Daniel is not used to big problems. As such, if something goes very wrong he will probably not take it too well.

Element: Earth

Branch Color: Daniel's gem is a yellowish-brown ochre jewel, which seems to have some imperfections in it. These give it a cloudy, opaque appearance.

History: Daniel was raised alone in a British household by his devout Catholic parents. They taught him the goodness of the Lord and took him to church every Sunday. Tempered by these influences, Daniel grew up to be a bright and obedient student with a strong sense of morality. While they always required that he do his chores and homework as soon as he got home, Daniel's parents did not ask much more of him. He was overall very well-behaved and seldom got into trouble.

Daniel did very well in school, getting good grades in all of his courses. In particular, English was his best subject. However, the other students tended to isolate themselves from him because of his background. Daniel had a few friends, but he was not in any way what you would consider well-liked by everyone. To them, he was that one weird religious kid.

Mostly during the summer months, Daniel's family would often go hiking as a family activity. While never straying from the trail, they found it to be a good form of release from society's stressful environment. Daniel in particular responded so well to this that he now goes out every Saturday on foot to run errands for his parents, which has kept him reasonably fit. Their only conditions were that he had no other work to do at home and that he always let them know where he was going and when he'd be back.

When word came of the demons and then the Academy, Daniel was determined to take the test and affront what he saw as the apocalypse. When the test was sent to him, Daniel's mother had no intention of letting her son get himself killed and pleaded for him to reconsider. Daniel's father, on the other hand, decided that it was time he made his own decisions.

Weapon: Judgement - A staff made of dark ebony, wrapped around the grip with leather. Small crosses are carved into the two ends of the staff, which are capped in steel. The grip's ends are covered in sculpted birch wood, with the Latin inscription "God wills" carved in.

Armor: Daniel's synchronization armour is unexpected to say the least; it is a light gray robe with black long-sleeved shirt and pants underneath, with a white cross on the back of the robe. Daniel is also wearing gray gloves with white X symbols on the palms when synched. The hood is big enough that it partly obscures his face while it is up.

Other: The following is the Biblical quote that equates most to what Daniel will experience in the roleplay: "Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt." The double meaning refers to the future protectors and assailants of Earth, the stems and the demons. Daniel named his staff Judgement because he thinks of it as using God's justice to fight demons.

Username: Narvix

Name: Antonio Vallejo

Age: 16 years

Gender: Male

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Demi-Heterosexual/Gray-romantic

Appearance: Antonio has dark brown hair that falls in soft locks just above his ears and a bit long in the back. It remains in spikes that sweep back and out from hairgel. His eyes are a similar brown, set on a round face and beneath a deep brow and thick eyebrows. His nose is slightly wide, perpetually appearing as if his nostrils are flared. As a result of his Hispanic heritage, Antonio’s skin is somewhere between an olive and brown tone, darkened a couple shades from sunlight.

His build is sturdy with a broad chest, strong shoulders, and sturdy limbs. In height, he stands about 5'8". With faintly knobby fingers, Antonio has large hands and possesses a surprisingly light touch. He’s a bit on the heavy end but not enough to be considered noticeably overweight. Natural strength does not evade him though as most of it is muscle weight and he believes the rest to be in his belly (which does give him a small “potbelly”).

For clothing, he prefers to wear tank tops, shorts, and sneakers. He enjoys comfort but overheats too easily, making thin or minimal clothing rather desirable. However, he conforms to public modesty or dress requirements just fine despite the discomfort he might experience from being too hot, resulting in pristine uniforms or body-appropriate outfits. You won’t catch him wearing sloppy or ill-fitted clothes outside of his house. Lastly, his Branch can be found as a brooch pinned to his coat collar.

Personality: A lot of people notice Antonio’s seriousness first and his driven ambitiousness next. For all appearances, he doesn’t seem to understand humor very well but, in truth, he does. He just generally doesn’t find any of it exceedingly funny. A lot of his own humor can be awkward or dark, typically resulting in no laughs for either case. It’s really the reason why he doesn’t try often to make jokes.

He’s dedicated to his educational pursuits and strives to understand everything, to learn every last bit of knowledge he can obtain. He wants to be a teacher for future generations, especially for his baby brother. As such, he is very academically oriented and spends little time doing much else beyond attending classes, completing homework, and researching various subjects. Antonio much prefers reading a textbook or research journal when compared to going out and passing the time with some activity or another. Many might label him a stick-in-the-mud for his lack of humor and educational focus for this. He either brushes off such opinions or doesn’t hear them altogether.

He is a thoughtful person and all you have to do is get his attention. He’ll set down whatever he’s doing in order to listen to what you want to say. If you’re unsure, he’ll encourage you to speak with gentle prodding and smiles. However, you’re likely to get a response, even if you don’t want his opinion. Antonio isn’t blunt but, he doesn’t have much of a filter. While he doesn’t cuss to a ceaseless amount (he doesn’t really even cuss to begin with), he doesn’t always know when it’s best to leave something unsaid. Through this, he can end up hurting someone’s feelings without meaning to. Thankfully, his responses come slowly, giving people time to leave before he might say anything.

That’s not to say he has some sort of mental impediment. He just isn’t good with quick remarks and requires time to think of his words because English is a second language to him. Antonio prefers to take his time while speaking because it irritates him when he stutters or can’t find the right translation of the word he wants to say. Words are often taken literally so any exaggerations or overly dramatic phrases will stump him as he tries to work out the logic beneath. He’s not overly outgoing either so some social interactions will leave him baffled.

History: Born in Sinaloa, Mexico, Antonio and his parents moved to the States when he was 11 years old. Citizenship was not what they had for the first few years as it wasn’t easy to obtain. While his parents worked tirelessly to obtain citizenship, Antonio did everything they asked of him and avoided getting into any trouble as best as possible. When he was fourteen, his parents had saved enough to pay for the paperwork and processing needed to obtain citizenship. As Antonio learned English much more during school than his parents did through working, he taught them what he knew at home, helping them obtain a broken usage of the language.

Shortly afterwards, his brother was born. Obtaining citizenship had seen Antonio growing lazy in his education and work ethic. However, the birth of his brother saw that dedication returned as he found a new purpose for it. Driven with the idea of teaching his brother everything that he learned, Antonio returned to his former habits of working diligently in and out of school.

His parents also continued to work tirelessly in order to keep afloat in their home, leaving Antonio to care for his baby brother a lot of the time. He didn’t complain though and made it a point to strength his relationship, to hopefully become a proper role model and the support that his brother needed. As he discovered Heaven’s Gate Academy, he felt that it would be a wise idea to enroll and find out what he could learn there. Perhaps he’d be able to learn important information to teach his brother in order to get ahead in life later.

Element: Earth

Branch Color: A mingling of yellows and browns, similar to a tiger’s eye gem. [#FDD017 - #EAC117 and #AF7817 - #806517]

Weapon: Dual Beretta 9mm handguns with silencers. The magazine clips and silencers are a standardized black in color but the rest of the handguns vary in color based on Antonio’s partner’s element; red, blue, silver, or brown. The bullets themselves are magically created (requiring no additional magazines) and are either of Earth or a combined element.

Armor: Antonio’s armor highly resembles the gear worn by police officers. Dominantly dark brown in color, his armor takes shape in a basic uniform of a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and heavy-duty boots. Over his shirt is a Kevlar vest that allows protection from a minor range of projectiles and changes color with the element of his partner. Around his waist is a black belt with two holsters for his guns. Additional padding wrappings around his thighs and forearms. Black gloves cover his hands and a plastic visor protects his eyes. The visor is connected to a plain helmet that rests on his head.

Other: Right-handed.

Username: Fractional Pi Day

Name: Winifred Christabella Jones (“Fred”)

Age: 16

Gender: Demigirl (she/her)

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Aromantic asexual

Appearance: Fred stands at about 160cm, a little on the short side. Her skin is a light beige, dotted with occasional freckles near the bridge of her nose and her shoulders. She’s flat-chested with a thin and lanky build. Her thick straight black hair falls in spikes down to her chin, and is kept out of her eyes with a series of clips. Her face is heart-shaped and her features are thin, with hooded brown eyes and a small nose. Clothing-wise, she is almost always hidden behind layers of loose and comfortable clothing (even her uniform is two sizes up) and she owns an extensive collection of sweaters, shorts, and sneakers. Curiously, she also has a thing for cute accessories and is almost never seen without her trademark cat tights. Her Branch is set into the middle of a pendant in the shape of the Mandelbrot set.

Personality: At first glance, Fred is laid-back and approachable, although those who try to get to know her quickly realize that her casual attitude isn’t due to any desire to make friends, but rather an all-encompassing sense of apathy for all the world has to offer. She treats pretty much everything with the same lighthearted attitude, whether they be demons or schoolwork. She does like people, but in a purely theoretical way - she’ll go to parties, but only to sit in the back, sip a cold drink, and laugh at everyone else. If she’s persuaded to try or her life is in immediate danger, she reveals herself as a quick thinker and competent logician, but those occurrences are few and far between. Usually, she’s content to let others lead and throw occasional advice and sarcastic comments at the people who are actually trying.

When Fred does find something or someone she cares about, she’s almost violently passionate about it, and nothing can convince her to change her mind. Now that she’s out from under her parents’ thumbs, she has the opportunity to express it for the first time, and she’s absolutely refusing to hold it back any longer. Currently, the only thing that falls into that category is mathematics. Insulting or misunderstanding it within a two-kilometre radius of Fred will instantly gain her enmity and she may start throwing punches if one keeps doing it often enough, rules be damned.

History: Fred was born in a nondescript city in Ontario, Canada. Her mother was a first-generation Chinese immigrant, and her father was white. Despite the cultural differences, they had a lot in common: both had considerable wealth at their disposal, and both were willing to do whatever it takes to make their only child the most special kid in existence. Fred was surrounded by classical music and high literature even before she was born, and lived the first five years of her life under the constant supervision of her parents. Whenever she showed the slightest interest in anything, her parents took it as a sign that this was her special talent and bombarded her with questions and related gifts. She soon learned to associate curiosity with unwanted attention, and by the time she was let out into the real world, her attitude towards it was already set in stone.

In school, Fred didn't socialize much beyond what was absolutely necessary, and achieved carefully average marks in all her courses. She realized that her peers were free to express their own interests without the consequences she faced for doing the same, and she resolved to get away from her parents' influence as soon as possible. Her opportunity came sooner than she had expected, when the Heaven's Gate aptitude test arrived at her school. A boarding school, far away from home, would do the job perfectly. She signed up, and her parents only learned of it when she announced to them that she had already accepted the prestigious school's offer.

Element: Fire

Branch Color: Dark red (#C11B17)

Weapon: A dark red flintlock rifle that can shoot bullets of any element she is wielding. The metal parts are gold and filigreed with swirling patterns made to resemble flames. They’re loaded with a single shot when summoned but have to be reloaded manually; Fred usually ends up discarding them and summoning more.

Armor: Fred’s outfit consists of a black vest and matching pants tucked into a pair of dark red knee-length boots. She has a red belt around her waist, covered in the same gold filigree patterns as on her weapon, and matching bracers around her forearms. A red bandana covers the lower half of her face, although she usually pulls it down to her neck at the earliest opportunity.

Username: Lady_Lunevis

Name: Dae-sung Hyong { 홍 대성 }

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Demiromantic homosexual

Appearance: Standing at 182 cm (6'0") with traditionally Asian looks, Dae-sung has dark eyes and his black hair shaped into a bowl haircut, with a sideswept fringe and a round face. Tall and friendly, he can be described as a gentle giant--he is easily approachable and carries himself with an easygoing air. Not one to adorn themselves with jewerly, Dae-sung is as bare as he can be. He's not even sure he has ever owned a suit, much less worn one--completely different from his father, who is even seen without. Fond of beanies and with a charismatic smile, Dae-sung has a well-toned body through his hapkido training and large structure, which can seem at times overbearing if he's in an enclosed area. His arms are especially well off, as he focuses intensely in training and his favourite thing to do in a match is throw someone over his shoulder.

However, the way he dresses outside of battle is completely opposite; with his uniform, Dae-sung looks ready to apply for a job interview. Clean-pressed and crisp, his tie is always professionally done and his clothes are without wrinkles. His Branch is embedded into his silver watch that he wears on his right wrist, being left-handed.

Personality: At first glance, Dae-sung seems happy and carefree. Always with a smile etched permanently onto his face and a joke on his tongue, the witty youngster loves to cheer others up and be a shoulder to learn on. Due to this, he's well known throughout with a reputation for just being nice. Seemingly fearless, Dae-sung is a bit of a daredevil and won't back down from any dares directed at his person, making him popular and well-liked for his almost insane acts.

However, deep down lies an insecure child. Dae-sung has forced himself to grow up very quickly, and is harsher on himself than anyone else. Secretly, he blames himself for his sister's demise and will punish himself as so, wanting to repent for what cannot be undone. Due to this and his upbringing, Dae-sung developed a fear of trusting others--he will make friends and do normal things, yes, but never has anyone grown close enough with him to know about his family and background. Instead of one close friend, Dae-sung has twenty people he barely knows other than how they like to party and that they're bad at science. Once someone gets too close, Dae-sung freaks out and shuts them out completely without warning--which leads to a lonely life.

He is also a horrible teamworker--afraid of failing someone or letting them down, Dae-sung would rather act independently rather than in a group and as such has trouble following orders. He's afraid that if anyone trusts him, he will mess up and destroy that delicate bond, and so Dae-sung would rather work alone to avoid his biggest fears from becoming reality.

To himself, he is a horrible mental coach, always pushing himself to the limit and beyond even when it may be self-destructive or unhealthy. He wants to be the very best to avoid failing anyone--anything--ever again, and so will go to extremes to reach his impossibly high standards, of which he almost always falls flat upon.

Deep down, he holds the dream of being able to see his mother again, to sip tea with her like they did so long ago and discuss normal things. Holding his fantasy of such a day close to his heart, Dae-sung has a fondness for fairytales.

History: As a child, he witnessed a tragic, unfortunate event--his baby sister, who their parents had left in his care, crawled out onto the street and was hit by an incoming car while the then-young Dae-sung had been distracted. Since that day, Dae-sung has been in and out of therapy to try and recover from the shocking event. Though his parents have never blamed him for her death, a certain kind of coldness settled between them in the wake of his sister's death, and he never received the loving care that some parents showed their kids as it was ultimately too painful for his parents to move past.

Engulfed in their sorrow, Dae-sung's father moved back to Korea and threw himself into his work headfirst--he worked from day until night, making money for the family and keeping himself busy from grief. Now living with only his mother, the woman threw herself into a headfirst spiral of depression so extreme that Dae-sung was the one who was responsible for making meals and keeping house. Because of this, he is fiercely independent and still loves his mother very much so--on days when she can clear her head, she'll invite Dae-sung to sit with her as the two enjoy some tea and talk about interesting subjects, be it Korean fairytales or food recipes. In an attempt to cheer up his mother, Dae-sung did well in school and would eagerly bring home good grades and fun stories to try and cheer her up. They lived in somewhat peaceful harmony until Dae-sung began high school--the sight of her son growing up was not good on his mother's fragile mentality, and the woman would become even more withdrawn and prone to screaming fits from time to time. Helpless, the young Korean boy reached out to his withdrawn dad and begged for a way to help his mother--as a result, his father drew up a plan: his mother would be going back to Korea for constant care, and Dae-sung would stay behind and make himself a future in hopes of brightening up his family once again. After his mother left, Dae-sung was left on his own, and the boy felt completely alone.

He threw himself into martial arts--his father was surprised upon Dae-sung's initial request, but granted it to him nonetheless--he began training in the art of hapkido, finding it a healthy way to release pent-up anger and stress. Since then, he has now been training for about five years and is well-versed, and his favourite place to be is the dojo.

When he heard of the academy testing, Dae-sung applied with nothing to lose. Admittedly, the thought of fighting against demons makes him nervous, but--if he can do one good thing for the universe, then maybe it'll forgive his wrongdoings . . . ?

Element:  Fire

Branch Color: Venetian Red #C80815

Weapon: 손오공 - Sun Wukong { Monkey King } - Sun Wukong takes the appearance of two Vajra, made of brass with elegant designs and shaped to fit the hand. In battle, Dae-sung uses hapkido fighting arts to overpower his enemies by force, and will rush into battle without much thought. Since he has been training since a young age, Dae-sung is efficient on the battlefield.

Armor: Dae-sung's armour reflects his fighting style--loose and free, easy to move around in. His set consists of loose fighting pants and a vest for protection, though Dae-sung is not above shedding this should it get in the way.

Other: He has a habit of cracking anything he can--be it neck, back, or knuckles. He'll do it anytime, anywhere, as soon as the urge gets to him. His muscles also get stiff very easily, so during his spare time he'll be either giving himself a massage or stretching in an attempt to unravel knots.

He prefers to be called Dae-sung--only very close friends can call him Dae.

Username: Backup77

Name: Teresa Silva

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Panromantic Demisexual

Appearance: Black in color, Teresa’s hair is cut to different lengths. While the bangs barely reach her eyebrows, the locks that frame her face reach down past her nose. Most of it, however, is cut to mid-back length. There is a slight curl to it, but the weight of the hair drags itself down. This causes the curl to only be visibly at the ends. She often ties it back in a rough ponytail, but it’s not unheard of for her to leave it down. Her skin tone is light brown. Round, deep brown eyes are set into a heart-shaped face. Her fingers are long and narrow, and the fingertips of her left hand have small calluses on them. A lack of physical activity in recent years has left her with few muscles, but she is naturally slender. This leaves her with a light build, with average curves. She’s a bit tall, standing at around 5’ 6”.

A light pair of glasses, rimless on the bottoms of the lenses, sits perched upon her nose. Once, she dropped them, leaving a small chip on the left lens. Though her ears are pierced, she rarely wears jewelry except for the thick, silver-chained necklace that she uses to hold her Branch. The only other accessory that she constantly wears is a large, expensive, black pair of headphones. These she always keeps either around her neck or over her ears, playing a wide variety of classical and popular music. Her uniform is a bit disheveled, her face is makeup-free, and her overall appearance seems to suggest that she doesn’t care all that much about her looks.

Personality: Teresa is, at least at first glance, usually a happy person. With a rebellious, carefree attitude, she prefers to look on the bright side of things. Sometimes it’s not always easy for her to do so, however. Her emotions fluctuate easily, and it’s easy to make her unhappy, but her optimism means that she’s usually happy again by the next day. Since being accepted to Heaven’s Gate, she’s been very hopeful. Classes are difficult and everything’s unfamiliar, but she feels that she finally has a goal in her life. Fighting demons, saving the world, all that heroic stuff that she loves. However cheesy that sounds, she truly does want to help people. In interacting with people, she can be quite sarcastic and confident, with little of the usual teenage awkwardness.

This, at times, comes off as arrogance. She tends to think highly of herself, and can make foolish mistakes because of it. Teresa is the type of person who’ll act before they think, and then not think about it much afterwards. She has little in the way of a filter, and sometimes says stuff that hurts others, despite not meaning to. Furthermore, it’s difficult for her to admit being wrong, so she goes on the defensive and will insist that she was in the right. Even once she’s been convinced that what she did wasn’t okay, she’s not likely to show much remorse about it. In short, she’s less aware of her biases than others and has little motivation to fix it.

Feeling like she’s useless or doesn’t have a purpose is something that she can’t stand, and she gets restless if that is the case. She needs to have goals to set her sights on, and once she’s chosen to do something she won’t give up easily. Even if it would be logically better to quit, she’s prideful enough to keep going. She hates working on things that she’s not interested in; in the case of schoolwork and such, she’ll grudgingly work on it as she feels like she doesn’t have any other choice. However, she sometimes comes off as lazy to others. Her room is a mess, she has little respect for authority, and she has a tendency to slack off. In truth, she tends to focus on a few things while caring little for others.

History: Teresa’s never really got along well with her parents. Against her wishes, they put her into volleyball and soccer, depending on the time of year. She didn’t like the physical activity, and was quite vocal about it, but here wasn’t much she could do about it. Her parents, being avid sports fans, were of the opinion that everyone should be kept physically fit and be able to play different games well.

However, having always been interested in music, she wanted to learn how to play an instrument. Her older sister seemed to be good at everything, including the piano. At that age, Teresa greatly admired her sister, though the admiration faded into sibling rivalry as she grew older. Teresa tried piano lessons herself, but she never really got into it and the lessons were soon dropped. Though she liked to listen to her sister play, piano wasn’t something that she herself enjoyed. However, she still wanted to learn how to play an instrument, so she talked to her parents. They were apprehensive about signing her up for more lessons after she quit piano, but after much begging and promises they agreed to let her play the violin.

Soon, she found that she loved it. She practiced every day, leaving her parents shocked to see her so passionate about something that wasn’t a TV show. With so much time taken up by violin and sports practice, however, she had little time for things such as chores and socialization. She and her parents made a deal; if she could keep her grades up and continue to practice violin, she could stop playing basketball and volleyball. Though she was unhappy with the grades part of it, Teresa accepted.

Working carefully on each of her assignments, she quickly brought her grades up to the minimum requirement.

As her grades went up, her parents’ expectations went up as well. They told her that her grades needed to be higher still, until she was near the top of her class. As the years went by, her workload and the difficulty of classes rose, and she had difficulty keeping up. While she continued to work, her social life suffered and she began to blame her parents for this. When she heard of the entrance exam to Heaven’s Gate she was elated- who wouldn’t want to go fight demons and control the elements? A secondary reason why she wanted to go, however, was to get away from home and school. She felt that there was too much pressure to succeed, and she wanted to go somewhere else and, in a way, start over.

Element:  Fire

Branch Color: Deep Red (#af0101)

Weapon: Teresa’s weapon is an oversized violin bow, at about six feet in length. The main portion of it appears to be made of a deep, reddish brown wood. The string, razor sharp, is more like a thin wire than any sort of bowstring. The frog is mainly black, and is inlaid with small circles of orange, red, and green fire opal. The metal pieces of the bow are made of gold, and the entire bow is well polished.

Armor: Her armor is made primarily to be lightweight, while still offering a small amount of protection. She wears a loose fitting shirt with long sleeves. Thin orange plates are sewn into place to cover her shoulders and parts of her arms, and similar plates are held by leather straps to cover her chest, thighs, and shins. The plates have a triangular, sleek design, with pointed joints. Thick, swirling patterns of color cover the plates, either silver, red, green, or blue (depending on her partner’s element). She also wears a pleated skirt and a cape, each of which reach a little past her mid-thigh. All of the cloth is a deep red, the color of her branch.

Username: Doctortear

Name: Alyssa “Alistair” Dumont Greenwood

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Pansexual/Panromantic

Appearance: Standing at around 5’6” (171cm), Alistair is average in height if not a little on the tall side. His Native American heritage is prominently shown through his smooth dark brown skin with various scars stretched across his body but with few other blemishes beyond that. He has a pear body build with his athletic lifestyle shown through various profound muscles on his limbs and flat chest. His head is shaped like an inverted triangle with sharp facial features; a collection of speckled freckles gather around his face. He has a beauty mark above the right side of his pointed-edged lips. A prolonged scar from a mountain climbing accident crosses across the left side of his neck in a long thin line. Alistair’s lean eyebrows are a light shade of black, showing the true color of his dyed hair. His rough, semi-spiky hair has been shaved down on right side with the rest being  pushed down the left side of his head, reaching the nape of his neck. The hair has been dyed an ombre blue with the roots being colored a deep navy that slowly gradients to an electric blue on the tips. Light, but striking, close-set, brown cognac eyes are fitted upon his visage. Alistair has small studs that act as earrings and cuffs, normally in the form of dragons or marine life, gripping the rim of his ears; while only his right ear has a cuff, both ears have the same small, shiny, stud earrings in them. A silver chain necklace, that Alistair seemingly never takes off, hangs from around his neck and dips down into his shirt. He has two black open gloves with the right glove having his Branch clearly displayed on the top of his hand. When not being draped in the academy's uniform, Alistair dresses loudly in, vividly colored clothing that is loose for comfort although he always makes sure the binder gripping his chest is unseen when in public.

Personality: With creativity practically oozing out of his fingers, Alistair is a peculiarly innovative person to be around. He is an ingenious visionary who paints the world around him; he enjoys painting wild scenery and likes to surround himself with various pieces of art. He's pretty laid-back, not letting his problems or other people's get under his skin. He holds little regard for what others think about him. He is highly sarcastic, throwing around jokes even in the most serious of circumstances; Alistair's sarcasm can act as a crutch at times, leaving the impression that he uses humor to handle situations he is not comfortable with. Despite being absolutely horrid with long-term commitment, Alistair is rather flirtatious and will not hesitate to flirt with just about anyone he sees unless said person is uncomfortable with such advances. Alistair is quite magnanimous and acts cordial to just about everyone he meets although such a demeanor is hard to keep up when Alistair is in the presence of someone he doesn't particularly fancy. He is a charismatic fellow who enjoys to be in the company of others, especially if they are anything like himself.

Alistair is a compulsive liar which wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't so darn loquacious. He is constantly talking and telling bizarre stories which can either be wildly true or completely phony. Precious few can tell if he's lying or not since he lies just as casually as he tells the truth. Drama is something that Alistair absolutely adores. He loves to throw a dramatic flare onto a situation or exaggerate an aspect of whatever story he's telling. He is an idealist, holding fantasies of a better world close to his heart and favoring emotional solutions than logical ones. He heavily respects people who are allocentric and wish to put forth felicific ideals. Although Alistair doesn't like to admit it, he holds grudges for a long time, much longer than he's willing to let out. He doesn't try to indulge such grudges, but he cannot help himself from having them. Alistair's loyalty is hard to obtain, especially since he's terrified of getting into a long-term commitment; however, once someone has gained his loyalty, it will be astronomically difficult to break such a bond. Though by no means a genius, Alistair is quite intellectual which may surprise those who judge him based on his appearance alone. Alistair himself does not judge based on personality or appearance alone. Instead, Alistair perceives people purely on their actions and forms his opinion upon them depending on that.

History: Born in a small unimportant town in South Dakota, one might think Alistair lived a particularly quiet life. Such assumptions are only partially correct. The Greenwood family was rather large with five different households spread out around the country. Alistair lived with his ever hardworking mother, a nervous step-father trying to work multiple jobs, two energetic younger twin siblings, one being a sister and the other a brother, a brood of Silkie chickens, and three large, slobbering, forever-loving dogs. Despite his family being in the region for generations, Alistair experienced racism from his peers which has hardened him over the years. The fact that his mother struggled, and still does, with handling the idea of her daughter Alyssa actually being a boy who prefered the name Alistair didn’t exactly help. It took years for Alistair and the rest of the family to coax her into accepting who Alistair was; however, that hasn't stopped the occasional cissexism on her part along with some really insensitive comments which has, in turn, strained their relationship.

In school, Alistair was one of the more popular kids. His charismatic nature and tendency to throw out jokes at just the right moments made him one of the, if not the very most, well-known children at his school. Over the years, he collected a small horde of friends, most of which he was not close with but hung out with nevertheless. Throughout middle and high school especially, Alistair dated with a bunch of people of every background you could think of. None of these relationships developed into anything serious, mostly because of Alistair's reluctance to commit, but they were frequent enough to insure that Alistair was dating more days than he was single. During the summer, and on rare occasions on weekends as well, Alistair spent his time climbing on the various mountains within his state; during the summer, Alistair would travel out to different states to climb their mountains as well if the family had the money to spare for such an expensive trip. He'd often use the sights he saw when on top of a mountain as inspiration for his paintings. Alistair painted just about anything that popped into his mind, but mountains and landscapes were his specialty. He'd often sell his paintings at his mother's gift shop in order to help raise money for the family.

Alistair had heard of Heaven’s Gate Academy and its fight against strange beasts that crawled out of mysterious portals around the planet, but he didn’t particularly care that much about it. He didn’t even stop to consider joining it until his local school began to heavily encourage students to try testing to join the esteemed academy. At first, Alistair brushed off the idea of voluntarily taking tests, but once he noticed that some of his friends were going to try it out, coupled with the thought that having magical powers would be pretty spectacular,  he decided to try it as well. At first, Alistair didn’t take the testing terribly serious, after all, he was only taking it because his friends were; however, as he began to learn more about the testing and Heaven’s Gate Academy, he began to actively study and prepare for the test. His earnest adherence shocked his peers and family alike, bringing forth comments as to when he was going to just give up and move on with life. Alistair however did not just give up and continued to work hard when testing even when all of his friends dropped out. He saw the testing as a challenge that needed to be conquered and if he was going to take the test than he might as well go full out. When Alistair actually passed the test, everyone, included himself, was astonished. He took pride in his success but was ill prepared to leave his family to join the academy. The tension between him and his family after he got accepted was rough, but he did not let it affect him or his choice to attend Heaven's Gate. Before Alistair left to head to the academy, his grandmother handed him a miniature Ogala Latoka flag as a reminder of where he came from. He gladly took the flag with him, informing his grandmother that he would cherish it every moment he was away.

Element: Air

Branch Color: Mint Cream

Weapon: Two twin daggers made from pressurized air. The handle consists of two intertwining lines within the middle of the blades. A long curving blade protrudes from the top of the handle and a smaller, but pointed, blade juts out of the bottom. Both blades are cut in the middle, efficiently making a slice between each blade. The top proportion is significantly larger than the bottom but is more blunt while the bottom extension is far sharper and more narrow than its counterpart.

Armor: When synched, Alistair gains a rogue-like attire. A pine green, open jacket with a leather-like texture hangs on his body. Various buttons are gathered on the white lining on the edges of its slips. The jacket's collar is popped open, covering Alistair's neck.  A light gray, linen undershirt can clearly be seen underneath the jacket. Alistair's necklace is still visible and digs into the dip of his shirt. He has three separate brown belts on his person. One belt is stretched across his chest, another holds his brown pants in place, and the last straps over the second belt. He retains his open gloves but they grow in length, reaching to a little below his elbows. Long, eloquent, brown boots with intricate patterns carved into them reach up to his knees. Although Alistair's armor's base color is green and brown, it generally has a tint of whatever color his partner's Branch is. Certain parts of his armor such as his gloves, the lining of his jacket, and his undershirt are more affected by such tinting than, say, his jacket.

Other: Alistair got his necklace from his little sister when he was six. There is a pendant at the end of the necklace but he takes care to make sure no one sees it. He has a talent for painting and is surprisingly good for his age. He’s also a decent singer and can do some pretty radical knife tricks.

Username: Narvix

Name: Latoya Bennings

Age: 15 years

Gender: Female

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Pansexual/Panromantic

Appearance: With dark chocolate colored skin, Latoya has an average build. She stands at about 5'5" with black hair and dark maple eyes. Her hair is shoulder length and often sports one or two thin braids among the free-draping strands. There is a bit of a wave to her hair but nothing that gets too out of hand. Her shoulders are narrow and her face is slightly triangular with a pointed chin. Full lips, high cheekbones, and a slender neck add to her physical attractiveness. With mostly subtle features, she has soft skin and more of a column shape.

Possessing few developed muscles, Latoya has meat on her bones but small breasts and (in her opinion) no butt. Her nails are neatly maintained and often sport vibrant colors with floral designs. She has long, nimble fingers on delicate hands. Three silver rings adorn the fingers of each hand; two for each ring finger and the third on her thumbs. They aren’t very decorative beyond a few engraved lines of various swirls. However, she loves them enough to never been seen without them.

Latoya likes wearing long pants and v-neck shirts or tank tops. Her favorite footwear is a pair of ankle-high sneakers and she will, once in awhile, sport a favorite coat. On occasion, especially if she wants to give a good first impression, she’ll wear a colorful skirt and nice blouse. Her clothes are never without designs, phrases, or brand names. Typically of the flowery or inspirational sort, her shirts and pants can often sport various amounts of sequins/rhinestones. In her hair resides a wide clip that also holds her Branch.

Personality: Latoya is very much a dreamer. She enjoys setting goals for herself and imagining almost impossible futures of glamour. She prefers to think of a bright and successful life for herself. Sometimes, she gets caught daydreaming instead of paying attention to something important. She’s passionate about her dreams, especially those of being a famous chef with her own restaurant one day. She hates it when someone makes fun of her dreams or tries to undermine her confidence in achieving them.

Latoya is a sensitive girl who is able to often detect any changes in someone else’s demeanour. She isn’t always able to tell but she tries her best to notice when her friends are upset or something is troubling their mind. Having a short temper, she can be easily hurt or amused and never fails to express herself with a loud voice.  Some might call her dramatic or overly energetic.

With all of the dreaming she does, some have called her naive and, in truth, she often is. Latoya prefers to ignore many troubles of the world and live in the sparkling image that she fashioned in her thoughts. Her experiences are more positive ones than they are negative, adding to the gilded view that she has. Similarly, it doesn’t help when her mother has shielded her from many things as she grew up.

Largely, she’s self-conscious, always trying to boost her physical appearance with padded bras and pretty make-up. Throughout an entire day, she won’t stop fidgeting. She’ll pick at her clothes, redo her hair, touch up her make-up, and adjust her grudgingly, tiny breasts. It’s a seemingly neverending struggle for her as she only wants to be accepted. The way to be accepted, from what she’s been fed through media or social interactions, is to have a body which she does not naturally possess. And that upsets her to no end.

She doesn’t handle stress very well. When faced with something unpleasantly challenging or that upsets her, she will cook instead of trying to find a way to resolve the problem. This has also made her into a nervous eater when she’s stressed if she can’t find anyone else to eat what she’s cooked up. If she can’t make use of a kitchen and ingredients, she winds up staying awake through the night, finding all sorts of recipes to make.

History: Latoya was born to a woman in her late twenties, before her parents were married. Her father was a few years younger than her mother and very, very short with a personality that always left a lasting impression. However, he died shortly before their wedding date and her mother hasn’t held a long relationship since. Growing up, her mother focused as much attention as she could on Latoya but, living the life of a Pediatrician, it wasn’t as much as either would have liked. So, for many years, Latoya was mostly raised by her grandmother.

With the home dynamic she had, she grew closest to her grandmother and savored every moment with her mother. Once she became of schooling age, she saw less of her mother when her school-days ran through her mother’s off-days. But, Latoya never faulted her mother for how absent she was. She understood the need to work a job as successful as a Doctor’s. Still, it never prevented the envy she would sometimes feel towards children spending time with their parents.

As Latoya got older, the savored bond between her and her mother eventually dwindled as work soon became an obsession for the woman. When her grandmother passed after she turned eight, Latoya withdrew even further from her mother and spent much of her free time in her room. For awhile, books were her distraction until she learned to cook. First done out of necessity, cooking soon became much more enjoyable and a means for her to explore her talents. In a way, after hitting puberty, cooking also helped to make her feel better whenever she was depressed about her lacking appearance.

Latoya kept to herself through grade school and middle school, constantly looking up new recipes to try and personalize when she wasn’t busy with homework. When she turned 12, her mother signed a contract to work with the local hospital. No longer an independent Pediatrician, her mother started coming home more often and started working to repair her relationship with her daughter. Thrilled, Latoya heavily involved her mother in her passion for cooking.

When she discovered Heaven’s Gate Academy, her mother wasn’t entirely pleased with the prospect of Latoya attending but the girl was adamant about getting in. She wanted to see what else she could do beyond cooking and, filled with the idea of a glistening world, wanted to help make a brighter future possible. So when it came time for the exams, Latoya studied hard.

Element: Air

Branch Color: Two spiraling lines of pearly white and emerald green twisting inwards towards the center of the gem. [#5FFB17 and #EAE0C8]

Weapon: Cyclone Whispers; twin fans with steel prongs that protrude from the cloth like knives. The fans have a simple, painted design with colors to depict the flow of a breeze. Their wooden edges are painted green with floral designs in white.

Armor: The biggest thing you’ll notice is the sheer amount of frills in her outfit. Dressed in something like a leotard and frilly skirt, Latoya’s armor certainly has a flowery design. Mostly a forest green in color, the top half of her outfit has thin straps on the shoulders and a low, v-neck collar. Along the collar and straps are cream-colored puffs that almost look like flowers made from cloth. On her sides are silver plates of flexible metal. On her shoulders and upper arms are similar pieces of metal, placed to maximize movement while increasing defense.

The lower half is a more expressive story. Layered with several frills, the colors alternate between cream and forest green. Metal plates are concealed throughout the skirt. Covering her legs is a pair of black, knee-high socks and upon her feet are forest green, steel-toed heels. Streaks of cream coloring highlight her socks. Depending on her partner’s element, the cream coloring throughout her outfit varies: blue for water, red for fire, yellow for earth, and cream for air.

Other: She’s right-handed. Latoya has great cooking skills but a nervous habit of wondering whether people like her food or not.

Username: Gildraug

Name: Nilma Elea Lunden

Age: 17

Gender: Genderfluid (pronouns depend on Nilma’s mood, but won't get offended if wrong ones are used)

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Ace

Appearance: [X]

Nilma stands 180cm (5'10") tall and has a very light skin thanks to her Nordic heritage, which burns very easily in the sunlight and turns red. She, however, has surprisingly dark freckles sprinkled all across her face, neck, chest, and arms and considers these to be her beauty flaw - when she thinks about her appearance at all. Nilma has high cheekbones and a narrow face, giving her a very pixie-like appearance. Her fairly large eyes are a mixture of green and blue, with very light, almost invisible eyelashes and eyebrows above them. Her messy hair, matching her eyebrows, is light blonde and cut pixie short, obviously by a non-professional (*cough* herself *cough*) and sticking into every direction thanks to the slight curliness it has. The tall girl has some muscles beneath her skin but is far from being built and is quite flat-chested - which she doesn't mind. Usually.

Nilma prefers to wear loose and comfy, light brown capri pants and a huge t-shirt or a tank top, alongside so worn sneakers you could swear they will fall off any given moment. Her wardrobe color scheme is around greens, blues, and beige. She also wears fingerless gloves and a dark blue scarf, giving her a slight rebel-like appearance. As an addition to this, she has three piercings on both ears, where a various collection of circlet earrings hang and one piercing on her right eyebrow. She wears her Branch in a wide, leathery bracelet on her left hand.

Her uniform is usually clean, but it might have some wrinkles on it which she tries to smooth out when she thinks nobody is watching - her tie knot is done wrong, which she also tries to miserably fix. She feels slightly uncomfortable with the uniform but knows it is necessary to be worn and tries not to complain about it at all.

Personality: Should there be silence, it will be gone the second Nilma steps into the room. Overly-enthusiastic and excited about everything, one gets the impression this person has absolutely no self-control and is mentally around seven. If even that old. She’s a bright, hyper-friendly social butterfly who finds nothing more fun than getting to meet new people and spend time with them. It would seem she’s reckless and has no sense of protection as she throws herself into every situation with a shriek of glee, enjoying the sense of adventure and action. That would be fine if she learned from her mistake, but so far, she has waved off all warnings and recommendations with a good laugh and a wave of her hand. In school she had sometimes troubles focusing in class - sitting still and listening silently wasn't her thing. Thankfully her teacher understood her problem and permitted Nilma to bring a stress ball to school which she could abuse while listening.

On the other hand, Nilma very insecure about what others think of her, always apologizing if someone gives her critique of any sort. Nilma’s constantly aware she’s probably annoying the people around her, but cannot help herself from talking and being so loud. Given time and some firm, yet gentle words, Nilma will calm down and be a surprisingly good listener. She takes critique very harshly and cannot stand the mistakes she does. Nilma can be quite impatient and might accidentally snap at people if something doesn't go to her bidding - this is highlighted during battles and school projects.

Now in school, Nilma feels like at home and has no trouble about being there. She's always ready to meet new people and is usually the first one to go talk to someone, greeting the quiet person in the class or the one to whom nobody dares to go to talk. Nilma has a tendency of acting like a mother-hen or then like an absolute child; there's no in-between as this ball of energy bounces towards you, gives a good look and then decides shall she be the elder or the younger one. She usually guesses right, especially with the guys. Nilma has decided to make an effort to make more girl friends and not only guy friends. Not all girls are the same like those with whom she had shared most of her childhood, but she still has her worries.

History: Living in a family with four older brothers and one younger brother (Otto, Ravn, Stan, Ville, and Elmer; Otto being the eldest and five years older than Nilma), Nilma never really “learned to become feminine”; she always preferred an intensive football match over playing with dolls, chose to get herself muddy in the rain while catching worms and snails rather than stay inside and watch some Disney Princess movies, and loved to run in the forest with her brothers, pretending sticks were swords and they were great warriors running after a dragon who had kidnapped their youngest brother. Her older brothers were very protective of their little sister and Nilma in turn was very protective of her little brother, always ready to hear his worries when his favorite toy truck had gone missing. Of course the siblings had their quarrels from time to time, but never could they hold a grudge for longer than an afternoon, ending the evening with games and laughter and sneaking some sweets from the dry cabinet under their parents noses. Nilma’s parents, her Swedish father Linus and Finnish mother Pihla, were hard-working people with decent jobs. They gave as much time as they could to their children, especially during the vacations when they would go hiking into the nature that had been preserved for the hobby for days or even weeks, but alas, the children had to depend on each other more and more as the years passed by. The chores were divided equally although the elder brothers tried to put more of the work on the younger ones, but each learned how to take care of the house at an early age. The guys agreed Nilma cooked the best food, but her mother thought otherwise, of course.

Nilma didn’t realize how different from other girls she was before going to school. Ever since first grade she preferred to hang out with the boys, who, after a while of uncertainty (girlgerms were a danger at that age), accepted her as one of their own. The girls in her class, however, treated her as somewhat of a freak and never asked to play with her and actually told Nilma to scram off if she came near them. She didn't understand the inhospitality at that time, but looking back she understands why; to her classmates, she was a girl hanging out with guys, which was just weird! In school Nilma liked to study hard, more for the joy of seeing her parents’ happy faces and looks of approval from her brothers than for the actual grades. This helped her to keep her motivation high up and even though her parents always encouraged her to get excellent grades, she never felt pressurized. And if she ever had a question, she just needed to go and nudge a brother and ask a question - if they could be distracted from their video game for a moment.

As time passed on Nilma realized she didn't need to define herself to be a girl or a guy - she hadn't really thought about this earlier, since Finnish was a gender-neutral language and they spoke mostly Finnish back at home. When she realized she could be genderfluid, she regained much of her confidence which she had lost due to bullying and acquired her happy-go-lucky personality. Why be sad and negative about life, when you could be happy and super-positive instead?

When in school there was a notice about about the application for the Academy, Nilma dismissed the thought altogether that she would even try. Her brothers did the same, but insisted that their sister would go and try for all of them, just for fun! With a shrug and some bribing from his brothers, Nilma agreed to go and do the exam, but promised nothing. She, however, studied extremely hard, stressing about a test properly for the first time in her life - to all of her family's surprise. Needless to say, the joy and merriment when it was apparent Nilma had gotten in was quite the party. Her brothers were probably the most proud of her and happiest about the event, even though it meant Nilma would have to move elsewhere until then. She, however, held high hopes and decided she would make out the most of the upcoming years.

Element:  Air

Branch Color: Light green base (#A2E987) with a two, ivory white (#F7F7DF) wavy lines symbolizing air.

Weapon: Ilmatar – a silvery, long whip with a curved blade at the very tip. Has a metallic guard and a green grip, with a tiny gray gem as a pommel. The weapon does little damage but is swift and fast in its attacks.

Armor: {Check Charahub for picture, can't link it here for some reason)

Nilma has loose pants and shirt, so light blue that they look white. On top of these, she has ivory white greaves, gauntlets, a tasset, and a breastplate to give her some protection. Her armor is not very thick or strong, but is enough. Her dark blue scarf grows in size until it covers her lower face and upper chest and trails behind her until her lower back.

Other: She cannot stay still for long, as if the energy within her is about to burst out. Nilma's fiddling with something all the time, be it her earrings, her Branch, hair, clothes, pins, pencils... Anything she can put her focus on.

Username: Lady_Lunevis

Name: Elliot Alaine Charlebois

Age: 16

Gender: Demiboy - he / him

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Panromantic pansexual

Appearance: Elliot stands at about 170 cm (5'7"), with wavy white-blond hair and bluish grey eyes fringed by long eyelashes. He has a beauty mark near his left eye, a small mole that only adds to his pale skin and elvish face. For appearance, Elliot dyes his hair quite often; his natural colour is more of a dark brown, taking after his father's hair, rather than his mother's light blonde. Due to equal parts vanity and wanting to please, Elliot has his hair professionally bleached constantly. As he's only been doing this for a short while--before, his parents thought him too young, but upon the age of 15 decided he was old enough to be tailored for the company's image--his hair isn't quite damaged just yet, although its becoming increasingly so at an alarming rate. Elliot tries not to worry too much about it just yet, but his hair already feels like straw and comes out in the shower. Nonetheless, he and his parents have a back-up plan--should worse come to worse, Elliot will simply don a wig and no one will be all the wiser.

Elliot is not physically strong; his raising has completely neglected anything physical, so the male must be careful while lifting anything heavy as he either does not have the strength or might tear a muscle.

Taught to dress the best, Elliot's clothing is always ironed and crisp, ready to go. For his school uniform, he replaced the, in his own words, 'tacky tie' with an elegant Victorian-style cravat with ruffles, his Branch like a necklace located right in the center of his throat.

Personality: Elliot's personality differs depending on who he is talking to. Since he was raised from birth to become a wealthy heir, Elliot is charming and polite when greeting people of higher status, the perfect little prince for others to dote on. He feels most at ease around older, upper-class citizens, and lives by the knowledge that money can help you through anything. Around his people, Elliot is a charming host and perfect heir.

However, around others his age, Elliot's personality completely shifts. He's unable to wrap his head around concepts that others would consider normal, and feels very socially awkward around people that are actually his age and with such diverse personalities. He becomes easily flustered, stutters over his words, and eventually ends up attempting to give the person money to convince them to go away as that's what he thinks will work best.

After some time--and a couple movies he stayed up extra late to watch--Elliot realised that the best way to make friends was to be confident. With nothing to go on but social media, Elliot devised a plan--he would attempt to joke or flirt with others in order to feel more comfortable. Although he has progressed in his talking skills, he can still be painfully awkward at times such as when someone flirts back or tells a joke that he doesn't understand, in which he'll simply blush and try to buy someone off again.

Around people he is especially interested in befriending or something more, Elliot will be completely out of his range and do embarrassing things that he will agonize over later. He thanks the stars that his parents are not here to see him now--they would cringe seeing how their suave son is completely of his range, but Elliot is so bewildered that he desperately wants some semblance of home to cling to. Though he thinks himself independent, truth is Elliot's childhood was so controlled in little ways by his parents and grandmother that he never really had the chance to make big decisions by himself, so being suddenly dropped in a school setting is both overwhelming and exciting for the blond. He aspires to do his best, but will willingly admit--with the slightest of shame--that both school and fighting demons are completely new experiences to him and he is rightfully afraid of both. Even so, he won't give up! Elliot's ultimate goal is to make friends--something he's never really had nor considered until now, but after seeing what friends seemed to do together in the movies he decided he wanted that for himself. His approach, however, could use a little work--he really doesn't have much to go on beyond money, which always seemed to help him out elsewhere.

Elliot can also be painfully gullible at times--he will fall for little tricks, and does not have knowledge of the more darker things in life. He has no idea what life is like for the poor, what death really means, nor can he warp his head around the concept of an unhappy family. Raised in a perfect world, Elliot takes many of his blessings for granted.

History: Born to wealthy French parents, Elliot's childhood composed of the best private schools money could buy. As his parents' business was based in England, they moved to Britain when Elliot was a young child of three and never returned to their homeland. From the moment he was born, Elliot was trained for his inheritance--being the only child of two wealthy entrepreneurs meant that he would be in line for a grand future, and his parents did everything to ensure their son would become a good businessman that could uphold their legacy.

Sent to boarding schools, taught multiple languages--although never French, his parents based his education around success and thus allowed him only to dabble in worthwhile business languages, saying that he could leave the others for later times--Elliot was set up for success. As his childhood was controlled by his parents, they also decided on his education. Instead of being taught subjects such as history or English, Elliot was taught maths and business--subjects his parents deemed most useful in order for his future to be ensured. Due to this, he never had the chance to develop hobbies or other talents and thus finds the act of playing an instrument or anything to do with artistic skill beyond fascinating.

Never having really met other children in his childhood, Elliot is more at ease with adults and quite charming, using his good looks to his advantage when charming older citizens. He is particularity close with his grandmother, a retired business tycoon that has nothing else to do but dote on her only grandchild. She spoils Elliot and constantly worries about his wellbeing, always asking him if he's made any new friends or if he needs anything new. However, there is a bit of tension between his parents and his grandmother; his grandmother believes Elliot should be allowed to live a childhood first, spending time with children his age and learning how to live, while his parents argue that he can find 'time to live' when he is older and more responsible, and that flying to Hawaii to lounge on one's private beach is better than playing around in the sandbox with some toddlers. As Elliot was too young to fully comprehend the situation when the fighting began, he never got to form a personal opinion and just goes along with what his parents decides, as he believes that they really do know best.

Since he grew up sheltered in a very closed-off world, Elliot is especially close with his parents--almost too close, in fact. He believes they can do nothing wrong, as they have been telling him that since before he could speak. Although his memories of being taught to walk are more with his grandmother, Elliot is somewhat internally conflicted--once again, he takes the privilege of his bond with his grandmother for granted and seeks to please his parents, who know how to lavish him with gifts at exactly the right time and fill his head with thoughts at another, yet are somewhat distant due to their jobs taking up so much of their time. Through his mother and father's tutoring, Elliot believes that above all, he should trust in his parents to do the right thing, and that ultimately it is important to instill these values in his own children to continue the esteemed Charlebois line.

When his parents heard of the academy testing, they immediately lavished out generous amounts of money to the school for Elliot's acceptance and to be treated well during his stay there. His grandmother originally didn't agree with the thought of sending her precious grandson out to battle demons, but realised that this could be a chance for him to make friends that were his age and learn what a 'commoner's' life was like, so she reluctantly agreed. She demands that Elliot check in with her every weekend to tell her how things are going and if he's okay, and bought him many gifts as a farewell present. Now armed with a brand new wardrobe and a plump wallet, Elliot arrived at the academy.

Element:  Air

Branch Color: Ivory - #FFFFF0

Weapon: Cœur de la Reine { Heart of the Queen } - an sabre modèle An IX, with a white, curving blade and a silver hilt curved like a rapier, with a rose etched into the black leather sheath. Due to Elliot's upbringing, he is at a major disadvantage as he is not skilled in neither speed nor strength.

Armor: Elliot's armour is modelled after the classic English gentleman riding look, with tight pants, a waistcoat, and ruffled cuffs. God only knows how exactly he manages to move in that, but years of moving fluidly in uncomfortable clothing has trained him to know all the tips and tricks. Also, the cravat is always there.

Other: He likes to pretend that he knows French to honour his heritage; thus, he will call everyone "mon petit fromage", also known as my little cheese.

He has a large allowance and thus thinks very little of large purchases.

Due to his upbringing, he can speak fluent English, Mandarin, and German.

He's almost never had to run in his life and has never played a sport, and would probably drown in the shallow end of the pool. Due to this, Elliot is physically unskilled.

Username: Narvix

Name: Thel Aditsan

Age: 17 years

Gender: Male

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Pan-Homosexual/Aromantic

Appearance: Thel has short black hair that doesn't reach past his ears. It falls in uninteresting, straight strands. The top of his hair sweeps back and sticks on end from frequently running his fingers through. His eyes are a dark brown and set on a faintly narrow face beneath thin eyebrows. His features are on the sharper side with a square jawline and noticeable cheekbones. Thel’s nose is crooked, the result of a small accident that broke it. Despite the sharp features, there is a gentle look to him. Around his neck is a leather choker that carries his Branch, resting the gem against the dip in his collarbone.

With a tanned, olive skin tone, Thel has a dominantly lithe build with long legs designed more for running. Years of work have developed the muscles in his limbs and torso as well as increased his stamina. He stands at 5'7" and typically wears loose t-shirts, denim coats, and tattered jeans with boots. Other times, he’ll likely wear a tank top and shorts with sneakers on warmer days. Before entering Heaven’s Gate Academy, he often would be seen with work gloves, dirt on his clothing and in his hair, and a faded baseball cap on his head.

Because of the amount of farm labor he has done with his dad, Thel’s hands are roughened. The skin on his fingertips has cracked and hardened, causing them to be less sensitive than they should. Calluses layer his palms and the undersides of his fingers. Scars of various sizes and darkness decorate his body, caused from a range of scrapes, cuts, and a significant gouge or two from mishaps on the farm. Fortunately, there have only been a few knicks on his face, one slicing through the end of his right eyebrow while two others bend under his chin.

Personality: The first thing that a lot of people tend to notice about Thel is how flirty he can get. He enjoys being around people and flirting with anyone he sees but, there is no romantic connection for him. More often, it’s just a playful interaction for him or there is a legitimate, sexual interest he wants to pursue. If this makes someone uncomfortable, he won’t back away immediately but, at some point, he’ll leave them alone.

He doesn’t tolerate blatant stupidity or arrogant individuals. However, he doesn’t shout angrily in response. Generally, Thel will become sassy and show a bit of elegance in his unamused response. Though, that won’t stop him from using a stronger word or two before making his exit. He’ll add flair to his actions if he knows it’ll irritate the person. In some cases, he’ll make sure he has the last word. Maybe it’s petty to do so but, if someone won’t use their head or come off their high horse, why shouldn’t he be allowed to respond as he pleased?

On the other end of his personality, Thel has a bad habit of being pessimistic and easily tricked. As the gullible sort, he’ll swallow up any believable, tall tale someone shares about their past experiences or things they’ve learned. As such, rumors that reach his ears are taken for truth in his mind until the subject of said rumors says something conflicting. Though he denies it, Thel is slightly a gossip and he can’t help but to further spread whatever he’s been made to believe.

His pessimistic way of thinking is not always noticeable right off the bat. More often, it comes out like cautious thinking or open-minded evaluation. Thel won’t jump to dark conclusions about failing something, but he won’t hold up a bright hope about achieving everything. Mostly, he keeps his hopes low in an attempt to avoid as much disappointment as he can. If he can avoid it, he won’t invest himself in too much, mentally or emotionally keeping people or his goals at arm’s length, if not farther. He doesn’t expect much to come out of his life and so he isn’t very concerned with doing anything big or world changing. However, it doesn’t stop the wandering thought and desire to be someone important one day.

History: Born to an English father and a multiracial mother, Thel identifies more with his Native American heritage than with the rest of his mixed lineage. Raised primarily on a farm, he started working at a fairly young age, sooner than a great majority of kids. The distance between home and the city delayed his entering a public education system, his mother choosing to homeschool him until he was 13. Though he hid it from his parents, he wasn’t as thrilled about going to a school in the city as his parents believed. Thel more favored the freedom and activity of farmlife. For each scar on his body, he could recount how he got it with vivid detail. However, not many students appreciated his scars as much as he did and he was often sneered at by a consistent bully. He did his best to not let the opinions of school peers sway him though.

While at school, Thel paid as little attention as he could, only doing the bare minimum to pass each class so his parents wouldn’t lecture him about bad grades. Except, he discovered his love of linguistics and fervently participated in his Chinese language class. When he found the time, he pursued the other most common languages as well. Though he didn’t pursue them long to become flawlessly fluent, he learned enough to make basic conversations in most of them. However, he became strongest in three: English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish.

Beyond farmlife and linguistics, he started to explore his sexuality only recently at about 15. Frowned upon by a lot of adults, Thel kept his activity secret, using it as a means to learn more about himself and the types of people he was attracted to. It was easily discovered that he held no sexual attraction towards girls; he much more preferred the male physique. However, he couldn’t find a romantic or emotional attachment, providing him with one-night stands that ended in dead-ends or unreciprocated affections. Initially, it disturbed him and the constant thought of something being wrong with his head shadowed his days. Eventually, he found a way to push the idea out of his head and chalk it up to being an accepted reality.

When word of Heaven’s Gate Academy opening enrollment reached his ears, he dived into the opportunity and strove to pass their prestigious standards. Applying himself much better in his classes to achieve higher scores, he saw the school as a chance to connect with someone emotionally, hoping that the teachers could “fix the problem in his brain” that he thought existed. After all, the school was said to pair up lovers.

Element: Water

Branch Color: A blended gem of blues and purples, as if paint strokes had brought the two colors together horizontally across the middle. [#151B54 - #0000A0 and #571B7E - #461B7E]

Weapon: Heart Seeker; a recurved bow made of maple wood and a matching quiver of arrows with tempered steel heads. The quiver is made of worn leather and a strip of violet cloth wraps around the center of the bow. The fletching on each arrow is made from goose feathers.

Armor: Designed with distance in mind, Thel’s armor portrays his connection to his tribal roots. Entirely made of cloth in various shades of blue, Thel’s attire is similar to the breechcloths, leggings, and moccasins of many tribes. However, a sleeveless tunic with a fringed bottom covers his torso so as not to be so exposed. On the breechcloth and moccasins, patterned threads of red and yellow add to the otherwise plain cloth. Feathers, in bunches of two or three, adorn his clothing. A trio of feathers from an Eagle are attached to his tunic at the right shoulder, a pair of hawk feathers hang from his left hip, and a trio of crane feathers adorn his hair behind his left ear. Around his wrists are various accessories consisting of beaded and leather bracelets. One bracelet on his right wrist is a single cord with two small pigeon feathers hanging from it. More patterning of red and yellow thread race around the edges of his tunic, adding a bit more color than just the blue of his clothing. Movement is the primary function of his costumed armor while the element of his partner determines its level of defense. Earth provides him with the highest defense while water provides the weakest.

Other: Thel’s ambidextrous but writes as right-handed. Able to speak in three of the most common languages (though not all fluently), he has recently been learning to speak and write in both Navajo and Cheyenne.

Username: XiaoChibi

Name: Trent Kim (金傑偉)

Age: 17

Gender: Agender - he/him, they/them

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Demiromantic bisexual

Appearance: Trent has a triangular face shape and messy black hair with his fringe dropping down to his eyebrows. He is 5’6” and has dark eyes with occasional bags under his eyes when he decides to stay up late playing video games. Due to years of indulgence in the latter and farsightedness, Trent wears black rimmed glasses while reading and gaming (although he refuses to wear them during class). Trent tends to walk quietly in small steps and has a habit of frightening people when approaching from behind. When Trent was 16, he decided to get his ears pierced; Trent wears diamond stud earrings and when he feels like it, small sterling silver hoops. He has a toned body from swimming and running throughout the years and has a long torso. Trent favors wearing dress shirts under sweaters and hates wearing hats (the only hat he owns is a baseball cap from his favorite team). Trent likes to consider his legs as the most muscular part of his body––he swims, after all and is tanned from years spent exercising in the sun. His Branch is located on his tie. On his left hand, Trent wears a silver bracelet. Trent is ambidextrous, but he tends to favor his right hand more. His uniform is also neat and clean.

Personality: Like his grandmother, Trent is an introverted individual and his actions weigh more than his words. As a result, Trent unintentionally leaves the impression that he’s snobbish when he simply has nothing to say. He rarely smiles, but tends to laugh easily. Like his element, Trent has no issue when it comes to adapting to situations and can hide his personality in order to appease others. Trent enjoys spending his free time with his phone (he downloaded an emulator in order to store his favorite games in) or to call his sister. He doesn’t mind lending a helping hand to others and is happy at the thought of assisting others in their daily lives.

When in the presence of his loved ones, Trent softens up and dotes on them. He has an interest in flowers and tries to decorate places with flower chains and the like.

After his grandmother’s death, Trent began to develop the fear of disappointing his family, and his parents in particular. As a result, Trent decided that he’d be better off improving himself for the sake of receiving his parent’s praise. He has a tendency to doubt his decisions and worries if his parents would approve.

Despite his insecurities, Trent has a competitive spirit after years of participation in sports. He enjoys setting goals and writing lists. Trent is also a good listener and doesn’t mind hearing about his peer’s problems and tries to solve their issues. He doesn’t mind critique and when the opportunity arises, Trent asks for ways that he could better himself. When working in groups, Trent is often uptight because of the fear of letting his group down.

With his acceptance into Heaven’s Gate, Trent would like to fight for the sake of his siblings.

History:   Born to a doctor and a nurse, Trent had a somewhat normal childhood. Since his parents worked late, he was raised by his grandparents. As a child, he spent his time playing with his dog, Logan, and his older brother, Henry. When Trent was six, his sister, Claire, was born. During his years at school, Trent excelled in science and wanted to become a doctor like his mother. In middle school, Trent received his first video game controller. As an eleven year old, Trent was fascinated with the art and plot in the game, which jumpstarted his growing interest in video games. Trent was often seen reading books or fiddling with his phone during his teenage years. With parents in the medical field, Trent has an extensive knowledge of epidemiology and anatomy, along with how to care for people.

In 5th grade, Trent began to run for the track and cross country team at his elementary school. He continued running throughout middle and high school and also won some awards for his abilities. When he was six, Trent began swim lessons and later continued swimming for his high school’s swim team. He also began to take piano lessons at the same age and completed his testing for the highest level in his junior year of high school.

Initially, Trent decided to participate in his extracurricular activities because his parents suggested them. The only activity Trent willingly decided to participate in was swimming because he liked the soothing feeling of water on his skin. It was only after Trent realized that he had some merit in his athletic and musical abilities was when he started to channel more effort into the activities.

Trent’s interest in video games began to take a toll on his grades and sleep during his freshman and sophomore years of high school. While his parents began to praise his older brother for being accepted into prestigious colleges, Trent began to grow jealous of his brother’s success and the amount of attention he received from their parents. Trent began to lose focus on school and resorted to video games in order to forget about his problems, resulting in his suspension from the swim and track teams. At the end of the first semester of his sophomore year, Trent had spiraled down from an honors student to barely passing his classes with straight C’s. As a result, Trent’s parents began to apply pressure on their son to succeed and raise his grades. In response, Trent argued that he was “perfectly happy” with the way he was and refused to listen, despite the additional pleas from his grandparents.

However, tragedy struck the Kim family when their grandmother died due to a stroke. During Trent's childhood, he was close with his maternal grandmother and learned how to make jewelry and the key concepts of flower symbolism from her. Since the day she died, Trent began to wear a silver bracelet in honor of her memory. After her death, Trent began to reform his past behaviors due to the guilt he felt.

Trent is fond of his younger sister, Claire, and is rather overprotective when it comes to her business. He has a rivalry with Henry due to his parents favoring their eldest son over him. When it comes to his parents, Trent harbors a slight resentment towards them due to their large absence in his life because of their careers. At times, Trent sometimes felt that his grandparents were his ‘true’ parents.

He decided to take the exam in order to prove his self worth to his parents. Trent had the desire to do something that his brother wouldn’t think of doing. If he passed, Trent believed that he would’ve gained his parents’ respect.

Element:  Water

Branch Color: Blue bird (#4973AB)

Weapon: Camellia–– A silver lance with gold accents. Near the base of the handle, there are twin bells attached to red string. The blade of the lance is ornate and is suitable for long distance attacks with a spiked pommel.

Armor: Ambrosia–– Trent’s armor is black with gold and blue accents. The armor is heavy, but years of sports has aided Trent in maneuvering with his armor;however, he occasionally has difficulty evading attacks.

Other: Trent has an interest in a certain farm simulation RPG on his phone’s emulator and has a habit of cracking his knuckles. He is also half Korean and Chinese, although he tends to identify with his Chinese side more. Since he was raised by his maternal grandparents, Trent understands Cantonese and has basic knowledge of Mandarin.

Username: TotallyDrow

Name: Jonah Mir

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Heterosexual

Appearance: [X] Standing at around 5ft 6 in height, Jonah has a lean build, largely thanks to his football training as well as his afternoons spent swimming with the school swim team. He has rather tanned skin, spending a good portion of his time outside of the house doing sports or simply avoiding his eventual return home.   On the underside of his hand just below his wrist is a large birthmark. He has shaggy dirty blonde hair and bright aqua colored eyes, underneath his left eye is a small scar; from an accident he had when learning how to ride his bicycle at a young age. His face is well rounded and underneath his chin are short strands of blonde bristle.

His attire mainly consist of button down hooded T shirts of bright colors over an undershirt. Depending on how how it is outside, he will either wear the hooded top with its buttons undone, or have the buttoned to the top. He sports an elastic bang around his left wrist of black color with the emblem of the football team he supports. It is not uncommon to see him wearing a beanie hat with or without a visor along the peak of the cap, these are normally dark colors i.e. Navy, Black, dark grey, burgundy. Cargo pants are his preference, but will also wear denim jeans accompanied by the 'in fashion' pair of trainers, such as the Nike huaraches. He also prefers sling bags as opposed to double strapped backpacks.

His branch is fixed into a metallic link and chain that he wears around his neck.

Personality: Jonah tends to play the facade that everything is okay, putting on a happy and friendly appearance when he is at school. He likes to play the fool, make jokes, be the butt of jokes and even tease the girl he fancies. Jonah is someone who you can trust, to an extent. While he is the type who would keep your secret to the grave and have your back in a life or death situation, he is also the type who would sell you out for a quick joke and a few laughs. Gregarious by nature, a trait he most likely inherited from his parents, Jonah relishes being in a high-spirited social gathering. By no means a risk taker, Jonah will patiently wait and try to assess a situation beforehand before deciding; whether he makes the right decision however is still up to chance. Time spent on computer games have given him an air of arrogance in competitive situations, confident that he is the better 'player', even when it clearly isn't the case. This arrogance and confidence he exudes in his online games have also shown themselves to a lesser degree in his football matches.

He doesn't find it too difficult to make new friends, however he isn't going to over exert himself to befriend someone whose personality clashes with his. If overtime, those clashing personalities do relent and they can come to an understanding, he is more then willing to let bygones be bygones. He would prefer to have more friends than enemies thus he tries his best at finding a common ground between himself and another and use that as a foundation to grow the relationship. Should a falling out occur and Jonah strongly feels that he is in the right, he can hold a grudge for several days and give the cold shoulder but will usually crumble afterwards and apologize for being an idiot.

The fact that he has to wear a 'mask' and play the facade also means that he is the type who keeps his negative feelings bottled up. Not really one to talk to others about his problems, he lets the negative emotions fester and swell within himself, thus he will sometimes explode and be overly angry about the smallest of matters. During these situations of frustration and stress, he tends to seclude himself from the outside world, choosing to drown himself in loud music so as to ignore everyone else, or simply isolating himself from others. His father's antics have also left Jonah with the lasting feeling of not wanting to have his own children, feeling that he would not make a good father having had such a poor role model himself as well as making him worry about ending up the same way as him, i.e. abandoning his child in the future. He finds the phrase, "Like Father, Like Son" to be a haunting omen.

History:

Born and raised by your typical middle class family, Jonah never had too much to complain about, there was always going to be a warm place to go home to and food in the fridge. His parents were the type who loved to entertain, throwing parties when possible to the point that even the local police became frequent visitor's; something about the noise. Of course Jonah was still a lad and rarely made it past midnight before succumbing to the temptations of sweet slumber.

Living in Asia due to his father's work, Jonah first attended a local school full of the countries local citizens. At first everything seemed to be fine, Jonah had no qualms being surrounded by the locals and even enjoyed it, however his mother thought otherwise. She did not appreciate her son picking up the local slang and had even vented at his father because of this. His mothers stance immovable and his father relenting,  Jonah was transferred to a private school that operated under the British curriculum where he became a member of the schools swim team as well as football team. It was during the end of his third year that things took a turn for the worse. Whilst on summer holiday; spent in America with his mother, his father had had an affair. Caught out by the maid that lived with them, she had informed Jonah's mother about her findings which in turn led to the vacation being ended abruptly. A custody battle had taken place several months later, both parents fighting for sole custody of Jonah; the proceedings of which spanned for three to four months until finally his mother eventually won largely thanks to Jonah's desire to stay with her. For the year after, his father attempted to stay in touch, often coming on the weekends to pick Jonah up and take him to the Sunday juniors football league he was apart of; his father being the coach at the time. However this only lasted the one year before their relationship grew distant. His father started to miss the games more often, citing that work needed him oversea's until finally getting to the point where he simply never turned up.

Aged 13, his mother died and Jonah was sent to his father's house. By now, his father had remarried and had twins; a boy and a girl. His father and his new wife welcomed him with open arms, Jonah never felt like he belonged. The two years he spent with them did nothing to help, he unlike most kids looked forward to school where he could distract himself with school work as well as blissfully 'pretend' that his life was perfect when among his friends and hated the final bell which serenaded the beginning of his hellish reintroduction into reality. At home, he secluded himself from his father, his step mother and his siblings, choosing to eat in his room rather than at the dining table. His room was his home, the rest of the house just a dull decor that he could not get rid off. It was only when he became aware of Heaven's gate that he showed signs of returning to his old self. It was a means of escape, a way to free himself from the confines of a household he felt alien from and had no desire to be apart of. He looks forward to the day when he can live apart from the father and step mother he hates.

Element:  Water

Branch Color:   Cerulean

Weapon:   A large trident A 2 meter long spear with a three-pronged blade at the end, its longest point reaching a length of 14 cm with the outer two reaching 8cm. On the opposite end is a large circular ornament of considerable weight that operates as a small-scale bludgeoning weapon. It is attached to a 2 meter long chain, hidden within the shaft of the trident and can be launched outwards to surprise the opponent.

Armor: His armor consist's of a long blue robe that splits up into five individual portions from the waist down, emblazoned along each of these are arrow like markings of sky blue coloration that shimmer in the light. He has metal plating covering his shins, shoulders, left side of the waist as well as a black breastplate.. He wears black cargo jeans around his legs. Lastly, along his rib area is a pendant that holds the robe together and it incorporates a replica gem matching his branch color. Ignore the eye patch.

This clearly has nothing to do with that 777 roleplay from a few months ago. That would be absurd. Totally joining this.

I found a few minor grammatical errors that could be fixed.

The climate is humid and subtropical, although it is mild enough to not warrant artificial cooling.

Splits the infinitive, change to "not to warrant".

They are co-ed but separated based on element; each elemental ‘house’ -- about a eighty students each

Remove "a".

---

There were also a few parts where you were a bit wordy and could have shortened the sentence down, but those are exactly errors and they work with that you have so I won't point them out. This is looking real good, Mage. I bet this will get approved in no time! happy.gif

Another question in regards to pairing.

Is the partner permanent? or can partners be interchanged among one another for different situations.

Hey there! This is very nicely written and I didn't see a lot that needed fixing. smile.gif

The few things I did catch:

create fire, others, weaponize

It’s a little awkward here. I would suggest removing the commas and either putting “while” between fire and others or a period.

limitations: first, a single

Given that colons are used for lists involving commas or semi-colons, I would suggest replacing it with a period instead. Especially since the second item is a separate sentence.

on earth with strange

Earth is a proper noun in this case and should be capitalized.

magic, and summon copies

No comma necessary.

Some could create fire, others, weaponize air, earth, or water.

(Earth, Fire, Air, Water)

(fire/water or earth/air)

You’ll want to be consistent with the capitalization of the elements.

to be just as (if not stronger) than Fire

It feels like you’re missing an adjective like “powerful”, or something, before the parenthesis.

and as such Light users

Commas should go around as such.

without a initiating a sync

That first ‘a’ seems to have slipped in there. tongue.gif

Exactly how practical do weapons have to be? Do they have to be "mundane" weapons, like swords, axes, and hammers and stuff or could they be like, scepters that shoot magic blasts, magical mirrors that can store things inside them, and that kind of thing? And can characters have multiples of their weapon out at a time, or just one?

Thanks Narvix! I'll get to those once I get back home in about four hours. ^^

As for the questions... the school assigns partner pairs with the hope that they might develop a lasting relationship, but the pairs aren't set in stone. For example, a student can initiate a sync and gain access to magic by pairing with any other student in the school as long as they consent. However, paired abilities such as the third element grow stronger the closer the bond between the paired and so it is recommended you stick with your assigned partner (although there is a partner swap period IC if a pair really hate each other)

As for weapons, they don't need to be conventional weapons. Things like scepters, umbrellas and fans are just as valid as swords, guns and maces, although I probably won't allow things like the mirrors you mentioned. And yes, they can summon more than one at a time (and dismiss them at will), though you technically can't dual wield two-handed weapons.

I already have a character set up for this RP (Making roleplay characters extraordinarily fast is one of my many talents) so should I wait for this RP to be accepted before I post it in the forum to keep the thread clutter-free or...?

Hehe. A skill you say? There's probably a lot I could nitpick. A decent sheet can't be made in an evening. wink.gif

I don't think you can post actual sheets in an unapproved topic, but I have set up a chatzy here to discuss things: http://www.chatzy.com/52485745996818

The password is: stem

That has also been added to the second post. I'll get right to editing the things Narvix pointed out.

Edit: Errors have been corrected. ^^ I won't need this thread cleaned, because in the end I've decided to make it the OOC.

I should have the twins and Mystery Person up sometime today.

Yo what's up friends have a WIP. Weapon and armour suggestions would be appreciated ;;

Edit: Fred is now done, read about Fred

Holy crap Doc that's a text wall on mobile O.o

Anyways, change of plan. Apparently, I misunderstood, so I am also staying at the new house tonight. So unless I can type out the sheets for the twins and Mystery on mobile, then the sheets will likely come tomorrow. Sorry guys!

I come back home and see the topic approved and with holy moles all these sheets posted! I'll get to looking at them right away starting with Narvix's (some familiar faces I see), since Spyro's got the message that he's got to revise his sheets and put way more detail into it for this advanced-lit RP. This also means that you'll have to make a strong effort too, Esko.

Also, after considering it carefully, I will not accept any only-image descriptions for appearance, armor, or weapon. The purpose is simple: think of something original!

I should probably finish my own sheets as well oops. So much for using them as examples, though you can always look at Doctor's. XP It's actually not that long on the computer. That's the kind of length I was used to before.

EDIT: Oh, I also have to mention that demons have not overtaken any cities yet -- the military has been pretty good with blasting them to smithereens before they get into any highly-populated areas, though the balance is quickly tipping in favor of the demons.

You know what, I think I'm just gonna delete my form and start from scratch. I screwed up hard the first time. And isn't the armor gained from a sync the other person's armor? It looks like everyone designed theirs thinking their character will wear it.

The armor situation has changed, MrSpyro. The characters are wearing whatever armor is in their sheet, not their partner.
