What the- Arwen?!

Erin swung her head around sharply and yup, there she was, peering at the stranger from behind her back. She narrowed her eyes and turned to face her, hands on her hips in her best Angry Mom pose.

"You stay here" se pointed first at their feet, then at Arwen, "I'll be back to yell at you in a minute."

She turned back to the stranger, pulling a couple of sandwiches and a bottle of water out of her bag as she approached her. "Here," she offered, "You probably need these more than I do."

With that, she marched back to Arwen. "And you, you deranged little creature, what in God's name made you come after us?! This place could've been dangerous!"

Arwen held back tears as Erin yelled at her.

"My mummy and papa are here!" She yelled, starting to cry. "I'm going to find them." Arwen stared up at Erin, hoping that she wouldn't send her back.

Ez heard a thump and a rustle of leaves behind her. Although she still felt queasy, she turned around, prepared to fight if she had to. What made her feel awfully silly was that she'd guarded up and it turned out to only be Micah, face down in the foliage.

"Yeah, Mak, Erin, Whisperlee, and Arwen are here." She responded, reaching her hand out, offering to help him up. "The sickness should pass soon, but you'll still feel like garbage for a little bit. I still do."

Erin sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. When she put it like that...

"Maybe," she agreed and crossed her arms, turning her head to look down a break in the trees, "but we have no idea where."

She looked back down at Arwen and wiped a tear off the girl's cheek. "I was gonna track them down first, then go back and bring you to them" she explained, "Now they're gonna be mad at me for putting you in danger."

Mak looked around at those who had made the trip, eyes widening slightly as their resident tag-along child had not only made the trip but also seemed entirely unaffected by it. He, on the other hand, still had a very queasy stomach and had only just managed to convince his eyes and ears that he was indeed on solid ground and not rolling on a stormy ocean. Erin's outburst was not totally unreasonable given that they really could be in a lot more danger than it seemed, but he chalked up her response to being stress of the situation and the mode of transportation...whatever it was that allowed them to make the trip.

Standing near the girl Mak dropped his hand to her shoulder lightly, resisting the urge to lean on her for support. "It's okay Arwen, we'll look," he smiled slightly, hoping he didn't look as green as he felt.

Micah didn't usually like accepting help from women, but this time he really needed it. Trying to prop himself up with one weak, shaky arm he just managed to grasp Ez's outstretched palm with the other. He needed to lean completely on the other person's weight to hoist himself up, and tried to be careful not to pull her over as he did so since regardless of the status of the sexes there was a significant difference in their builds, not to mention he weighed a good amount more than she did. "Arwen? What's she doing here?" he coughed out, his voice still raspy. There was no way that anyone could have thought bringing a child here was a good idea, right? He could understand that she would want to see her parents but she should have known to wait until everyone else came back. Hm. Mak, Erin, Wisperlee . . . "Did everyone who come make it?" His mind was still hazy at the moment.

Finally having eased himself into a sitting position, Micah wiped his mouth and looked around, managing to spot Mak, Erin and Arwen, at least. He waved weakly at them, not feeling well enough to really care if they noticed but feeling obligated to do it anyway.

Erin raised her hand in a quick wave to Micah. Seemed the gang was all here, then.

"Okay," she thought out loud, "so we're looking for Arwen's parents first. How? Make lots of noise and hope they come to us? Wander aimlessly and hope we find them? Can I can think of a lot of ways both could go wrong."

She fingered the handle of her knife uneasily.

Oh, right, the stranger.

She turned back to her. "Eh, have you come across anyone else these last few days?" she asked.

(Sorry for the absence.)

Ez strained a bit, but managed to pull Micah up into a standing position.

"It's not like I brought her here. The only reason I'm here at all is because I manged to fell through trying to stop the damn thing. Don't you go blaming this sh*t on me." She motioned to Arwen with a nod of her head, then did her best to wriggle herself away from Micah.

Arwen held Erin's hand.

"The lady who died said that we all cross over the same far-ness as where we are at home. My parents were at the hospital. We can go to the hospital." She spoke fast and her voice was full of hope.

"Let's...not be blaming anyone," Mak said, interspersing himself between Ez and Micah. "And I think everyone whose coming is here - the rest will keep an eye on the house for us." He then looked down at Arwen. "And you're right - we'll need to go the same way from here as the hospital would be. It just takes a bit of remembering." He smiled slightly, put a hand on Arwen's head and tousled her hair absently before walking past the group and the pyjama-clad "native" enjoying her share of the meager provisions. No doubt it would be good to have some actual food for the first time in over a week.

If only he'd brought a map, or had some actual way of knowing what was the 'other side' back home. Instead he was going to have to work off memory and hope he got it right. Fortunately he knew where he had appeared in this place and what way he was facing, and had a reasonable guess as to what direction the hospital was from here. It would take a couple of hours if they could walk in a straight line from here, presuming nothing held them up or forced them to turn away. They were going to have to rely a lot more on tracking and memory here, that was for sure.

Taking a few moments to make sure his bow was strung - the memory of those little spiny creatures and Hannah's warning about the Lopers was fresh in his mind - Mak nodded. "I think we should be going this way."

((*Charges in, out of breath* No games. Lent. Onward and upward!))

"There's gotta be some way to tell direction around here," Erin started looking around, "moss on trees, direction of shadows."

She dropped Arwen's hand and circled around the closest tree. Moss was supposed to grow on the north side, right? Which way did the shadows point?

Oh, yeah, did this place even rotate the same way? Did vegetation behave the same way?

She sighed. "This would be so much easier back on Earth."

She rubbed her forehead in frustration. Her stating the obvious certainly wasn't going to help.

"I don't suppose you know how to navigate?" she turned toward Micah, "Seems like something a bible-thumper would teach his sons."
