The Avengers

Recommended Posts

I can't even go and see it alone, as I have no money D:

I actually had a dream where I went to see it. I found myself sitting next to Loki in the theater. Of all the things I could have done, I punched him in the mouth and ran for it.

T-T

jkhgkdfs dying of laughter brb

Soooo. I'm not exactly a Marvel fan. I'm hardly a Superheroes fan period, I grew up with Justice League of America and I read JLI comics from the 80s when I get my hands on them. And yet I still enjoyed this movie. Knew virtually nothing about everyone, the most I knew was their names, but I still enjoyed it.

Was a good movie, yes.

It rocked my world.

"Puny god."

I thought he said "Demi-God". Of course, the ladies next to me were obnoxiously clapping and screaming "yes" during that part, so it was hard to actually hear. =|

~

Loved the humor and the action and the Thor. <3

I laughed so hard at the scene at the very end of the credits. That was great. Well worth staying for. xD

I loved the scene after the credits with them all eating. They looked soooo bored :'D

"Puny god."

I was practically dying with laughter at that scene. I also liked the line where Loki is compared to flying monkeys and Thor goes, "What?" but Captian America says, "Oh, I understood that!"

I loved this movie so much. I've only seen Captian America and part of Iron Man I, but I so want to see the others now.

(Though by now we all should have learned cube shaped objects attracts danger  *thinks of the Lament Configuration and Allspark* )

Don't forget the space cube in Transformers I and II.

You mean the Allspark?

Saw the movie, will probably go see it again. I haven't seen the Hulk movie or Ironman 2 but hopefully I can. I'm probably in a minority here, but I really hated Loki's character. I wasn't compelled to hate or feel compassion toward him and instead he seemed more robotic to me. If he showed even a small amount of kindness toward his brother, that would have fixed it, but he doesn't. I was also fairly disappointed with the Thor movie for various reasons.

Some people actually liked Loki in this movie?

Apparently he has a fanbase. I don't know why either and it was news to me until about 4 hours ago.

Loki is just a sad lost soul that just needs many hugs. :D

There is a huuuuge fanbase for Loki. Both Comic-Canon and Movie-Canon. Some reason there is a lot of mention of the restaurant Chili's with Loki as well. Not sure what that has to do with anything, but I think it's funny...

Also, CAT EARS~

I don't even know. But, the Loki fandom is full of funny randomness. As long as you avoid the Tony/Loki and Thor/Loki slash, it's pretty awesome. I enjoy wandering around Loki-centric Tumblrs.

Yes. It's been a while since I've seen Transformers.

I hated Loki too. He was so centered in his own twisted plan and saw nothing other than that. His character lacked the depth that made the heroes like-able. Even self-centered Stark had other qualities to relate to. But not Loki. Of course, I haven't seen Thor yet, but still.

I was under the impression that they started over with Hulk again, since they switched actors... again. Not sure, though?

I'd prefer him to be tossed into the sun, but that's just me. The cat ears are pretty amusing though.

@7Deadly$ins: I can't figure out which Hulk movie is part of the Avengers movies. The last one I saw was about 7 ish years ago and was pretty terrible and was not part of the set. I think one is named "Hulk" and the other "The Incredible Hulk". Can anyone clarify this?

@HawktalonOfRiverClan:

Loki's back story is IN Thor. You kind of miss some of the connections and references if you haven't seen Thor. I'm not saying it's necessary to enjoy the Avengers, but it definitely fills some of the gaps. And, I think it makes his character a little more sympathetic. At least in Thor he is. In the Avengers, Loki has kind of gone off the deep end. tongue.gif

The last one (with Edward Norton) is the one you want to watch. It's the most canon version. However, it references the one before it, although you don't have to watch the previous one to get the references.

The "Marvel Cinematic Universe" is as such:

1) Iron Man

2) The Incredible Hulk

3) Iron Man 2

4) Thor

5) Captain America

6) The Avengers

Upcoming Movies:

7) Iron Man 3

8) Thor 2

9) Captain America 2

10) The Avengers 2

11) Black Widow

I only know MovieLoki from Thor. Never read the comics. But I fell in love really liked him in it. The scenes between him and Odin/Odin's Wife where some of my favourites.

I think I've been thinking about this movie too much. I had a follow up dream to my previous one last night. I dreamt I was getting ready for work when my door bell rang. I answered it and Loki was standing there. He punched me in the mouth and then ran off.

You may (or may not) think this was funny/weird enough, but when I was actually getting ready for work this morning my door bell rang and gave me a heart attack. It was just the postman though.

I also like Loki very much. I don't know any Marvel comics (also didn't know any movie until 12 days ago), but in the movie he's somewhere between mad, evil and sometimes even sweet.

Of course Tom Hiddleston gave a great performance and looks pretty good, but Loki's character isn't simply evil, more totally messed up and I always loved guys like him.

I hope he will show up again in Thor 2 and The Avengers 2

I don't know about The Avengers 2, but he will be in the next Thor movie (according to Wikipedia anyways).

Although I'm not interested in The Avengers, I did find this hilarious video on YouTube which I think you might like. Simply search 'The Ellen Show Avengers'. It's a different version of the real trailer xd.png

This all the way.

I read a lot of interviews about Loki that Tom Hiddleston did and it really made me appreciate the character of Loki more. I actually found Loki to be a more interesting character then Thor in the Thor movie. In all honesty, I wouldn't have even watched the Thor movie if a Loki fan hadn't convinced me to watch it.

Also, I want this figurine because of reasons:

LOOK AT THE DETAIL IN THIS FIGURINE. Seriously, this is awesome. I want. I also want the Hawkeye one. I hope they release an Avengers Tony Stark because the current Tony Stark Figurine they have is from Iron Man 2 and it's about the price of three Loki figurines. D:

My thoughts exactly, I've enjoyed Hiddleston's take on Loki in both Thor and The Avengers, where he turned into a fully fledged villain (I did wish to see him hesitate more in some of his actions against Thor, but I kind of understand the decision to make him this way - it's a part of the evolution/de-evolution of his character I guess). I'm pretty positive he'll be in Thor 2, I think I've heard something about his possible redemption, so I'm looking forward to seeing if that's true.

@ MysticTiger

Wow, that sure is one spiffy looking figurine... now I can't wait for someone to post a youtube Avengers parody with these, because it's really just a matter of time. xd.png

That's a FIGURINE? Holy fish, I thought it was just his photo on a poster....

Well, I'm seeing the movie this weekend for the third time. I'm in love. laugh.gif I haven't been this crazy over a movie for a long time now, it's quite refreshing.

Ps, all the cheesy, dramatic group shots in that movie = <3

Yes, this is a Figurine. And don't worry, I thought it was a promotional photographic image as well. But, no, it's a figurine.

Here's some more images of it:
