Describe-A-Dragon!

Recommended Posts

Why hello thar! You're probably reading this, wondering what the rules are supposed to be.

Well, the rules for this game are quite simple!

1. Look at the scroll of the person who posted directly above you.

2. Pick a dragon, any dragon, including eggs and hatchlings (although adults and frozens are preferred).

3. Say 'Write That Description!' (Yes, you really do have to say it like that.)

4. If the person posted 'Taking Suggestions!', you are allowed to introduce a premise or quirk to the dragon. They can choose whether or not to use the idea, but oh well.

5. Now post whether or not you are taking suggestions for the description premise, and wait for the next person to post. Then go to the named dragon on your scroll and write them a description! A proper one, not just a bunch of numbers or gibberish; something that you think would get accepted.

6. When you have the description written and submitted, edit your post to include the description in quotes. This way, we'll know you actually wrote it even if it hasn't been approved yet.

7. Please check up on your posts! We'd like to know we're doing some good over here.

8. If you have dragons with descriptions pending already, please list them in your post.

Have fun! Since no one's posted before me, I'll wait for a suggestion.

(My currently pending-description dragons are Creja Re Wind, TG- Rasuke, Nanachu Raande, Lunic Mania, Vhirn, and Makrida. No touchie!)

Early Fall- Write that description!

Taking suggestions. PLEASE, check if the dragon you pick already has a description or not- I've got over two dozen and it is difficult to keep track of them. Dark Samus, SA-X, and Zoidberg have pending ones. I will not work with unnamed dragons/ones in a song.

EDIT:

Once, there was a dragon breeder who had raised and studied over one thousand dragons. In celebration of this accomplishment, they gave eggs of all breeds, rare or common, to any who asked. The only condition was that the dragon be named, and that name was to have '1000' in it.

When 1000 Words' egg came to the cave, there was a great deal of talk over how this condition would be met without saddling her with a poor name. By the time she had hatched, the little Silver was still without a name.

This didn't bother her too much- she was a dull-scaled little hatchling, rather than attracting attention for her rarity and silvery glow, she was praised for her artistic talent. She kept this up as she grew, creating larger, more elaborate paintings, never caring that the paints and dyes had permanently stained her silver scales and pale pink mane all sorts of colors. If anything, she became pickier, intent on becoming a work of art herself- a picture worth more than a thousand words.

I had to make some edits, it went over the character limit... mostly because I felt the need to add in just how I got her xd.png

1000 words - Write that description! (Is she a writer? An artist? How did she get that name, anyway?).

Open to suggestions (but may not take them). To make it easier on the next poster, nobody from Jalvotha Thuwed down has a description accepted or pending. (There are a few other descriptionless dragons floating around, but they'll be hard to find among all of the ones with accepted descriptions). Only named dragons, please.

Morgana Stormscale was a quiet, moody hatchling, and became increasingly withdrawn and resentful during long years of being overshadowed by her considerably more outgoing foster brother, Valor Goldenblaze.  Given the right opportunity, she had the potential to become even more malevolent than Jalgafen, but luckily Hannahra recruited her first.  Morgana now serves as the Unicorn Mage's chief advisor, and her gift of foresight makes her especially valuable.

Morgana Stormscale - Write That Description!

Open to suggestions :3 None of my dragons have PENDING descriptions, they're either described or they aren't. But please not Banira, I have plans for her where I need more chickens.

EDIT:

Kama Dorkface isn't like the other Vampire dragons. She obviously can't leave the cave in the daytime, but she's somehow managed to befriend some of the dragons and gradually gained acceptance. Her best friend is, ironically, Kasaini - mother of one of the other Vampires who's egg was stolen from her. Kama has been trying to help the grieving Kasaini by proving to her that Vampires aren't ALL bad.

ETA:

When he was just a hatchling, before anyone even knew his gender or had a name for him, Mesmer would always beg to see any traveling performers, even sneaking out of the cave and going on his own if no one would take him. Circuses were fun, musicians were a delight, but his absolute favorites were the magicians. Whether they did simple card tricks or elaborate illusions that left spectators slack-jawed in amazement, he made a rule of never missing one when they were in town.

One night, some time after he had matured, Mesmer went to see a famed hypnotist, and couldn't believe his luck when he was called up on stage. The hypnotist (a Vampire dragon at that) did his little stunt, Mesmer acted like a chicken for several minutes, and was pulled out. Life went on, but many dragons have noticed a... a change. He often makes odd sounds, almost like clucking, and pecks at his food rather than tearing into it. He's even started fussing over eggs, much to the annoyance of nesting females...

Open to suggestions, although quite a few have descriptions pending. I can't recall all of those, but I know it includes Rozalina and Le Gold Fish, as well as Signor Rose, Vatten Cavall and Lule.

Didn't want to put this in the OP, so I'm posting it here. Meet Early Fall!

A friendly, responsible dragon, Early Fall was named for the time of year she was born. Or so everyone says; fall for the cave actually starts in August, but no one wants to be the dragon to tell her that the name she's so proud of is a mistake, as she was born in October. She takes responsibility for ensuring that, when each season rolls around, the appropriate group of soon-to-be-raving-mad seasonal dragons is kept in solitary confinement (winters in summer, springs in autumn, etcetera). While it pains her to see her close friends and family in such awful condition for an entire season, she realizes that they must be confined for the safety of the cave. She is the proud mother of Novari and Heart of Midwinter, and the loving mate of Nankaro.

Merci Reginea- Write That Description! biggrin.gif

Aaaaand here's Faeipawinn the Day Glory!

Cheerful and slightly obnoxious, Faeipawinn is keenly interested in what Wizard Carnie calls 'make-up.' After all, one can only shine their scales to so much extent. She can often be seen flittering about, trilling a happy little tune while the light bounces off her alternately powdered-and-buffed coat of scales, and leaving smears of cosmetics wherever she touches the walls. While this can be annoying, especially when she gets claw-polish on other dragons, the result is a little bit of extra beauty in the cave, and so they don't much grudge her for it (although Carnie has become upset more than once over the theft of her makeup).

On my scroll; Salaesha and Quarec Carlyle have pending descriptions.

And I have ideas in mind for Ariadne D'Hennegel, Erike Laquan, Masenqueras, Gyshling Yax and Luna Noctiluca. However, you can try for one of them if you really want to. ^^

Pending Descriptions: Makrida, Vhirn, Nanachu Raande, Lunic Mania, Creja Re Wind, TG- Rasuke, Early Fall (obviously), Faeipawinn (obviously), Luspurim.

Taking Suggestions, although don't be offended if you pick one that I already have an idea for. I'll probably just reuse said idea for another one. :3

Here's Tavitero!

Probably the first thing that would come to one's mind when describing Tavitero is 'the strong, silent type.' He very rarely volunteers a bit of conversation, instead replying to questions asked. When asked a question that he does not deem necessary and practical, he will generally respond with a sarcastic, vitriolic remark that quickly silences the unfortunate wonderer. This tendency is notably averted with his mate, Merioni, who has inherited her mother's sweet temperament; the two pygmies can often be seen walking about at the edge of a lake, or watching the sunset together in comfortable silence.

I've been meaning to start describing my dragons for a while now and haven't gotten around to it. Now I have so many it's a little overwhelming to think of naming them all -- this looks like a fun way to get started! Happy to take suggestions, too. I have some vague ideas in mind for some of them, but nothing that couldn't benefit from some fresh ideas! happy.gif

Edit:

@Dr. Paine: I don't get why -- they're gorgeous but they hardly look cuddly! I'll get right on that!

Aaannd here it is!

Wandering Bloom:

As his name suggests, Wandering Bloom rarely stays in one place for more than a few days at a time.  He is consumed by a desire to travel to new places, experience new dangers -- and, admittedly, cause new troubles!  He is also a bit of a bully, and looks down upon dragons that live in one place because they're "not strong enough" to survive in the wild.  He rarely returns to the same place twice, but this isn't always by choice; more often than not, the resident dragons become fed up with his antics and warn him not to return.

I'm interested to see people describe Flamingo Wyverns xd.png Since there's the misconception that they are gentle, goofy things x3 Which they are not >D

Um... no ideas, sorry.

Taking suggestions. PLEASE, check if the dragon you pick already has a description or not- I've got over two dozen and it is difficult to keep track of them. Dark Samus, SA-X, 1000 Words, Mesmer, Aperture Science Birthday Cake, and Zoidberg have pending ones. I will not work with unnamed dragons/ones in a song.

ETA:

A strange Thunder dragon, Cake is often rumored to not even exist! While there are many rumors about her being a lie circulated by GLaDOS in order to frighten others into going through with her insane tests (if they refuse, GLaDOS says, Cake will strike them dead on the spot), these rumors themselves are entirely lies.

Quite the opposite of a dragon who will kill, Cake simply wants to be left alone in her cave, far from the prying eyes of others. Ever since it was discovered Thunders were able to combine their powers to summon a creature of intense strength, she has become even more removed from the world.

Taking suggestions (although I may not follow them). Please check to see whether it has a description or not.

Alastriona Ivory:

There isn't another dragon in his keeper's cave quite like Ivory, and he knows it. His albinism is a talking point with the ladies, a bragging meter with the buddies, and a reason to hang out in the shade with the vampires. He's probably better friends with the vampires than with the other dragons, simply because they have more in common. They exchange witty banter and, although he's a little slow on the uptake, he would never give up his time with the closest things to friends he's ever had.

Taking suggestions, but might not use them. Dragons below Xaybec are all undescribed (except for Morgana Stormscale - pending). There are a few other undescribed named dragons on my scroll, but they're rather lost among all the described ones.

The Spurfoot wyverns have lived near Dragontown for centuries, but until recently were wary of the locals, since their poisonous spurs were no match for most human weapons.  Then, one day, Darnos grew curious about the increased number of visiting humans.  He followed a couple of them back to the city, where he discovered that Dragontown had attracted a new breed of tourist - one fascinated by dragons and usually willing to show their appreciation.  Now, Darnos and his flock are one of the star attractions, and frequently perform intricate aerial maneuvers in hopes of getting treats (as they often do).

Wandering Bloom has a pending description; none of my other dragons are described yet. Feel free to offer suggestions!

ETA:

Stranger in a Strange Land:

Stranger is a friendly, very intelligent dragon who loves to explore the high mountains of her home.  She is an innovator, always coming up with crazy new ideas and schemes to help her friends.  Many dragons are skeptical of her plans, and no wonder, given how many of them end up failing spectacularly.  Fortunately, no one is usually hurt when this happens -- and when Stranger's plans succeed, they end up changing everyone's lives for the better!

Taking suggestions. PLEASE, check if the dragon you pick already has a description or not- I've got over two dozen and it is difficult to keep track of them. Dark Samus, SA-X, 1000 Words, Mesmer, Aperture Science Birthday Cake, Cold Companion, and Zoidberg have pending ones. I will not work with unnamed dragons/ones in a song/ones with obviously joke names (Gordon's Gravity Gun, ones like that).

ETA:

Like many Pink dragons, Companion loves taking care of others who need it, a behavior that started at a very early age. She would curl up around an egg, maybe two if she could manage, but always found herself chased away. For a long time, she resented this, as everyone knew that was the only thing she really could do- for some reason or another, she could never stand being outside unless it was the dead of winter, and she had heard stories that even her egg had always held a permanent layer of frost. While icicles didn't hang from her body, by the time she grew up, it was clear that Companion had taken after her mother in quite a few ways, and letting her try to warm eggs would be a death sentence to the things.

When she had finally grown and left the cave, Companion decided to find a new way to help people, and keep away from warm weather- years of study have led her to become an excellent guide to humans and dragons who wish to explore the mountains that might otherwise be near impossible to navigate.

Cold Companion - Write that description!

Open to suggestions, but might not take them. Everyone below Xaybec - except Morgana Stormscale and Darnos Spurfoot - remains undescribed. (Yes, I'm working on the two suggestions - will probably post tomorrow).

Valor Goldenblaze was adopted as a hatchling by a pair of kindly dragons, who doted on him to the exclusion of their own daughter.  As a result, he grew up to be incredibly arrogant and self-centered.  Valor isn't completely without redeeming qualities, however, and can sometimes be found helping dragons in distress.  His foster parents often told him that he was destined for great things, and that may yet be the case, if magi advisor Feneva can teach him some humility.  For now, though, the two mainly get on each other's nerves, and Valor continues annoying and occasionally alienating those he comes in contact with.

I am not describing my Cheese/Golds/Silvers/Dinos at the moment. I have plans for them. My 1 Male daydream has a pending description.

DONE:

Zabreila, or Zabbi enjoys running circles around the other hatchlings as most of them cannot keep up with her. When Nug, their teacher, creates "Treasure Hunts" for all her students, eight times out of ten,  it is Zabbi who finds them.

Zabbi can withstand the heat of the Magma dragons for short periods of time and is able to pass them without being notice. In the farthest cave wall of the Magma section there is a small crevice and, through it, a medium sized cave. It is here where Zabbi secrets all of her treasures away.

Dragons with pending descriptions: Stranger in a Strange Land; Wandering Bloom -- none of my other dragons are described yet.

Suggestions welcome, but I can work without them, too. smile.gif

ETA:

Sala and Saya, my poor inbred split:

Sala and Saya are the products of a bizarre, twisted family tree, and there are those who wonder if some of their more...eccentric quirks are a result of this.  Most notably, the two are have determined that they must always be "Opposite."  Sala wants to go left?  Saya will insist on going right.  Saya wants to go for a nice flight?  Sala becomes determined that they should go swimming instead.  This as led to some rather interesting debacles, including Sala's most recent decision to become a strict vegetarian.  Saya, of course, now insists on a rigorous diet of fresh-killed meat.  Despite all their differences, however, the sisters are actually quite fond of each other, and their disagreements are more cheerful bickering than actual arguments.  Woe betide the poor fool who slanders one head in front of the other; such a person is not likely to live to insult them again.
