RP Guides, Tips, Information and Help

I'll keep that in mind, Natasha =) I don't see why people think that. xd.png Because it is mentioned that it is a process. =) I think that they are simply not reading the pinned topics.

Yes, I suppose that's quite likely. There do seem to be a lot of peeps who just jump in without reading. ^ ^ 'Tis too bad, as it makes things take longer for everyone.

This is a really good guide, thanks for posting it. I showed it to some of my friends who were new to RPing and they're doing a lot better now. ^^

Since we have too many pinned topics, this guide will be allowed to float around the forums. =) We're also opening it to member ideas, so people can comment and add in their own ideas. If you want to add another section to this guide, tell one of the moderators (RP, me, the other globals, though it may probably just get sent back to me), and we will go over it, and either approve or deny it, and move it near the top. =)

Does that post help in any way? :3 We had the guide pinned for a while, but it was decided that we had too many sticky'd topics, so it was unpinned.

Can't you just say thread master or TM or something?

Which brings up the next issue: You should add the meaning of OP to the dictionary. I roleplay for almost a year now and I had no idea of the meaning of it until now, whilst 'hit' is really.. well.. stupid to write down. Who doesn't know the meaning of this word?

xd.png I learned about it from the people here. =) I don't think TM would fly. =)

I'll write a note at the top of the thread, defining OP though.

I learned the meaning of it here, too. ^^ I kind of just guessed and turned out to be right, though once I was confused when someone used it for 'over-powered'.

There's another underused term I don't see.

"Bunnying". Lol, it's when someone controlls another character.

I looked around and I've fixed all the mistakes on my RP. The approver assigned to my RP{soupinaz, great approver, by the way!} quit to let a newbie to the approving business approve the rest of my RP, and I haven't heard from him/her in about a week or so now. Please send another approver to help me here. Thanks!

I wasn't sure if I should post here, or PM a RP mod.. but I think that there should be a word of the week, or something like that, for all the newbie RP'ers here. I've joined quite a few roleplays and some of the people who made/joined the RPs aren't all that good with words and spelling stuff out. *is not going to name names* They say 'u' instead of 'you', and so on... but some do make an effort to learn, and I thought a word of the week would be useful for them. Or something along those lines. Like how I never knew the word 'acrimony' before. 'Acrimony: Bitter, sharp hostility, espically in speech.' I rather like to have a large vocabulary, and when I learn a new word I use it a lot. But I just figured I should post this here... Please correct me if I shouldn't have.

The best bet for this would be a thread in forum games or something along those lines. Your best bet is to contact a GD mod to ask if it would be alright.

I have a thread in the Unapproved section. The scroll is closed and it has a dark blotch on it. Is this where I can come to find out what the heck that means? huh.gif

That's more of a help question. :3

But - an open scroll means there are new posts you haven't read. A closed scroll means you've read all the posts. No blotch means you haven't posted in the topic and a blotch means you have posted in the topic.
