I have a lot of the fossil pokemon already so i'm mostly excited about the fact stops are giving out more items for a week, lol. Gonna try to stock up.

 

Honestly from what I got yesterday, stops should always give out items like this? It seems less like a huge event windfall and more like 'oh huh I can actually keep up with playing now'.

I guess the good news is shop prices are lower, so pokeballs are more affordable. I hope the shop prices are a permanent change and not just a sale for the week.

@Syiren: that sucks. If there was a way to transfer 'mon to another user, I would've sent some of the Omanyte that I caught today to you.

I lucked out big time. Not only did I hatch an Omanyte, but I caught anotuer one and then nabbed a Kabuto right after. Also unlocked a shuckle after I got off work, so the day ended on a good note. Also caught a healthy number of Rhyhorn too.

I had a good day! I caught another Pikachu and evolved my Santa Hat Pikachu onto a Raichu! I evolved a Geodude into a Graveler, I almost have enough candies to evolve my Bayleef and a surprising catch: Croconaw. I'm still waiting for an Aerodactyl and a Larvitar to show up

I unlocked Cloyster and hit level 26 today. I'm only eight or nine candies away from unlocking Steelix. It's a good thing that I don't run out of Pinap berries anymore.

They are giving out marginally more items, yes. I've noticed a definite increase.

 

And no, the shop prices are not permanent. It's for the event.

I hatched my first aerodactyl today. I also caught a graveler and unlocked that. I can evolve it as well, but it's even worse than my geodudes so I'm going to evolve one of those. I just hatched a tangela. I already had one, but this one is better. I got a kabuto like yesterday or something. I caught another onix and am close to evolving my ivysaur. I did so much today that my journal doesn't even show the whole day.

I'm not happy. I finally had enough to to evolve one of my high powered Scyther. It was at 1,300 CP when I evolved it, it's CP went to 1,500 Like what the heck!? I was cheated out of a high powered Scizor

Yeah, I was about to come here and let people know to choose buddies wisely for the week! I luckily noticed my onyx's time had been cut short, so I switched to Chansey. Got a few candies today, so I'm at like 34/50. Much nicer than how long it's going to take to get those candies once the event ends. >.>

 

Other than that, I'm gonna be the grumpy Debbie Downer here. I spent three hours walking around the park today - an hour's drive total for me - and all I got were two stinkin' slugma (I caught a macargo ages ago, so don't much care about evolving one - I'm shooting for unlocks), one stinkin' kabuto, one stinkin' geodude, one stinkin' rhyhorn, and an onyx. Not an omanyte in sight, much less an aerodactyl. I had better luck finding what I actually need when I spent half an hour just driving for seven measly stops. =\

I was able to evolve my slugma into a macargo, so that's an unlock for me. also unlocked a graveler. So close to a bellossom but oddish are at a low for me right now. Caught an omanyte, kabuto and some more rhyhorn so inching closer to those unlocks. So mad my weekend got ruined by a banquet and then working today. Then I have to go to the Mall right before closing today to drop an insane amount of money on a new phone. At least I can try to catch something before we leave.

 

I caught my first larvitar this morning. Still can't find a shuckle. They appear but I can't get to them. Hopefully a walk this evening will do the trick. It's stays light enough now. Hoping for the remaining rhyhorn and a few onix. I think I'll have all of the rock types if I can evolve everyone and unlock the shuckle. Am I missing any?

 

Edit: I'll be missing a corsola.

Which I saw one of those at a nearby stop on my way to work. Keywords On-the-way. I couldn't go there to catch the dang thing, so no Aero unlock for me. Which really sucks because I've been trying to get him out of a 10K for months. I already got three Larvitar and two Lapras from 10Ks which I love, but I still need that Aero, Mareep and Chansey. *makes pouty face*

 

I have to work again tomorrow, but I'll be off Tuesday and Wednseday, so I'll be hunting like crazy then....when its not raining because the weatherman called for 70%. figures.

i get that slugma evolves into a rock type and all but i really wish he wasn't included in the event. literally all i get are geodudes and slugmas. i was hoping to maybe get a larvitar since i've seen them a couple of times before the event but like... nothing. it doesn't help that my town has multiple tracker deadzones so i dont easily see a lot of what actually spawns. the rock type spawn ratio doesnt seem nearly as high as it did for ghost/water, and maybe a little less than grass, and what rock types i am getting are junk. only about half of the spawns in my area are actually rock types.

I just now got a Larvitar from a 10K egg and automatically hatched it into a Pupitar. I'm walking my Charmander so I can see how many candies I can get before the event is over (I'm close to Charmeleon rn) but Charizard is going to be a pain to get.

I wish I had more time to go to pokestops, but I've stocked up on about 40 balls so that's not bad for me.

Went on a walk with my mom, so not much of a chance to actually catch anything I'm looking for, but I am up to 37 Chansey candies. If I can make it to 45 before the event ends, it'll be worth walking Chansey at the regular walking rate to unlock blissey.

I unlocked Golem and Omastar yesterday, and I'm not far away from evolving my Kabuto and unlocking Kabutops. Caug a Larvitar today, I'm "already" up to 35 candies since I've gotten it twice from an egg and evolved in to Pupitar.

 

Slugmas are annoying the heck out of me, they seem os hard to catch! I've wasted tons of balls on low cp Slugmas when they just _won't_ stay. All in all really liking this event, I'm 500m away from getting 50 Sandshrew candies and unlocking Sandslash!

Luckily unlocked aerodactyl yesterday! The fire station by my house (which I feel awkward and weird parking at...). The park once again was a disappointment. Honestly, I'm pretty underwhelmed by this event except for buddies. I've given up on catching a good onyx. =\

Slugma, Geodude, Kabuto, and Omanyte aplenty, but no sightings yet for my fav Pokemon Aerodactyl? I'm not liking my odds if there's only a day or so left of the event. And no Onix or Larvitar either. I've seen Shuckle occasionally, but those buggers are quick to run despite looking like they can't even walk.

 

I guess I just live in a very sparse rock environment =P The water and plant events seemed a lot more pervasive, but there's more Pokemon of those types I suppose. Crossing my fingers for some of that fleeting Aerodactyl luck!

Shoot. I'm only at 41 chansey candies. Probably won't get out before the event ends tomorrow, so might have to go on a late walk tonight. >.>

 

EDIT: Misremembered and had 43 candies, so I just walked for 47! Then I have to decide if I want to wait, potentially forever, for a great Chansey to come along or just evolve a decent one I have. xD

I have unlocked Omastar, Kabutops and Magcargo on this event, and walked my Ponyta and Sandslash enough to evolve those too! I'm still 4 candies away on my Growlithe, so I'll have to do a quick loop later today. I even put a Pokemon on a gym yesterday (which I never do, because I'm so scared someone else will show up and I just hate interacting with people so I just... don't do gyms) because someone had just claimed a gym for Valor and there was a free slot, so why not. I've also caught few Onix, which is amazing because I was sure I'd never get to Steelix!

Finally unlocked a Rhydon and its a good one. He's already sitting nicely on top of a gym.

This event was great, I got a lot of new things for my Pokedex. I finally got enough candies to get Kabutops, Rhydon, Golem, Magcargo. I caught Shuckle, Omastar, Onix, 2 more Magcargo, Aerodactyl and I got my very first Larvitar!

 

I finally got enough candies to evolve a Teddiursa into Ursaring and I found my very first wild Dratini. I didn't get enough candy from walking with my Exeggcute to get an Exeggutor, work and a few other factors didn't help me. At least I managed to get 8 candy so I'm closer than I was before.
