Messiest lineages?

Recommended Posts

Hi! Pretty self explanatory, show off some of the most cluttered lineages ever. They can be "bad" lineages too (like heavily inbred ones) or just ones that are incredibly displeasing to look at aesthetically.

Mine is ~Removed for the protection of the owner~ i found on Vally Sherwood. I'm...I'm not sure why this exists? Why there are so many dragons in here? This dragon is technically a Dorkface and Penk child, but it took a long way to get there...

I think this topic might be better off if it were the messiest lineage you owned or bred/helped create.

That way people are volunteering to share their messy egg-ventures.

Many of the dragons I got before 2011 are a hot mess. I was super chill about lines, but I now only breed the rares and ones that might turn alt. Not releasing the poor souls because I love them, but there's just not much of a trading market for lines without some kind of pattern. (Checkers and PB even gens are my personal faves.)

I don't think any of my hollies are inbred, but they are not very aesthetically pleasing other than the 8th gen even gen.

As for inbreeding, one time my friend and some other people got two offspring of the originals, and made variations of this. I have her brother/cousin and they have brought it to gen 9, but I don't wanna link someone else's dragon.

I think the 9th gen one puts me in the lead for how far to drag this monstrosity. I'm glad dragons have such good genetics that all of them are in perfect health despite massive inbreeding. smile.gif

Ok it's not MESSIEST LINE EVAH, but I always weep when you find a holiday dragon in the AP, like the parent names, get your hopes up--then see it's a pretty line bred to a horrible crazy line for who knows why. Or even worse, when it's a CB holiday!

To be fair they do make for guilt free freezing though, haha. https://dragcave.net/lineage/w4TxX

This little guy goes back 20 generations, and comes from a background of death, destruction and in some cases a family that was a bit *ahem* too close. laugh.gif But, he gets the job done when I need an influence and he'll always have a home with me.

Frozen AP find from 2013: https://dragcave.net/lineage/6UkuR

23rd gen completely unorganized and inbred. I probably kept it because I like Storm hatchlings. (It's also a Dorkface, connected to Midas through a Zombie. smile.gif - And if you need to unlock Alt Blacks in the Dragon Encyclopedia, you'll find some to click in this lineage!)

Something I bred myself in 2010: https://dragcave.net/lineage/ee84

So apparently there was a time when I didn't mind breeding messy lineages, but I already knew about Dorkfaces and Thuweds.

My two pinks that was listed first are mother and daughter, and man that lineage is so messy. Look at the daughter. (she's below her mother which is the first pink I listed on my scroll)

If I remember right, there was no lineage view back in the first few years that the site was made, so nobody really cared about who they bred what with. tongue.gif

I'm kind of a compulsive freezer, so seeing messy lineages usually makes it much easier for my conscience to deal with. In a way though I feel like messy lines are way more interesting. You get to see a lot of old and unique dragons. And I've never understood what was so bad about inbreds either.

Here's my messiest. I love its code <3

I haven't got that many messies, but I think that Berett and Mardah takes the cake on the messiest dragons I've got. smile.gif

Berett is a 17th gen and Mardah is a 23rd gen.

I might have messier lineages but this one's pretty tousled looking in the family tree tongue.gif

I kind of like some messy lineages, to be honest. I admit to breeding some messy BSAs to the AP at times. But I think they look best if you can visually make sense of them, you know? If you have to scroll too far to take it all in, then it's too much.

I actually like these messy lineages laugh.gif I think they're more interesting than the "calculated" lineages.

Here's one of an abandoned egg I took:

https://dragcave.net/lineage/aTlWF

It started out neat with the Arsani and Pryalspite dragons and then it all went south haha. I will keep it going. I will keep it messy.

This lineage isn't messy, it is even gens, but it is deliberately inbred. Been working on this one for a while, then dropped it, then decided to keep going and see just how far I can go.

I might consider trading the egg for something cool.

Rather Inbred Red ~Please use /lineage/ links for growing dragons~

[Edit: Thank you for whomever fixed this. I haven't posted here in a while and forgot about using lineage, not view... had just come back to fix it.]

I saw a 21 gen messy astrapi today!

There were tons of different older breeds, and what I thought where caveborns had ten unseen gens behind them.

THE HORROR!

This one is my craziest lineage EVER. Longest thing I've ever seen, and there's only one part where there isn't any inbreeding. I only noticed this one's lineage after he grew up, and I was astounded, but I love him so I'll keep him forever.

https://dragcave.net/lineage/GqUrw There we go.

I was an older member (joined back in either 10 or 11, I've forgotten since then, and was off site for literally YEARS before someone reminded me of the place over on another dragon breeding site *ahem*.

Anyhow, I came back and was tiding up and found THIS THESE:

Make of them what you will.
