Make up

Recommended Posts

I started doing make up in seventh grade and love it ever since. I just love doing that and trying out new tutorials and techniques, especially if I go somewhere special. But over the day I prefer a more natural look. smile.gif

My favourite make up items for some time now are red lipstick, black liquid eyeliner and a good mascara. What about you? smile.gif

I don't wear make up

I'm too lazy and I like the way my face looks as is.

It's fun to play with every now and then but, it's not an every day thing for me.

I'm not a make-up girl. It's just not my thing. Every once in a while I'll paint my nails with my niece or put some chap stick on my lips when they're dry, but that's pretty much it.

I love it. Sometimes I like to experiment with it and see what I like and don't like.

I wear it rarely. Mainly when I go out or if I have something important at work.

I haven't worn foundation in years. Occasionally I will wear powder, but mostly eyeliner, shadow and lipstick. I prefer neutral tones.

I don't leave the house without makeup on. I keep it natural-looking so it isn't really noticeable anyway, but it gives me more confidence about how I look.

I'm not into wearing makeup myself mostly because I don't like the way it feels on my face, but I like seeing what kinda things other people can do with it c:

I don't think I've worn any makeup other than lipstick for the past decade and a half. I also find it very obvious and unnatural (yes, including the "natural" kind of light makeup) on other people whenever they use it, which kind of defeats the point of it?

The main reason why I never wear makeup is the feeling of it on your face. Do what you might, I cannot bear the feeling of my face covered with fine dust and muck, to the point where all makeup would either soon travel to my sleeve as I absentmindedly try to wipe it away, or I will be getting increasingly twitchy and almost desperate to rake my nails over my face just to get it off. The fact that most makeup smells like something very stale doesn't help, either.

I used to wear makeup but haven't been able to wear it in years. I have rosacea and all makeup causes a burning sensation on my skin.

Me too, especially after a night with not enough sleep (which is basically every night since I started college because I have to get up at 6 AM to be there in time dry.gif ), you know, to cover up the lack of sleep and feel better about my looks. smile.gif

I used to use foundation before because I had to be sure my pimples were covered up and everything, but I haven't done it in a while, I rarely use it nowadays. I use powder (it has an amazing coverage), I'm obsessed with using my eyeliner and sometimes I get frustrated with the wings not looking even (it drives me crazy), and usually nude lipstick. smile.gif

But I can also decide to wear red lipstick during the day, depends on what I wear and what I feel like at the moment. smile.gif

As for the feeling on my face, I don't feel much of a difference, probably because I've been putting on make up for years now, and I got used to it. But I do agree that putting on tons of make up on a daily basis isn't too healthy for the skin, so I tend to avoid using tons of products unless I really have to (as I mentioned, no foundation, just powder). So sometimes when I see a make up tutorial with girls and women who do such things every day does make me want to try out some techniques, but only for special occasions, not for every day purposes. biggrin.gif

Very little, and not very often. I go completely without for 90% of the time.

My face is too "soft"-looking, so makeup looks dirty and trashy on me for most part. When I put on makeup it's mostly just some BB cream (because it doesn't feel as "cake-y" as foundations and powders) and lip balm that may or may not have some color in it. On some days I put on a little mascara.

I definitely feel more confident when I wear it...and I have been wearing it more at work, but many mornings I forget...

I've never owned makeup. The only times I've used it is during a play I was in because I had to look a certain way for my role, and during prom when my sister got me to wear some foundation (?) to hide the pimple redness. I don't find it worth the time and I don't mind my face as-is, and I just don't see the point of it for me.

I don't wear make-up. I like how I look, and I find that make-up is just a waste of time to put on. The only time I ever wore make-up is during my graduation, but I couldn't do mascara, kept flinching.

The closest thing I come to make-up is facepaint for halloween biggrin.gif

I generally don't use it, I own a little bit, but I'm too lazy to put it on and take it off each day, I prefer to keep my morning routine simple so I don't have to stress about. And last time I tried it just felt all wrong for me, heh, just not my thing smile.gif

I don't use it because when I do it I feel like I'm putting a mask on and being dishonest. The only make up I use is stage make up.

Not to mention the fact that once you're wearing it you can't cry, scratch your face or rub your eyes without smearing it everywhere.

Besides the points above one of my trusted guy friends said that women are far more beautiful without it. He then went on to say that there’s an attractive girl who gets on his train during his commute to work barefaced. She sits down and gets her make up out and ten minutes later gets off the train looking far less attractive. (Note he also says that this isn't because her make up is done badly she does it normally.) *glomps him*

I think he needs to say this to a school assembly of pre-teen girls just getting into make up. It makes me sad that so many of my friends think they're not beautiful without their make up.

I don't wear makeup, the last time I remember even putting on makeup I ended up getting a rash all over my face, guess my skin doesn't like it tongue.gif.

Nope, unless it's a special occasion and I get dressed up, or I need it for a play I'm in. I tell people it's because I'm confident enough in the way I look without makeup, which is true enough, but the real reason is that I like sleep far too much to be bothered to get up early enough to put on makeup. I know it doesn't take that long for people who are experienced, but I'm really not interested in learning. Though I should. It gets irritating not being able to do things like eyeliner and maskera when I need them for shows.

I don't like makeup that involves your entire face. Things like eye liner, and lipstick are fine because they are minimal. I feel that makeup no matter how 'natural' or how little is used still looks bad. Its noticeable. No matter how 'natural' a look you try to do, everyone knows. Everyone can tell. They just dont say anything because well thats what 'beauty' is. I think it looks ugly, no mater how much or little makeup is used. It looks unnatural and there is no need to hide your lovely skin under tons of chemicals that have no benefit to you in the long run. On top of that I feel that women who use makeup set them selves up for the disappointment of when men don't like them without it. They complain but really, when you've worn a mask of 'beauty' the entire time they've known you and thats what they've become attracted to, how can you expect them to be attracted to the real you?

In the end I don't like it. Everyone I've known seems to use it and it looks really off and they don't look like them when they do. It changes who you are from a physical stand point and I don't like it. I like showing who I am and if someone is gonna love my face, their gonna love my face, not some fake face I plaster on every morning because my normal face feel flawed. My normal face is flawed. I get blemishes and my skin is a bit shiny, but I'm ok with that and everyone has come to love me for me so that's what matters :3

I don't do makeup. If you feel good with it, absolutely more power to you and do what you want! I admire what kind of magic some people can do with it. But it's just not my thing. Strangely I can put a lot of effort into dressing up, but wearing makeup, to me, would be trying to look pretty in someone else's eyes rather than mine - and I'm not down with that. :] Basically my stupid face is great as is lol.

(Besides, I'm a lazy arse and would rather get a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning as opposed to fussing around in front of the mirror tongue.gif And because I'm a dork, that would be a lot of fussing to get it remotely right. *zero spatial skills*)

My (male) best friend keeps wanting to draw on my face though. And my nails. It's driving me up the wall, I've just been like, why don't you wear this eyeliner and nail polish YOURSELF if you love it so much?! I do wish it was more acceptable for guys to wear makeup, because then maybe he'd quit pestering me when he knows for a fact that trying to apply eyeliner irritates my precious eyes. dry.gif (I get squeamish... ick)

He's already the one with the long hair while I'm planning to cut mine short, anyway. Can't hurt to confuse people a bit more lol

Boy do I love drawing on my face with facepaint though. And being drawn on with that (as opposed to scary eyeliner), for that matter. (I think the lady at the event intended it for children, but who cares, right?) No, my avatar is not me, but I'd totally go out like that given the chance. And I and said friend may have left the house looking like goths on crack on more than one occasion.

I don't wear make up, but tried it once when I was little. Yet I'm not quite understand why people wear it in ordinary days. Not comfortable with our own face?

That's why I wear it. I rarely wear it now, though, since I don't have time to put it on before school. When I do, it's just some foundation and eye shadow if I feel like it. Sometimes mascara. Never tried eyeliner, though. Also, try to put anything on my lips and I'll probably hate you. It's really uncomfortable for me.

Also, I'm not a fan of bright colors or extremely noticeable makeup. At all.

Done at my friends' wedding. It was so light no-one noticed, but I was still scratching my eye without even remembering I was wearing eyeshadow.

Yes, and no. I love watching the tutorials on YouTube and trying them out. I have successfully found several ways I look horrible in make up.

I don't wear it everyday, mostly because I work with chemicals and have had an eye cream/ foundation react and give me chemical burns on my eyelids. Only have to have that happen once for me to stop wearing makeup at work.

Otherwise its game on.
