BACKSTORY

Originating in some forgotten forest, the story of several dozen dragons had ventured across Europe until it finally ceased in the distant land of Nova Scotia. Before the end of the previous story, a hoard of demons had ravaged what the dragons called the Dragon Training Grounds, or Grounds for short.

The Grounds was simple, yet complex. It consisted of a castle, a lake, numerous caverns and ruins underneath the ground, and a forest forbidden to every resident except for its caretaker.

Years later, the dragons who had been driven to Nova Scotia returned with revenge in their hearts. However, the demons were still there and ambushed them. A simple spell from the demon's leader knocked every one of them unconscious. The dragons were tossed into a pit of sap that was soon crystallized by another spell. The group was still alive, however, their bodies were now dormant, trapping their souls inside them. Each dragon was buried in a single masloeum-like cavern below the castle- out of sight, out of mind. The dormant dragons still lie in wait for their release, speaking to each other through telepathy. They hope that someone new will be seen through their mind's eye. They wait for another voice to speak with them. They wait.

PREVIOUS EVENTS

Two hundred years have passed and the demons have long since returned to their plane of hell. The dragons in amber wait for someone to free them. And the Grounds is deteriorating, because the current occupants are unable to keep it alive.

The Steampunk Age is alive and well and many Europeans want dragon hide as their leather, and the ores that are naturally found in dragons for their metals. Many colonies of the beasts have given up hope of redemption and let themselves be slaughtered. Dragon population is dwindling. They need help.

The dragons at the Grounds want this to stop, but the human race has grown so large so fast, there is no where else for them to hide. They are a parasitic species that threatens the survival of the large beasts. The invasions on the Grounds so far have been stopped, but the dragons grow weary and the magical barriers that surround the entirety of the Dagon Training Grounds fade more and more with each passing day. More and more humans race to the Grounds at the thought of coin in their pocket and capture the inhabitants. The lizards would have lost hope, but the frail Guardian of Nature that was their oracle spoke of a prophecy before she too was dragged off and killed.

"There, 'neath the earth

Sleeps the few that await rebirth.

They are dormant, barred from time.

Frozen fast, during their prime.

Wake them quick, before you pass,

And these dark times will not last~"

So far, the dragons have no idea what to make of this prophecy, but they are sure that they will find the answers within the large leather-bound book that rests in the old library of the castle. It is entitled:

"History of the Dragon Training Grounds.

Sgarr Fether

Feralo Fallel

Keisha Jericho

__________

__________

__________"

There was room for more names on the cover, but none of the blanks were filled in, possibly explained by the scorch marks that scar the surface of the ancient tome. The book contains the history of the Grounds ever since the beginning of Medieval times -800 AD-, yet all the current librarian has uncovered that has any relevance to the prophecy is that a small group had fled for Nova Scotia in the midst of a fiery demon attack, but returned a few years later only to be defeated and buried in the caverns. (This information had been hastily written by what was a different handwriting than the caretakers who had written the final entries, signed by a baby dragon who called herself Niomi. they assumed that this was the same hatchling who had been written about during Feralo’s entries; the dead sister of another dragon.)

The frightened and weary inhabitants of the Dragon Training Grounds hope to uncover more clues from the ruins of the main castle; they haven't touched it, as demonic power still resides in certain areas. But they are now mustering up courage to go and collect any artifacts they can find, such as eggs shells, molted scales of hybrid dragons, a lock of blue fur, a can of sparkly goo that decorated scales, and the many portraits and books that were housed in the enchanted library.

Will they uncover the message behind this prophecy? Or will they succumb to the humans? Only time will tell.

ALTERNATE POINT OF VIEW

You are a human. You can be a hunter/housewife/aeronaut... whatever the hay you want to be (except super saiyan. That's just be wierd. o>o). You live in the Steampunk era, which means... AIR POLLUTION! YAY! Kidding, it means blimps, blade wings, cyborgs, and tiny top hats. You are somehow related to the hunting of the dragons; be you the hunter who harvest them, the blacksmith who uses their hide and bones to make things steampunk-y, or the itty bitty children who watch in wonder and horror as the cart of dead dragons that have been harvested rolls past every day. Let your imagination run wild with this one.

Just promise me, stay Steampunk. Here's some links for your convienence:

Ruins of the Main Castle

Where the dragons up until Keisha's reign were housed. It was able to house over five-hundred dragons. Each room had a walk-in closet, a dresser, vanity, two-dragon bed, and a very intricate rug. Magical name plates were also affixed to each door. The castle opened into a grand main hall. A large door on the left opened into the ballroom where Christmas celebrations, birthday parties, dates, and masquerades were held. If you walked out of the ballroom's back door, you would find yourself in a hallway of rooms. If you walked out of the ballroom's door that was near the mantle, you would find yourself in a fine diningroom. Behind the dining room was the kitchen.

Now head back to the main hall.

The door on the right led into the library, which is a mess, but still intact, the walls around it still stand with the help of magic spells.

Now go back to the main hall and head up the grandiose staircases right in front of you.

The main hall continued into three staircases. The left one led into the West Wing(mainly bedrooms, but there were gardens on the roofs of towers and large rooms where one could train their skills. The West Wing is located above the ballroom), the right one led to the East Wing(same thing as West, located above the library), the middle one led to a cartographer's lab on the second floor, an armory on the third, a large indoor garden on the fourth, and a huge balcony on the fifth. The castle had a total of twenty-eight stories. The castle is currently in ruins, with no trace of its former glory save for the library. The medical area was a small stone building located to the castle's immidiate right. It could house a dozen injured dragons plus the medic and her apprentice.

Faerie Garden

Just as its name says; a garden full of faeries. The garden is lush, owning a plethora of many European flowers. Tiny sprites of pastel-colors flit about this garden in happiness, blissfully unaware of the chaos that reigns beyond their pretty little garden. They don't mind it when dragons visit their garden, they enjoy it, save for the dark faeries that live beneath the dead rosebush. The rosebush is in the farthest corner of the garden and the faeries that live underneath it prefer seclusion and will attack dragons that come too close.

Apple Tree

Planted by a hatchling and given its enchantment by her euphoria, the Apple Tree always bears enough fruit to keep the omnivorous dragons fed. Yes, the tree is that big. Yet lately, its fruit has turned rotten, its bark is peeling, and for the first time in the tree's life, its leaves are falling. The Apple Tree is dying because of the discord that ravages the land. Its roots aren't fed by water; they are fed by harmony.

Pond

"Oh look a pond how pretty... Wait; did you say something about coral? Starfish? Cyda, you pull my leg! There's no such thing as a sea in a lake! See for yourself? Okaayy..."

The Pond is normal on the surface. You look at the water, you see freshwater fish and little debris, normal right? Wrong. The Pond may look normal on the surface, but once you dive down about seven feet, it spreads out to reveal what you would normally see on a coastal shelf. Saltwater fish are found here and the water gets an estuary taste. Your imagination can fill in the rest, just think 'Small Ocean'. There are countless caverns that have air pockets in them near the bottom. Happy treasure hunting. wink.gif

Forbidden Forest

Stay out of it, that's all you need to know. The day is perilous, the night is perilous. Stay within the barriers. If you really want to know what's in there, ask the dragons in the amber.

Hunting Forest

Since the dragons don't dare leave the safety of the Grounds, they hunt in the forest near the new castle. It is full of game so the dragons can't really go hungry unless they overhunt. The current caretaker logs every kill made in a small scroll, this way they can make sure that they don't go over their monthly limit of game that they're allowed to take from the forest. Animals under two years aren't allowed as food, pregnant animals aren't allowed as food, mothers seen yearlings aren't allowed, strong, well-bred male animals aren't allowed as food.

Castle

A sad replication of the first castle. No more than a glorified fort. Library? Nah, bookshelf. Medical area? Nope, a tent in the back. Ball room? Kitchen? Uh, no, hallway and cast-iron pot. You get the gist.

Entrance

A dragon-sized tunnel that travels underneath the barrier. This allows dragons to go freely back and forth between the Grounds and outside of the Grounds. Humans have not nor will ever find this entrance unless the barrier fades completely, as a spell conceals the entrance. Of course, most dragons choose just to fly out the top unless they lack wings. Unfortunately, humans have found that the barrier is only a circle around the Grounds, not a full sphere. The rich hunters and adventurers use their blimps and flying machines to ambush and corner the dragons by flying over the exposed top and shooting from there.

RULES

  • No god-modding (Controlling other characters)
  • No powerplaying (Game-breaking powers)
  • Put "Eggs? Scrambled please." in the Other section of your sheet
  • The dragons in the balls of amber are to be played by their same owner who played them in New Beginnings. If they do not want their character, that character will deteriorate until death inside their amber.
  • No killing other characters unless their player gave you permission.
  • PG-13 rating of course. No excessive gore (i.e. explicit torture, torture rooms, overly gory deaths ect) or sexual themes. In New Beginnings, it got really steamy at some points, probably more so than was allowed. But if your dragon and another dragon want to have a clutch timeskip until the laying of the egg.
  • I think that's it. Have fun and put "Tacos" beside the first passcode in your form.
  • YOU HEARD ME, HAVE FUN!
  • Oh, and PM your form to me.
  • Stay steampunk. Good god, stay steampunk. I cannot stress this enough.
  • If a person does not make an In Character post in 30 days from their last In Character post, that person's characters will be deemed inactive and will be ignored until the person brings them back. (Ex. June 16-July 16)

A shadow slinked through the ruins of a once mighty castle, casting here and there for remnants of a day long gone. Halting for a moment, the dragon cast its eyes to the only structure that still stood within claw over his muzzle. Morning and mulling, two things the hunted should not do, lest they panic and break. He shook his golden mane, splaying his claws in front of his face. No. he was not in danger here; there was safety in being in a group!

He would convince himself of that, in time. However, he had a job to do. To search the ruins of this accursed place for answers to the Guardian's riddle. No rush; they just had to search, survive the humans' new, dangerous weapons while they searched for salvation, all the while trapped within this globe of doom, which the...

No pressure. He was a tough, strong, he-dragon, wasn't he?

And thus collected, he decided to take a break. It was enough to be driven to distraction by panic and worry normally; but, given that he was in a trap infested demonic landfill, it did best to be cautions. His limbs felt tired from a long day of scouring rubble and finding diddly squat. He sighed.

And so, he decided to retire himself by the lake, where he may find some peace and quiet. And all the time having no idea of what was occurring deep beneath his feet...

-------------------------

"It's not so bad down here. After a while, one can almost find this kind of entrapment... Serene...." A voice in the darkness whispered. The owner had gotten quite used to getting trapped; quite used to sitting idly as the decades rolled by. Though it wasn't as though she could move; she was, quite trapped, encased in amber. She was used to the being encased in amber part; a fail safe to the magic that kept her alive and well. That kept all Fey alive and well. All in all, this lucky pup was a very lucky draconic hybrid; it was not often that Fey hybrids kept their life support magic too long after hatching. It was not often that they survived to adulthood. "Yeah, that's it Vaeli; born survivor!" She cheered telepathically within the silence. She wasn't here to die! No way!

The water on the surface of the lake rippled as something swam it. A small deep sea dragon jumped out of the water, looking around for anything out of the ordinary. Seeing nothing, he dived back down and swam to the bottom of the lake, resting and thinking hard about what he could do to help, since being a water base dragon, he could do little to help in the search of the castle. He soon gave up and fell asleep.

---------------------------------

All he could see was blackness and all he could feel was his immediate surroundings, which didn't tell him much. Doom mentally sighed, head hurting from using his thinker box too much. He wondered about how he was going to get out of this cage he was stuck in, alone.

Garinka probed Fusion's mind with her telepathy, curious to see if the mad dragon would let her talk to her. No reply. "Fuse?" she tried again. Still no answer. The white dragon looked with her mind's eye at the large room they all were in, as she had done a thousand times before, there they all were, dragons preserved in huge chunks of amber. If a dragon first walked through the ornate doors, they would find themselves in a large room, the collapsed throne room of the main castle to be exact. There, the dragons are arranged in a semi-circle in the center, Keisha and Feralo near the door. When would their savior come? A question she had asked a thousand times... She moved her mind's eye to look at the chunk of amber near the door, the gilded gold door. Feralo and Keisha side by side, two caretakers ready to defend. Now there was only one. She remembered listening to her sweetheart as he recalled everything they had gone through as he thought his last thoughts... Taking over the Grounds from Sgarr, attending Sgarr's funeral, living alone together in the deserted Grounds for over 800 years, meeting the new dragons who arrived, handing over the Grounds to Keisha, wisthanding a demon attack, moving to Nova Scotia (he might as well have died right then. Moving from the place his had been born and raised in was no easy feat.), coming back, being ambushed, living in amber... Dying in amber... The white healer held back a cry of despair. He had whispered their whole lives in his dying thoughts then finally said 'I love you' as his body and mind shut down... Garinka longed to hold her mate's body, to clutch him in her arms. But to know that he had still loved her over 200 years of little to no contact... It consolodated her for a little while.

~~~~~
Fusion didn't reply to the dragon who had been like a mother to her for 200 years. She couldn't, the walls had ears and the floor had eyes. The lights might flash and flash and flash and flash and flash! The sounds might come back, but she didn't mind that. No, the voices were welcome. Two voices to be exact. She used to have four voices. but over the span of 200 years, two of them left. So now she only had the two named The Wisest and Naiavee. Naiavee sounded like a little girl, perhaps a 13 year old human. The Wisest sounded like she might be a grandmother. They talked to her and said nice things. Nice things...
~~~~~

Spyro shut off his telepathy connection with the other dragons in the semi-circle. The reason he did so was because he was crying again and didn't want them to think he was a wimp. Even if tears couldn't flow down his muzzle or he couldn't breathe and choke and sob, he still sounded like he was crying if you listened to him. Where was Cynder? He hadn't talked so her in a while so he had forgotten where she was located in the room. He opened his mind's eye to look about the room. Ah, there she was. He looked at her, full of longing. They hadn't touched eachother in 200 years. How he missed the little things. The sparkle in her eyes, the way she walked, the way she ice skated (what an awful experience, she broke her leg ><), and the feel of her scales if they brushed past eachother. That's why he cried, he missed everything... He opened up his telepathy connection, remembering something she said about liking guys that weren't all tough and had an emotional side.

~~~~~
Grublin nosed around the ruins of the old castle, sniffing for demonic traces that might harm him and the others. He was exploring the decimated west wing, curious about the old ball room and the dead Christmas tree that he found there. It still had some gifts under it, and a book The Night Before Christmas. He was excited with his find and went further into the ballroom, staring at what looked like it used to be a grand fireplace. He stood before the rubble of it, sniffing the stone floor for any scent that might have been still there. Occasionally he found scents of the dragons gone by. He smelled lots of eggs one time in the east wing, and the smell of scorched wood was there as well. Now he only smelled that special coating that covers an Albino and the smell of a Neotropical female. They had lain in front of the fireplace and just basked the fire's glow, perhaps. Maybe this was the pair that Feralo Fallel's entries had mentioned. What were their names? Mirissa... that was the female... And... what was the name of the male? Epock? Epo? Epoch! That was right, Epoch. Epoch was Mirissa's mate. But he never smelled an egg, or a hatchling. Perhaps they had left and laid the egg elsewhere.
It was dark.
And cold.
Keisha's mind was swimming. Another day I'm trapped in here... She had thought to herself. How long had she been trapped? It had to have been over 100 years. The last thing she had remembered before she was stuck in this place was that she tried to fight off... What was it?! She yelled in her mind. Keisha couldn't remember. I really hope everyone is okay...
Keisha had tried multiple times a day to reach anybody, anybody at all, through telepathy. She never got an answer. Keisha felt weak, too. She needed to get near the sun. I can't move. Where the hell am I?
Where's Doom...?
Keisha's heart ached at the thought of her mate. She really missed him. She hadn't spoken with him, even through telepathy, since she got trapped in this place. She mentally whimpered to herself, then growled. I really hope he's okay. And Roran, Cynder... Sunny... Where are my children?
Keisha had only hoped they were safe and far, far from the grounds.
((So how exactly are they gonna get out of the amber? Keisha's weakened so she can't burn it.
I'll send you a character sheet for Cynder and Roran sometime today, Cyda, so I can interact with Spyro. And I don't see my Charrie sheets up in the Charrie sheet section yet. xd.png
And, wow. Haven't RPed since NB... I need to get back in the zone. It's been so long.))
Greilac shook herself mentally, disturbed by the thoughts popping up wantonly in her mind. They did not originate from her... But she knew not enough about magic or telepathy to understand. So, without anything else to distract her, her mind wandered back to the situation at hand. Trapped forever in her exhausted defensive pose, growling slightly at her surroundings. And now utterly encased in amber. Her more magical buddies had abandoned her for dead and gone, she panicked. Was she going mad, imagining scepters of her friends and allies, personalities grotesquely twisted and deluded?
Greilac shrunk further into herself, terrified mind giving up any hope of retaliating. It had only earned her a deathly silence in the end, while all the time she was all too aware of her amber prison...
----
The deluded Fey let her thoughts carry on into silence for a while. Hadn't she been here before...? Hadn't she said those exact same words, oh, fifty years ago? Hadn't she said something along those lines while lying here before entrapment, gasping through her dying life support magic? Saddened, Vayli felt the pin of her chest come back in full force, fatigue coursing through her limbs. She heard a telepathic shout, a cry for help... And resisted the urge to chuckle. If someone had been coming for help... They would have done so by now. But still, she cast out for others there and found less. She couldn't even sense Greilac all to much any more; wait, that was a lie. The dragon was still alive; crouching over her in a position of protection, the steel powerhouse stood strong, but maybe not brave. Not as brave as she stood, oh, two hundred years ago, but still she stood. Though to be truthful, she didn't have much choice in the matter. She sensed one of the more... sane... dragons out there, and reached out with telepathy. Just in time to hear the murmured voice... "My thinker box hurts..." was the bemoaned dragon's speech. Vayli sat there in stunned silence for a moment. "Well, that was complete flunk." Vayli thought with amusement, loud enough for the dragon to hear...
Doom resisted a retort. "Who are you?" He said, being wary around this new dragon. "I've sensed you here before, but I haven't had the energy to talk." He said, chuckling slightly. He could now see his surroundings more clearly with his minds eye. He felt Keisha and tried to speak to her. "Keisha?!Are you alright?" He said frantically.
The deep sea dragon was dreaming silently at the bottom of the lake about a cavern somewhere underground and a strange looking dragon which attacked him on sight. He awoke with a start and swam to the surface, looking for any of his friends.
((Think Spyro, the grublins smashed the rock, that's what the new dragons are gonna do.))
Garinka looked about the cavern once more, taking it in. They couldn't stay here forever, or else they'd all be dead like Feralo... She heard faint rustling from above her, sound echoed in the large room. Another dragon! possibly... Then she broadcasted her thoughts as far as she could upwards, through the rock and through the rubble. "HELP US! WE ARE TRAPPED BENEATH THE EARTH!"
~~~~~

Grublin reared his head back, he could have sworn he heard a faint whispering coming from the floor of the library "Help. Trapped. Earth." The hell? The green dragon nosed around the library, looking into corners he may have missed. He only found a trap door. He was very tempted to go through it and see what lay underneath, very, very tempted... He looked towards the new castle, his heart telling him to go and get the caretaker, but he turned back to the trapdoor and eased it open. Without a sound, the green dragon slipped down into the stone hallway. "Hello?" He broadcasted his thoughts to anyone around.

Vayli puffed up in pride, beaming. "Vayli Seleene, pleased to make you-" She winced slightly as the telepathic yell roared over her mind, wincing and cringing. The telepathic call was one for help; the battered Fey couldn't help but feel a surge of hope go with the plea. She would have closed her eyes and wept, if they hadn't already closed two hundred years ago in pain. She stayed silent for a long while, until she heard, just faintly, a telepathic voice... She was silent for a moment, before calling out with desperate telepathy; "Hey! We're kinda stuck!"

She attempted to squirm in the amber, feeling a sharp stab of pain from her attempts. Was her life support still failing after all this time?! That would be the cherry on top of the cake, that would!

In fact, it would probably be her death...

----------------------

Resignedly, Dvaros passed through the library, scanning the collapsed bookshelves with amusement. he had never really gotten the point of books; if you kept your mind sharp enough, you could remember all you needed to anyways. As he scanned the room, he saw a floor in the hole and peered at it with a frown. He crept closer, peering through and seeing a green, winged dragon's back. From the smell of it, it was Grublin. He halted for e moment, peering at his back, then decided to take the curious route. "Uhh... What is this you've found here, Grublin?" He said uncertainly, hesitating on the approach so that he lingered at the trap door. The passage way looked... dangerous...

"Keisha, are you alright?!"

Doom's voice echoed throughout Keisha's mind. This was the first time he spoke to her since they've been trapped! He was okay! Or was he? Keisha's mind whirled, trying to remember the last time she had seen him. We were fighting together... I got captured... I don't know where Doom was... She thought, then gasped mentally. Sh*t, he must've been captured too... That means... He's with me? Trapped with me?

Keisha's energy was low, but she managed to send out a small telepathic message back to Doom; "Too weak... Need energy... Help..."

Doom let relief spread through his body as he heard Keisha's voice. "Atleast you're alright..." He said. He though long and hard about what to do and after a while of thought he decided he would roar for attention. He concentrated all his energy and roared mentally with all his might, after which he retreated into his mind to conserve energy.

--------------------

The deep sea dragon wondered where everyone was, normally someone would come down to talk to him for a bit. "Gotta stop the bad thoughts Akula...ain't gona get you anywhere." He said to himself as he looked towards the castle. He mentally shrugged and dived down back underwater.

"Someone down here needs help..." Grublin walked carefully down the stairs after walking through the trapdoor. He saw a door on his right after walking a little ways and decided to open it. Right after he opened it, the green dragon saw a small bump in the floor. A pressure plate! He leaped over it and trotted to the right until he came upon another door with a tripwire in front of it. He didn't notice the tripwire and triggered it as he stepped to the door in front of him. A loud screeching noise filled the cavern, forcing him to cover his face with his paws to try and block out the sound. Grublin heard grunts, groans, moans, and shuffling paws. He didn't know what it was, but it sounded dangerous. Grublin went through the door into a circle-shaped chamber with holes in the walls. He shut the door behind him to prevent whatever it was from pursuing him. Click! The door locked behind him and green gas started to fill the room. Immediatly he felt his legs begin to weaken. "Dvaros!" He shouted, banging on the locked door with his tail.

Dvaros followed Grublin down the passage with uncertainty. Following the dragon down the passage was nothing short of daunting, even as he watched the green dragon turn into a side passage, leaping over a small bump in the ground as he did so. After a pause, he stepped over it. And then, with a ring and a crash, a horrible ringing sound filled the skies, assaulting the ears and making Dvaros crouch down, covering his ears until it was long gone. They began to ring; but through that, he could hear Grublin; he sounded like he was in trouble... The black dragon rushed forwards, coming to a halt infront of a stone slab. He resitsed the urge to make a crappy joke; now was so not the time. "Hold on; I'm getting you outta there!"

Rearing up on his back legs, he pounded his front legs into the door with a roar, causing dust to fall from the frame, but not breaking it. He heard a shuffling sound, and leaning against the door, turned back to see a dragon, large, ominous, and definatly not friendly.. Dvaros paled.

Keisha groaned quietly, wincing as she heard Doom roar mentally. She resisted the urge to tell him not to be so loud, but she knew why he was doing that; to have someone else come... Wherever they were, and get them the hell out of there. Keisha knew one thing, though. She had to get out of here. Now. And find the sun. Even the smallest of rays would give her more energy than she has right now.

Wouldn't be too bad if I died in here, Keisha thought to herself. I mean... It's quiet and warm. And it feels like I'm in a deep sleep, so it wouldn't really hu- Keisha's thoughts stopped as she heard something. Is someone else in here...? She thought, trying so hard to look around with her Mind's Eye, but wasn't able to due to her being so weak. Whatever that was, it needs to free us soon...

Grublin ouldn't hear Dvaros on the other side of the door anymore. "Dvaros? What's out there? What's wrong?" The green dragon reared onto his back legs and lurched forward at the door. His forehead made contact with the wood, dazing him for a second and also causing the rotted wood to crack and bend. He rammed the door again, almost sending him tumbling through it as the wood gave in to the force. He opened it now, since the lock was busted, and saw what made Dvaros quiet.

"Oh god..."

During the short amount of time it had taken Grublin to open the door, Dvaros had circled a little ways around the room, completely silent as he battled to subdue the Zombie's will with pure force. Bemusement overtook the zombie’s grotesque features as it stood there impassively, even having the gall to chuckle at its opponent’s failed attempts to subdue it there and then. Dvaros uttered a curse, worry beginning to worm its way into his mind. It didn’t seem like his attempts were making any dent whatsoever… He attempted to think up another plan. None came to mind.

It was at the moment Grublin crashed through the door that Dvaros’s short spurt of luck ran out. Stamping a foot on the ground, his opponent let out a large roar, scraping the foot backwards against the earth, almost as if about to charge at the luckless black dragon. No going back now; with scant else to do to avoid confrontation, Dvaros threw all attempts at mind control to the side. It wasn’t working. He charged at the Zombie dragon, rearing up and crashing into it with his forelegs just before it managed to charge. The zombie was forced backwards a bit, before digging its claws into Dvaros’s forearms and using its superior height and weight to shove him backwards, snapping at the black dragon's face at the same time. The move forced him to lean back slightly to avoid a thorough face gnawing. He stepped back, and the zombie advanced, attempting to force Dvaros to the ground.

Grublin retreated to the corner of the room, his mind spinning in hope that a plan would form. He looked around, it seemed that the tripwires called the zombie to the area. What would the pressure plates do... same thing or something different? He roared at the zombie dragon and charged at it. Within a few seconds, he felt the sickening feel of his horns against rotten flesh and crumbling bones. The zombie dragon snarled as he was tossed off of Dvaros and quickly got up. It limped towards Grublin, who backed away into the dead-end hallway in the left. When the zombie dragon was in close proximity to the green dragon, Grublin flew over it and used his back legs to trigger the pressure plate. The fragile ceiling buckled under an unseen weight. The zombie spun around to face the quick Grublin before a wall of rocks cascaded in front of him, trapping the undead dragon, but not (re)killing him.

"Let's get out of here, that green gas can't be healthy... Are you okay?" Grublin asked Dvaros, leaning over him and wondering what to do about injuries inflicted by zombies.

Dvaros sighed in relief, sagging slightly at the warm feeling that came at a battle just barely avoided. At Grublin’s prompt, he checked his forelegs. The sharp black scales had been torn and shredded aside, leaving deep gashes on his forearms that were bleeding freely. If it had been any normal dragon, the flesh and muscle on their paws would have been shredded by his scales as a result of the attack; however, since his assailant was a Zombie dragon, Dvaros had the sickening feeling his opponent had come out of that mostly unscathed, even by the falling rocks. “Bit battered. I bet even the zombie’s seen better days!” He barked jovially, settling back onto all fours with a chuckle which was quite quickly cut out as he drew in a swift breath, wincing at the pain. A trip to the medic was defiantly on schedule. He didn’t much want to see what amazing ailments would pop up if he left these babies untreated. “Was there anything in that other room you were locked in?” Dvaros inquired, tilting his head to indicate the room with the busted down door. A strange smell had wafted into the room, one which made his limbs feel weak and gooey just by breathing it in… He frowned, wondering what on earth that could be, and where it came from of all places.
