Ib seems like a very underrated game. Kinda reminds me of a serious, horror-esque Undertale.

 

I'm curious if anyone else has played it? I loved it when I first beat it, but it's really grown on me and I want to get all the endings. I got Promise of Reunion on my first try, but (spoilers) I was forced to burn Mary's painting and she died, so I don't think I got the best variation of that ending. It's because I smashed the mannequin head, isn't it...

 

I still loved all the characters, though, even if I couldn't save Mary. Ib and Gary's friendship just made me so happy.

 

If you haven't played Ib, look out for spoilers.

I love this game. I really need to replay it again.

 

Fun Fact; First time I played this, I got the best ending by accident ._. All the stuff you have to do for it, like give Garry his coat back and talk to him multiple times I just did because I was curious. I only found out afterwards when I was actively looking up how to get it ._. Also, Promise of Reunion is the best ending. You can't get an ending where all three of you escape, but there is an ending where all three of you stay together.

 

My best friend, on the other hand, got the Together Forever ending. She was not best pleased

 

I also have a little necklace of Mary.

I did all those things with Gary just because I really loved his character and wanted to be nice to him, haha.

Ib, yes!

One of the three "old" giants of indie horror, the other two being The Witch's House and Mad Father. For me, Ib and The Witch's House ties as first place favourites out of those.

But if you want to try The Witch's House or Mad Father as well, I think I should warn you that they're not quite as... "kind". At least in Ib you weren't mostly alone stuck in a horrible place.

 

I know that you're supposed to be able to play Ib on Mac, I've done that, but there were some freezing issues, so maybe that's being worked on if it's not accessible at the moment.

I played Mad Father and Misao already, I'm going to clean out the entire list on VG's website I think. After I beat Ib a few times and download Yume Nikki, anyway.

 

Mad Father's ending just made me sad... I can only hope the "alternate ending" is the true one.
