Those Who Watch For Aeons

OoC - IC (link) - Discord (link)

---

Welcome to the OoC for Those Who Watch For Aeons!

TWWFA is a multiverse RP, concerned with defeating and sealing the mad Aetherial gods...

In fact, here's the plot and explanation:

Long ago, the Multiverse was young, created by gods named Aetherials, and given aeons of life.

Long ago, the Aetherials watched over their creations, and they? They were the primal incarnates of the multiverse. They were - they are - those forces embodied by aeons of time. But power as theirs... comes with a cost. They were corrupted, and they were sealed.

Oh! But those aeons of imprisonment angered the betrayed gods. They had aeons to sleep...

and aeons to kindle their ire. Aeons to wait and watch. Aeons to plan eternal destruction.

The seal the ancients charmed into existence, and powered with aeons-old runes, is fast fraying.

It is breaking. Shattering. The Aetherials are free once more...

And you are one of the many denizens of the Multiverse. A rampaging Aetherial, tearing holes in reality, has left you in a timeless, ancient location.

It hums... with aeons of an Aetherial's fury

So now you have one task. Seal the Aetherials, seal them again. You can't destroy them, as much as that would stop their wrath. It would destroy that element. And they are far too powerful to go gently into that good night.

No, you must seal them for aeons, as the ancients did, travelling across the Multiverse to find them. And along the way, you'll have to gain the aid of what the ancients left, of the power in the Multiverse, and the power you have. You'll have to defeat the eldest gods, become monsters after aeons.

And if you do not?

The price is aeons of devastation, as the Aetherials rampage unchecked, shattering and destroying their very elements.

Indeed, the stakes are high...

---

So, now we've gotten that out of the way...

Who can we play?

We can play canon characters and OCs from fictional universes. Or if you have your own original universe, feel free to submit a character from there! Feel free to play as many characters as you can handle.

--

Reiterating the rules from the IC:

-All DC and Freeform RPs rules apply

-No powerplays, please

-Keep it PG-13

-Subtle romance, only. No overt, Twilight-style romances. One thing to remember, we're all busy trying to defeat mad Aetherials here.

-Please use good grammar - it's frustrating for others to read through a mess. On that note, no chatspeak or 1337speak either, as it can be hard to read.

-No Mary Sues, by the Aetherials. I know I can accept powerful characters due to what you're fighting, but I also know there is such a thing as too much power, or too much adoration.

-Please post at least 4 sentences per post.

-Please do not use a text colour including bold - I'd like to reserve bolded colours for Aetherials.

-Do not start till I say we can.

-Post forms in the OoC, please and thank you.

-No more than 3 characters allowed per RPer. Characters added before the rule may be kept.

Inactivity: RPs can get held up by inactive posters all too easily. To prevent this, if you do not alert the GM (TehUltimateMage) that you will be away, and fail to post in IC or OoC within 7 days of your last post, you character is open to NPC. Failure to post within 28 days will result in a mod kill or usage as Aetherial pawns to your characters.

While real life comes first, please tell me if possible. Don't be afraid to drop, either. If you tell me you will be on hiatus, your characters will be ignored or NPCed with your permission.

---

Feel free to ask TehaUltimateMage any questions you have about this RP here, or in the Discord.

And, without further ado... on to the form!

Username: [NPC]

Character Name: Kyun

Universe: SPORE: Galactic Adventures

Gender/Pronouns: Genderless, they/them/their

Species: Mpere

Appearance: user posted image, wearing a necklace with a weathered green gemstone with a vein of Red Spice on it and a green holster strapped to their chest, containing a blaster they can operate with their mouth. Stands 2 metres tall (6 feet, 6 in).

Personality: Kyun is a stubborn Mpere who can never really sit still, always on the move. They often are pacing, walking, doing something, and become restless when made to sit still. Despite utilizing technology on their homeworld, they don't quite know how it works but are rather curious. They can be nervous at times, especially in unfamiliar surroundings and new situations. They prefer not to fight, but will do so if pressed. Kyun never was one who could sit still when danger approached though - they had to be doing something.

History: Really, it was a rather ordinary one.

They went to school. They graduated. Kyun set their sights in piloting a starship, taking pilotibg clases. But not a warship - when they got a job, they became the pilot if a commercial ship. But they've been wondering... what if there was more thsn that? What if they could forge their own path through the stars?

Of course, since every captain needs weapons on a ship, they've been saving up for a ship, weaponry, and lessons on ship weapon usage, continuing at their commercial job. They managed to buy a Plasma Pulser recently, but there's still far to go...

That is, until the Aetherial of Reality went on a rampage, and this started...

Abilities/Weapons: Claws - both regular and raptor-type, sharper claws. Beak contains sharp teeth, positioned almost like in a ceratopsian. Tail. Horns on head. Has a blaster (Plasma Pulser (level 2)) that they can operate with their mouth.

Is a fairly agile and speedy creature, as most of their species are.

Other: Carries translator, which needs to hear 15 sentences of another language to translate it. Is carnivorous. The Plasma Pulser is new enough that Kyun doesn't have much experience with it, and therefore they aren't the best shot with it right now.

Character Name: Ashur

Universe: Original

Gender/Pronouns: Male (he/him)

Species: Tenebris Dragon

Appearance: user posted image (average Tenebris indivdual, though slightly larger than average - stands at 2.2M tall)

Personality: Ashur is a fairly grumpy dragon, who prefers not to talk to others. If the conversation goes in the direction of his past or emotions, he suddenly becomes stonily silent, refusing to answer any questions. He hides a longing, regret, and hatred underneath his outer grumpiness, readoning that no one rlse needs to know. After being in war, he often dreams of the past, awakening sweating and mentally in the past before he comes to reality. He snaps at others easily at times, and never visits what family he has left due to the guilt. Ashur doesn't much like fighting, and would prefer not to engage - though when pushed, he will.

History: Once an ordinary dragon in a great draconic city, Ashur lived a rather average life. However, the leaders of his tribe, after a falling out with the other tribe - the Aurora Dragons - went to war, forcibly recruiting every dragon fit for war.

Ashur found himself marched to a miliary camp, and given speedy training, before being sent into the battlefield. War is not glorious, it is a long, nightmarish, and bloody slog. Ashur found that out before long as he fought to live. To live, and perhaps for his nation to live. He watched the friends he made die. He killed. He watched bombs go off and disfigure dragons or wound them so badly death was a mercy. He watched both Tenebris and Aurora towns caught in the crossgure and the civilians left within be destroyed and slaughrtered, participating in the ends of Aurora towns. He watched the other side struggle. He watched his mate fie in front of him, and he could do nothing. Cities were bombed, magival bombs slowly and painfully killing the dragons inside.

And when he made it out after the leaders called peace, he was a changed dragon. He found his old home badly damaged, much of his family gone. Ashur felt he could have stopped it. He should have.

His last remaining child, a daughter, never went near him again. She couldn't bear to look at him, and he couldn't stand being with her after the bloodshed. He left the destroyed city, going to another one and finding a job there as the librarian in a school. So the dark Tenebris attempted to live out a peaceful life, renouncing his power, far from his daughter whom he missed and yet feared meeting and her children who knew of him merely through what their mother was willing to tell them.

But the gods had other plans when they freed themselves...

Abilities/Weapons: Darkness magic, though he refuses to use it. He knows a fair amount of combative and defensive spells, though he did also learn some more mundane uses for it.

He also has his claws, teeth, and tail, which he prefers to use in a fight.

History: Long ago, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem were all one dragon, the dragon Pokémon of two brothers. Eventually, the two brothers grew apart, pursuing Truth and Ideals. Name: Kyle Ossler

Gender: Male

Universe: Fandomless

Species: Human

Alignment: Neutral

Appearance: Kyle stands at about 5'7", with an olive skin tone and nearly black hair that reaches just past the top of his ear. His bangs are swept to the side. He has a narrow face and a soft jawline. His eyes are so dark they're almost black, and his eyebrows are of an average thickness. His arms are slightly toned due to three years in marching band, playing with a heavy baritone.

Personality: Kyle likes to be social, talk about band and the dank memes. He enjoys joking around and chilling out with his friends, especially his squad in marching band. He's rather passionate about what he likes, and once he starts talking about a subject he's into, there's little chance in stopping him. He's a nerd and likes video games, and he's relatively sharp-minded. Kyle is a fun-spirited chap and rather easygoing and chill most of the time. Occasionally he can be a bit paranoid and sporadic, easily scared and rather cowardly. Looking at him, he's far from the heroic type. If something's not right, he'll be the first to point it out, but unlikely will he do anything about it. One thing anyone will notice right away is how musically attuned he is. He would rather just relax and jam out on an instrument than do much else.

History: Kyle lived his life in a large suburban town in central New Jersey. His father was often busy at work, so most times it would just be him, his mother and his brother. He always had an interest in music, especially '50s music and rather unknown guitar players. In fourth grade he started playing the trombone. Kyle loved to watch the marching band preform, especially. He would beg his mom to go to the football games just to see the marching band perform at the halftime show, and worked super hard to sound the best that he could on his own trombone, practicing whenever he could. He was able to join in eighth grade and so he did, and had a lit time with his squad, even after the season ended.

Username: Esko_the_Wolf

Character Name: Gamma

Universe: Dusky's Universe (idk)

Gender/Pronouns: Male

Species: Tenebris Dragon

Appearance: [X]

Personality: Gamma prefers to stir up trouble rather than actually do what he's supposed to. He's smart, but he tends to use his sharp mind to manipulate others into doing his work and tricking others into doing things they normally wouldn't do. He loves to adventure and enjoys swimming in forest lakes and the great river that runs through the countryside. He's goofy, and sometimes he can be a sweet guy. He's stubborn and tends to argue a bit easily, especially with his fellow boys. He's often fascinated by gross things, such as dead cats or insects.

History: To be frank, Gamma's history was...not very great, in the grand scheme of things. It didn't compare to being a war hero or having super special powers and saving the world, but in the tiny rural village he lived in, what he got was enough. After his mother ran away from her father, because of reasons that have not yet been revealed, she ran to the small town of Burrow, located in the beautiful countryside. There, she married a fisher and gave him a total of six children before she was tired of making eggs. Gamma came along somewhere in the middle, and as soon as he began developing ideas, he was trouble. He constantly annoyed adults and set a poor example for his peers, inspiring them to cause trouble. Despite punishments, it never stopped Gamma from stirring up the town.

Abilities/Weapons: He has claws, teeth, and fire.

Character Name: Jessica Velcheck

Universe: Original

Gender/Pronouns: Female

Species: Human

Appearance: Jess [ft. Kyle]

Jessica is about 5'9", with dark brown hair and green-hazel eyes.

Personality: Jess is the kind of person who wants to be likeable, but can't help but sometimes be a prick. She has a degree of social anxiety that slowly gets better over time, but she tends to run from social situations rather than face them. She's artsy and wants to better herself, but isn't motivated to do much other than browse the web and make half-drawn sketches that pile up and make a mess. She's rather lazy, and comes with the typical teenage angst and argumentativeness. She has a bad habit of procrastinating and not learning from this particular mistake. Jess has a habit of being insensitive and apathetic, not being considerate to other people's problems. However, this doesn't mean she doesn't care at all. She can be selfish and think more of her own crisis than other's -probably more important- situations. Jess is very bright, but...she doesn't always think things through.

History: Jess was first raised in Piscataway, New Jersey, a moderate-sized town. Her father did own a house for a while, but it was falling apart beneath their feet. Her mother was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis before she was born, and as she got older, the condition got worse. Soon, there was no choice but to place the woman in a nursing home and move to Jess's grandparent's house, still in Piscataway but close to a shady area in a bordering town. For several years they lived there, her father dealing with bankruptcy and her and her sister dealing with their grandmother's heavy cooking. Jess started out as a cocky jerk, believing she was all that and that her artistry was amazing. She never understood why she wasn't in "honors" band, despite never practicing her trombone. It wasn't until sixth grade hit that she entered her angsty phase, and finally realized how shotty of a person she was. She shelled herself away from social interaction.

Then her father met a new woman and fell madly in love. After a couple years of dating, they decided they wanted to move in together, and after research, their destination was East Brunswick. This news was devastating for Jess, but mostly because she didn't want to be separated from the school iPad. She tried convincing herself that she had reasons to miss Piscataway, but once the move actually happened, she didn't miss her old town at all.

East Brunswick was a bit of a scary place at first. The middle school was ridiculously large, compared to the school she had spent her 6th grade year in. She was intimidated, to say the least. What surprised her, however, was when Kyle Ossler began to say "hi" to her in the hallways. Being the antisocial prick she was, she ignored him at first. However, one day she suddenly felt the compulsion to say "hi" back. She didn't know what hit her that particular time, but whatever happened, she and Kyle became friends after that. He managed to crack her out of her shell, and she even made a few more friends along the way. Marching band happened, and she made even more friends; one of her online friends told her she would make friends as soon as she entered clubs and such. What a way to prove someone right.

Abilities/Weapons: Teenage talk-backing, her camera, and sometimes she uses her brains to come up with a useful idea.

Username: Esko_the_Wolf

Character Name: Obsidian

Universe: Steven Universe

Gender/Pronouns: Female

Species: Gem

Appearance: [X]

Personality: Obsidian is easygoing and a laid back individual, preferring to live her life on the fun side. She's always had a bit of a wanderlust, and she constantly explores the reaches of space to satisfy it. She enjoys meeting new people and flirting with any kind of sentient, humanoid creature that she comes across. Obsi loves, loves to have fun, whether innocent or suggestive, and she's willing to break the rules to get that thrill. Unfortunately, she tends to make a joke out of everything, even when it's far from appropriate. One thing sticks out about her, and that is her confidence. She moves and talks with said confidence, and it's not uncommon for her to become dangerously cocky. Obsidian often acts on impulse and doesn't think things through, often getting herself or others hurt as a result. While certainly brash, she is not only confident in her abilities but those of others, and this leads her to being extremely supportive and stubbornly so.

History: Obsidian was not made on Earth, but a moon in a system located near Homeworld. Made for White Diamond, she did not spend much time on Homeworld. She was declared to be severely defected compared to other Obsidians. She was perfectly fine with this, and just before the outbreak of the Gem War, she hijacked a ship and flew off the planet.

From the start, Obsi explored the galaxy, stopping at various taverns and meeting a diverse bunch of people. She made a business out of giving them rides to various destinations, and eventually smuggling became a part of her income as well. She met very few Gems on her adventures, and the handful that she did were generally trying to escape Homeworld's caste system, or even the Gem War erupting on Earth. Obsi watched the galaxy evolve and flourish over her millennia of living, and life never got boring for her; there was always something to do that was new.

Abilities/Weapons:

-She is able to summon a scythe from the gem on her neck.

-She's able to glide through the air, but not actually fly.

-Obsi can shapeshift.

-She can conjure a black fire and manipulate it to her will.

Username: Silverphoenixx

Character Name: Tetra

Universe: Original

Gender/Pronouns: She/her

Species: Cyborg

Appearance: Tetra usually wears a clean white suit that obscures her features and has glowing cyan circuits running throughout it. This suit extends to her head and makes her face undiscernable to the average passerby, although a cyan visor allows her to see outside. On the sides of the visor are two rotating diamond shaped pieces of tech, almost resembling pointed ears. Similar pieces of tech are attached to her arms and legs, where they may extend for close combat purposes and are thus quite a bit larger. All of these pieces of tech may detach and serve as combat drones, relaying information to Tetra and assisting her abilities.

Though she rarely removes her suit, if it is somehow damaged, one will see she has a rather lithe figure accented by sleek white tech. Her eyes are bright cyan and slightly mechanical in appearance, though this is limited to a few thin white circuit lines running faintly through them. She retains a mostly humanoid appearance under her suit, and the majority of her cyborg tech looks like clothing. The few parts of skin that are visible are a pale color, though this is mostly from lack of exposure to sunlight. She has surprisingly well-kept straight, knee length chestnut hair under her helmet, but she prefers to keep it up while in her suit to prevent it from interfering with her mobility.

Personality: After an incident during her cyborg transformation, Tetra lost most of her memory and personality, although she appears to be slowly recovering. She doesn't express much outward emotion, but she's more attached to Penta than she looks. Occasionally, she can be a bit blunt and literal, perhaps embodying a loyal robot a bit too closely. Penta usually checks her though, serving as her guide and bodyguard of sorts

History: Tetra was scouted from a random pool of people and "chosen" to be the first (and best) military cyborg of what could potentially be a military superpower. She was ultimately determined to be the best female candidate, and Penta the best male candidate. The details of the trials she was put through are unclear to her due to some comlplications in the cyborg transformation progress, but she has since developed an unquestionable loyalty to the military superpower.

Abilities/Weapons: Being a cyborg has offered her resistance to damage, although she will lose power quickly if she is damaged enough. It is difficult to kill her unless one manages to get past her defenses and injure her brain, as that is the only unrepairable part of her body. If she spends too much time without a source of power and no sunlight to recharge, she will shut down and enter a self-repairing defensive stasis. Her cyborg tech is resistant to most elements, even electricity, as excess electricity will simply be converted to power. However, extreme situations are still able to overwhelm her and potentially cause her to shut down or die.

Aside from the benefits of being a cyborg, Tetra also has combat capabilities built into her tech. The detachable weapons on her suit act as combat drones and communicate directly with Tetra, offering her surveillance and enhancing her abilities. Tetra has direct control over her drones and can direct them with extreme precision. Her drones have a built in system that allows them to levitate and support great weight, offering Tetra even more mobility and precision. If needed, she can also recall her drones to repair them. The sharp edges of the drones allow them to slice through all but the hardest materials, and are some of the only things that can cut through Tetra's cyborg machinery.

That being said, the main purpose of Tetra's combat drones is to assist her construction ability. Using her drones, she is able to "trace" an outline an rapidly construct objects, although this costs a great deal more power than her other abilities. The drones must also collect and store existing material in order to construct objects, except in extreme situations where they will utilize power directly from Tetra. The cost of such a situation is usually enough to cause Tetra to shut down.

Aside from construction, her drones can also fire various beams and harvest solar energy for Tetra. They can also set down a special field that reduces the energy cost of Tetra and Penta's abilities, though they will be unable to do anything else while setting a field. The drones themselves do not have a power source and instead rely directly on Tetra, which means they will fail to function if Tetra runs out of power.

Username: Silverphoenixx

Character Name: Penta

Universe: Original

Gender/Pronouns: He/him

Species: Cyborg

Appearance: Penta wears a white suit like Tetra, except with blue tones instead of Tetra's bright cyan. He stands slightly taller than Tetra but shares her thin frame, looking more graceful than strong. Don't let this fool you, however, as his tech enhances his strength and his speed to unparalleled heights. Under his suit, he has olive skin and loosely curled brown hair that brushes his shoulders. His eyes are a glowing blue, lined with slightly more white circuits than Tetra.

Like Tetra, he has a visor and two detachable drones. However, unlike her, he carries two bladed rings with pentagonal centers on his arms. These rings can be shot or held to serve as weapons, and are just as sharp as Tetra's drones. They can also be merged into a single large ring, however they cannot serve as repair drones. He has drones similar to Tetra on his feet, but with pentagonal shapes instead of diamond shapes. These can also be merged into a skateboard and have the same levitating abilities as Tetra's drones.

Personality: Penta is quite a bit more affable than Tetra, though he is by no means a bleeding heart. However he seems a great deal more... human, one could say. Whether or not this is true is hard to say, but Penta has a certain natural ease around people that Tetra lacks. For one, he, unlike Tetra, has a sense of humor and a quick wit, though he is careful to check it around more hostile types. Still, one can detect a hint of mischievousness under his usual responsible exterior, despite his constant guarding of Tetra. He seems surprisingly willing to go along with her and explain things, even given his circumstances... Perhaps there's something more going on?

History: Penta had much of the same history as Tetra, only he began his actual cyborg training a bit later, in part due to the delays from Tetra's transformation process. Though he was also meant to be a war machine of sorts, he ended up becoming more of a bodyguard for Tetra after complications. The two were always meant to operate as a duo and were only held back by a error in Tetra's transformation process. Penta seems much more informed about things than Tetra, but he's surprisingly tight lipped about Tetra and his history.

Abilities/Weapons: Penta has cybernetic abilities, with greater strength at the cost of speed. His rings work in conjunction with his unique ability of magnetic manipulation, allowing him to use them like boomerangs and move metal objects. Of course, this ability has a limited range and cannot move extremely heavy objects, but it doesn't cost as much energy as Tetra's construction ability. He is also able to set down a field with his non-ring drones and receives communication from them.

Character Name:Aerith Gainsborogh

Universe: Gaia ((Final Fantasy VII))

Gender/Pronouns: Female

Species: Half human, half Cetra

Appearance: Volia

Personality: Extroverted, cheerful, flirtatous, and savvy, Aerith is a blithe spirit who is nevertheless fully able to take care of herself. She can be extremely stubborn and willful, but also kind and compassionate-if occasionally tactless. She's very down-to-earth but can be incredibly naive about things she doesn't know. She isn't that well-read, but makes up for it by knowing people and generally being empathetic and just plain nice with them. Has an affinity for healing spells.

Really good with plants and gardening. She can get really protective about her plants, too.

History: Here.

She got here when she was going to the Forgotten City. As she was traveling, the Aeon of reality attacked.

Abilities/Weapons: The legendary White Materia, along with Restore-All, Barrier, Earth(up to 2), Fire(up to 2), Enemy Skill, Bahamut, Osmose-All, and Luck Plus materias. For weapons, she has her staff Princess Guard.

As a Cetra, she can hear the voice of nature, the wind, the water, or even nature itself talking to her.

Other: She doesn't use White Materia.

Character Name:Isadora

Universe: Dee Ehhfff Ohhh (Great Metastasis dimension)

Gender/Pronouns: Female

Species: Human. Probably. Mostly. I think.

Appearance: Link.

Personality: She tries to be respectful to everyone she meets, though she definitely strains to do so when people aren't extending the courtesy to her. She does tend to snark, but she usually doesn't mean ill and is perfectly willing to take a jibe or two thrown her way. In fact, she rather enjoys it.

When things get to a head, however, she becomes much more serious and her calculating side shows much more. She also cares a lot for her personal freedom, mostly evident by how she seeks forbidden knowledge, but she's too kind to even dream about using them on her worst enemy.

She's a very proud person, but she usually only shows this when she's talking about something she knows very well. There are several ways you can get under her skin, but she prefers to keep a tight hold on her emotions. She does have berserk buttons, though, so be warned.

History: She got exiled at one point in her past, and not long after she was allowed to return she was forced into serving an eldritch abomination who forced her to kill off her own parents to get her to stop fighting his control. Eventually, she becoming his right-hand woman and was defeated when trying to execute said abomination's extengency plan. After that, she was surprised to still be given a job as a librarian of where she lived, a role which she took quickly to. Now she's the head librarian of the Order, with access to artifacts and books that many other people only dream of having. Once someone tried to kill her for this, but it didn't work out. When the eldritch abomination surfaced again, she was determined to help end him and drove herself exausted (and eventaully nearly maimed) for her efforts. She was just reading in her office when the aeon attacked.

Abilities/Weapons:Spell-wise, many of her combat abilities are trap-like delibriating Area of Effect spells, but she's also got a cluster of much more damaging, if slower, spells. She can manipulate water to a degree, forming tentacles to grab and throw objects. She is a summoner, able to call elemental spirits and a very powerful creature to fight at her side. From an old tendency to use too much mana when casting spells in her youth, she adapted it into forming elemental "runes" which she can then use to augment her spells.

Knowing what she does, she can also brew a variety of dangerous substances or not so dangerous substances. Her weapon is a rod with a purple-horned skull at the top. He insults her a lot, so she usually doesn't keep him on her.

She doesn't like using it, but she's also terrifyingly good with mental magic, especially of the sort used to control or persuade others.

Other: She's technically a dark mage. When she gets mad or simply if she needs or wants to, her eyes can turn green and slitted

Character Name: Shadow

Universe: Original

Gender/Pronouns: Female

Species: Soul Hunter; these creatures can shapeshift, but I'm going to lock her into her Reaper form, which she obtains near the latter half of her life and uses quite often because she loves the stereotype.

Appearance: [Reaper form only (WIP snapshot of the previous image to lessen obscurity)] Shadow is a humanoid that stands about 7 feet tall and wears black, triangular armor; for simplicity, think of the Nazgul leader from Lord of the Rings for the shapes. She has a dark, floor-length cloak and typically wears the hood up; her armor affects the way it drapes, as the helm has five horns (two on either side, plus two smaller ones on the back of the jaw and one longest middle one) and her shoulder come up to points. She additionally has short spikes on her elbows and knees that she uses as last-resort melee weapons, along with her claws. Where her wings join her body there are three spikes layered over each other, each growing progressively smaller, to protect the fabric openings. Shadow's face is black and indistinguishable regardless if the hood is up or down, but she can choose to manifest a white mouth and eyes if she chooses to (she typically doesn't, since it interferes with her ability to see).

When Shadow has even a minimal amount of power, glowing blue skeletal limbs, called Ethereal Limbs, will manifest on her back and under her cloak. These limbs can't feel pain, but are only damaged - and can only interact with - things in the spiritual/astral plane. Aside from giving Shadow an edge in battle and the wings giving her flight, these limbs are really more of a nuisance because they're bright neon signs declaring where she is. Thankfully, she can summon and dismiss them at will; unthankfully, they're prone to damage and due not not having any nerves, if they're damaged she doesn't know it until she tries to use them and fails.

Finally, an elliptical, cyan gem rests in the center of Shadow's collarbone, mimicking a mere cloak clasp. The gem also glows blue, and unfortunately she can't keep it from glowing. The gem's main purpose is to allow Shadow to switch from her Cloaked Reaper form to its True form; due to her True form being OP beyond belief, I'm locking that ability too until you say it's okay.

Personality: Lawful Evil. Shadow's long life (and afterlife) has changed her quite a bit; especially since gathering forms as a Soul Hunter minimally changes her personality to conform to each one. Once an abrasive, anti-social grudge-holder who hated anything that took up her time, she has been repeatedly humbled and praised; she's no wise old owl, though. She has retained her cockiness and recklessness - typically concerning her knowledge and experiences compared to others - and has a huge amount of confidence in her abilities and combat skills. However, she's smarter than to be loud about it; she has learned to hold her tongue and observe everything until either provoked or when she has obtained enough information to act. Her past experiences cause her to look bitterly upon authority as a thorn in her side, give only disdain to people who seem to seek too much from her, and funnily enough, respond more positively to "monsters" than "people" (let's face it, skeletons are way more interesting than ponies). She has a soft spot for people who try - even vainly - to be decent, and has no remorse for hurting people she despises; unfortunately for others, she has very strict standards and tends to lash out when too many lines are crossed. She has also grown quite comfortable with her position of power and isn't afraid to let offensive insults and bluntness slip out, despite what might happen if she does; embodied by her philosophy: " Don't think about what might happen if you do. Think about what you'll do when it happens."

Side Note: She really likes cats, bats, and endearing little ghosts. Barbies are terrifying.

History: Shadow's history is literally books' worth, so I'll just give you the distilled rundown:

Soul Hunters are nonmortal beings that occupy a dream plane called the Abyss. At some point or another Shadow ended up in a human form on Earth, retaining only some of her previous knowledge (she doesn't find out why until much, much later). Some shenanigans happen that gain her some friends, a reputation, plenty of enemies on other worlds, and a few new forms, as well as allowing her to remember that she's a Soul Hunter and not actually a human. At one point along the way she dies and end up making a deal with her Realm's (basically her religion's) hell lord to resurrect her, creating an awkward slave-not-slave relationship that was mutually dissolved later on for other, unrelated reasons; this temporary "contract" allowed Shadow to learn quite a bit about the Underworld, so she's more knowledgable in it than any other plane or state. After some time passes and a few more shenanigans happen, a major event happens that converts Shadow into a being of pure energy (basically kills her again) and slaps her into a highly-reputable, highly-responsible role as her Realm's Arch Angel of Death; as cool as the title is, she's basically just soul management. Her new role gave Shadow the opportunity to explore plenty of other universes, typically via the heavens/hells of the religions that influenced places in said universes. At one point there was a multiverse problem where a bunch of religions began fighting each other, but the war has since been solved with the help of more shenanigans! (and sheer ignorance on the one antagonist's part), so now everything's okay again.

Since Shadow would literally try to kill an Aeon if it provoked her while she had a sense of security (and we're trying to avoid killing them), I won't have her start out in her universe when the Aeon of Reality starts ripping things apart. Oh yeah, another thing I should mention: her multiverse experiences have educated her quite a bit about the workings of Nexuses, portals, and the mechanics of some other universes, so she'll be a bit presumptuous at first.

Abilities/Weapons: I have a sheet from another RP for this...

Shadow has lots of abilities, but - like her ability to shapeshift - I'm locking a lot of them by starting her off with low soul power. Soul power is basically her "mana"; she can "eat" souls by stripping away their energy for herself, and this energy powers her abilities (she doesn't need to live off of them, fortunately). Eating a soul does kill a mortal being, but cannot destroy ghosts/spirits/phantoms/spectres/what have you; it just makes them very weak for a while while they work their energy back up.

Other: I'm not done yet! xd.png I put Shadow in another multiverse RP at one point, and a lot of questions about souls came up in it that I'll get out of the way ahead of time here:

-Shadow sees all souls according to her own universe's laws; canons with established laws about souls can interfere with her ability to see them.

-She can take a soul whenever, regardless if it's attached to a mortal body or not, but she prefers to slay the target first before taking the soul.

-If Shadow inhales a soul, it's trapped inside her until she exhales it. If she consumes a soul, she gleans its energy before exhaling the soul back out, freeing it. So in a way she doesn't actually eat the soul since the "person" still exists.

-People that have their souls expire upon death, are immortal, or do not have souls are safe from her.

-If a soul is shared between more than one physical entity, Shadow has to defeat every entity attached to it before eating it, or else use up a lot of power to rip it out of each entity at once (more often than not, too much effort).

-In Shadow's universe, the power of the soul reflects the power of its owner, so she is more likely to absorb souls that have come from powerful beings. In canons where this doesn't exist she has no favoritism.

-Shadow can resurrect people by giving their souls back to their physical bodies and casting the Reanimate spell. However, a soul can only return to a body if it wants to, so she can't randomly switch peoples' souls around.

Username: skwerl56767

Character Name: He can't remember

Universe: Original; alternate Earth dimension

Gender/Pronouns: He was programmed to have a male personality, but can easily be reset to have a different one.

Species: LazerHound V2.05G; he's a robot dog with rocket launchers on his back!!

Appearance: Image. His withers come up to 4 feet; so he's about the size of a large dog.

Personality: LazerHounds are capable of intelligent discussion, but are notorious for being biased toward their Packs, and especially their Masters. This Lazerhound established a gruff, factual attitude to compliment his Master's more cautious one. He has a dry sense of humor, and each word is used deliberately; he's easily confused when people take his words as a joke when it didn't intend it that way. Unfortunately, due to his damages, some parts of his personality went missing and exposed a reset button that could fully wipe his old personality and memories in a heartbeat.

History: LazerHounds were developed by the people in order to combat a mass onslaught of alien forces trying to assimilate their world. They were created from scratch in one of the sanctuary cities of the time, which were created by the freedom fighters. Because animals were becoming more and more scarce with the influx of the aliens' own lifeforms, these guardian machines were made to resemble and mimic dogs; as a result, they were heavily used as guard dogs, bonding with one Master and calling those it protected its Pack. LazerHounds were never used on the battlefield due to their focused loyalties becoming a problem in full-blown battles; however, those traveling outside the sanctuaries would always take one with in case of an unpleasant encounter.

This particular LazerHound was bonded to a scavenger, and they were wandering a fallen sanctuary city from several hundred years ago. They were searching the city for resources when they were ambushed by a pack of Pouncer Drones. The resulting fight removed several plates from his body, exposing some electronics and damaging half of his personal hard drive; he forgot a lot of things, including his Master's name. The Aetherial's rip dumped him out of reality afterwards.

Abilities/Weapons:

-Hooked claws on the feet, the sharp, stiff tail, and the teeth are used in melee combat. The teeth and tail are dull from use over time, though the tail can be easily resharpened with a strong enough stone.

-A photon laser is set in the forehead; hence the name, "LazerHound". The laser is strong but precise, and cannot be "pulsed" (it's either on or off). It has a slow, self-recharge.

-Three short barrels sit poised on either side of the LazerHound's back, each one armed with a rocket. The rockets are spliced with the alien technology of the world, but work the same as a conventional rocket launcher. They are less accurate, but can be guided using tracking technology integrated into the LazerHound's eyes; if he loses sight of them, they proceed in a straight line until they hit something or until he finds them again.

Other: Anyone is free to befriend him and give him a new identity; I enjoy those parts of character development! biggrin.gif

Username: skwerl56767

Character Name: None; can be taught a new identity through mimicry.

Universe: Original; same as the LazerHound

Gender/Pronouns: None; "it"

Species: Pouncer Drone

Appearance: Image. Its withers are just under 3 feet tall; large enough to knock over a person, but smaller than the LazerHound. The colors are grey with black and bright yellow-orange accents. The eyes are orange and the blades fade to white at the tips.

Personality: Pouncer Drones have no established personalities; they're just machines obeying commands. However, they are meant to work with other drones as a complete unit for successful ambushes; as a result, one individudal drone will end up taking to the mimicking of another drone, which may mimic another drone, who mimics another... so on and so forth. Pouncer Drones can't speak, but can communicate to other drones using a form of Morse Code via whistling.

History: Pouncer Drones were initially made by the freedom fighters using scraps of alien technology, built specifically to ambush the lifeforms their invaders used against them. However, the alien forces grew wise to the tactic and developed a virus to re-align the loyalties of Pouncer Drones; because the drones were controlled remotely using computers in the sanctuary cities, all it took was the virus to enter one computer, and it would be broadcasted to each drone it controlled. There was a mass panic as the drones turned on their creators, but the freedom fighters quickly countered with their own virus, which removed the necessity of remote control for the drones, effectively turning them into droids instead. When that didn't work to solve the problem, they decided to quickly sever the computers from the drones' controls, leading to the machines scattering, now completely rogue. Since then recovery parties have been formed to try and recollect as many of the drones as possible, though some still run about freely, and still others remain under the control of the invaders. This particular Pouncer Drone was under said control when it and several other drones ambushed a scavenger and its LazerHound; it was struggling with the protective machine when the Aetherial's rip opened up.

Abilities/Weapons:

-Pouncer Drones have a unique ability to cast a hologram around them to mimic an object slightly larger than their size; or in some cases, appear to be missing in general! This is simply illusionary though; objects "seen" don't even cast shadows or create a physical barrier that can be touched or interacted with using other forces.

-Pouncer Drones have multiple blades all along their bodies; however, they tend to be used defensively. Instead they prefer to attack with their claws and beaks.

-The beak of a Pouncer Drone is hollow, with a metal rod concealed inside that holds an electrical charge. This rod is used to deal the final blow to a target when it comes in contact with it.

-Thick rubber "tendons" are attached to the backs of the legs; when coiled up and released, it gives the Drone massive jumping power, able to soar up to five times its own height! The bulky chest of the drone allows it to fall faster and heavier, the impact force intended to cause the target to fall over.

Other: Same as the Other section for the LazerHound.

Character Name: Milla Maxwell

Universe: Tales of Xilla 1

Gender/Pronouns: Female (she/her; they/them also acceptable)

Species: Human...?

Appearance: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/deathb...=20160620005204

An attractive and delicate-looking human woman, Milla is said to be the Great Spirit Maxwell taken physical form. Her most distinctive feature is her long (literally) wind-styled hair with bleached tips and a single stray green lock. Her clothing is not very protective but it is at least easy to move in, consisting of a crop top, a short skirt and many black and pink ribbons, but the fire spirit Efreet keeps her warm. She has black and pink patterned gloves long enough to nearly reach her shoulders paired with white wrist guards. Her boots, white and pink, reach past her knees and are usually miraculously clean, as if she never really walks.

Personality: Milla has a strong sense of duty and a steadfast view of what she thinks is right or wrong -- and if it's for the greater good, she wouldn't mind ending lives or even sacrificing her own. In that way, she appears cold and stubborn, and unwilling to make friends. All that Milla knows about humans is either from books or from her worshipers at Nia Khera so there is a lot she either doesn't know or misunderstands, but she's not afraid to ask questions to fill the gaps in her knowledge. With no experience with idioms, she takes everything literally.

History: For twenty years, ever since she was a human baby, Milla had been raised in the care of the Four Great Spirits in the boundary between the spirit would and the human world. Eventually she learned about the world outside her shrine and how some human technologies, named Spyrixes, were killing the lesser spirits of the world. And so she set out on a journey to destroy them all.

Abilities/Weapons: Milla's power comes from the https://i.imgur.com/UA3OLyH.jpg she can summon: Efreet, Undine, Gnome, and Sylph. With the power of the elements her body doesn't need as much nourishment or rest, but with the weaker mana of this new world the spirits cannot sustain her like they used to. She can also summon them for elemental attacks in battle, and they guide her blade so every strike rings true. She is best in midair combat, juggling opponents in the air where they're helpless to retaliate. However, even without her spirits she is a formidable opponent able to cast spells near instantaneously (with an ability called Spirit Shift).

Other: She is a quick learner.

Another ability of hers (an extension to a game mechanic) is to form a sort of telepathic link with an ally which allows her to know where they are on the battlefield, and thus co-ordinate combination attacks.

Character Name: Griffin "Grip" Remington

Universe: Soul Eater [OC]

Gender/Pronouns: Male (he/him)

Species: Weapon

Appearance: Grip's golden hair is kept shorter at the top and front and forms a mess of gravity-defying spikes, while he keeps the rest of it long enough to cover his neck in a pseudo mullet. His face is narrow and his limbs are lanky, and when he smiles he reveals two rows of sharp teeth which he is always proud to show off. His narrow eyes and strong brow always make him look like he's sly and up to no good, but it is rare that his intentions turn out bad.

He wears a long white jacket with grey trim and an exaggerated collar, over a black undershirt and denim jeans. He loves his jacket and added the embroidered rose patterns himself in silver, with a little help. A few shiny pins decorate his lapels, and he has a few rings on his fingers and a small chain around his neck. He stands up straight and confident no matter who he is addressing.

Personality: Outgoing, impulsive and a bit of a loose cannon, it's hard to stop Grip once he starts something. A stark contrast to his traditionalist family, Grip isn't afraid to try to break all the rules just to push their limits, but never to the point where anyone gets hurt. He is impulsive, but also deeply caring for not just his friends, but all the people around him.

On the other hand, he's not very strong in beliefs, and can easily be swayed to do things he might regret later.

History: Grip comes from a lineage of classical medieval blades, although he is a little bit of an oddity with his weapon form being a scythe with a somewhat modern look, leading to questions about the purity of his bloodline. His elder brother is a longsword, and they attended Death Weapon Meister Academy together. Even though they were a year apart and had different Meisters wielding them, they still had a very strong bond and rarely relied on anyone but each other or their partners.

Abilities/Weapons: His main ability is to transform into Weapon form, in which he is nearly invulnerable. Grip's weapon form is an simple but elegant iron scythe with yellow spikes and fine chain wrapping lightly along the shaft. The chain can whip around, reflecting his mood like a tail. The bottom end of the scythe features another smaller blade. He can speak in this form.

In addition, Grip is a fine swordsman, having trained numerous times with his brother in hand.

Other: His soul is am icy blue in color. He is good at mending clothing, and hates to see people waste things like food or throw away easily repaired objects.

He is able to consume souls, devouring them completely to power himself up, although he restricts his palette to the souls of corrupted humans.

Character Name: Cheria Barnes

Universe: Tales of Graces

Gender/Pronouns: Female (she/her)

Species: Human

Appearance: A girl who looks around 19. Her dark pink curls are partly tied up in a pair of pigtails, and her clothing, adorned with many ribbons, looks rather fancy even though she frequently finds herself on the battlefield.

http://tales-of-pikohan.de/main/wp-content...profil_full.png

Personality: Selfless, gentle, but stubbornly independent, Cheria hates being told to stay behind. For the sake of morale, she tries to look on the bright side of things while keeping her disappointment to herself. She tries to heal as many injured as she can, or at least ease the passing of those who she cannot. Sometimes it causes her to run into danger; aware of the risks, she charges in fearlessly. It is easy for her to get flustered.

History: Cheria used to be a sick child. She didn't go outside very often, and could never keep up with the other kids in town. During a doctor's visit in the city of Barona, she was dragged along with her friend Asbel (and his party) to visit another friend of his by taking a shortcut behind the royal palace -- except it went catastrophically wrong. She doesn't remember much, except for a large shadow monster attacking the group. Since then, her health had miraculously improved and she began gaining healing abilities. For the next seven years, she honed her skills and became a field nurse in her home town of Lhant.

Abilities/Weapons: Cheria's main role is healing, but she also hides a few other magic tricks up her sleeves. Defensively, her spells focus on buffing and healing effects over a large area, while offensively she uses a combination of throwing daggers and lightning spells. She isn't very fast or agile, but she makes up for it by being an invaluable support if her team protects her.

Other: Some of her abilities are particularly attuned to piercing certain types of magical barriers. She gets fussy like a mother at times.

Username: Nomadicdesert

Character Name: Moonstone (likes to go by Luna)

Universe: Steven Universe

Gender/Pronouns: Female

Species: Gem

Appearance: user posted image

Personality: Playful and fun, Luna likes to joke around a lot and enjoy life. She prefers to have friends over enemies and would rather talk things out then fight. That doesn't mean she isn't willing to fight however and will defend her friends even if it means being shattered. There are times when Luna's outgoing shell cracks though and she can be seen alone and quiet, looking up at the stars with longing, tears in the corners of her eyes.

History: Luna fought with the rebel gems on earth to protect it from home world and their plans to destroy all life in order to create new gems in its place. At the end of the rebellion when home world gems left Luna was captured and taken with them as a prisoner and hopefully as an informant so homeworld would have future intelligence in case they wanted to go back and start up the fight again. Luna only just managed to escape and after commandeering a shuttle she took off towards the nearest planet in the hopes of hiding until the search ended. Now she wanders the galaxy in the stolen shuttle believing that all of her fellow rebels are dead and that she has no place left to go. She is a fugitive from her own people and without a cause she feels lost and alone.

Abilities/Weapons: Can summon a bow at will from her gem and spontaneously create light arrows to shoot at her enemies. She has temporary shape changing powers and if she and another gen agree to it can fuse forms to make a more powerful form between the two of them.

Other: I cannot draw at all and as such the drawing that I used is not mine. If the owner comes forward and wants me to take it down I will gladly do so. I would like to be a better artist in the future but for the moment that picture will do just fine.

Character Name: Alfendi Layton

Universe: Professor Layton (Mystery Room)

Gender/Pronouns: He/Him

Species: human

Appearance: here, here

Personality:Alfendi is a bright, inquisitive young man with a knack for solving difficult mysteries. He's a bit of a recluse, however, and it's hard to drag him away from his work and get him to socialize. In fact, his interest in his job seems borderline obsessive. Here's the fun part about Alfendi: he has a personality disorder. Not exactly dissociative identity disorder, but close enough to cause some issues for him.

Most of the time, Al is generally placid and easygoing (referred to as Placid Prof). He's slow to anger, and generally laid back. However, if he gets too excited, this demeanor will be replaced by a brash, hostile man with a tendency to threaten violence(referred to as Potty Prof). This version of Al adores murders, especially the twisted ones. Although mean-spirited and generally sort of scary, the testier version of Alfendi is more bark than bite.

Al has a great deal of difficulty shuffling between personalities, and is reluctant to admit he has an issue.

History: Not much is known about Alfendi, other than the fact that he has his father's brilliance. An incident four years prior caused his personality to fragment, and the general subject of it makes him very anxious.

Abilities/Weapons: Alfendi is incredibly intelligent, almost uncannily so. He's a master at solving complicated problems and can usually figure out the story behind an incident before most everyone else.

Other: Placid speaks in purple, while Potty speaks in red. His "switches" between personalities are usually few and far between, but if too worked up, and switch back and forth rapidly.

Name: Dr. Stephen Strange

Gender: Male

Universe: The Marvel Universe

Species: Human

Alignment: Neutral Good

Appearance: [X]

Personality: While not nearly having as large of an ego as he used to -and certainly being more humble than he was- Strange retains a degree of cockiness when dealing with people or things. This, paired with his inquisitiveness and his willingness to break rules, allows him to be more willing to compromise and to be flexible with his own principles. He is relatively selfless, having apologized to his coworkers for his past treatment of them. Having sworn an oath as a doctor to save lives, Strange doesn't like the idea of killing others with his own hands. However, he has begrudgingly accepted the fact that sometimes, he will have to kill others. He has a photographic memory, a trait that allowed him to earn his MD and PhD at the same time.

Powers/Abilities:

-Strange can travel through different dimensions, one example being the Mirror Dimension.

- Strange is able to create, shape and manipulate Eldritch Magic. He demonstrated the ability to form Eldritch Whip, and Mandalas of Light.

-Strange can create fiery portals to teleport to different places using a device called a "Sling Ring". These are also used to travel inter-dimensionally and across different universes and planes of reality. Eternal Shadow knew of this, of course, and created a bubble around Valkemare to keep Strange from teleporting back home.

-Strange has the ability of transmutation, demonstrated when he turned Thor's cup of tea into a mug of beer due to the latter's comment about not favoring tea.

-Strange has the power of astral projection, allowing his spirit to enter the Astral Dimension.

-Using the Cloak of Levitation, Strange can fly and float. He is also able to use it to slow down a fall. The cloak seems to partially have a mind of its own...

History: Stephen Strange studied his way to the top, becoming a world-famous neurosurgeon. However, he was known for being arrogant and having a huge ego, despite being a brilliant doctor. His life was flung out a window when he got into an accident, severely damaging his hands- thus rendering him unable to continue his work as a surgeon. Devastated and broken, Strange searched desperately to find someone who could cure his hands and return him to his former life and glory. His search led him to Kamar-Taj, where he had a fateful meeting with the Ancient One. After she projected him through several dimensions, refused to help him, and let him in after he waited on her doorstep for four hours, he had begun training as a sorcerer. His original intent was to heal his hands, but over time -and after one or two encounters with the Zealots- he decided to defend the Earth instead. He had a natural affinity for the mystic arts, and despite his inexperience, he was raised to be Defender of the New York Sanctorum, one of the barriers that protected Earth from mystical threats. After the death of the Ancient One, he rose to become the Sorcerer Supreme.

xd.png! Oh goll, this RP is going to be a riot with all of these characters! I debated before but now I have to join. Give me a bit and I'll put together a character; if no one else posts by then I'll just edit this post.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I almost forgot to ask; with this be like your old multiverse RP, where everyone is transported into roughly the same location at the beginning? Or do we all start out in different areas?

@padfoot Accepted!

@skwerl

This time, we start in our universes for a bit (as long as you like, but try to keep it shorter - you can end up in the rip near-instant;y if you so like), before the rampaging Aetherial of Reality decides to show up, ripping holes in reality, and our characters end up going through the holes and into the same location.

Adding one more character before we start, then gonna update IC.

I plan to start this RP tomorrow, as a heads up. (I'm e)

Character Name: Ashur

Universe: Original

Gender/Pronouns: Male (he/him)

Species: Tenebris Dragon

Appearance: user posted image (average Tenebtis indivdual, though slightly larger than average - stands at 2.2M tall)

Ashur doesn't much like fighting, and would prefr not to engage - though ehen pudhed, he will.

History: Once an ordinary dragon in a great draconic city, Ashur lived a rather average life. However, the leaders of his tribe, after a falling out with the other tribe - the Aurora Dragons - went to war, forcibly recruiting every dragon fit for war.

Ashur found himself marched yo a miliary camp, and given speedy training, before being sent into the battlefield.

He also has his claws, teth, and tail, which orefers to use in a fight.

Username:beiningtian (Pyro)

When she gets mad or simply if she needs or wants to, her eyes can turn green and slitted.

I think I've groomed this sheet for plenty long; I need to jump in before I miss stuff! xd.png

Username: skwerl56767

-Shadow sees all souls according to her *own universe's laws; canons with established laws about souls can interfere with her ability to see them.

EDIT: Adding stuff for me to reference later (high maintenance character >>)

-DFO souls are brighter/warmer the nicer the person is.

-All souls in FFVII are light green.... probably....

*About her own universe's laws and her own soul colors (copied from chat):

-Hm... so souls in her universe are glowing translucent orbs with wispy tendrils, like what I linked in her Appearance section. Looking at the sheet, it would be red, pink, and orange for the most part, with brown undertones and hints of green and grey that show now and then... I think. The orbs are really animated, the colors are always swirling a lot, and when particular aspects of a personality come through more prominently, certain colors become prominent as well.

-Like for example, when she's feeling particularly superior, the soul would lose some of its red/pinkness and turn more brown, but when you threaten her allies when she's attached to them it turns more orange.

-Souls just feel like energy in her universe, but touching them can invoke parts of the person's personality to affect you (so you can end up really angry and vengeful if you touch a very red soul).

-The "invoking" is random though, so... more fun with dice to see which part affects you.

Character Name: Milla Maxwell

Universe: Tales of Xillia 1

Abilities/Weapons: Milla's power comes from The Four Great Spirits she can summon: Efreet, Undine, Gnome, and Sylph.

Appearance: (Doodle for reference)Grip's golden hair is kept shorter at the top and front and forms a mess of gravity-defying spikes, while he keeps the rest of it long enough to cover his neck in a pseudo mullet.

On the other hand he's not very strong in beliefs, and can easily be swayed to do things he might regret later.

Other: His soul is a light orange in color. He is good at mending clothing, and hates to see people waste things like food or throw away easily repaired objects.

He is able to consume souls, devouring them completely to power himself up, although he restricts his palette to the souls of corrupted humans.

Out of curiosity, would our characters even have a body if Reality is going around ripping... Reality up?

Link to post

For the RP's sake, yes we have bodies, but the fabric of multiversal reality is.... not very stable. Expect to deal with rips in reality a fair amount. Aaand some of them aren't staying where they are, others are closing and reopening erratically, and others are changing size.

There are some places, like our next destination, that, for some reason or another, are more stable. Most likely thst reason is another Aetherial's presence. Even in these more stable place, the fabric of reality isn't in good shape.

ETA: Also, in some of the places Reality has seen fit to directly 'bless' with its presence, reality - and character perceptions of it - are even less stable (and NPCs can lose their bodies and have only mental/ethereal presence, willing PCs can too by the RPer's permission). We start in the calm before the storm, pretty much.

For all you soul-related people, I'm going to ask that you refrain from reading Tetra and Penta's souls because of character spoilers. I'll admit that I'm not really sure how it can be IC to have their souls avoid being read with a character who's accustomed to reading all souls, but maybe their tech interferes with it? But it's very important that Penta especially does NOT get his soul read, or even seen at all, at least until the character history reveal happens. I didn't foresee the joining of people with soul-based powers. ;-;

On my end, Grip can't actually read souls since he's a Weapon, not a Meister. So I guess that solves that problem.

this seems fun. just wondering, would a character who can stop time for around 5 seconds be too much power? also will there be much downtime between fighting aetherials or will combat be almost always constant
