Dragons VS Humans, The Great war.

Recommended Posts

Kyl chuckled as he was pushed back and heard Kai's analogy. "Well isn't it said that the elephant is afraid of the mouse? If so then this is a piece of cake. Also, I really hope you aren't the strongest of the people here, otherwise I would be disappointed." Kyl stepped forward then moved in a whirlwind of action. First he sent a back hand punch at the man's face then a jab towards his gut and a front kick to the gut. All of it happened in a span of a second.

Shadow shrugged. "Well then that war isn't worth going to. So my question still stands. What do you do for fun? Jog in circles, sit around a fire? Through parties maybe?"

Aeolus heard the sound of Richard's whistle and knew what that meant. "Sounds like trouble! I better go see what it is," he said to himself. Then he took off and flew towards the sound of the whistle. Two more monsters that have been hiding out of Aeolus's sight, saw him fly and followed after him without being seen. When Aeolus got there, he blew out lightning at the two attacking monsters and they yelped in pain as they got off the mauled dragon. The wolf and lion monster ran towards Aeolus and jumped up at him with great prowess as opened their jaws to snap at him. The green dragon flapped his wings to create a strong gust of air to blow away the two monsters that hit the ground. He was about to cast wind beams at them when a white half-cobra monster jumped onto him and sink its venomous fangs onto Aeolus's tail. Then a blue nine-tailed monster shot blue beam at his back.

"The tent collasped? How did this happen? Do you think we'll be able to go out and meet them?" Minerva asked. After Jaden let go of Nell, the hybrid went over to Fayt's tail and tried to paw at it.

"He-hey!" he said tucking his own wings in and following after Meracle. Ayos spread his wings to slow his fall. The leaves ruslted as he landed on branch near Meracle. He had chosen a branch on reflex and later hopped down from it. "I can be comfortable on the ground...sort of." He said sitting next to Meracle. he looked about drinking in the sights and sounds. "Although I guess you would be less comfortable in the air huh." He stated turning back to Meracle.

"You don't want in on this." "let the lady decide for herself. Here Tack pass these up to Erin, she has her own job to do." Brian set down his load and handed Tack two of the sign posts and began explaining the job as tackeron passed them up to Erin. "Well we are going to be setting up these posts all about the city's major districts. Industrial, political, educational exetera. Erin is going to set up something like an outpost in her room. Altogether after a touch of magic has been applied we will have something of an observational network set up in this city. That way we can keep an eye out for mischivous people within the city...as well as get the best deals in town. originally I was going to use public transit since dear Tackeron was nowhere to be found but now that you two are here you can help us out and we could get this done inside of two maybe three hours. Then Erin and I can move on to to the forest between Gridania and Windfall." Erin tossed a small rock on a string out her window and Brian caught it deftly. "This still has charges on it?" Recharged it while you were out sixteen uses don't waste them." Brian nodded and held the stone up to Rina. "This would be the touch of magic I mentioned earlier." He said grinning for a moment the grin seemed dark.

"He's right! That's because Matt here is a mixed breed. He inherited his wings from one of his parents just like you got your coppery color from your father," Atlas explained. "Hi Matt!" the other three hatchlings greeted the mint dragon with cheerful smiles and waves. "Hello little dudes, nice to meet you," said Matt who waved back. Then looked up at Atlas and Malice and asked, "So what brings you guys here?" "Well Sapphire here said that she wanted to see Rudvich, so the first place I had in mind was the Southeast region. I'd figure it would the perfect opportunity to come over and visit since we haven't seen you since the Empiricon War," said Atlas. "Ah really? Sounds neat!" said Matt.

((Looking up to see the blue moon revealed I jump excitedly "Nick is back!"))

Chasilin looked at the door of the inn distrustfully, her single visible green eye glowing dangerously. A single shiver from Lunarissa gave her the reason to step forward, following Nick inside. Palmephius stayed close to Chasilin, also unable to feel at ease in this kind of strange place. Chasilin had grown up bearing a hatred for civilization, humans there were strange, they were almost more cruel and lazy, too. Grown fat for their comfort while she and her kind had grown thin for working hard each day to live. She and her people and others like her were also the reason the fat civilians were so lazy, they were the ones who harvested food and traded with them. She recalled once when her father had left with sacks of grain and vegetables and returned with weaponry and gifts, such as the ribbon her mother once wore.

Looking at the silky red fabric, wrapped around her Gungnir, her expression melted and her heart throbbed once, returning her to reality. Watching silently, standing defensively behind Nick at all times she let him handle what needed to be done, she didn't have any intentions of interacting with the ugly man watching them as they'd walked in.

Nick made his way over to the counter and started to talk to the innkeeper. After some quick bartering he rented a room and got two bowls of stew. When they were out of the innkeepers earshot he said "Not much of a looker is he?" He said laughing a bit, referring to the innkeepers less than stellar looks. Walking over to the nearest table he set the bowls of stew down down before taking a seat. "So what brings you to this part of the world, if you don't mind me asking," He said eating some stew before continuing. "seems like you're not used to civilization." Nick preferred the forest to civilization and was assuming the feeling was mutual.

Chasilin took her seat across from Nick, wearing a grimace to his comment on the man, clearly agreeing. Well, at least they hadn't tried to shoo Luna or Palmephius away at all so she was satisfied. Peering into the bowl Chasilin stuck a finger inside of it and brought to her lips to taste. She went a little wide-eyed. "I-it's good....!" She was speaking in a whisper out of her awe, she hadn't expected it to taste so good. Picking up the bowl with a hand on either side of it she began to swallow it down like broth. After a bit she set it down and gasped, wiping her mouth with the back of her wrist. There was still plenty left inside of it and she set the bowl down on the ground for Palmephius and Luna to have some. Palmephius tried it but didn't like it very much and returned to Chasilin's arm while Luna happily polished off the rest, happy for something warm.

Looking up to Nick she looked thoughtful, in a much better mood now since she'd eaten and warmed up because of it. "Hmm, well, I'm from Gwenyar and we came here because...uhm...." Chasilin frowned, looking somewhat comical. "Well, actually I don't know why. We were on a beach back home when suddenly I just had this feeling. This need to see what was beyond our island and what we could find. We found this place while flying over here on Palmephius."

Lunarissa had finished and leaped back up onto Chasilin's lap, her head and shoulders just above the rim of the top of the table. "Nick." she said to him, looking at him with a serious gaze, her eyes glowing slightly with her barely contained excitement. "When can we begin learning magic?" When Luna spoke she had meant 'we' by she and Nick alone but both Palmephius and Chasilin looked up at him, also curious and expectant.

"Yeah but sometimes the elephant just steps on it. Don't be so cocky" Kai laughed. The brute raised a brow, "Not the strongest, no. But that's funny coming from such a small thing" he taunted. He shifted, moving his head from the punch and swiflty threw a punch of his own to Kyl's gut. Since his arm was so large, it parried Kyl's blow to his stomach, glancing off his arm instead. Kai turned back to the bartender. "I don't know why guys have to beat each others faces in for entertainment. And they say women are strange" the bartender made a bark of laughter, "Aha, don't pretend ye havn't, missy" "...Touche"

Fayt shrugged, "I don't know. I haven't seen Nick in a while. Maybe it just collapsed without maintenance?" he guessed, not really having a clue. He turned around as he felt Nell play with his tail. "Aww" he cooed. Fayt crouched down and started to lightly tickle her sides. Jaden continued to flap his wings, trying to fly with little avail. Fayt didn't know how to help there, he had no wings.

Meracle tilted her head in thought, "Not more or less comfy, I just don't fly much. Hardly a reason to since I really don't leave the NE region. Everything's more or less right bunched together. Besides, for that one off day, you fly straight into a tree while going through the jungle" she grinned at him. She recalled an old human movie called George of the Jungle with a similar situation.

"I have my share of parties at my parent's house. I didn't need to think of things to do before. Everyone was always coming through the house creating 'entertainment' for all" Luna trotted into the room and set her furry face on Shadow's lap. She reached a heavy paw over as well, demanding to be pet. "I don't know, it's winter, I hate the cold. What do you like to do?"

Kyl chuckled and dodged to the side as the mans fist came at him. Kyl then grabbed the man's wrist, and his shoulder. He threw himself up in almost a cartwheel. Kyl wrapped his legs around the man's neck and flexed every muscle in his legs before pulling tight. He then let his body fall, using the gravity as his ally by pulling on the man's neck even more. Kyl then began to use his elbow to start slamming it into the spinal cord of the man's back.

Shadow chuckled. "Well I was just trying to give some options. I don't normally do anything for fun other then train. But I was also living alone with no one around for a few miles actually. Shadow turned around and leaned against the wall and leaned his head slightly to the side and back against the wall with a slight smile.

Richard saw that Aeolus got attacked by two more monsters and barely restrained himself from panic. Quickly thinking, he whistled once again, calling for help, then he pulled out his trusty iron dagger and attempted to jump at the ninetailed monster from behind. He wasn't sure whether it will work or not.

"...I see." - said Rina, looking at the stone, then at Brian. She noticed the look of the grin and made a mental note about him. Then she made herself look like that she didn't notice that. "...So, with that it will be good for both of us: the mischief, caused in the city, will reduce, and it would be easier for me to find my friends."

"Do you think they can get it fixed?" Minerva asked. Nell laughed as she got tickled and she instinctively tried to move a bit to the side to avoid getting tickled.

((That brings back memories of when my dad tickled me when I was very young.))

The blue nine-tailed monster got jumped on and stabbed by Richard's dagger as it yelped out in pain. The monster thrashed around as it tried to shake the boy off. Aeolus swung his tail up in front of himself to bring the white monster into his line of fire. He blew out lightning zaps at the creature and shocked it. The monster released its fangs and fell down onto the ground as it was temporarily paralyzed by the shock. The venom on Aeolus's tail took effect as the dragon started feeling feverish and weak. "Damn..." he cursed. Then he hovered down onto the ground as the poison kept him from having the strength to fly. The first two monsters ran over to Aeolus and started to bite and tear at him with their hyena-sharp fangs. The green dragon roared in agony before he tried to breathe lightning at the lion monster, who easily dodged the attack with swift speed before it went back to biting. Then he tried to swat his claw at the striped monster, who avoided the attack too. Suddenly, the two dragons who were hunting, came over and fly down at the monsters that were attacking Aeolus. The monsters saw them and stopped biting to flee from the swooping dragons. "Aeolus, are you alright?" asked one of the dragons. "Don't... Don't... worry about me. Just concentrate... on the creatures," Aeolus told them through his illness.

"Hey Matt, can we go swing on the vines?" asked Androcles. "Sure, why not, little man. Go right ahead," the winged mint dragon said. "Yay! Come on guys, last one to the vines is a rotten egg," said excited Androcles who started running. "Oh I'm definitely going to come out a fine egg! You can't beat the fastest in the family," said Danielle who was pretty confident about her speed. "Watch out for humans and panthers!" Matt warned. "Okay!" the hatchlings said. After a little while, the hatchlings climbed up a tree that had vines on it. "I'm gonna go first!" said Androcles before he took a vine and started swinging to another tree. "Weeeee!" he cried out with joy. Kylie offered a vine to Sapphire and asked, "Sapphire, want to go next?"

Richard was barely holding on monster's body, as he was thrashed all around the place. He felt that his strength is rapidly reducing: the monster was too powerful for him, so he clinged on his dagger with all his might. Unfortunately, Richard wasn't able to hold on the monster that long, and he fell off. Faceplanting the ground, he fruitlessly tried to get up. Dagger was still on the monster, though.

((Errr...what kind of tent is it? A typical canvas wedge or wall tent, or is it something else? Cause I'm picturing a wedge. happy.gif))

"Alright then, nothing ventured nothing gained I guess." Gal muttered, he doubted the situation would be resolved with such ease. Gal began by crawling into the heap of a tent. From there he started trying to prop it up properly again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Absolutely, although at this first stage Erin will only be able to watch the parts of the cities that the posts can reach. You see it-" "OI! Don't go explaining my spells to a total stranger Tack!" Erin snapped at the electric dragon making him wince. "Look just get it set up. We don't have forever and I sincerely doubt that she can afford to stand around here chatting as well. Now git!" Tack shrugged and and lowered his wing for Brian. Brian climbed up onto Tackeron's back and made himself comfortable. "Shall we start with the industrial zones." "You remember to get permission from the mayor?" Brian chuckled at the question. "I'll ask him once we arrive to do that part of the city." Brian replied hinting that he really didn't care whether or not the mayor gave him permission. "Come on Rina I'll explain things to you as we go along ok?" He said before taking to the air again.

((In other words can I set these up Sai? They really are just for observation but allow me to basically spy on your city from their apartment. happy.gif))

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

((I don't actually understand what Meracle is saying would you kindly clarify Sai unsure.gif ))

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sapphire was sadly the last one up the tree making her a rotten egg. She had taken note of Matt's warning and she would definitely be on the look out for humans although not because she wanted to avoid them. She began to wonder what meeting a human would be like as Androcles swung on his vine.

"Want to go next?"

Her cousin's voice brought Sapphire back to the real world. "Huh? Oh ya sure." She accepted the vine from Kylie and gripped it tightly. Looking down from her perch she saw that the ground was farther away than she had anticipated and for a moment her breath caught in her throat. Sapphire breathed deep and leaned back before kicking off the branch and swinging through the air. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHH" Sapphire had let out a high pitched squeal as she swung through the air. Her heart raced at the feeling of rushing through the air. Her vine came really close to the ground and she let go of it. Sapphire rolled across the dirt after landing for a bit before coming to a complete stop. She sat quietly there as her head spun from the experience.

The brute grabbed Kyl's legs and easily peeled him off from his larger size. Since he already had a hold of Kyl's legs, he whipped Kyl around and smashed him down on a table. Kai just dulled her eyes at the racket and instead struck up conversation with the bar tender. She chatted about checking out the outside world and visiting the queen again. "Pickin' trouble with th' Queen. Ye were always her most fav'rable" he commented with a snicker. She half nodded.

((Sure Enk. Though Windfall strays away from apartments. They try to expand to keep normal housing and if anything is bunched... it'd probably be... probably condos lol))

She's saying she doesn't fly much. And that there isn't much point since the NE is a big forest. So, she joked if someone was distracted one day while flying through the woods, they might go face first into a tree trunk))

"I hope so" Fayt glanced away for a moment. "As much as I like this place, I wouldn't want to be stuck here forever" he said, missing his friends and brother suddenly. Fayt tickled a little more before stopping. He didn't want to overdo it. Her reached over and gently ruffled Nell's hair.

Rina, looking back at the Erin with the farewell look, took off in the air along with Tackeron and Brian, who has been carried by the former. She turned her head to the dragon, making clear that she is listening. Periodically she was slowing down, as she was seemingly faster than Tackeron, even if not counting Brian on his back.

The blue monster with the dagger still on it, turned on Richard and growled at him. As it tried to run towards him for the attack, its movement made the dagger touch the edge inside the flesh and probably cut it. The monster yelped at its pain and stopped running. So instead of going after its foe, the monster shot out a blue beam at Richard. "Are you sure?" asked the dragon, who wasn't convince about Aeolus being fine. "I'm getting a healer over. Just kill off the creatures now," he told them.

((I'll just say the two dragons, plus a third who joined in, fought the monsters offscreen, since I'm too lazy right now to post the fight.))

"Let me go next!" Danielle said before she took a vine and swung. "Woo-hoo!" she said as she swung around the tree. Kylie, the last one to go, swung on her vine over to Androcle's side. Everybody kept swinging on vines for fun while laughing and squealing until they heard a dragon roar. "What was that?" Androcles asked. "I don't know, Androcles. But I can't say it's Aunt Atlas or Uncle Malice. I guess it's not Matt either," answered Kylie. "Sounds like he's in trouble though," said Danielle.

"Yeah, we could be missing all our friends outside," said Minerva. After Fayt tickled Nell and ruffled her hair, Nell blinked and crawled away to under the table.

((Hey Enkie, is it alright if Atlas's family adopts an orphaned hatchling, who's going to grow up loyal to Malice and follow his goal into wiping out humans, since he lost his parents to hunters and wants revenge?))

((I had totally forgotten to reply with Ayos.))

Ayos chuckled at the joke recalling his own incident that had brought him to Rika's house. Although that injury had actually been in a cave. "Now that couldn't be any truer. Gotta say I've had a few of my own accidents flying about this continent. I've crashed into a stalactite once flying through a tunnel and I've been struck by lightening before as well. Actually, I almost got skewered by a piece of debris flying through a tornado that struck windfall just before the war. I'm a bit accident prone." He said cheerily as if almost dying on two occasions wasn't the worst thing to happen to him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

((Ok Brian's home is now a condo happy.gif))

"Ok so here is what we are doing and how it works. We are going to fly to a select few spots in each area and put down these posts. Then Brian will take the stone enchanted by Erin and tap it once against the post. That will pass on the enchantment needed to make the sign post into a psyche post effectively linking it to the shrine set up that Erin is putting together back home. From inside that shrine Erin can cast her clairvoyance spell centering it on the shrine which then sends the spell through the link effectively casting it at each of the posts. This basically allows her to roam the area outside of her own body and jump from post to post or even back to the shrine. The draw back is that the spell only allows her to see things, she won't be able to hear anything spoken or any other noise for that matter unless someone tries to talk to her with telepathy. Also if she is looking for anything or anyone in particular so long as the object isn't too vague and within range the spell will take her straight to the item in question. If it's a person and she either knows the person or has something that belongs to them the spell will take her straight to the person as well. Now here is the cool part, so long as she is...for lack of a better term hooked up to the shrine she can search and find anything or anyone within range of her or any of the posts which is something like a five block radius per post. As for anything beyond her range I guess it just becomes black or something. With the sixteen charges we have we can set up enough to watch just important areas as more members start to join and get sent out here the gaps will get filled in. Right now we are just laying out some rough ground work." tack finished his explanation just in time for Brian to instruct him to set down. "That alley there seems good. It should cover the better part of the marketplace." Tackeron glided down next to the alleyway and landed on the street. Brian hopped off with one of the posts and went into the alley. "So what do you think? Any questions?" Tackeron seemed pretty excited to be explaining this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

((I'm cool with that red happy.gif Go SOS hatchling brigade! xd.png))

Sapphire also heard the roar and looked up from her sitting position. "Who is that?" she pondered out loud. Sapphire didn't wait for the others and instead started heading towards the noise. "Come on you guys let's go find out!" She called back to her relatives as she lead the way through the underbrush. Sapphire lept over stones and roots ducked under leaves and generally didn't slow down or look back to see if the others were even following, she was too filled with excitement at finding out the unknown to be bothered.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

((I use my summon the blue moon power! Nick what happens when the tent gets set back up? Does the spell need to be recast or does it automatically reconnect with the other world?))

Galamonaro finished setting up the tent and stepped outside. "I guess we just need to wait and see." He said looking had his handiwork to see if there was anything else that needed to be corrected about the tent. "Ehehhheh, nah. I think we can have our own just fine." Gal replied in good humor playing along with the joke.

Richard just started to move, when he heard an awful cracking noise, then he felt a huge pain in his left arm. He barely avoided to fall unconscuious and looked at his arm. It seemed like that it was broken by the beam. He tried to get up, just to feel another wave of pain coming on him. He kept himself on the ground, when he saw by the edge of the eye, that the monster is dealt with. Now he waited for pain to wear off.

"None. I got it all." - replied Rina, when she landed on the ground.

Meanwhile as the hatchlings were running through the jungle, a large purple dragon with bloody cuts all over his body was fighting a small group of slayers. The dragon fought viciously against his attackers to avenge his brown mate who has just been killed in the fight. He clawed, tail swiped, and rammed his horns at the hunters, who all retaliated with weapons and magic. A wizard cast the blinding spell at the dragon's eyes and made him stagger backwards as he lost his vision. The swordsman dealt a finishing blow to the dragon's heart and killed him. With both dragons dead, the hunters proceeded to remove the pelts and horns off the dragons before they left. By the time the hatchlings got there, they were all horrified to see two dead bodies in front of them. "Holy cow!" Danielle gasped in shock. "No way, what just happened?" asked Androcles. "Humans did this obviously," said Kylie who took note of the skinned mates.

The blue monster struggled to run at Richard, but then it got scratched and toppled over by a swooping dragon. The monster tried to shoot beams at the dragon, but he flew out of the way of each shot. Then the other dragon flew down at the monster breathed down fire at it, making the monster yelp loudly in pain as it hopped around. The three other monsters dodged the other dragon's attacks until the cobra-fanged one jumped up at him and chomped down on his leg as it seeped poison into it. The dragon swat it off with his sharp claws at the two monsters who moved out of the way. But the dragon started to feel the effects of the poison and as he started to feel weary and feverish. He fought to stay airborne to avoid the going down to the vicious nasty monsters, but venom was taking its toll on him. Aeolus saw that his fellow dragon was slowly descending, but not to low to the ground, and breathed lightning at the hyena, lion, and white monsters to distract them. The monsters got zapped and momentarily paralyzed by the shock allowing time for the poisoned dragon to attack without retaliation.
