Dragon Scrolling?

Recommended Posts

I think, personally, that this feature would be extremely helpful and would just make scrolls easier to navigate when you want to focus on individual dragons. Instead of having to go back and click on another dragon, you could just click the arrow to go to the next dragon on your scroll.

Perhaps something like this?

Sorry if this has been suggested before, feel free to erase. (:

Yes, this would be quite convenient.

I'd really like this to happen. Maybe it could also have the name of the dragon in front and behind of it on the arrows? :3

I would use this all the time, especially to check the times on my eggs...

I'm not sure I'd ever use it, but if other people think it'd be helpful, then I don't see why not. smile.gif While I don't think it's that necessary, it's quite minor and I don't see how it could do any harm either.

I don't use things like these because I get really lost and can never make it to the one thing I want to go to next, but it wouldn't harm me if this was implemented. :3

I wouldn't use this for my adults, but it would be really handy when viewing my eggs and hatchlings.

With some modifying, this could work. I'd like toggles so that it could only be visible on the /user/usernamehere pages. Also, I'd like the arrows to be smaller; they're huge in the mock-up.

I agree with both of your suggestions, and yeahhh, quick job in MS Paint sorry LOL (:

I was also thinking of perhaps a scrollbar to pick what dragon to forward to? If you know what I'm saying? Like a drop-down menu thing. (: Not extremely necessary but it would be nice.

That would be a very big dropdown menu for some of us, lol. But I can see where the arrows might be useful.

Great minds, think alike.

I think this would really come in handy on the actions page aswell. When you are searching your red dragons for one that can still incubate for instance.

It is an elegant idea.

I wouldn't use it that much, but if it helps people then I don't mind it happening. smile.gif

how about you know, the scroll bars on the side and button on the internet, how about make it a scroll bar that does that, unique, small, and no need of list of dragons, you scroll over a little and get the next dragon, just very instant like.

pretend its a scroll bar

<----------[]---------->

that way you can simply scroll. Just an idea instead of arrows.

Ooo, I'd never thought of this! Would be so useful, though, especially for checking which BSA dragons are available. Hate opening them all at once or having to go back. I'd rather have buttons (though smaller than the ones on the OP's picture). Wouldn't really want an automatic scroll-thing, since I have a laptop and it would be kind of annoying if I scrolled it unintentionally. Maybe there could be a thing on the Options page to choose between buttons, scrolling, and turning it off completely?

Amazing idea! This would help loads when I am looking for CB only of a specific breed!

Hmm, I'm kind of null for this, but I'm leaning a bit towards the side against it. I have my dragons in a certain order and it would be difficult for me to stay on track of them with arrows or scroll bar in their pages. And it would be hard for people with 500+ dragons to use, as well, with all of those dragons to go through with just arrows/scroll bar. But it would be useful it it was automatically set to being organized by breed, and not scroll. And if there was options on organization, like CB or bred eggs/dragons, by age, etc.

I tend to know what dragon I'm looking for by name, and like Socky said, I would most likely get lost as it seems to be geared towards those that sort their dragons by breed, but... I wouldn't mind if it were implemented. Just really wouldn't use it.

It's a really cool and original idea, but I'm neutral for it. However, I could support it, c: if its optional.

Heres some things I see about it, (hence the neutrality):

Pro: A person can check through dragons/a certain breed more quickly.

Con: A person who has over 1,000 dragons is better off just having the scroll down method.

Pro: It can see all the dragons on a person's scroll the way they are ordered in an easy manner.

Con: But wouldn't it become more of a "flipping a book" style rather than a "scroll style" (aka, using your mouse to scroll up and down) which is what DC has always been?

Pro: If you happened upon a dragon and don't see a owner name and yet wanted to see the rest, this is possible.

Con: However, the point of people hiding their names / adults / scroll is to NOT let the people see their dragons. While it would make it more frustrating for stalkers to do so, it makes stalking hidden scrolls possible and defeats the purpose of the "Hide Scroll/Adults" options.

I never thought of it not being JUST for the scroll owner.... If it will show dragons on hidden scrolls - that is a no from me.

it would make trying to breed a certain type of dragon SO much easier.
