Background:

You had always dreamed about flying. This dream turned into reality when you awoke with bird wings one morning! Confused and in fear of being called a freak, you wondered how to hide your wings from everybody. Luckily, with a little concentration, your wings could morph back inside of you, as if they were never there. When you wished for them to come out, they re-grew. It took a minute or so for the whole process to complete itself. Ever since then, you have started to learn how to fly. However, you had to practice flying during nights so you would not get caught...

Despite your effort to hide your beautiful, strong wings, your family found out. They called an ambulance, the police - everyone! You didn't want to get caught and be taken to a laboratory - or even worse, a zoo. You decided to flee. But just before you made your escape, you heard the police say: "Another one of these freaks."

As you flew towards the Snowy Mountains, you met some flying scouts - Winged people, just like you!! They took you to their small village, high up in the mountains, where humans can't come. But with their more advanced technology and weaponry, there is always a danger of humans finding out about the Keep.

 

Time Setting and Geography:

The RP is set in the same time as our world. However, the weapons that the Winged use are quite old, since they don't have the materials to make better ones. Also, this is played in an alternative universe, so names are quite different.

 

Map

There are various towns and cities in Endarha, but the greatest of them all is Freyra, located next to the great Nyrrar River, which flows across the region South-East to West. Around this river grows vast forest lands, called the Green Sea, touched only by roads and other big cities and towns.

Far off to the North-East, there are the Snowy Mountains, highest mountains of the region, which are also called the "Edge of Endarha". The closest town next to the Snowy Mountains is Watra. The two highest mountains are Bercca and Oshy.

To the North are the Ice Plains, where there are more animals and fewer humans. Some brave people do live there, sending rich minerals that they have mined back to the cities.

Off West is the Deshe Sea, which brings rains and lots of fish to the coast.

In the South there are Rich Plains, used in farming.

 

Wind Keep and everyday life:

A really crappy map

The village where you live is located between the two highest mountains - Bercca and Oshy. The village's name is Wind Keep. It is always windy up there, but the clothes you wear there are warm and even allow you to spread your wings.

Wind Keep is well-built from wood from the Green Sea and stone from the Snowy Mountains. Some of the Winged have even gone all the way to the Icy Plains to get some beautiful stones to decorate the buildings. The houses are furnished with fur, leather, wood, and stone. There is a fireplace in each house.

 

During nights, it is dangerous to go fly down to the Green Sea - there are various animals that think that Winged are big birds and will try to eat them.

 

There are about a hundred-or-so Winged people - female, male, young, and old alike. Every week or so, a new Winged appears at the Wind Keep with the help of the Scouts. None of them know for sure why they are Winged.

Almost everyone manages to escape, but a few have been caught. This has given the humans some information, but since most Winged don't even know how their transformation happened, they consider this an effect of pollution or genetic manipulation. These hypotheses have caused a media uproar, as people try to figure out the reason there are people sprouting wings.

Some say they are angels, descended from heavens, some say they are demons. Most believe they are genetically manipulated; a few think it's because of industrialization.

 

 

Jobs:

Every day the Flyers take time to teach the young and the new Winged how to skillfully fly. Flyers also teach healing skills with herbs and special berries since they don't have access to the human medical care. Hunters and Warriors alike practice daily with their weapons of old - spear, bow and arrow, and sword. After their practice session, three-fourths of the Hunters go hunting for food. The rest teach younger ones how to hunt with the help of their wings and how to use the weapons. Most of the Warriors are also Scouts, so they leave to scout the Snowy Mountains and the vast forests for signs of human activity. The few Warriors left behind will teach alongside the Hunters.

Who is playing as this character: Kayrinda

Name: Rena Dervalt

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Description: Rena is quite tall, about 5 feet 6"/176cm an weights 127 lbs/58 kg. Her eyes are a mixture of blue and green; green in the middle and blue on the rims. Rena cut her hair short and shaggy, after she noticed it was really hard to fly with long hair. She has blond hair with lighter stripes. Her skin has tanned from being outside a lot, but it was paler than others from living close to the Icy Plains.

Rena's clothing is made of soft, warm boots, light brown pants, a warm, white shirt with holes in the back for her wings, a pale-blue jacket with holes. When not flying, the holes in the shirt can be closed with zippers the Winged have brought with their human clothing. Rena also has a necklace made of silver.

Personality: Rena is mostly calm and calculative. This makes her a good healer and even greater teacher. She hates doing anything without thinking first, and fighting is not her thing. However, she can be quite a wildcat if she is offended or threatened. Earning her trust and friendship might first feel hard, but after you have earned it, she will be a great friend.

Rena loves flying during the nights, when she can feel the night winds and watch the stars. Her favorite colors are white, blue, and grey.

Background: When Rena was a child, she lived in a town called Sadr. It was, and is still, located on the edge of Green Sea and Icy Fields. She was a quiet student in school, but had a few great friends. Rena was about fourteen, when she discovered her wings. It was a shock to her, since she had always loved the sight of soaring birds. Her wings were discovered, when she had tried to make a spiral-dive, and landed to the pool on her family's backyard. Dripping wet, she had barely made her escape. After flying a few nights, she was found by the Scouters and taken to Wind Keep. There she discovered a new life and a new family. Ever since, she has been a Flyer, but ever fearing, what would happen, if the village would be discovered...

Name: Aeio

Gender: Male

Age: 14

Description: Aeio is very tall for his age, 5' 11" and has long hair (usually in need of a haircut) that depending on lighting can seem anywhere from light brown to pitch black. His eyes are a turquoise blue and he always wears a chain with a silver oak leaf charm on it. Aeio usually wears a tee-shirt, long pants with boots up to almost his knees, and sometimes a hoodie. Aeio is also almost never found without at least one weapon with him, his favorite being a long broadsword made of black iron and an intricate hilt made of silver

Wings: Image Aeio has falcon wings that are designed for speed they shimmer from brown to black in the light, much like his hair. His wing span is approximately 14 ft.

Personality: Aeio is a bit of a wanderer, flying in and out and up and down all over the world, though he often checks back in with home, Wind Keep. Aeio is a bit on the shy side but if he has something to say to you you'll know it. Aeio also loves sciences and books and will spend hours on end reading or studying, unlike many others Aeio teaches himself what he is interesting and is very intelligent because of his keeping up with school.

Background: Aeio is the second son of the leader of the Winged, he grew up with wings, living in Wind Keep. Aeio is always compered with his older brother, but he doesn't mind much, being younger means more freedom. While his brother would train and study Aeio would often slip away in his childhood to explore something or train with his sword or, as he got older, leave for days on end.

-6" strikers, a metal rod with hard orbs on each end used for stabbing at the temples or other pressure points to knock enemy unconscious. Given to him by his sword master.

-Twin set of daggers, one larger for support and stabbing, one smaller for throwing. Both made of incredibly strong material that seems blue in the sunlight but gray in the dark.

Wings: Image Wingspan 49.6 ft (For a girl that is 5'6) (THey rang from the colors white to golden brown to black. Her feathers Are completely black with smoky white tips on the largest feathers)

Personality: Quiet, Shy, Loves to be alone. Passionate, Caring and Secretive.

Background: As a young girl she was diagnosed with Severe depression, which caused her to become more of a tyrant child. Her parents both died so they kept her in the mental hospital and jail until she was 16 then she was released after her grandparents appealed for custody. She went to live with them when the change happened, when they sent her back to a mental hospital thinking it was a hoax. Thats where they bound her until she escapes.

Other: She does have the strange ability to seemingly disappear since she is extremely quiet and blends in with everything. She is also Fluent in french and spanish. She will eventually adopt Nathaniel as her son.

Personality: Quiet, Outgoing (Whenever Hyper), Moody, Emotional.

Background: He was born average, until a change happened. He grew wings. He was sent to the hospital to have them removed when all of a sudden his father had grown wings to. He and his father then tried to escape, and got pretty far until one day someone shot and killed his dad. He was close to the mental hospital in which Chessayia was at. She and him became close and finally she adopted him as her son because she loved him.

Other: He is very joyous and always carrying around a black stuffed bunny named Rico.

Name: Taou

Gender: Male

Age: 10

Description: Taou is 4'7" with warm brown hair and eyes that were originally green but when he got his wings gained the ability to change from green to blue to brown. Taou is slightly on the pale side despite the amount of time he spends outside and usually has a grin on his face and a laugh in his eyes.

Wings: Image Taou has a falcon's wings and is one of the fastest fliers, and runners, of Wind Keep. Taou's wings are a mix of black and white that seem to ripple across his feathers when he flies, the tips have a slight hint of a sunset orange that will become more prominent as he gets older (Seen in picture as tail feather color) Taou's wing span is approximately 10 ft

Personality: Taou is very outgoing and has a ton of friends and few enemies, the biggest trouble maker in Wind Keep, Taou never stops pranking, stealing, or generally creating a ruckus. Taou also has the uncanny ability to get out of trouble wether it be by running or flying like crazy and losing his advisory in the winding streets and tall mountains he knows so well, or sweet talking, bribing, whining and wiggling is way out of a sticky situation. Although he embarrasses a few people here and there Taou is generally a nice guy and can be serious when the occasion calls for it.

Background: Taou discovered his wings when he was 7 and, being so young, couldn't hide hem for long. When his parents found out they kicked him out of the house telling him to never come back, after surviving on his own for about a week Taou ran into Aeio and was led back to Wind Keep. Ever since then Taou has looked up to Aeio and revered him, Aeio is one of the few people who can successfully discipline Taou.

Other: Taou lives on the streets so to speak, he has a few houses that will let him sleep there for a night or two but he often sleeps under the stars in the trees on the edge of the village or on the tops of the buildings in the heart of Wind Keep.

Name: Skyleigh "Skye" Summers

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Description: Skye About 5'3 with blue eyes and very pale skin. Dyed her hair to match her eyes. Has a tattoo of three birds on her left shoulder blade, but usually hides it. She usually wears all black, from her favorite black jacket down to her black hunting boots. Is never seen in colors other than blue and black. A silver bracelet with the words "Carpe Diem" adorns her right wrist.

Wings: Really beautiful bluejay wings that she always keeps folded against her back. She never flies. Wingspan=3'4

Personality: A friendly, but rather independent character. Her petite stature and kind personality makes her seem more innocent, childlike and weak, however she is very well able to handle herself. It takes a while for her to trust others, and she never talks to anyone about her past. She can be a devoted friend once you get to know her well. Still, she's quick to anger about some things, especially when people bug her about how she dislikes flying.

Background: Her parents, professional skydivers, named her Skyleigh after the sky that they adored. They wished that she would love the air as much as they did. And they were right. For the first 10 years of her life, Skye enjoyed jumping out of planes, bungee jumping and hang gliding. And then the accident. She didn't remember much about that day, only waking up with her arm in a cast. But she knew that it had been a skydiving adventure gone wrong and ever since then, she has had a horrible fear of heights and, when her wings grew in, she had been ready to cut them off. When she was first brought to Wind Keep as a 13 year old, she had been reserved and angry at the world but over the years she's opened up and committed herself to Winged life, although she still has never used her wings.

Other: Weapons of choice: A naginata. She is wickedly good with her naginata. It has an extendable shaft allowing her to extend it during battle but otherwise keep it slung over her back.

Name: Rose Jackson

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Description: Rose is 5 feet tall, weighs a little over 95 pounds, and doesn't have very good arm strength. She has a very bright and cheerful face, and is almost always smiling. Her hair is a reddish brown somewhere between auburn and chestnut, and is kept in a long ponytail. Her eyes are a blue-ish grey.

Wings: Hummingbird Wings Having hummingbird wings allows her to fly very quickly, as well as hover, fly sideways and backwards, and even upside down. Her wingspan is 4' 6" (1m 37cm).

Personality: Rose is always very cheerful and happy. She has an overabundance of energy and has a lot of trouble sitting still. Often she'll spend her spare time exploring, or practicing flying, instead of doing things that she considers 'boring', like reading for medium to long periods of time. She loves to learn, especially about birds, she just doesn't like sitting down for long to do so. When she talks, it usually seems like she doesn't know what a 'comma' is, often talking with long, run-on sentences. She is pretty intelligent, but is very scatter-brained, often forgets things, and didn't do very well in school.

Background: Ever since she was young, Rose has loved birds and the idea of flying. She didn't like to sit still, but would occasionally learn about birds, and kept several birds feeders in her backyard, where she watched the birds. Her wings showed up about two weeks ago, and she managed to hide them for about a week. Eventually, however, her parents found a huge, shimmering green feather. Having heard about the 'winged ones', they panicked and called the police. Terrified, Rose ran away. After a day of running, a scout found her and brought her back to Windkeep. She's only been there a few days, and mostly has to teach herself to fly, because there are no other hummingbird-winged people in Windkeep to teach her (unless someone else RPs one).

Job: None yet. She will probably become a hunter or a scout, but is still learning how to fly properly.

Personality: James is a very calm, cool, and collected type of male. Liking to hear the whole story before he decides to take action. Acting parental towards some of the younger Winged who make it there. However he becomes very protective of those he takes under his 'wings'.

Background: James lived a happily normal life having a mother and father, two brothers and a dog. However with his smarts he was ridiculed a bit because he was able to go to school earlier and graduate at the age of sixteen. A month after his graduation his wings came in and his family was supportive of him and didn't ridicule him, but he could see in their eyes that they didn't feel the same about him. So after he learned how to fly he took his things, his puppy and flew off.

Other: He has issues bringing his wings in so he leaves them out and usually goes without a shirt.

Name: Connor

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Description: Pretty much like this except with white hair and a much longer trench coat. He is very skinny and, quite pale, and is roughly 5.7ft.

Wings: Andean Condor wings which are black and have a 11.5ft wingspan.

Personality: He is fairly quiet, due to the traumas of his childhood he doesn't get along too well with others but this is mainly due to his suspicion of everyone. He is ever longing for companions but is always afraid they will go behind his back in some way. He loves the open air and enjoys flying as well as the cold.

Background: Connor was abandoned at birth, due to his parents in-ability to take care of him. He was adopted by a kindly elderly couple who longed for child, due to their inability to conceive. However when Connor was 8 they died in a car crash, due to his unofficial adoption, and lack of a will, nothing was left to him. Connor was forced to live on the streets of the city, scrounging in the bins to find food. Eventually when he was about to die of cold at the age of 13 he got his wings. The wings allowed him to stay warm, but the malnutrition prevented him from being capable of flying. He eventually met a group of fellow alley dwellers and lived with them for a while. Afraid of what would happen if he showed them his wings he flew at night. When he was 15 one of them caught him flying and ran to the police screaming devil. Connor fled from them, flying further north and was eventually found by some scouts. Untrustworthy at first, he eventually relented and traveled with them to Wind Keep.

Other: He carries a harpoon attached to a very long piece of industrial cable he scavenged. He also holds a dagger for fileting.

Who is playing as this character: GreatDragon

Name: Dias

Gender: Male

Age: 17 years old

Description: Tall, thin, and lanky. He has light brown hair that is short and is slightly longer on the back of his neck. Light blue eyes and a rather narrow facial structure. He wears a dark blue short sleeve shirt and blue boot-cut jeans. He has a grey hoodie jacket that is very thin but soft in the inside. His clothing shows wear and looks faded. Both his shirt and jacket have two large holes in the back so that his wings can fit through.

Wings: Peregrine Falcon. Each wing is about 15 feet long, possibly shorter.

Personality: A rather cold and indifferent guy. He doesn’t like showing any of his emotions and keeps a neutral face on most of the time. He’d rather not have any help from anyone and rarely gives help to others, even if a child is involved. He keeps a lot of things hidden and under wraps, so he has a lot of pent up emotion. Before his wings started to appear, he went on with his own life, working at a boring job and not really doing anything at all. When his wings came in, he had no idea what to do. Leaving the apartment, whether it was day or night, would allow people to see him and not leaving would arouse the suspicion of others. It was a double-blade situation, and he decided to not leave and try to hold out, at least until the wing crazy left or his own wings died. Unfortunately, he was caught and placed with a bunch of other caught Winged in a hospital/prison. Experiments for the government were used on him and the others, and many of his cellmates died in front of his and others eyes. It was not a good experience and, when he finally escaped with the others, he had some mental issues. He doesn’t like being touched and will respond aggressively if someone does attempt to do so. He has nightmares frequently and is more vulnerable at night, which makes him usually try to be alone and not around other people.

Background: His wings didn’t grow in until a month or so ago, and they had taken awhile. He was able to hide them in a backpack with a hole in it, but then they got too large to hide. He was living alone (in a city close to Freyra), so he was able to hide out for awhile in his apartment, but the owner and his neighbors started to get suspicious (who wouldn’t, since his wings hit things on a regular bases and made a lot of noise). He tried to get away, but his timing was really bad. The police were already in the area since another Winged had been seen and he was chased. They actually called in a helicopter and had him netted and brought into a special ‘hospital’ that held other captured Winged (and a few people who didn’t have wings). He was held there for awhile, with a lot of side affects to his mental and physical health, when he finally escaped with a few others. None of them wanted to stay together and they all went separate ways, with him heading North, towards the Ice Plains and Watra.

Other:

-Has a grey bandana that he carries in his pocket. He uses it to cover his mouth and nose while flying. Also has a pair of skydiving goggles to cover his eyes.

-Can’t hide his wings into his back, since they are very large.

-Because he got the wings of a Peregrine Falcon, he can go incredibly fast. However, this is exceedingly dangerous for him, since the amount of air that he would be moving through could burst his lungs and his eyes could get damaged. Though his bandana helps with air flow and his goggles cover his eyes, he still can’t go as fast as he could.

-He can easily get an injury. The growth of his wings took out a lot of nutrients from his skeleton and he has to be careful when flying and landing, since he could break a bone that would take awhile to heal.

-He never ate much before his wings grew in and, now, he barely eats at all. Though the energy is needed, he became picky and just dislikes eating. Without his clothes, his bones show through and he is malnourished. Though it does make him get tired easily, he isn’t very concerned for his well-being.

-His wings seem to have a mind of their own. Though this is not true and it’s just his subconscious looking out for him, they react to his emotions and can easily knock someone over if they seem threatening.

Name: Alice

Gender: Female

Age: 10

Description: Alice has brown curly hair with a white flower headband. Her eyes are hazel with silver flecks in them and she's 4'6".

Wings: Blue Macaw

Personality: Alice is nice and shy. She can snap and speak up along with going on a total outrage though.

Background: Alice had a normal life and had many friends. She didn't have a tragic past there were deaths like any life but her saddest one was her grandfathers death. After that it was her tenth birthday and she was thinking about how much her grandfather and her loved watching birds and how they had a pet blue macaw. Alice felt something strange, something different and turned her head to the side and saw... Wings! It was three days until her parents found out. She started to run out the window as they called everyone they could with their backs turned to her. She jumped and glided down to the ground from her second story bedroom. She jumped and partially flied. She wasn't as good as good as a bird but it will do. She flew to the winged keep and collapsed there but now it's turning into the present...

Name: Shiko

Gender: Female

Age: 16 1/2

Description: Shiko hair is reddish pink, while she has bright green eyes. Her skin is not tan, but not very pale either. Kind of in between. Shiko likes to wear a butterfly clip in her long hair, and she wears a black, white, and pink colored dress.

Wings: Shiko has white fluffy wings, like angel wings.

Personality: Shiko is very friendly and a happy girl. She loves to play games and hang out with friends. Shiko would not fight something, howver. She can get scared at times.

Background: Shiko was born as a normal human. Since she was 5, she has always wanted to fly. She liked to put on her pretend wings and jump up and down, feeling like she was in the clouds. But when Shiko was 13 years old, her dream of having wings to fly came true. Her parents thought she should...er....."move out". Shiko was surprised at this, but she listened and moved out to find a new place to live.

Other: Sometimes Shiko likes to wear black ears on her head...she kind of likes cats.

Name: Aliko

Gender: Male

Age: Just turned 17

Description: Aliko is like Shiko: not tan or pale. In between. He has blue eyes and a blue and white jacket with black pants. He has black hair and carries around a bag.

Wings: Black feathery wings. Like a crow, only bigger!

Personality: Aliko is kind of shy and quiet, but he may be chatty at times. He is protective of his friends and very energetic. He enjoys reading at times too.

Background: Aliko was not born with wings. He lived a normal life until he turned 14. Sometime in summer, when he was 14, Aliko was walking in the woods when he got his wings. Surprised, he rushed back home. His parents were shocked and barely recongized him. They knew humans were going to want to perform tests on him. So, they agreed when he was 15 he had to go out on his own. Aliko was sad, but he knew he would probably find Shiko.

Name: Tino Väinämöinen

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Description: Image His clothes are white/grey during winter, light green in the spring, dark green during the summer and red/orange/brown during the autumn - meaning, he changes the coloring of his clothes according to the seasons.

Wings: Snowy Owl

Personality: Even though his appearance is intimidating, Tino isn't evil or malevolent. He is calm, happy, a little bit shy and a great friend. He likes flying and helping others. However, Tino is ready to kill and he has done that... and will be ready to do it again.

Other: He's an excellent archer and uses also a knife in battle.

Name: Anaya

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Description: Anaya is 5'8". Her build is slim, but tone, especially in tye arms and shoulders from the archery. Her hair is a chestnut color, and falls to her waist. She often keeps it in a fishtail braid. Her eyes are a deep green. Her overall facial features give her an almost elvish look, though her ears are not pointed. She favors wearing the color green.

Wings: Wings Wingspan is about 10 feet. Since her wings are that of an owl, she is a silent flyer.

Personality: Anaya upon meeting is quiet. She takes time to open up to people, but once she is comfortable with the person she is lively, caring, and a great friend. She is also a strong, independent, and driven person with a touch of stubbornness. Anaya is a fighter and will defend those she loves with her life. Lastly, she is very intelligent, witty, and articulate.

Background: Anaya lived an average, happy life until the age of fourteen. It was on a fateful October morning that she would awake with her wings. She concealed them cleverly for a long while, but once her parents began noticing sleep deprivation and other changes in her, she fled, fearing discovery of her gift. She had heard of the village, and already able to do basic flying, she found shelter there.

Other: Her weapons of choice include a wooden recurve bow (64" 45lb) and arrows, and a pair of long daggers. She is also able to see well at night and is excellent at stealth and tracking.

Job: Doubles as a Hunter and a Scout

Chessayia:

 

Silence….Beautiful Silence…… Jolting awake she feels the bindings contract just her muscles do. Her first instinct is to fight, but then there’s that little worm of a second instinct that tells her to sleep. Her sore wings start to twitch underneath her uncomfortably as she just lays there. “JERKS! LET ME GO!” Her voice booms as she starts to struggle, the chain bounds cutting deeper into her already wounded flesh. Growling she arches her back and her wings spread wide, the wing tips touching the walls on either side. She grunts and using the unruly strength and adrenaline she breaks the supports of the chains around her wrists. The chains are still around them but she can sit up now. She breaks the chains off her ankles and gets up fully dashing out of the room and down a hall. “HEY! SHES BREAKING OUT!” She hears behind her before she turns and bolts towards the entrance of the hospital. Wearing only a pair of short shorts and a tight fitting black tank she has an advantage over the guards, she can move easier. “STOP!” A Guard shouts at her aiming his gun at her back between her wings. She lunges at one of the windows and breaks free into the outside world. ‘Fresh air!’ She smiles manically and flaps her wings, somehow knowing how to fly. She gets about a mile away before landing and walking some more.

 

Nathaniel:

 

“Daddy! We need to hurry!” He cries, trying to pull his Dad along even though his Dad isn’t budging. “DADDY!” He screams as his father collapses on the ground in the pool of his own blood. Looking up he sniffles and hugs his dad one more time and plucking a feather from his Dad’s wing and running off. His wings aren’t strong enough to carry him so he has to run the rest of the way his Dad was taking him. His eyes blur as he starts to cry again, the salty tears running down his cheeks and dripping every so often onto Rico’s head. He goes and sits on a boulder, looking at the cloudy sky as he tries to stop crying…CRUUNCH…”WHa-....” He looks over and sees a girl with huge wings….”Wait...YOU HAVE WINGS!” He rushes over to her as she yelps and spreads them wide. “Noooo Don’t be scared! I’m weak! And I have wings!” He spreads his once downy white wings, that are now flecked with blood. “I’m Nathaniel, whats your name miss?” He asks, hugging his bunny.

 

Chessayia:

 

The boy introduces himself as Nathaniel...’Interesting...’ She wonders to herself before responding. “I’m Chessayia…..May I ask why you are all alone??” The little boy looks forlorn as he speaks “My Daddy is over that way” He points to the east and she goes over to where he is pointing. She reaches a man there and kneels, feeling the weak pulse of the man. “Take….Care….of….Nathaniel…” Is the last things the man says before passing to Valhalla. Turning and standing she goes and picks Nathaniel up. “Come on, we’re gonna go find some others of our kind.” She smiles slightly and spreads her large wings and flapping them, hovering in the air slightly before heading over the forests to the very distant mountains.

Slowly beating his large wings Aeio hovered over Windkeep. Sighing he slowly hovered lower until he touched down outside his fathers office, his father always insisted that Aeio check in when he arrived at Windkeep. Looking down at himself Aeio groaned, his father would kill him for looking like this, he could see a long lecture in his near future. Running a hand through his way to long hair and putting on hid hoodie to try to hide the holes in his shirt Aeio pushed the door open. Right as he open it Aeio was shoved back, "Hey watch it!" Aeio exclaimed as a body shoved past him. "Aeio?" a voice said, "Oh hey." Aeio replied, realizing he had just yelled at his brother, "You should really watch where your go-" Aeio was cut off as his brother slapped him on the back, "It's good to see you!" his brother exclaimed, "Watch out for dad though he's pretty pissed you've been gone so long." "How long has it been?" Aeio asked, he was never very good at keep track of time. "Almost four months." Four months, gulp. "You know what, I was never here." Aeio said pushing his way out the door after his brother, he needed time to come up with a good excuse, "Wasn't here." Rena was in the storage house, ordering herbs she had been picking into their boxes. It was summer, so now the herbs were the best to pick, before the cold winds of autumn came and killed all the useful plants. The boxes had name tags, written in a neat handwriting Rena knew belonged to the earlier leader of the Flyers.Rena marked a few things into the list, that hang on the wall. They would need more cypress and red clover; the boxes were nearly empty. The next Scout or Hunter who would see the list could try and find some of it on their trips - Flyers were often too busy.

Rena sighed a little, and thought of checking the wind. She walked to the cliff, took a few steps backward, and jumped. She could hear the wind howling in her ears as she fell down. A bit before she would have hit the ground, Rena spread her wings, letting the warm air drift that came from the Green Sea to lift her up, up, up!

When she was at a good altitude, Rena locked her wings, and started soaring. Every now and then, she adjusted her wings with the gusts that blew. It was a nice weather, though there were coming clouds from the West. Rena shook her head, and continued her soaring, enjoying the wind, the scenery, and the lovely weather.

Chessayia and Nathaniel:

 

"Are we there yet??" Nathianel asks again for the millionth time. "Nate...." Chessayia sighs and lands on a big boulder below them. "I dare you to ask one more time." She grins and starts to tickle the little boy. He starts to squeal and giggle happily as she tickles him. Stopping she rolls her shoulder and sighs. "I do think we are almost there." She spots the edge of a large brown and grey wing flash in her vison before heading in a different direction. "Lets walk a little bit so I can rest my wings." She says as she helps Nathaniel down from the boulder. Her wings are quivering with weariness as she rests them, letting them slowly fold against her back. Sweat causes her tank top to stick to her and her hair is matted. "B-but..." He looks at Chessayia with pleading eyes, "No Nate, I'm extremely tired, espically since I'm partially medicated." He nods and holds her hand as they walk.

 

Looking around trying to not show how lost she knows they are she turns and heads in the direction of where she spotted the wing. Having a feeling that their about to meet someone....or something.

Rena had to land now; she thought she had seen a patch of rosemary when she had been flying closer to the woods, but she was not sure. Circling, Rena found a spot where she could land. Gliding down, she softly landed on the grassy patch of land, looking around. There were plants, but the specific plant which she had seen was... there!

Excited, Rena walked to the rosemary, viewing it. The rosemary seemed to be healthy, so Rena took a leather pouch and started picking the rosemary. Not all of it, of course, just enough for the needs of Wind Keep.

Chessayia and Nathaniel:

 

"Shhh.. I think I heard something..." She whispers and picks Nathaniel up in her arms. She creeps closer and she's a bunch of plants and then...... "A Girl!" Nathaniel squeals loudly. "Nathaniel........" Because her wings are so large they don't morph back into her back unlike Nathaniel's, but she tries to hide them best she can. Sighing they walk forward, her carrying and excited Nathaniel, and Nathaniel carrying his bunny named Ron....noo...Rico! She really hopes the girl hadn't heard them, so that they could have the upper hand in this situation...

Soaring over the landscape Aeio looked down below, searching for one person. Ahh there he was, and looking like he was about to cause a ruckus, as usual. Landing lightly beside Taou Aeio peered through the trees, trying to find what the 10 year old was looking at.

 

As Aeio landed beside him Taou moved his arm and gestured to the scene in front of him. "See those two?" Taou whispered, "I've never seen them before, and I've seen everyone in Windkeep. So they must be new." he said excitedly now.

 

"They're new?" Aeio asked in a hushed tone, "Yeah," Taou responded, quieter now, "And I'm gonna prank'm." "No you most certainly are not!" Aeio said, honestly the kid was nice but had no brains, "You don't even know if they have wings!" Pushing his way out from the branches that were hiding him Aeio realized that Rena was also in the clearing, "May I ask who you are?" Aeio asked the two newcomers while tipping his head in greeting to Rena.

Chessayia:

 

She turns, her whiteish grey eyes widening as she spots two other boys. She unfurls one of her huge wings and wraps it around Nathaniel protectively. "I'm Chessayia this is Nathaniel..." She looks around on wary of the others.

 

Nathaniel:

 

He meeps and wraps his arms around Chessay's neck scaredly. Her wing wraps around him as his two white wings, still flecked with blood, come from his back through his blue t-shirt, spreading wide before closing slightly. He buries his head into her chest and whimpers.

Smiling and extending a hand Aeio let is own wings unfurl slightly from their uncomfortable position under his jacket, "I'm Aeio and this is Taou." Aeio says as Taou follows him from the brush, "And we live in Windkeep. Windkeep was founded basically to keep us safe." As he said this Aeio unfurled his wings further to show who 'us' was. "It is a town populated only by Winged." As he finished saying this Aeio scowled and turned to face Taou, "Don't you dare." he said as the younger boy tried to sneak off, "I don't care what your excuse is you are staying with me till dinner."

 

As Aeio stopped his retreat Taou felt like groaning and smiling at the same time. On one hand no nothing tonight, but on the other he got a free dinner! As his smile won out Taou happily skipped over closer to the newcomers, "Can we give them the tour?" he asked.

Chessayia just stares at his hand with a piercing stare before whispering quietly to Nathaniel "Nate, you can remove yourself now." He hops down and spreads his downy wings and flaps them before leaving them extended. Running over Nathaniel grabs Rico from Chessay's pocket. Still not having said anything he looks warily at the two guys before hiding behind Chessay's wing. She folds her other wing but keeps the wing Nate is holding onto unfurled. Chessayia squares her shoulders and brushes back her thick black long hair. "Do you per chance have anything else I could wear? Or something for him?" She looks at Nate's clothing then at her own. Her lean legs have two tattoo's, one flame on her left calf, the one of a skull on her right thigh. Her cloud tattoo's and Celtic flame tattoo's have a sheen of sweat over them as she speaks. She tries hard for her wing to morph back into her back but because of the black angel's wings she had tattooed there before she turned she can't morph them.

Dropping his hand Aeio shrugged and turned to Taou, "Go find some clothes for them. Find not steal, if you need to get my dad." Turning back to Chessayia Aeio peered around her wing at Nathaniel, "Are either of you hurt very bad?" he asked her straitening up again. "Once Taou gets back I can take you into town."

 

Nodding at Aeio Taou spread his wings and jumped into the air, beating downward powerfully to get going. Gaining some altitude Taou turned to the town, flying quickly all the way there. As he reached Windkeep Taou quickly spotted a small building where people handed out every thing new comers would need. Landing near by Taou wondered why Aeio hadn't thought of it. Oh right he's been gone so long, it wasn't even here when he left. Taou thought as he told the woman that he needed clothes for a 5 or 6 year old and a 17 or 18 year old woman. As she handed him the clothes Taou again took off, flying towards the newcomer.

Chessayia turns to look at him, "Don't get no Idea's..." She turns and pulls up the tank top in the back, not wearing anything under her tank top, there is a large gash there from her escape. "There's that and.." She shows him her raw and bloody to the bone wrists wrapped in chains that are pretty much melded to her skin. "These are infected." She blinks slightly before adjusting herself and picking Nate up again. "I'm not hurt! Daddy is!" Chessayia looks at Nate when he says that and she hugs him tightly. "Nate, your Daddy told me to take care of you for him. Will you let me do that?" he nods and she kisses his forehead, allowing herself to trust Nate. Nate smiles slightly and hugs her before turning to look around, "Where are we??" He asks hugging Rico the Bunny. Ruffling Nates' blonde hair she looks at them and tilts her head.

"Yeah." Aeio said as she showed him her wrists, "The first thing we're going to do is find you a healer" As Taou landed and gave Aeio the clothes Aieo in turn handed them to Chessayia, "Put these on and Rena can fix you up." he said turning an walking a little ways into the woods, calling over his shoulder, "We won't look."

 

Scampering after Aeio Taou stared with awe at Aeio's muscular wings that were still unfolded. "Where did you go this time?" Taou asked Aeio excitedly. "Grizal." Aeio said looking down at Taou, "Do you know where that is?" Taou of course did not and shook his head, "Oh well it's down south, past the Rich Plains. It's located on the edge of the rainforest."

Taking Nate's hand she walks into the bushes with him. Helping him take his clothes off and change into the new clothes that surprisingly fit him well. "Go to them, tell them thank you okay??" He nods and runs off to go find them. She changes into the black pants and the purple shirt and actually they are way to big for her. She comes from the bushes with her old clothes under her left arm and Nate's under her right.

 

Nathaniel runs out of the bushes and looks at the two guys "Thank you!" He squeals and pokes their arms. He smiles slightly before closing his wings and having them morph under his skin again. Looking over he sees Chessay emerge and runs over to her, hugging her waist.

As Nathaniel ran out of the bushes Aeio smiled down at him and poked him back before he ran over to Chessayia. "Are you ready to go?" Aeio asked as he walked back into the clearing, Taou at his heels. "Can he fly?" Aeio asked gesturing to Nathaniel, the boy was young and probably hadn't had his wings for long.

Chessayia shakes her head no and picks Nate up. "Come on bud lets go." She spreads her large wings, each wing going out 24 ft. She flaps them and hops into the air, flapping them slightly she patiently waits for them to show her and Nate back to "Winged Keep". Her wings make a lot of noise as she beats the air with them.

 

Nate hugs Chessayia's neck and tucks his head into her neck. His bunny almost drops as she hops into the air. He yelps and grabs Rico before holding her's and his clothing along with Rico.

As Chessayia took off Aeio took in her full wingspan. It's huge he thought to himself as he took off after her, she's build for fighting. As he quickly reached Chessayia's side Aeio nodded towards the low lying span of brown and red that represnted the roofs of Windkeep. "That's where were headed." Aeio said as Taou joined them. Beating his wings slowly Aeio began the flight to Windkeep.

 

As Aeio flew obviously and obnoxiously slow Taou frowned, and then smiled widely. Backing up and soaring upwards Taou cracked his knuckles and shot off as fast as he could, narrowing his body and pulling his wings close to his side. As he shot past Aeio Taou called over his shoulder "Beat ya there!" before pulling up and flapping his wings as fast as they would go. Shooting into the distance as no one else could Taou yelled at the top of his lungs, "Oooooohhhhhh yeeeeaaaahhhhhh!"

Smirking she lets Nate Climb onto her back between her wings. "Hold on tight." Being the winged of the predatory bird she folds her wings slightly and shoots off after the smaller boy. Her wings flap gracefully as she swoops past him and barrels swiftly towards the ground. Her wings fold against Nate and she plunges to the ground before spreading her wide wings and gliding to the ground landing before either of them. Nate giggles and squeals happily as he hops from her back and holds her hand as she looks to the sky to look at the to boys, a smile on her beautiful features. Nate smiles big as he spreads his little wings and flaps them. "THAT WAS AWESOME!" He squeals.

"Hey!" Taou shouted as Chessayia barreled past him. Pulling up Taou watched as the girl gracefully landed, well she had certainly surprised him. As Aeio quickly flew past him almost as fast Taou scowled, now he was last!

 

As he landed Aeio stumbled because he was laughing so hard, "Ive - never seen - Taou - that - surprised - in a - very long - time." he managed to gasp before falling down and letting the laughter overcome him. He hadn't laughed in a very long time. After a few minutes Aeio finally pushed himself to his feet, biting his lip with tears slipping out of the corners of his eyes. As he looked up Aeio met Taou's glare and laughed again, "She really got you." Aieo said before turning to Chessayia, "You're definitely a Warrior" he said dusting off his t-shirt and reminding himself to change as soon as he got back to Windkeep, this one was falling apart at the seams. "But I;m not sure you could beat him in a flat-out race."

Laughing so hard she's in tears also at the boys laughing she glances at the boy called Taou. "Wanna race after my wrists are looked at?" She snickers and hugs Nate before pulling him up onto her shoulders, folding her large wings best she could. "Downside of my huge wings, They don't disappear...ever" She shrugs slightly and bounces in her spot, making Nathaniel squeal in delight. "And I don't think these clothes fit that well....or I'm Malnourished." She does remember being extremely light weight and skinny...a little to skinny for her age. Nate starts to try and braid her long hair but she can tell its going to be extremely tangled by the time he's done with it.

Frowning again Taou uncrosses his arms, "You'll be sorry when I take you up on that." Taou said letting a little smile play across his features, Taou was never one to stay mad for long.

"That must really suck." Aeio said glancing back at his own wings. He was an expert at hiding them seeing as he spent more time than any other winged around humans. For a minute Aeio wondered what it would be like to be wingless, Aeio had been born with his. "I can get you dome different clothes." he said, walking to the edge of the small clearing, "Windkeep is just past these trees." he called over his shoulder as he pushed through the undergrowth.

Hummm....

 

Rose's wings were a blur. She was practicing flying, something that she still wasn't very good at. She didn't mind the practicing; she enjoyed flying, and could imagine herself easily racing around the mountains. That sounded like fun. Of course, she wasn't supposed to practicing alone; she didn't know how to do it right, she'd get hurt, blah blah blah. Despite all of the warnings she received when she first got a Windkeep a few days ago, she had ignored decided to ignore them today. After all, what could really go wrong? She was hovering a few feet off the ground. Even if she fell, it wouldn't hurt, and no one could really teach her to fly. Hummingbird wings were very different from hawk or sparrow wings.

 

Experimentally, she tried flying backwards and forwards a bit. Quickly catching on, she started going faster and faster. Not too fast, of course- at least she didn't think that she was going too fast, until she crashed into a tree. Maybe that was what could go wrong. She almost fell to the ground, but recovered enough to slow her fall so that her feet touched the ground without making a sound before slowly bringing her beating wings to a stop.

 

"Ow..." she said, rubbing the spot on her forehead that had collided with the tree. That hurt. Maybe she should be more careful... or not. It wasn't like she had been seriously injured, and flying was fun. Plus, she didn't have anything better to do but pester someone until they agreed to watch her while she tried flying, and that would just mean that they would laugh at her smashing into trees instead of being helpful. Deciding to keep trying, Rose's jewel-bright wings started to hum again as they lifted her into the air.

Rena noticed the two newcomers. She stayed silent, though, when Aeio and Taou appeared. She nodded back to Aeio in greeting. When they started leaving, Rena quickly finished picking up the herb, before flying of with them. Up in Wind Keep, she turned to the two newcomers, Nathaniel and Chessayia.

"Greetings. My name is Rena. I am a Flyer, or a healer in other words. I will teach you two to fly skillfully and I heal your wounds." she continued glancing at Chessayia's wounds.

"I will tend to those. Let's go to the storage house, all the supplies are there. Then we can start the tour and introduce you to the people of ind Keep." Rena smiled a little.

 

((There's no hospital in Wind Keep. The Flyers work as doctors and such. ))
