This is the first time I'm posting a trade link, usually I'm the one offering, and apparently there's no way to tell if we got an offer, we have to check the trade page ?

I think it may be nice to have some kind of icon at the top of the scroll, as TJ did for sick eggs, so that people who tend to forget can be told immediately when they get an answer...

I searched in this forum, and apparently nobody is bothered by this ?

Just another fail of the horrible forum search. There's a thread here, and I still think it's one of many basic functionality improvements we desperately need.

It would be really helpful, because sometimes I forget about my trades and whatnot. Although, some people might not want to have the alert (because it's not always as urgent as sick eggs), so I think on the Account page somewhere, you should have an option to turn on or off this alert?

 

But this would be awesome.

Seems like a good idea to me. Of course, if your trade was accepted, you'll usually notice by the fact that some of your eggs and hatchlings have been replaced, but I still think all aspects would be rather handy. Especially the 'you have a new offer' one.

I would like to add to the OP that a message that your offer was rejected would be great.

 

I had made an offer on a trade and when I refreshed the page to see if the offer had been accepted, I found myself back on the "make offer" page. Thinking I may have done something wrong, I made the offer again. A while later, I refreshed the page again to see if the offer had been accepted, I was again kicked back to the make offer page. I can only think that this is what happens when your offer is rejected, but it would be so much better to see a message to that effect, so that you know what happened.

I would like to add to the OP that a message that your offer was rejected would be great.

Editted, with a link to your post, since you explained the reason so nicely! (I agree anyhow, but I'm sure someone will respond with "but you can see it's still on your scroll!" otherwise.)

 

Are there any other OP changes/updates that should be made, with the changes that have been made to teleport since the thread was created?

As someone kindly explained to me - you CAN tell if your offer was rejected - if it was, the actions page for whatever you offered opens up again. Also if you go to your "active teleport" page whatever you offered no longer shows up.

 

I wouldn't mind a message on the teleport page - but I don't see how you could put one on the egg/hatchie page, as you need to be able to get back to the actions. When I think about where to PUT such a message it begins to occur to me that the coding would be VERY difficult.

 

I liked the idea when I first saw it, but I don't know how it could work - just now, on the egg/hatchie page, as soon as it's rejected you get your actions back. What would happen in the in between time - the message awaits and you see it the first time you go to the dragon's page ? MAYBE on the teleport page it could be reasonably easily possible to have a list of (recent) rejected offers, but for some of us even that would get mighty long....

Would it be possible to have a notification every time you got a new offer on your telelink?

 

Kind of like this, the message would only appear on the http://dragcave.net/dragons page. (aka your scroll)

 

 

It can be optional, so closed for the people who don't want it. Hopefully its not too distracting or too hard to code for TJ.

 

This way people can do things on their scroll while waiting for a trade to come in? :3

=O I would love this. It was really handy during the Valentine's event, so it would be nice to see this appear in the cave. It would definitely make notifications of a trade easier.

I support this completely. ^.^ With it being optional, the only real reason not to is if it's too much a pain for TJ to code (as mentioned in the OP). I hope to see it implemented. <3

Anyway, if that block of text that says you got a new trade is too annoying, then maybe something even MORE subtle, like this tiny tiny icon that appears at the top corner of the scroll. I was thinking of a leetle email icon sprite, only except that would be like...totally not medieval and too modern. Perhaps a tiny scroll with an asterisk on it?

Pretty much what the title says. If it isn't too much trouble, I'd love to see a scroll notice when you receive an offer on a trade. Ideally, this would be accompanied with a link to the trade in question.

 

(A little notice that lets you know that a trade offer of yours has been accepted would be nice, too.)
