I'm wondering or it is possible to create some epic even gen checkers with them.
But than we have to agree with asking for only a few selected breeds to partner them with.

But the idea of Ember pairing is nice because of the desired Food of the Grave dragons, but it depends on the colouring. Otherwise I'ld like to have it paired with another FIRE breed.

You've got it right. Each Elemental dragon needs to be of an accepted breed, with all its ancestors also of accepted breeds and named with Element, Elemental, Elemint, 5E, or something of that nature that's recognizable as element. It does not matter if it's CB or lineaged, nor does it matter whether or not you intend to breed it. You can breed them any way/shape/size you want and as long as all the ancestors are Elemental breeds the children will continue to be Elemental eligible. Just collect and breed however you like and you'll usually pick up milestones along the way.

For Example:
This one is Elemental because she's CB of an accepted breed and named Elemental.
This one is also Elemental because all the ancestors are of accepted breeds and he is named Elemental.
This one is also Elemental for the same reasons, even though it's Grandparents do not have the Elemental names.
This one though, is not Elemental because it has a Dorsal as an ancestor.

Thanks for the clear examples and explanation Ivory biggrin.gif

Another question(ssss) |D I see mentions of forms for registering dragons and a spreadsheet. Do we have to announce every single Element dragon here through the forms? How often do we have to post the Element tracking form (form number 10), or is it just a personal way of tracking our dragons? Are we supposed to keep our own spreadsheet or is there like a combined/shared spreadsheet that we are supposed to keep updated?

I'm terrible with organisation things xd.png

Welcome! biggrin.gif

About registering dragons: we had a major systems overhaul earlier this year, from which we haven't quite recovered yet, which is why the first posts are still confusing. Sorry about that. tongue.gif

Every member gets their own spreadsheet to register their own dragons. (Simply because we have way too many dragons for a single spreadsheet.)
We also have a Master Sheet, which, among other things, is supposed to combine the relevant data from all members, so we can do overall-statistics (which isn't working yet).
So the "registration Forms" you've been reading about are spreadsheet forms. We don't announce dragons here on the thread anymore (unless they're special or pretty or we want to show them off for whatever reason tongue.gif) but register them directly to the spreadsheets.

However, for new members we have a New Members Spreadsheet, to which they can add their dragons. I'm sending you a PM with the link to the spreadsheet and registration form for it. So you can play around and learn how to use the spreadsheet. smile.gif
If you decide to stick with us and become an active member, you'll get your own spreadsheet and I'll transfer the stuff you already registered into it. This usually happens after 2 months of being an active member (which is also when you get eligible for shiny drawings). smile.gif

As for how often or when you register, that's entirely up to you. There are milestones you can earn, and you won't earn them without registering the relevant dragons. But since you have to name them elementally before you can register them, many of us are quite behind on registering, and nobody minds. Register when you get around to it and feel like it, and claim milestones as you come to them. smile.gif

The Element tracking form (form number 10) is completely optional. smile.gif

And i promise, it all looks more complicated than it really is. tongue.gif

QUOTE (Pink467 @ Nov 5 2013, 05:34 PM)
I also have AMAZING news for members who have been active the past 2 months.  I was able to broker a deal with aangs-sister (with Fiona's glowing endorsement of our lineage smile.gif ) for 2nd gen Elemental commons/uncommons from her Grave spirter alts!  I'm waiting to see them before I pick a mate for myself, but please post/PM your mate requests by Sunday the 10th to ensure your place on the list.  Please make sure not to request metal, tinsel, shimmer, or coppers.  If we request something she doesn't have, we will be responsible for getting a gendered CB hatchie mate to her for it.  Also, please bring patience, as it will take a LONG time to get through everyone on the list.

ACTIVE MEMBERS:
1.  rrattts - male white
2.  Grandmother_cathie - male white
3.  Pink467 - female white
4.  Fiona BlueFire - on hold
5.  silver_chan - male tan ridgewing (will take either color egg)
6.  deblogan - male gold wyvern
7.  Zeldarax - male ember
8.  Roekerd - male ember
9. Husker - female bleeding moon
10. Lastalda - male white
11. IvoryDragon432 - female ember
12. Valkiepoo - male purple nebula
13. airaani - male purple nebula
14. Lavinia - will pick later
15. Xocowolf - ember
16. Takhesis - female hellfire

snipped and bumped

ETA: available milestones
CB blue opal x FIVE (my crew still hasn't figured out the green ones aren't in the alpine tongue.gif , putting these in the trio category today to get rid of them)
ER 2nd gen silver hatchie x green nebula (influenced female http://dragcave.net/lineage/Sh41r)
ER CB water walker hatchie
CB night glory hatchie

Oooh, I think I want my baby to come from Male Tan Ridgewing and Female Grave dragons! I don't care if they give me a Tan or a Purple Ridgy, but that pairing will look so good together~

I'd love to go with a white male and an alt Female. I think the male nebula is beautiful, but I'd hate it if the egg turned green!

I love the alt colors!!!

They look nice smile.gif

I can use one or more Blue Opals, they are hard to catch for me wink.gif

I have some Trio milestones left, some from a few years ago:
*Members with 50 dragons in a single Elemental category* (Water) - CB female ice
*Members with 25 Elements of a single breed* (water) - CB ice

I think I'd like F grave x M white best.

Purple ridgewing would also probably look awesome, but I'd be afraid of getting a tan. tongue.gif
But with all the colors of the alt, something less colorful seems a good complement. smile.gif

So, I was bothering Lastalda via PM with more queries, and the question of how activity is gauged came up. Is it gauged based on active thread participation and/or by lineage activity?

I'm not very active forum-wise nowadays. PMs will definitely reach me and I reply ASAP, but I do not really browse threads much. I tend to go off and work on lineages in the background (and I plan to keep up-to-date with registering dragons as much as possible) and only check in with the thread once in a while (and I do mean a long while) probably only to show off a pretty or something xd.png;;

This, however, does not mean that I won't make an effort to check the thread more if advised to do so tongue.gif

My opinion on this is that for getting her own spreadsheet, it should be completely sufficient that we see dragons being registered into the New Members spreadsheet. If spark still does that after 2 months, then I'm absolutely happy making her her own.

But as for shiny drawings, I don't know (which is why we've brought it here to discuss). I suppose if someone's not watching the thread, they're usually going to miss the shiny drawings, anyway, so the issue should basically take care of itself. But maybe there is one going on when she does look into the thread. So, do we require 2 months of thread activity for these, or is registering dragons sufficient?

Any opinions?

I would say either should work, though we aren't going to see participation very well if she isn't posting in the thread at all. Active participation means actually doing something with the lineage, right? So registering dragons with the lineage is active participation in my book. I think there are rewards for actively participating in the thread too though.

I agree with Fiona. If she is registering dragons regularly, which I know can be hard to do sometimes, I would consider that active participation. And if she adds to the thread, then that's great too. Just my 2 cents.

Welcome, sparkdragon!
