I don't know if that's already available, but it would be nice. Edit: I would like to see who's online by looking next to their name in their post. Sometimes names don't show up in the "who's online" list. I've checked for myself, and I don't show up some times.

If the name doesn't show up, it's probably because they're set to anonymous and don't want to show as online.
(though I know AOL also occasionally does odd things to the online listing)

I've set myself to show up as online, because I like to trade and trade often. I want to make it as easy as possible for people to know I'm online and available.

I can see how this idea would be useful - trading, if you need to contact a mod, gifting, ect - but you can always go look at the bottom of the forum page and check there, too. :3

I've used that often; it would be misleading to mark I was offline, but marking online would make the option pointless.

After all, if you choose to be invisible, you also won't appear in the list on the bottom of the forum. For all anyone knows, that could mean you're offline as well rather than just invisible.

But the thing is sometimes you don't show up. I've noticed a few times when I myself didn't show up there and I have myself marked to show my online status.

Just like Ryukotsusei said, I'd imagine. On other sites I've been on, if you have yourself listed as "anonymous" then you'll just show up as offline all the time, IIRC.
