I like the idea of having a badge for collecting a certain number of commons. It'd be really cool if it were 42!
Honestly, it would probably be more like 100 or something around there.

An "I-collected-all-the-dragons" one. I thnk the idea has already been said.

The main badges that I'd like to see added are more like gold/silver/bronze. I'd like to see a few more with higher requirements (1000, 2000) for people who have reached their gold trophies to aim towards.

Can't be done, really. I can never have a bright pink, for a start. *sobs*

Many who joined after I did can never have a frill - I made it under the wire. And what happens when there is a new release - do you lose the badge till you get one ?

Maybe a badge for going so long without having any dragons die?

A badge for naming all your dragons, I guess.
A badge for having a perfect ratio of male and female dragons without using influence! Well, that would be very hard...

A badge for everything that's currently obtainable?

Probably been suggested, but what about a Dino Cave Badge? Its been said else where on the forums, I know that much.

What would you get it for? For logging in on April 1st 2012? Or for signing up at Dino Cave? Or for asking for the password via mail?

I'm not really keen on a badge for having the retired dragons on your scroll. The way I see it, actually having them is the prize, you don't need something else in addition.

I'd love to have a dino cave badge though! Even if it's just a little dino egg or something. I'm not sure if it would go to people who logged in on April 1st or ones that requested the email notification... I'd be fine with either, I did both. But either way I'd love a badge for this.

Also, a Dino Cave/April 1st badge would be nice, like the Carrot Cave badge, nothing special, just a little reminder of the event.

This. I already have the retired breeds and I know plenty of people sad over the fact that they can't. It just kinda seems like rubbing it in to also get a badge. 3=

Eh, I feel it's too late now to grant an April 1st/DinoCave badge. Plus, the site may possibly perhaps maybe become real in the future, anyway. ^^

I hope this post finds you well.

I was thinking you know when you collect dragons you get a little statue saying what grade you are e.g. more than 150 dragons - bronze. Do you think we could have more levels of these.

The reason i ask is that as more breeds of dragon come in to the cave it will be easier to achive the gold dragon so can we have others like Platinum, Ruby, Onyx titainium, opal. There could be new dragons to reflect these as well.

This way people would be acheiving more and it might add more intrest to the game. Also instead of one staue showing why now have a cabit icon and click that and have all the icons in there. e.g. valentines, halloween evens etc, etc.

Any feed back more than welcome.

Something that groups all the badges and stuff you have at the top into one page, like how clicking on the Easter basket takes you to your Easter eggs. Less clutter?

~A platinum and diamond trophy for having higher numbers of dragons (1000? 2000? 5000?) {TJ has stated these trophies would not come with upped limits}

~A badge for having a certain number of summon!fails (25? 50? 100?)

~Badges for hitting milestones in membership to DC (1 year, 2 years, etc)
-Would have to be based on oldest dragon's catch date

I like these three a lot.
I think most of the others would alter gameplay too much because people would feel pressured to play a certain way in order to receive the badge. And I'm saying this as a person who would receive many of these purposed gameplay badges because I do happen to play that way. But I don't want anyone to feel pressured to play my way.

Perhaps these badges could have levels, and each increased level instead of representing a number of dragons towards a goal would instead say the user had all the required dragons available in a particular year.

That way the badges would be like 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and the 2012 one would not be available until the end of the year (since all the dragons for 2012 haven't been released yet).


EDIT: These could either be separate badges, or else you'd have to collect the 2007 one before you could get the 2008 one.
I like the separate badges version, personally, as this wouldn't keep people stuck on one particular year because they couldn't obtain (or didn't want to obtain) a specific breed of dragon.
That said, it would be too much clutter for multiple badges unless there was a single icon to click that would then show all the years you had collected.

I'd also separate out the regular versus the holiday dragons, it's one thing to get a 2007 holiday badge (as the only holiday dragon required for this is the elusive Holly, unless the zombie and/or neglected are added), it's another thing entirely to not have a 2007 badge because of a lack of a Holly. It'll be tough enough earning that 2007 version because it would require a gold, silver, (and potentially a neglected and zombie).

In addition, I'd remove any unobtainable dragons from the requirements. It's not fair to require players to obtain dragons they can no longer obtain in order to get a badge. This isn't an "I was here on this particular day" badge, after all, it's a badge for being a collector of all things currently collectible.

It would also be nice if the badge were hard-coded in such a way that once you earned it you would not lose it. This way someone who cannot stand a particular breed but wanted to collect all the badges could raise a dragon of the breed and then later release it.

I like this, though you could end up with quite a lineup of "Year" badges, but given that it'd take a year to add each new one, that may not be an issue.

I do like that take on it though, as it does solve the whole you-lose-it-each-time-something-new-is-released thing.

I really like the idea of year badges. However, I'd like them appear if you have all dragons from that year with the exception of holidays, GoN and retired breeds. Why? Because you can grab holidays only once each year, and especially the holly dragon is incredibly hard to get. And there are people who've been summoning for 2 years without success. Not giving them the year badge for 2010 because of that would be like salt in an open wound. And retired breeds - well, you can't get them at all, period.
