ARK is by forum members, for forum members and groups. Forum moderators have no say in ARK nominations or awards. If a moderator wants to nominate, they have to abide by the same guidelines and rules as everyone else. Hey Everyone We would like to introduce our new 2 awards: The awesome new ARK LISTED award created for us by Sif 
And our new beautiful Honorable Mention Star created for us by Whispyr. An Honorable Mention Star is given to someone who has already received the award, when they are nominated again. 
Thank you to both of these wonderful and very generous members. Permissions and limitations for use of the artwork: Please do not alter the artwork in any way except for resize. We were very lucky to be given the beautiful artwork and don't want anything to jeopardize us using it. Altering is doing any changes such as adding or changing words or fonts (styles of the print), using the art in any other way than for ARK only, or changing any part of the actual picture. This would include changing the colors, changing the pose, adding, subtracting, or changing any of the text. Please do not use the ARK artwork as part of another picture, this is copyright infringement. All ARK artwork (badges, buttons, and banners) remain copyright to the artists and is used by ARK with their permission. An option for ARK Honorable Mention Members put together by Shichibi and generously shared for other Honorable Mention Members to use if they would like   Welcome, one and all, to the official Acts of Random Kindness thread. The idea of this thread is to bring together a community of individuals that constantly helps one another out in small ways, more often then not without ever being recognized for them. It is a way for us to put forth the names of those who have helped us without asking for anything in return. RULES UPDATED on 9/3/12 These are just some basic rules of thumb to remember!  No Drama! All nominations must be PMed to count. Please title your nominations with the persons username that you are nominating. Nominations may be posted here publicly only if the PM box of ARK is full. We may not see them here on a regular basis. No begging to be nominated. You need to earn the nomination. If you are nominating about a surprise, you must be the receiver of said surprise. If someone is on the list but still performed a random act of kindness, you can still post about their act of kindness as long as it passes the qualifications. Try to keep chat and grats to a minimum. There is a Congratulations thread where you can congratulate people there. If you are newly listed on ARK, don't forget to check on the congrats thread too!  If you make it onto the ARK list, you will be PMed the Symbol of ARK and may use it on your sig to show you did a good random deed for someone and was acknowledged for it. If you use the Symbol of ARK award and have not been officially recognized on the list, you may be grey or blacklisted and any future chances at winning the award may be compromised.Qualifications We of the ARK Team compiled a list of things that do and do not qualify for nominations to make it easier for us and for you. Please read these very carefully. If something you have in mind is not listed on either one, feel free to send in the nomination, which it will be discussed amongst the team. A list of things that do qualify: Randomly gifting an egg to someone when they didn't ask for it. Surprise replacement of gifts or trades that are lost due to time restraints during holiday breeding are allowed. The nominee catches a holiday egg and randomly gifts it to someone and they aren't apart of a catching group. Contacting and returning an accidentally auto abandoned egg caught in the AP. The nominee surprises someone by making them a banner, avatar, scroll image, etc. for their signature, etc. when they didn't ask or know the nominee was going to make them one. Randomly, out of the blue doing a good deed to brighten someones day or helping someone that needs help in the forum or DC. (Not someone that is affiliated with the Mentoring Project, or during a trading situation.)A list of things that DO NOT qualify:  Nominating yourself or a family member. The nominee returning an accidentally abandoned egg caught in the AP after you asked them for it back. (does not count) We mean after you actually messaged the person and had to ask for it's return. Allowing a catcher to use your scroll will not be rewarded. Any nomination involving a catcher will be ignored. This is neither legal in the game nor is it random. Anything from The Giving Tree or game-like topics. We do NOT consider that during and/or directly after a trade if you are given more of the same dragon, OR given the trade dragon as a gift, it to be a random act. Since you are in a trading situation with the person and they know you are seeking the dragon and/or you have asked for it directly from them we feel their gift to you to be wonderfully kind and generous but NOT random. Having a wish list or egg request in your signature or profile is asking for an egg, thus when a wish is fulfilled it is not random. An ARK award will not be given as a reward for fulfilling a request from a wish list. If you require a reward for a gift or return, this turns it into a trade which is not valid for the ARK award. A mentor teaching the nominator about Dragon Cave. ONLY Moderators may nominate groups. If you think a group deserves an ARK award, you should contact a global mod with your request telling the mod why the group should be awarded an ARK. The mod can then judge the request to nominate the group.How To Nominate If you feel your nominee qualifies for a nomination by you, here's a few simple steps on how to nominate someone via PM! Step 1: To start a PM to Acts of Random Kindness, you can either click the PM button at the bottom of a post done by ARK, go to the profile for ARK and click Private Message, or go to your Inbox, click Compose Message, then type Acts of Random Kindness in the space where you are to enter a name. Step 2: Once the PM is set up, click the empty Message Title box and type in the name of the person you are nominating. Step 3: Click the big blank space. This is where you will type up your nomination. Include the name of the person you are nominating, what they did that was a random act of kindness, and perhaps a link to show where this occurred(this last bit is optional). Be sure to proof read your nomination to make sure its good enough for us to understand, even if your english isn't very good. Step 4: Scroll down and simply click send! And there ya have it! Wow, I was perplexed to find the ARK message in my inbox this morning!
 It took my brain a few seconds to realise what it was, being so unfamiliar with the thought of ever being given the honour of being given membership of ARK.I am very humbled and I don't really feel like I belong in here. *blushes and squirms shyly* But, I thank the people who nominated me as well as the ARK committee for deciding to grant me membership of ARK.
