Edit: Looks like this topic got moved, anyways.

In the Turpentine thread it was stated that:
QUOTE
They are not coded to refuse. It is apparently not a glitch that they are doing so. Some breeds simply don't like each other, and apparently these don't get along. at all. ever. apparently.

Implying that breeds are not coded to refuse but simply don't like specific breeds for some reason. While this in itself is rather contradictory, I'll focus on the main point of that statement and ask which other breeds have natural refusals to others? I've seen breeding "droughts" but never anything like the Turpentines are experiencing, but the above sentence makes it seem like more than just the Turps have this disability? Does anyone have examples of other breeds that don't ever like each other, or is this a new feature that was coded in?

**Note**

Specific Turpentine breeding results can be found here. Breeding results of newly released breeds can be found here. This is not meant to be a duplicate of the other threads. This is a genuine question as to what other breeds have near 100% refusal rates with a certain breed (specifically refusals). Please do not post results of one or two refusals out of many successful pairings. This is meant to figure out which breeds will almost always refuse with another.

You can find your last 10 refusals here. Notice a pattern? Any info is appreciated!

Speculated "almost always" refusals:
Turpentine x Moonstone
Turpentine x Ridgewing
Turpentine x Bronze / Silver / Gold Tinsel
Turpentine x Guardian
???

What I'd like to know is how breeds can not be coded to refuse certain breeds yet still have high refusal rates since everything is coding. -___-

That annoyance aside, I feel like Water x Red used to have high refusal rates, but I could be wrong.

Silvers and Stones used to refuse. Later on, I'm not sure why, that changed and they were able to breed with each other. That's the only one that I can think of.

I just tried this myself, Red x Water, and got a refusal.

The first time I tried and accidentally did Water x Water, and that got a refusal too! Holy carp, maybe I'm not the best person to be trying this out. Everything I own is refusing! =X

I did Waterhorse x Neotropical too, but that one gave me an egg. Hmm.

lol Maybe you're not, because I just tried and got a Water egg on the first try. Maybe my dragons kidnapped your Purples.

Red x Water, first try, Water Egg - proof

Waterhorse x Neotropical, first try, Neo Egg - proof

So don't think these have high refusal rate. laugh.gif

Hah yeah, and I see the water eggs on your guys' scrolls as proof. Guess that means Turps are still alone in their unusually extreme refusal rates, hmm.

Re: Red/Water

I just bred all four of my waters with reds, out of curiosity.

Mizuryuu (male water) x Crim's Dragon (female red) = Water egg
Milue (female water) x The All-Consuming Blaze (male red) = Water egg
Aqua the Centurion of Water (female water) x Red the Smoking Death (male red) = Water egg
Undine Summon Spirit of Water (female water) x Honorable Flames (male red) = refusal.

Out of past breedings (going by the children links, unsure if others were bred then died, don't have records of that):

Mizuryuu x released Red male = Red egg (bred June 29, 2011)
Mizyryuu x Crim's Dragon = Water egg (bred Aug. 31, 2011)
Milue x The All-Consuming Blaze = Water egg (bred Aug. 31, 2011)

I've not had any other refusals besides the one.

Additionally:

The All-Consuming Blaze is 2nd gen from a Red father x Water mother pair. (bred Jan. 13, 2010)
Roaring Fires of Destruction (red male) is a 3rd gen with a Red mother born from a Red father x Water mother (bred March 6, 2009)

I have a suggestion to the thread: why don't you use the http://dragcave.net/reject and post the last 10 refusals of each player? This way we can watch what is random and what is not.
Don't know if it will work because of the rares, but it is a starter, isn't it?

Edited: my examples (last 10 refusals):

Vine X Vine
Pink X Moonstone
Silver X Guardian
Heartseeker X Red
Purple X White
Sweetling X Red
Vine X Tinsel (gold)
Red X Silver
White X Silver
Red X Silver

When I started stones would refuse each other.

When Geodes were introduced that was changed- obviously.
So, I do believe that breeds can be and are indeed coded to refuse each other, plus it is implied in the Turpentines description. Over time we'll figure out which ones- if we haven't already wink.gif

It's a useful idea, although my entire list is currently dominated by Turpentine refusals, lol.
This thread was originally in Help so I wasn't planning on having it be a compilation of latest refusals, but it seems like a good idea to add that link to the OP.

Edited the OP to try and make it less of a "post your refusals" and more of a "do you always get refusals from x dragon?"

It was working just a moment ago, I'm not sure what happened.

And it appears to be back now.

My last ten refusals are all turpentine x ridgewing pairs that I was systematically throwing at each other in various permutations in the name of science. *brave face*

Kind of wish I hadn't done that, since I think they look gorgeous together.

Oh well, none of that offspring will coming from my scroll, then. \o/ I'll survive. Never been much of a breeder anyway. laugh.gif
