my guess is that their gonna be like the Two-Heads and only breed with others of their species *nods*

not that it's gonna be hard to get an egg from them at all

That's my thought as well.

I cant like many spend all day on the site. (Though I wish I could)

Kind regards Me

I was able to catch one in the morning, but it seems nearly impossible now. However, I will try to catch a second one. I want to have at least two, one for each gender.

Sorry - it isn't just your connection. I know several people who have lightning fast connections who aren't managing. It will settle down - they are (apparently) permanent additions, after all.

Moi, I am still locked sad.gif

Unlocked and picked up two on the 5's ( rather shocked myself)

I haven't decided whether or not to get more now-- or when I unlock again dry.gif

or wait until I see what they look like-- rather hoping for a dark colored dragon- like embers

if they really do get refused a lot ,I can see having a large population on my scroll-- at least until I get a pair to breed for my mixed marrow project

and no I do not have a fast connection-- my computer rates itself as C-

Meh, if that's the case then I'm really not too excited about them. I like lineages and having a variety in them. If they are just breed-able amongst themselves then I can't see myself collecting too many of them. Same with the Splits, Drakes, and Pygmies.

But I'm going to wait until we know for sure. I'd be much happier if they were just really picky breeders.

As for the people saying they can't get eggs. Turn off Java and Images while hunting. It really makes a difference. The first time I tried, I left them on and only managed to get one egg. The next hour, I turned them off and locked myself with eggs.

If that doesn't work, try hunting in Safe Mode with networking.

Asking other people to not pick up eggs isn't going to help you one bit.

Yay! New eggs! I've been waitingwaitingwaitingwaiting! Thank you, T.J.!

So his eggs are presently at 6 days 13 hours. Does this mean we have to wait a few days for the hatchlings? I'm used to finding out about the new release just in time to see his hatchlings! The anticipation will kill me! xd.png

Haven't read any comments yet, gearing up for the next drop since I only just found out about the release, but I really wish this wasn't another Alpine release. Alpine already has a higher turn over rate than the forest, jungle and especially the coast. The coast desperately needs something to raise interest.

This is not to say that I am looking a gift horse in the mouth. I am excited that there's a new species, I just think that it's a slight downer that it was dropped in Alpine. I always see more hunters there than in any of the other biomes already.

Please don't throw too many stones! sad.gif

My sentiments as well. I don't collect hoard dragons that aren't able to interspecies breed. They will most breed like splits and the drakes but in the breeding list, other species will be shown as available, but if I am not wrong, TJ indicated in IRC that the turpentines are coded to refuse other breeds.

I agree with you about 'Why another Alpine species?', there're already a bazillion people hunting there for all the other goodies - how about spreading them around some??

The fact that they are so long till they hatch is unusual for TJ, usually when he posts them they are almost ready to hatch. I hope he does reduce their time till hatching, for right now as it stands my own will hatch before his do since mine are incubated.

I was surprised that they were released in the alpine, I was honestly expecting these to be a desert species, but I am happy they are released either way(yes, I recognize these).

lol!... I figured out a technique and I managed to get 4 of em damn quick.

I bet it's close to the same technique I just used to scroll lock myself with 4 of the new eggs biggrin.gif I have 2 other eggs, but since one is a male influenced pink egg, and the other is a flamingo (and I don't have one yet) I can't drop them. I'm content with my 4 though.

Well that doesn't make too much sense. If they are coded to refuse any other dragon but they still show up on other dragons' breeding list, I can see a lot of confusion happening.

But like I said, I will wait until we know for sure what is going on with these guys until I take out my pitchforks. tongue.gif
