Seoni stepped over and steadied him, before steadying the melon-weighted ball on top.
"You're doing well, just hang on." she mumbled to him.

Rubael bit his lip, feeling his muscles screaming at him to just drop the darn things, but he didn't.The wood elf closed his eyes, staid like that for a moment, then chaos happened. his left shoulder suddenly gave out and with a grunt of pain he fell over, the metal balls slipping out of his grasp...

The king looked disappointed. "You are strong, but not as such to lift. Are you specialized?" he barked. Seoni looked pretty impressed, he had held out longer than she had.

Rubael held his shoulder and nodded. "I'm an archer, sir" he replied as he pushed up on his shoulder, poping it back into place with a wince.

The king nodded for Seoni to fix him up. "You might serve well then. Be on your way." He waved them off and Seoni patted his back to urge him along. "You did well. You'll survive and you're eligible for picking a wife."

Rubael held his shoulder and walked along with Seoni, glancing at her as she spoke. "a wife?" he asked, sounding slightly surprised for he had never really though that he'd ever get merried... mostly because he never knew if he was going to live though each day let alone through the war...

"Yes. Eventually you'll want one. We could probably get someone from your homeland once we win." Seoni said arrogantly.

at that Rubael's ears flicked back and he cenched his jaw, but he did not reply, for fear of saying something that he might regret.

Seoni noticed she hit a nerve and remembered it.

"You need anything? Food, drink, medicine?" She asked.

Rubael shrugged. he loosened his jaw but his ears still staid pulled back against his red hair. "I'm a bit thirst and tired but that's it" he replied, not looking at her as he inwardly tried to calm down. her comment having sturred up an already deep set anger...

"There's water in my room. Let me see your shoulder when we get there." She pat his spine, not wanting to touch his injured shoulder just yet. "You impressed my father by popping it back you know. Most of the new slaves just sit there with an injury."

"being an archer you get a lot of popped shoulders... just usually they arn't that bad" he told her. "I knew that leaving it like that would just make it worse"

"I can fix it up still." she waited for him to open the door do her. He was new, you would learn eventually.

Rubael blinked as he realized that they had stopped. he blinked at Seoni then glanced at the door and sighed slightly, reaching forward with his good arm to push it open.

Seoni looked at him appreciatively, and got her medicine for him. "C'mere, it's warm as well, help with the sore muscles."

Rubael came over and glanced around.

The unbuttoned the back of his shirt and put the warm cloth on his injured shoulder. "You still nervous? You're safe, I promise."

Rubael glanced back at hr then he sighed and finally allowed himself to fully relax, his muscles untensing and making it easier for the warm cloth to sooth his shoulder. "its hard not to be nervious..."

"Why? Do I scare you?" Seoni removed the cloth and laid her cheek where it used to be. "You have no need to be afraid of me here. Tell me where else you hurt."

Rubael started slightly as she rested her cheek on his shoulder but he answered her, glancing back at her. "I've got a bruise on my back and a cut on my side but that's it" he told her, his ears tilting back yet again, showing that he was still a bit nervious.
