Posted July 22, 2011 I LOVE the sunstones!!!! .......... however is that a typo in the moonstone description????? Moonstone dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their obs. They seem to glow in with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moon's power. =\ but other than that I love them too!!! Share this post Link to post

Posted July 22, 2011 I appreciate all the love the moonstones have gotten. yes they are a year old, I'm sorry... I did them all by myself this time. The hatchlings are NOT blobs though..that's their butts facing you. They're MOONING you <.< I like puns. I know there are so many better sprites out there..so much better art.. but please don't call my sprites 8-bit. I happen to be very proud of them. This is my first nonholiday release. Rejoice that you have new dragons. And be happy that you've kept one of the old artists who used to have like half the sprites on the progress list. I didn't leave you for the new sprite jobs that pay me now. Or just toss you when you forgot and hated me. I still continue to provide free art, sprite AND other graphics for this site. Posted July 22, 2011 Of the two dragons, I like the Moonstone breed the best. I think the colors are very nice. The hatchies look a bit weird, but I think the end result makes looking at'em worth it. One complaint I have are the things (feathers?) that are floating near the adults. In all honesty, I think they take away from the sprite. The males tail also seems to be a bit long, and too thin towards the end. Also, it would seem to me that, being that they have those gems on the ends of their tails, that their tails would be thick at the very end, before the gem, to support its weight. Like on the female Moonstone. The tails on the male Moonstone and the Sunstone both thin at the end before the gem, which makes it look like it'd be difficult for them to move their tails. The Sunstone especially. It looks rather odd. Still, I'm happy that I have new additions to my scroll. The sprites are very good, despite the complaints I have. (: My two cents. x3 - Tyto. Posted July 22, 2011 I really like both of the new dragon types. Orange is my favorite color, so to get more orange eggs and dragons with orange is awesome!! Marionetta, I believe, said once that she looks back on some of her old work and cringes, because it was not what her current art is. But that's the point of continuous practice and perfection. And thank you for not ditching us, even those who have no trouble speaking their mind on what they think of your work. For those of us who can't even draw a stick figure, you are still among the Michaelangelos. I absolutely ADORE the Moonstones <3 Not only do they somewhat share a name with me (I go by Moonie EVERYWHERE and some of my friends call me that in lieu of my real name), but they are beautiful with adorable hatchlings that crack me up. I realized right away that they were mooning us. Honestly, the Moonstones rank up as my second favorite, right behind the Nebulae. I fully intend to have an ARMY of them, adults and especially hatchlings, soon enough! -evil laugh- Seriously, I think some people need to lighten up and not be so critical/insulting of a new dragon. There are people who worked very hard to sprite them, and TJ liked them enough to implement them and let everyone have the chance of adding them to their scroll. I think people forget that it's OKAY to just say "no thanks" or "thank you, but I just don't like them personally" instead of insulting them and picking them apart and being ungrateful because they just happened to not like this release. If you hate them, fine, just go get your adult pair or whatever you like to do to fill out your scroll, and move on. There will be more new dragons!
