Things You Need to Know:

• Roleplays in any section of the of the RP Section of DC will be deleted if there has been no activity within those RPs. In the ‘Dragon Cave Role Plays’ and ‘Other Role Plays’.
• If you see someone posting spam in any of the RP sections, use the report function and leave it be. Answering to spam is only adding spam.
• OoCC (Out of Character Comments) must be relevant to the roleplay, otherwise, they will be deemed as spam (unless it is accompanied by something on-topic, which is longer than the irrelevant content).
• If someone is breaking the rules of your roleplay or the forums and is not listening to you, please use the report function and give us a small little summary of what is going on. If that doesn’t work, PM a roleplay moderator and one will come and handle the situation when he or she has time.

The Rules of the RP Section:
All rules will be explained in more detail below.

• All the 'Rules of Dragon Cave' apply.
• No advertising.
• Only bump a topic once every 24 hours of the last post.
• Do not spam roleplays.
• Use constructive criticism.
• Respect each other.
• Only post in unapproved roleplays if you have something constructive to add. All other posts are considered spam.
• Only 1 RP per RPer in the Unapproved Section.
• Do not Plagiarize.
• Kicks should be handled privately.

Rules on OoC Threads
There are many people who seem to be confused as to what is acceptable in an OoC thread, and what isn’t. Take all things that is not accepted in OoC threads to PMs. Allow us to clarify.

Acceptable

• Character sheets
• Plot discussion
• Updates
• Critiques, and questions concerning actions taken in the RP, the setting, or about the RP in general
• Summary of events
• Comings and goings (though replies to these are not)

Not Accepted

• Small posts with no relevance to the RP (ex. I edited, your turn, gtg, had a great day, etc.)
• Chatting with friends – CPA is available to everyone for that
• Discussing DC events, avatars, or any other irrelevant topic
• OoC roleplay of your character

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

If you have OoC before an RP post, and your RP post is larger than the OoC, everything is okay. You will not get warned as your RP post is on topic. =)

All the 'Rules of Dragon Cave' Apply
The rules of dragon cave can be found here. These apply to everyone, and everyone should be more than familiar with them. Saying that you don't know them is not an excuse when warned. By joining the Dragon Cave Forums, you automatically accept all of them.

No Advertising
Please do not advertise for another roleplaying site in the roleplay section. Advertisements do not apply to this section and because they are not roleplays, they will be deleted.

You Can Only Bump a Topic Every 24 Hours
When the topic falls to another page, or lower down the first page, you’re only allowed to bump it (meaning, post an irrelevant post [called ‘bump’] to send your RP back to the top of the unapproved section) once every 24 hours of the last post. Share the attention! Deleting your bump and bumping it again the same day is against the rules as well.

Post at Least Four Sentences Per RP Post
We ask you to post four sentences because that ensures that you are adding something to the roleplay. It also ensures that the person with whom you are roleplaying can find something to reply to. Each sentence should contain more than 3 words. It’s really not that tough!

Do Not Spam RPs
Spamming a roleplay, whether in the unapproved section or the RP sections, will result in warns. Spam is against board rules and things that can be considered spam are: off topic posts, double posting to get attention before the 24 hour mark (or to raise your post count), inappropriate posts, chatting…

Use Constructive Criticism
When looking over someone’s roleplay, please keep in mind that they’ve taken time to create it. It’s their work. It isn’t enjoyable to have your effort torn apart after hours of working on it. If you see any errors, you may point them out; however, don’t be rude about it and insult some while doing it. If you want, offer ideas on how the roleplay can be improved but be conscious that there is a person on the other side of the screen.

Respect Each Other
I cannot stress this enough. Always treat others with respect even if you don’t like them. Negativity only leads to more negativity.

Only Post in Unapproved Roleplays if You Have Something Constructive to Add
The Unapproved Section is where roleplays get reviewed by peers, approvers, and moderators. If there is a large amount of conversation in a roleplay, approvers will often assume that there is already an approver there. This is not a place to discuss how great a RP will be, nor is it a place to say how much you can’t wait for it to be approved. Keep all character reservations to PMs while the roleplay is in the unapproved section. Comments such as “this looks amazing” doesn’t help improve the roleplay and only adds to the chatter.

Only 1 RP per RPer in the Unapproved Section
The approval system can be very low at times, and having more than one RP awaiting approval by the same person doesn’t help speed things up. If you post a second RP, the newest of the two RPs will be closed. If you want to close a previous RP, PM a moderator and we’ll get to it promptly.

Do Not Plagiarize
The definition of plagiarism according to dictionary.com:

Plagiarism is not acceptable on DC. If you are caught stealing another persons' work without their permission, you shall be punished accordingly. Don't take other's plots, characters, or posts, and claim them as your own. When using information from another site that doesn’t belong to you, please state your source and give them proper credit.

Kicks Should be Handled Privately
It's a sad fact that kicks are inevitable in a RP, but since they tend to be touchy matters, all kicks should be discussed through PM. Publicly announcing a kick will result in a warn, as it is both rude and incites drama. Also, the fewer who know the RPer was kicked, the better. Avoid discussing it with other users unless it is absolutely necessary or they are the RPer being kicked. OPs are allowed to announce the fact a person has left the RP in the case of a kicking incident BUT they cannot say or hint at the circumstances behind it. Leave the reasons unenumerated or come up with a suitable excuse that is agreeable to the kickee.

About the DC RPs
The Dragon Cave Roleplays section is a place where you can roleplay with your dragoncave dragons! ^____^ You must first post in the unapproved section to get your roleplay moved here, however. So be certain that your roleplay has the minimum requirements of that section.

If your roleplay has to do with dragons, but it isn’t DC dragons centered, it goes into the other RP section. Apparently clans go here as well. >>. Heh. Since chat threads aren’t allowed, it makes it difficult to add clans. ^^; Sorry about that!

Can I post my scroll/dragon eggs/hatchlings/etc here?
No. ^^ Posting your scroll and eggs on this forum is against the rules at the moment. There may be a thread for such posting popping up in another part of the forum at some point in the far future, but for now, having a link to your scroll anywhere but in your signature counts as spam. Eggs and hatchlings are not allowed in your scroll at all.

Do I have to roleplay with the dragons on my scroll?
Some roleplays will enforce it, others will not. If all you have is an egg, just take a dragon that is a DC dragon that you like, and roleplay it! Remember though, we can’t all be neglecteds, ~_^ unless the roleplay is themed that way.

It used to be a month, but no RPs in the DC section get deleted because it's so small. You shouldn't have to worry about it.

EDIT: Or... at least that's how I thought it worked. o-o No old RPs in the back. Go by a month for now and I'll talk to people, see if we're back to deleting again.

Question. Since in the dragon RP section, your supposed to RP with DC dragons, can you RP as Currently uncoded dragons? Like dragons in the section that finished dragon requests are in.

Did the RP thread Hatchlings get deleted? I can't find it in the DC RP section.

I do not believe those are allowed in this section. They would most likely go in the Other RP sections solely because those dragons do not exist in the DC universe yet.

Try searching it. My search yielded quite a few threads with similar names having to do with hatchlings.

Next time, I would advise searching the desired RP independently, because it's hard for us to tell which RP you're thinking of. There are many, many RPs in this section focused around hatchlings.
