Bigger AP page

Have there ever been talks about making the AP page bigger? As in; showing more eggs than the standard 5 x 6

 

I think it would be better and more efficient than it is now. Especially for those who hunt in the AP (Almost anybody from time to time). So I would like other people's opinions on this, and is it even possible (code and site-wise)?

Just curious. I don't much care either way - but 30 eggs is quite a few to look through fast with each refresh...

The AP is just fine. If you think you're bored with 4D XH eggs, just wait till those get picked up and we're back to 5D+ eggs.

Sometimes the AP is boring. It is because of the kind of eggs that are there, not the number of eggs. If there were more eggs the best ones would get picked off right away, just as they do now, and that would just leave us with a larger number of "boring" eggs. How is that better or more efficient?

Some connections already have trouble loading all 30 AP eggs, so I'd be concerned for those users if this were to change. And, to be honest, I don't actually find the AP boring at the moment - everything is incuhatchable, and that is a wonderful thing.

Good point ! That is one page where you CANNOT turn images off !

As everyone else noted, I'm not sure how adding more eggs will make the page more efficient. It'd just be more eggs to hunt.

Maybe just give people the option to make the AP a different size? I would like to have a bigger AP, to be able to see more eggs, but if it's a problem with worse internet connections... maybe it can be implemented?

It would be more efficient for ME to have a bigger AP, to be able to see more kinds of eggs. So that's what I meant with efficient.

I feel like it may be possible to take advantage of that, though. The eggs normally not shown are still backlogged (unless I've got this all wrong), and there could definitely be rares and whatnot hiding back there. Who's to stop someone from setting it to the largest size and snatching up all of the things that others don't even have a chance to see?

I am a huge AP camper, so I support this. However, I do think it should be an option, for those with slow internet, like me

I love incuhatchable eggs!! Makes me hatchie locked almost 24/7 but i dont mind!!

As they say.... "This too shall pass" and before you know it, the AP will be sitting at 5d 6h again. Right now, we had a (essentially) 3 dragon release and Halloween is fast approaching. So people are prepping and biome hunting instead of AP trolling. I know I am!

 

So, yea. I think the current AP is just fine, and things will work its way out. It always does, eventually.

Making it optional is even worse because those with fast internet and the biggest AP setting available will be able to sift through all (rare/uncommon/cool) eggs way before users with minimal settings will even see them.

 

So I think that we should keep things the way they are.

Agreed! It is a really bad idea and unfair to allow some people to see more eggs as an option.

If you have fast internet, you get more eggs.

 

With this, the people with faster internet get even more eggs, and the people who can barely load the 30 eggs right now could barley load the page.

That's not really making it more efficient. Making the AP more efficient would be having eggs cycle through faster or something like that. Having the ability to see more eggs than what is normally displayed just gives the player an advantage over other players who happen to be looking through the AP, especially if the size change is optional. A bigger AP means more images to load, which makes the page slower.

But could implementing an option for a smaller AP be an idea? For those with slow internet.

 

Making the eggs cycle vaster is also a great idea!

No, because it would still have the same effect. Those with faster connections would have a bigger selection, even if that "bigger" selection is just the default size.
