Ah, yes. Death's hilarious xd.png

Thief of Time has a lot of him in it... I remember that's why I liked it so much.

I love Terry Pratchett! I was introduced to his books this summer, when my cousin lent me The Colour Of Magic and Sourcery. I loved them, and bought at least 5 when I came back home xd.png

I am currently reading The Hogfather and I just love the Death of Rats xd.png Another book by him that rather amuses me is Johnny of the Dead.

Favourite characters are Rincewind, Twoflower (He's so cute xd.png) and Conina.

Discworld is definitely one of the best book series ever. It's both comedic and serious at the same time. It can really tug at your heartstrings, even while you're rolling on the floor laughing and cheering. ^.^

The most recent one I've read is Small Gods. Brutha's and Om's antics were epic xd.png

Discworld, I adore Discworld! Seiously, every single book from that series is pure gold - I've started with The Colour of Magic and liked it, but didn't really see just how truly amazing these books were untill I read more of them, when it became clear that even though all those stories stand on their own, they are at the same time a part of a larger whole. That (among many, many other things) is what I love about these books - the more you read, the more invested you get in the characters and the wonderful world around them. If I had to pick favorites, I'd probably pick Sam Vimes as my favorite character and Night Watch as my fav story, folloved closely by Interesting Times and I don't know, the other 30+ books. xd.png

FFFFFF that looks amazing.

I have no idea what that thing is. But it looks like it has no body blink.gif

I can see that it has arms (so hopefully they are attached to something). Maybe it's body is hidden behind its head and Vimes' helmet?

I'm also a bit worried about that hourglass...

I'm trying to think of all of the Discworld non-humans I can think of but none of them seem to match it.

I'm guessing it's going to be a new creature or one that's only had a brief mention.

Is that Vimes or Carrot? The cigar and expression put me in mind of Vimes, but he looks too young.

Then again, I've only read up to 'The Fifth Elephant' (I'm doing it out of order, unfortunately, so I'm reading 'Jingo' right now) so maybe my knowledge it a bit patchy.

Can I say I much prefer the serious covers to the parody ones? I always thought the parody ones were ugly; that is beautiful and badass.

That is Vimes.

I'm not sure how old he is supposed to be, but I've always figured late forties to early fifties.

errm, I think you can try and calculate it if you read Night watch. i don´t remember it clearly, but I think there were some specific dates biggrin.gif

Is it snuff like the cold ?

No.

The three meanings of 'snuff' that I know of are:

1) Stuff made from tobacco leaves. People who use it generally sniff it up through their nose.

2) Extinguish a light. In the old days people would 'snuff' out a candle by putting a little metal helmet over the flame and starving it of air to burn.

3) Death. 'To snuff someone out' is the same as 'to kill someone'.

Do you think it could be Mr Nutt from Unseen Academicals? I won't say what he is (it'd be a HUGE spoiler - and ruin the whole book if you haven't read it) but I suspect it could be him.

I doubt it, it's kind of small and I though Nutt was roughly human size.

Of course, it could be a baby of his kind....

Actually Mr Nutt changes in size several times throughout the book. It's been a while since I read it, but I seem to remember him as being smaller in the beginning and becoming bigger a various points later on. And he was thought by most people (including himself) to be a goblin and I always thought of goblins as smaller than humans.

I thought he started off being slightly smaller than a human to being bigger than one...

Anyway, I just found out that Unseen Academicals is going to be the next book to be adapted for TV/Sky.

aaargh! I just realised I've completely forgotten the plot of I shall wear midnight.

I am disappointed in myself, I've taken pride in the fact that I can at least vaguely remember the storyline of each of the books. and now I've gone and forgotten one!

Has anyone read any of Pterry's other books? Like Nation?

So apparently there is a new PTerry book out in September, called 'Dodger'.

It's not based in Discworld, but Victorian London.

...

Not sure if anyone else cares...

I came across a teaser for Dodger, and I think it sounds interesting - I'm hoping that it'll be at my local library soon, so I can read it.
