Isa and Tagen saw the castles alarms go off again. They had been traveling once more and now they where entering a new location. Not wanting to be left in the dust of the others they head off the castle to see where they landed. However as soon as the 2 stepped off it vanished. As if it wanted to get rid of them.

It had dropped them off on planet that seemed a bit desert like. Tagen looked at Isa then at the ground and the sky. He found the air here a little hard to breath.


"Isa..... any idea where we are?" he asked looking around.

((I know very little about her universe. So I'm gonna rely on you for a lot of the details.))

Isa shook her head and looked around at the wilderness around her.
"No, I don't." She said, tapping her omnitool and scanning the area. She did a full circle until she was facing Tagen again then smiled.
"This is great!" She said happily, moving over and hugging her friend. "We're home! Well not home exactly, but we're in my universe! This is Terra Nova, the first human colony beyond the Sol mass relay! We are a few miles from the nearest settlement, and after that we can go wherever we want! We're finally home Tagen!" She said happily, hugging him again and laughing excitedly.

Tagen looked at her eye's wide and hugged her back too happy to say anything. He hugged her back laughing as well. He stayed in her arms for a few moments letting the fact sink in. They where in his new home universe. With his best friend as well. His body almost vibrated he was so happy. A purr sound also seemed to come from his neck. "Isa.... I thou-" he closed his mouth sounding like a sheep with the purr happening.

Isa laughed again as Tagen purred in her arms and hugged her friend tight. She was happier then she had been in a long time and now that they were home she could finally get back to her pilgrimage.
"Well lets get going then!" she said happily, letting go and moving north. "The nearest settlement is a few hours from here, but if we're lucky someone can pick this up." she poked a few buttons on her omnitool and it chirped.
"There... I activated a VI program that will give our location as well as let anyone who gets it know that we need a pickup. Before someone finds us though, we need to get your story straight." she thought for a few moments, idly twisting her hands together then snapped her finger.
"Ok, let's say that I found you in an escape pod right? I found you near the hourglass nebula and you don't have any memory of your home or your species. You decided to come with me on my pilgrimage so that you could hopefully regain your memory, then go home. How does that sound?"

Tagen nodded "All I recall from back then is my name and the fact I was in an escape pod." he said "I hope to return to my people some day and I think going with you and seeing all the sights would help shake my memory." he finished off "Even though I'm perfectly content stay with you and being by your side the whole time and more." he said trotting out in front of her and jumping around in glee. It was really happening. This was no dream. This was real life. He came back over to Isa and hugged her quickly before jumping around some more before coming along side her again.

Isa laughed and nodded, hugging Tagen back.
"Sounds like a plan then!" she said, continuing on as she spoke. "I can't believe we're back though! I thought we were going to be trapped on that stupid castle forever." She continued to fiddle with her omnitool as she walked but looked up a few minutes later when a whine could be heard coming from the direction they were walking.
"There's our ride!" she said, waving happily at the shuttle that was coming their direction. It stopped a couple dozen feet away from them and landed gently before the door opened and a human got out followed closely by a Turian. The Turian had a pistol holstered at its side but hadn't drawn it yet. His eyes were still watching Tagen unwaveringly.
"We got your distress beacon." the human said, jumping down and approaching Isa. "Can we give you a lift back to the colony?"
"Ron! We don't even know who this Quarian is or what her pet can do, and you're inviting them onto our shuttle?" The Turian asked incredulously.
The human Ron rolled his eyes and looked at Isa. "That's Terak, my copilot and general pain in the ass. If you don't mind me asking, what's your name and what is that... Thing?" he asked, gesturing to Tagen.
"My name is Isa'nosn vas Treya, and this is my friend Tagen." she said, stepping to the side so Tagen could tell them himself.

Tagen looked at the shuttle and was giddy. A real craft. He saw the pilots come out. One of them kept his eye's on him. He looked back at the alien then looked at the human when he asked what he was. "I'm Tagen. That..... is I can recall though." he said "I'm told Isa rescued me from an escape pod from the..... a nebula. Its all fuzzy." he explained acting like he was trying to recall it but could not. He though did find a hole in the plan. How did they get here? Hopefully that would not be a question asked or Isa would know what to say. All he needed to do was play like he lost his memory. "I'm grateful Isa found me though. She's been very kind and helpful." he said to try and add to her credit. As it seemed the copilot was not sure of her.

Terak glanced at Ron and shrugged before turning and hopping back up into the shuttle.
"Whatever, just don't get dirt everywhere, we just had this thing cleaned he said, going back up front.
Ron gestures for both Isa and Tagen to get in then went back to the pilot seat himself.
"We're going to have to drop you at the spaceport on our way by. We got your beacon in between our pickup and drop off so we had to make a detour to get you both." he poked a few controls and shuttle lifted off and headed off the direction Tagen and Isa had been walking.
"If you're both looking for his memory you might try the citadel. They have archives from all over the galaxy so I'm sure there's something on your species there." Ron finished.
The rest of the ride was quiet and short and ten minutes later they landed again in front of a building where multiple ships were docked.
Both Ron and Terak said goodbye to Isa and Tagen then left with the shuttle.
"Well, we're here." Isa said, ignoring the looks they were both receiving from those walking by. "Where would you like to go first? I still think the citadel is a good place to start."

Tagen was tempted to give Terak the T.T look but did not. He followed Isa into the shuttle and he sat down beside Isa and listened to what the pilot said. He knew that the citadel may have data on creatures similar to him but.... chances of finding his current body's kind was... very low. He kept looking at Isa on the ride. Once they disbarment he saw some of the odd looks "Would I look better standing on 2 legs instead of 4?" he asked noting all the others where on there 2 legs. Humans and the other races. He looked at Isa and smiled "Your the guide Isa. I'll follow." he said

Isa frowned in thought for a moment, then nodded once.
"Alright, I have to go tithe citadel anyway, so let's start there. As to your question, probably not. Admittedly there's only one race that I know of that walks on all fours, and that's the Elcor, but I don't think it would matter if you went on two legs. You're so different looking that it would probably just make you stand out more." she smiled and walked through the spaceports open doorways and into a terminal of sorts. (think like a modern aitport with spaceships) Multiple shops were arranged around a large open area with a circular desk near the center. Numerous screens hung above the desk with departure and arrival times while multiple beige of various races worked below at small terminals.
"The next citadel ship leaves in half an hour or so." Isa said thoughtfully, moving forward and purchasing two tickets. "We can get some food before we leave. I'm starving." she began to walk over towards a small shop across the place then stopped and looked at Tagen.
"You and I can't eat the same thing." she said, looking around at the other shops. "I have a dextro-protein biology system like Turians. You have a Levo-protein system. Eating each others food would be very dangerous for both of us. Why don't you go find a food place you like and I'll get my food then come over and pay for you? That way you have some time to look around?" She moved off and was gone for almost ten minutes before she came back. Her left hand held a plate of food that didn't look very good to anyone but Turians or Quarians, while her right held an odd bracelet of sorts.
"Here, a present." she said, holding out the bracelet. "I know you like technology, so I got you an omnitool. It goes on your non-dominant hand so you can use it better."

Tagen nodded and remained on all 4's and and listened. He looked around at the shops and stuff and nodded when she said the stuff about the flights. Food did sound nice. He was about to follow her when she turned around saying how there digestive systems where very different. He nodded when she suggested he find a place and she go get her food then when she returns she pays for his food. He look around and soon found a place where he saw other humans eating from and the food looked alright. He went back to the spot and she returned shortly. She had some odd food with her. And a bracelet of sorts. When she told him what it was he gently took it and slid it onto his left paw as he was right handed in his old body. "Thanks.... how do you work it?" he asked looking it over now seeing some buttons. Then his belly growled. "And on that note, I found a place, no idea what the sign said but I saw other humans eating from it and it seems to have ok food. The smells said so." he said.

A small group of humans came to them "A Quarian and a beast like creature. Mam I think your in the wrong area. This is not a zoo." one said and his friends laughed a bit before moving on. Tagen looked at Isa, the looks and latest comment starting to make him feel nerves. "After we get our food.... do you know of a quiet spot?" he asked

Isa shook her head at Tagens question.
"No, I've never been to this planet before. I've only ever been on one other planet in fact and that was on the other side of the galaxy. I bet it will be a bit quieter near our flight though. I'll teach you to use your omnitool while we wait. Anyway, what do you want to eat? It says there's something called chicken, pizza, steak from a cow, and a couple other things like that." she looked at him questioningly.

Tagen nodded and then looked at the food stand "I think I'll get ah pizza and some.... those chicken things look good." he said trying to not be too expensive. He assumed the numbers where the price tags. He had no idea how the currency worked here though. The counter person looked at Tagen then at Isa a bit weirded out. "Excuse me.... we don't serve food for Quarians no offense." he said more polite then the last group.

Isa smiled and nodded, holding up her plate of food.
"I know, this is for my friend here." she said, pointing at Tagen. The human behind the counter got an odd look on his face but nodded all the same.
"Um all right, if you say so. What will he have?" Isa glanced at Tagen then back at the cashier. "Pizza and chicken please." she said, checking the prices before swiping her credit chit. The cashier punched a few commands into his console then went into the back. He returned a few minutes later with a plate that contained food like Isa had never seen before and handed it to her.
"I hope your friend enjoys." the cashier said, looking curiously at Tagen before going back to the next customer.
Isa led the way to where their ship was docked and found a seat near a window where Tagen could sit with her.
"There... It took a bit longer then expected but I'm finally on my way tithe citadel with my friend." she handed Tagen his plate of food then began to eat her own food carefully. (don't ask how, they don't explain that in the games...)

Tagen stayed by Isa as they made there way through the crowd and busy area. He looked at the chair only now wondering how this would work. After a bit of figuring out he got into the seat next to Isa. His tail bent at a odd angle but it worked. He carefully took the food Isa handed to him in his for paws and eventually worked out how to eat. "Thanks Isa." he said before eating. After a few bites he paused was about to say something then stopped him self and went back to eating. After he finished he looked around then at his omnitool on his paw. He looked intrigued at how it worked. He pressed a button wondering what it would do.

(yeah they don't really talk about it in the games because it doesn't make any sense when you think about it. Oh well whatever, it's still a cool universe so I can let a little nonsense slide)

Isa watched Tagen play with his omnitool for a moment, then carefully reached over and tapped a control for him. A program activated, showing a small human female that began to speak to him.
"This is the omnitool version eight point five public device. I am Deona, your VI program included with your new device. I will assist you in understanding how to use your omnitool effectively and with as little hassle as possible. Before we begin, could you please tell me your name? Your device will recognize you as its new owner once a name has been entered."

Tagen jumped a little when the program started but clued in and nodded his thanks to Isa with a smile. He listened to the program. Sounded like a tutorial program right now. "Tagen." he said when it asked for his name.

((I know nothing really on how the tool works lol. Not much to post as a result. And true, games don't explain everything.))

(no problems I understand completely. If you want to know more, this is the wiki page on omnitools. They are basically multipurpose devices that do a little of everything. Click the known functions part of the wiki page to see what I mean.)

There was a pause as the small see-thru figure listened to Tagen then it nodded once.
"User Tagen accepted. Welcome to your new omnitool. This tutorial will help you learn the different functions of your new omnitool. If you have any questions during the course of this tutorial, please feel free to ask at any time. According to Sirta foundation records you have not purchased or owned an omnitool before. If this is incorrect please visit your nearest Sirta foundation store and consult one of the sales associates."
After that the VI went through numerous tutorials explaining the different features on the omnitool. It explained how to use the scanning and medigel function, the flashlight and camera functions as well as numerous others. (they are all mentioned on that link I gave you. We don't have military versions just the civilian ones)

Tagen listened and followed the steps as he was lead through them. Of course he had never had anything like this but... how would it know his past life. Once it was all done he looked at Isa "I only saw.... 3 of its functions... I did not know.... I'm almost scared to use it now.... it can do so much I don't want to damage it.... how expensive are these?" he asked wanting to know. To him this most likely was a few mill. He hoped this did not take too much off her tab. She already did so much for him. Brought him into the future, letting him largely live his dream. Letting him use her tab for... credits? Or was it called something else? "I don't know how I'm ever going to repay you.....* he said before gently nuzzling the side of her helmet. Would have been her cheek but her helmet was there.

((Oh, I completely missed that. I have been taking a look through the wiki. Read up on your chars race. The bright letters and dark background make it hard to read though. But I have taken a little browsing in there.

I blame you. Ya got me watching the games cut sense's.))

(I have that problem sometimes as well. The best way to deal with their horrid color choice is to highlight the text you are reading. I find it helps.)

Isa smiled at Tagen's timidness and shrugged a little. "They cost a couple hundred credits, which ultimately pays for itself because they are so useful. Also they are holographic so you couldn't break them if you tried." she hugged him lightly as he nuzzled her. "You don't have to pay me back for anything. I'm just glad to have a friend like you." she said, standing and stretching. "Now come on, the ship is boarding and I don't want to miss it." she said, moving off towards the docking tube.
The ship itself was a cargo freighter of sorts that was transporting passengers as well this particular flight. The captain was standing at the docking tube and gave Isa and Tagen an odd look as they walked up.
"Ma'am, I'm sorry but you will have to store your... Pet in the cargo bay for the duration of the flight. It's company policy." he said, giving Tagen an odd look as he spoke.
Isa rolled her eyes in her helmet and glanced at Tagen before looking back at the captain.
"He's not a pet, he's my friend. He's a sentient species named Tagen. I found him in a life pod in the hourglass nebula. Isn't that right Tagen?" she asked, turning to him and raising an eyebrow.
