"Get up, go to school, save the world."

 

That has been your routine for the last while, at least since you agreed to become a magical warrior, seemingly in a dream. Since you found that trinket you were irresistibly attracted to that no one else seemed to notice; it could have simply been on the ground, or in an expensive store where the only option was theft. That trinket could have been anything: an object, an accessory, or even a live animal. With a call and a chant, you somehow discover that lo and behold! Your clothes, and sometimes even your hair and physique, change dramatically, and you feel an amazing energy flowing through your body.

 

Almost coincidentally, three things happen in quick succession after you discover you could become a magical girl or boy. First, dark shadows seem to appear in the corner of your eye, prowling only after sunset where they materialize into fully-grown beasts with a thirst for human blood or wicked embodiments of negative thoughts coercing people to end themselves. Magical warrior powers, you discover, are the only thing that are even able to faze them. Second, the city's police force is on a wide hunt for paranormal activity. It's all over the news. As a result, they will not hesitate to apprehend anyone showing an ounce of magical power or superhuman strength, meaning that identities are best kept secret. Third, a mysterious café called Dreamcatcher just opened in downtown... and apparently they have amazing cakes.

 

You think you are the only one, but there are many others (some might even be your classmates!), and not all of the might be nice. You might decide to find them, stealthily, of course, or even online. Or, maybe you would rather work alone and not bother with the saving the world business.

 

What you do with your powers is up to you.

 

About "Magical Warriors"

  • They are just as likely to be boys than girls.
  • Magical warriors seem to be the only thing able to damage shadows and demons.
  • The majority of them also seem to have enhanced strength, speed, and endurance when transformed. In addition, they have an unnaturally high jump and seem to fall slightly slower than normal, giving the appearance of floating.
  • In their "civilian" form, they might show one or two minor abilities that aren't exactly normal. However, they are only able to access the full extent of their skills and magic when transformed.
  • Their source of power is a "trinket" they carry with them -- which can be almost anything. Without their trinket, they are unable to transform.
  • The trinket is of unknown origin, and found only by its rightful owner. Timeframe for its discovery can only be within the year leading up to the roleplay events.
  • The trinket's power is channeled through physical contact, but only works for the owner.
  • The trinket, magical costume, and abilities all seem to be connected and usually fit to the magical warrior's interests. For instance, a trinket in the form of a bug-shaped barette might grant insect-based powers and armor that looks like a beetle.
  • It is entirely possible to lose a trinket. They don't seem to find their way back very easily.
Signups:

 

Username: Self-explanatory.

Name: Also self-explanatory, but most likely it will be a normal, everyday name, first and last.

Age: Between 11 and 18. Adults just aren't magical enough~!

Gender: Your choice.

Trinket: The trinket is the key to transform -- don't lose it! It can be anything imaginable that can comfortably be carried (even animals), and are borderline indestructible by normal means. Powers and transformed appearance would be related to what the trinket is, of course.

Appearance: Give these sections a bit of substance! I will tell you right now: I will not accept forms with one-liners in appearance, personality, or history.

----- Regular: Civilian appearance. Meaning that funky hair colors are the result of dye. Keep it normal.

----- Transformed: Magical girl or boy appearance. Bust out those funky hair colors, or get super duper creative in some other way! Describe that awesome outfit! It should be at least somewhat related to the trinket.

Personality: What makes your character tick? Why are they doing what they're currently doing? How do they act around people? What's their stance on morality? Etc. Let us see into their psyche.

Magical Abilities: What kind of magic does your character have? What advantages does their magical form give them? Again, abilities should be at least somewhat related to what the trinket is.

Background: Some nitty gritty history. Doesn't need to be super duper tragic. It's meant to be a snapshot to see what kind of circumstances made your character who he or she is today. It should ideally be relatively normal -- this is an urban fantasy set more or less in present day -- but don't let that stop you from creating a prodigy or an unfortunate story.

Misc.: Anything else you would like to add.

  • Follow the DC rules.
  • Treat fellow RPers with respect.
  • No god-modding. In addition, be logical.
  • Adding to the previous point, I am tired of Mary Sues/Gary Stus. Take the Litmus Test if I keep repeatedly rejecting your sheet.
  • Keep it more or less original, direct copies of characters from anime are a no-go.
  • Censored swearing and romance are allowed.
  • I cannot stress that I'm really annoyed by one- and two-liners, because those are so much wasted potential. Keep it to a minimum of five lines OR six complete sentences (although this is flexible).
  • I have the bad habit of following up with in-RP consequences. For instance, if your character is a total weirdo, they will get noticed by NPCs. If they do something stupid like set several buildings on fire, then chances are, the police would show up in several posts. Just a forewarning.

Here are my sample signups -- I tend to write quite a bit.

 

Username: TehUltimateMage (TUM)

Name: Tammy Walker

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Trinket: Her pet cat, Bandit the black cat.

Appearance:

----- Regular: Standing 5'1, skin a washed-out ochre and naturally straight hair a jet-black, barely reaching her shoulders. A natural part in the middle keeps her short bangs out of her eyes, with strands are often seen poking in wild directions. She has an almost constant bedhead. Tammy is seldom seen without bags under her eyes, yet those same eyes are always wide and alert. She walks around slightly slouched -- not timid, but to appear cool and carefree.

 

Her preferred style of dress is a loose sweater or t-shirt with a pair of jeans that pool around her sneakers. It deliberately hides her widening hips, developing chest, and heavy-set bones. With not a care about what others think of her, Tammy often incorporates strange accessories into her clothing, usually either neon-colored, or anime-related. Anyone who tells her off just "doesn't understand" her tastes.

----- Transformed: Tammy's transformed state is, in essence, a giant orange cat.

Her hair turns a bold, vibrant orange streaked with occasional darker locks. It curls outwards up and away from her head. The hair close to her face is sensitive to even minute vibrations in the air, much like a cat's whiskers. A pair of white barrettes keep her bangs out of her eyes, highlighting the presence of her cat ears. Her eyes turn amber and slitted and her teeth grow sharp. Her oversized hands are covered in orange fur and mimic a cat's paws in both form and function. The fur covering her paws spreads a few inches past her elbow, at which point it abruptly fades and is replaced by smooth human skin. Her thigh-high boots also look like paws, furred and set with claws and paw pads underfoot.

 

Her layered peachy yellow dress is more of a tube top; it leaves the shoulders bare while somehow magically staying in place. The dress is A-line and more form-hugging at the chest, short and flared enough that her white bloomers peek out from underneath. There is a slit in the back from where the dress starts to flare out all the way to the hem, enabling her fluffy tail to swing freely.

 

A large bell is tied to her neck with a red bow. It's distinctive jangle is an easy tool to alert people of her presence.

 

Personality: Tammy is aloof and silent, trying to play the dark cookid in school yet not quite managing it. Unless you somehow manage to become her friend, at which point she won't stop talking your ear off about that show she watches on tv or that killer combo she got in that game or how X character is going to be her future husband… and she prides herself in being so-called "random as heck". When she gets really carried away, she barely has any sense of personal space.

 

Tammy treats everything like a giant ego trip and wish fulfillment fantasy. Life and death fights aren't that bad because nothing bad will happen to the main character, right? She treats it all like a game. Rash decisions follow (she can be genre savvy, or wrong genre savvy). She loves gloating, especially when transformed.

 

Magical Abilities:

 

--- Enhanced Senses - Tammy has all the senses of a cat, including low-light vision and sensitive hearing.

--- Agility and Strength - Tammy's magical form grants her the enhanced reflexes and senses of a cat along with an unparalleled strength in her muscles. Her jump is high and her run is fast, even by magical girl standards, and acrobatics are second nature to her in this form. Her claws are sharp, and may be over-extended to blades over a foot long.

--- Cat-steps - A skill that silences everything within a foot of Tammy, useful when she wants to move silently.

--- Chesire's Grin - A skill that allows Tammy to momentarily turn invisible, although she is still physically there.

--- Cat's Cradle - Tammy can summon a giant ball of yarn for endless entertainment.

 

Background: Tammy was very spoiled as a kid -- as an only child, her well-off parents showered her with whatever she wanted. Life came easy at the time in her small town. She had pocket money, and could do whatever she wanted as long as she kept her grades up. Easy.

 

Things changed when her family moved to the city. Her mother had a hard time getting accustomed to city life, and restricted Tammy from her usual freedom. As a result, the girl became restless and turned to wasting time online. Sometimes she spent all-nighters streaming shows. Sometimes it was video games. Other times, it was sleeping the days away.

 

The new school was bigger than what she was accustomed to. Nobody really knew anyone else. Tammy craved attention at first, but it seemed her methods were causing the opposite effect. Maybe if she acted all cool? She didn't know. People spoke of her in hushed whispers as the wierdo. At this stage, she didn't mind. Forget those guys! She had a whole following online anyway…

 

As for her trinket, she saw a little black kitten in a nearby petstore and one thing led to another.

 

Misc.: With the help of Bandit, Tammy can talk to and understand cats, and even persuade them to do her small favors.

Name: Felix Song

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Trinket: Felix's transformation trinket is the E string on his trusty violin.

Appearance:

----- Regular: At 5'4, Felix stands shorter than many of the other boys who have grown exponentially during their teen years. His frame tends toward the scrawny side and his skin is a honey beige, face with small eyes framed by thick rimmed glasses and a flat nose. His dark hair is cut in a simple medium-short style and is slightly wavy.

 

Felix likes to dress with a hint of sophistication for a clean and polished look. No clothes go unironed in his household. He seems to like button-up shirts, short or long sleeved, though it's not uncommon to see him in zippered hoodies.

 

----- Transformed: Upon transformation, Felix gains a few inches in height and several pounds in muscle. His hair, while the same shade, grows longer and is slicked back for a sharp look. His glasses are replaced by a distinctive half-mask covering most of his face on the upper and right sides, reminiscent of the one worn by the Phantom of the Opera. A short black cape, the interior facing a dazzling red, flows over his shoulders and reaches his waist.

 

He wears the swallow-tail suit of a maestro, black as coal, along with a wine-colored waistcoat with a proper dress shirt, as if going for a night at the theatre. A frilled white cravat at his neck gives him the distinguished appearance of a late 19th century gentleman. Dark dress pants and polished shoes complete the look. A leather belt serves to hold a pair of holsters - one for an axe, the other for a sword.

 

Personality: Felix easily frustrated with people and is hard to get along with, although his strategic mind and quick thinking are welcome additions to the group. He's a strong believer in vigilante justice and sees it as his duty to protect the civilians. He personally dislikes using manipulation on people, though sometimes his simmering anger and taste for revenge blur the line between what is justifiable and what isn't.

 

Magical Abilities:

Felix's magical form actually has two modes, with the only difference being his weapon: con anima (playing with feeling) and con forze (playing with force).

 

Upon transformation he starts in the first, more passive mode. With his violin and bow bolstered by some hefty magic, any tune he plays has the potential to influence his listeners' emotions, ranging from awakening seething rage to bringing them the greatest joy. Some tunes have active effects such as inflicting sleep, re-energizing, or even giving an uncontrollable urge to dance. But naturally, the effects weaken the farther the target is away from him. (This makes Felix ideal for assisting crowd control.)

 

But when the going gets tough, he switches to con forze, the active mode. By simply changing how he holds the instrument, voila, it transforms into a one-handed axe. The violin's f-shaped holes are present as groves in the metal. The bow in turn turns into a rapier with ornate musical motifs on the guard. As a personal preference and the result of justified paranoia, Felix prefers to keep his instrument in this mode to prevent any sort of breakage -- because steel is stronger than wood. They fit snugly into the holsters on his hip.

 

Background: For Felix, every day was the same routine. No later than 7:30 he was out the door and on the way to school, bookbag slung over one shoulder and the other holding his violin case -- for if he didn't use every opportunity to squeeze in some practice, there would be hell to pay.

 

Sometimes he really hated the high expectations of parents. While he did understand where they were coming from -- after all, their current financial position wasn't ideal -- the relative insensitivity of certain kids at school constantly tore at his nerves. It wasn't as bad when his sister was in school with him to prevent him from getting thrashed, though much was to be desired after her graduation.

 

But then he met her. Lilly was her name. Everywhere she treaded, flowers seemed to blossom in her footsteps. Her smile beamed like the sun. Felix recalled the first time they met: she told off some jerks playing keep away with his instrument, and ever since then the number of "accidents" he experienced decreased dramatically. She was a soft demeanour girl with a heart of gold. It took him ages to muster up the courage to speak to her, because, he reluctantly admitted, she made his heart flutter.

 

Months passed. Rumours spread about the state of their relationship, and Felix couldn't entirely deny the claims. He enjoyed her company. She laughed at his antics. Listened to him practice. Summer came and went. Their meetings became less frequent, but Felix took this time to plan and assemble a little bouquet of lilies and orchids that she helped him plant in his yard. And then maybe, maybe ask her out?

 

Too little, too late. They found Lilly's body in the early spring, but not all of it. She was a victim of those paranormal attacks that had been happening recently, and Felix swore revenge on every one of those shadows that only magic can seem to pierce.

 

He became almost like a recluse -- his music was his only savior. The next time a string broke on his violin, he went of to buy a new set. It wasn't the brand he usually got, but there was just something about the ones he haphazardly picked up  that attracted him. He has not yet discovered his magical abilities, nor is he even aware that he has them -- only that one of the strings on his violin always seems to sound a little better than the others.

 

Misc.: Even without the help of his magical abilities, Felix is an excellent violin player.

Username: Takhesis

Name:  Helena Russell

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Trinket: An amber teardrop pendant on a fine silver and gold weave chain.

Appearance:

----- Regular: An average, underdeveloped (in her opinion) schoolgirl with pale blue eyes and short blonde hair, Helena dresses to hide herself - to blend in with the crowd. Her school uniform is neither too crumpled or too tidy. Outside of school days, she's just a typical teenager, T-shirt and jeans in the summer - the addition of a jacket over long sleeves in winter. The pendant is always hidden under her top.

 

----- Transformed:  The amber pendant takes the central focus of her Magical form. It rests on her clavicle held in a silver and gold starburst decal over a dark blue gown. Her eyes darken to near black, her hair now flows down to her mid-back with what appears to be glitter covering it.

 

Personality: Helena has two aspects to her personality, it seems to be linked to the pendant that she now wears.

 

She had always been a quiet girl, never drawing attention to herself but now she seems completely withdrawn into herself.

Almost as if something had drained her sense of self-worth. That is until she transforms - the magical girl she becomes is a bold, confident version of herself.

 

Magical Abilities:  The pendant is a conduit for an otherworldly spirit/power, which grants Helena what most would call 'a sixth sense'. Her awareness of her surroundings becomes heightened to a point that its as if she can predict what the immediate future holds.

 

Its not completely fool proof - she can only read possibilities based on her immediate surroundings. She can't, for example, know that an assassination attempt will be made in a weeks time at a diplomatic convention. Unless of course she actually overhears someone planning it.

 

Along with the heightened awareness, comes an ability to change the likely outcome of a sequence of events in a small way. Of course, she can only hope that the change is a beneficial one.

 

Taking the earlier example of the assassination attempt, Helena could set something up to reflect light in such a way as to blind the sniper as he takes his shot.

 

Best outcome: He misses entirely and gets caught. Plan is foiled.

Likely outcome: Plan is only delayed, due to needing a quick get away after missing.

Worst outcome: Sniper hits an innocent bystander.

 

Fate is after all a very fickle thing to mess with.....

 

Background:  Helena had a very ordinary life, up til her last birthday. She woke up to find a small parcel beside her bed. That in itself wasn't odd, some presents were left on her nightstand in the past. No, what was odd was that this one had only her name on it - with no indication of who it was from. And her parents didn't acknowledge they'd left anything there for her when she'd thanked them for the pendant.

 

Then the pendant's power revealed itself... and her life hasn't been the same since. Or her personality.... that wasn't the pendants fault - it actually saved her from a shadowy being from feeding on her life-force. But part of the damage had already been done - it is unknown whether it is reversible or not.

 

Misc.: The bigger the change Helena tries to make, the more draining it is. The drain on the pendant's power translates into tarnish on its chain. It can recharge - but requires a visible full moon to do so. If the chain completely tarnishes, the pendant is rendered useless and may even break under strain.

 

Username: Lore_Master

Name:  Kevin Redden

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Trinket: A pair of gloves, with a strange pattern on them, an azure-coloured circuit.

Appearance:

----- Regular: Kevin is a rather short boy, maybe 5'4, although he keeps telling everyone his growth spurt will happen soon. He tends keep his blonde hair spiked up, his way of defying his teachers. He either wears plain t-shirts, or shirts with his favourite bands logos. He likes to wear shorts in the summer, and jeans for the colder months.

 

----- Transformed:  Despite maybe growing an inch or two, he undergoes a more drastic transformation. His blue eyes develop green 'circuits', visible from the the iris. His hair colour becomes a bit dark, with neon green streaks ending in white tips. However, you'll have to pull off his headgear to see that. The headgear itself is rather unique. Since he doesn't show any emotions when transformed, he showcases various 'emoticons' in the front when he speaks. The helmet also comes with a randomize voice changer, which gives the impression multiple people are speaking the same words. So in other words, the outside viewer only see a white dome with two yellow slits for 'eyes', and an image of an emoticon when its relevant.

The rest of the costume is less impressive, the gloves become almost like a second skin, the circuit-like patterns expand to his upper arms. His clothing just consists of a snug black shirt and pants, with a tattered shoulder-cloak hanging near his back.

 

Personality:  Kevin's is a rather normal boy, he likes sports and teasing his friends. Naturally, he's experiencing puberty, as a result his interactions with girls his age can vary wildly. It tends to range from non-existent, to mildly awkward, to being rather 'tsundere' to just him being an idiot. Other then that, he's just a rather normal kid with a guilty pleasure... he likes to knit.

When Transformed, his personality shifts massively. Any emotions are suppressed, logic becomes the dominate factor in any decision making. His more... pragmatic and darker tendencies show when transformed. He doesn't care if a dozen innocents lose their lives, so long as a hundred more are saved. He is also prone to petty thievery, considering it his 'due' from a society of organics for bothering to saving them. As such, his mannerisms come dangerously close to being an Übermensch. Despite all that, he still fights the evil that plagues his city, because no one else is able too. At the end of the day, He still tries to do good, but his morals become a bit looser.

 

Magical Abilities: Kevin's abilities revolve around Technomagic, as such he can replicate or mimic technology via magic. However, he is rather new at the whole 'magic warrior' thing, so he's a novice with his abilities. He likes to think of his abilities as Firmware updates, as such he considers his skill level '1.0'

When transformed, his mind undergoes a massive overhaul, thus allowing him to become an organic computer. This allows him to use his eyes to 'scan' various places and people, and plan accordingly. He can also intercept various transmissions, and can even send some back should the need arise.

He isn't without any means to defend himself, considering he can manipulate technology and even possess small machines. Anything larger then a router and he'll suffer electronic backlash. His favourite means of attack is summoning swarms of tiny robots, or nanites to fight for him. If the going gets tough, he can try to build 'golems' with materials around. Although even a small one is a big risk, since he can 'overheat' and risk going unconscious as a result. Hell, even a well-worded logical paradox can leave him wide open.

 

Background: Kevin grew up with his grandparents for most of his life, his mother just left his father not long after he was born. Whether it was Post-partum depression, or simply not wanting to be a mother, he didn't know. As such, his father was more driven to be successful in the work place, hoping to give him a good life. Since he was never home, Kevin was pretty much raised by his grandparents. As a young kid, he got into a lot of fights with bullies, and was labelled a problem child as a result of his fights.

Middle school was an easier time, he calmed down enough to focus on his school work and relationships with classmates. On the outset of his thirteenth birthday, he found a pair of gloves in the attic. Thinking they looked cool, he simply placed them on and began to wear them every day. It was then soon after he experience 'transcendence' for the first time.

 

Misc.: When Transformed, he refers himself in the third person. I.E 'We' 'Us' 'Our' 'The Legion'

 

Username: pudding

Name:  Jack (AKA "Richie Rich", according to Brett)

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Trinket: Two earrings with red gems on the ends. The trinket is the combined earrings so if one is missing, he cannot transform. The gems seem to resemble the ones that adorn his outfit after his transformation.

Appearance:

----- Regular: Jack has slightly long blonde hair and large grey-blue eyes. He has slightly rounder facial features and usually wears expensive clothing picked out by his parents. When around them, his hair is also gelled back but he hates it and immediately messes it up as soon as he's away from them.

 

----- Transformed: Jack has a surprisingly 'girly' transformation. His hair grows considerably and is now held by a long, thin braid. Whatever street clothing he wears is transformed into a red, short dress with two sets of straps-one that goes over his shoulders and one that hangs down over his arms. The red dress ruffles out at the bottom in a gradient pattern, starting out dark and then fading to the color of the furry scarf around his neck. The scarf is adorned with three red pendants, similar to the one placed in the center of his dress. The dress is completed by long, black socks that rise up to just where the ruffles end above his knees. Similar to the scarf around his neck, he has a pair of red boots with fur around the top. The boots have high heels, making it difficult for Jack to walk around. The final touch to the outfit is a pair of red gloves with orange trim and red gems on the top. Due to the fact he is young, it is not difficult to think that Jack while transformed is actually a girl. It is only when he transforms back that it is obvious he is really a boy.

 

Personality: Jack is a generally bubbly soul with a carefree spirit. He is very passionate about topics that interest him and ends up more often than not getting into debates about trivial things. He isn't used to staying quiet or anything having to do with silence and is usually one of the loudest, most outspoken people in a room.

When transformed, his passion and happiness intensify while the rest of his emotions are dampened. He tends to always smile and lacks empathy towards other people or the general ability to understand what they are feeling. This makes him slightly psychopathic as he automatically assumes if he enjoys something, everyone else will. He's also slightly reckless in this form and finds nothing wrong with setting miscellaneous fires.

 

Magical Abilities: Pyrokinesis

-Fire immunity: Jack has a general immunity to flames and cannot be hurt by flames or heat. This means, however, the cold and water are dangerous to him in his transformed state.

-Flight: Using fire specifically blasted from his hands or feet, he can awkwardly fly. He's not very good at this at this point.

-Fire manipulation: General control over flames, the ability to conjure it or control it.

 

Background: Jack was born the only child to busy but very wealthy parents. They didn't have time to care for him and usually left his care to a nanny. He bonded well with his nanny while his parents were away and while he always tried to impress them when they were actually around, they rarely gave him the time of day. Over the years, Jack became obsessed with fire and enjoyed setting fire to random objects. But he's always managed to control himself and avoid hurting people.

He found his trinket when his dad returned from an overseas trip. It was also Jack's birthday when he returned and he ended up making up an excuse and giving him an old box he had been given as a present. Jack ended up discovering the box had a secret drawer in the bottom that contained the earrings. Since he already had his ears pierced at this point, he simply began wearing the earrings.

 

Misc.: While transformed, water is his greatest weakness. Not only will it prevent him from creating fires, it also hurts him and can give him 'burns' like acid.

Name: Lydia Miller

Age: 17

Gender: female

Trinket: Her trinket is a necklace in the form of a silver three-pointed infinity symbol. The points have the meaning of: birth, live and death. And it was a symbol used by druïds for infinity. (Triquetra Symbol)

 

Appearance:

----- Regular: She is a tanned blue-eyed black haired girl. she always kept her hair short because it was just in the way and would quickly get frizzy. And she likes to wear comfortable clothes, that means anything she can grab from the wardrobes. She mainly likes to wear jeans, sneakers, a shirt and a vest. That is often just because not many things fit her with a hight of 1,78 m.

----- Transformed: Her hair becomes long and white with ten silver locks, and is kept in a bun ponytail at the side of her head with two locks at the side of her face. While the hair almost reaches the floor it will never get in the way or tangled. Her eyes turn from blue to a white silver and her skin gets paler almost if she is silver herself. The top part is a white beige tube-top with the upper point of the symbol going between her breasts and almost reaching her neck. It is hold up by a small chain around her neck that looks like that from her necklace. The two other points go down alongside her hips, leaving the middle and connection point on her belly. The sleeves are silver and are only loosely connected at the top of the tube-top and the wrists with a slit in the middle of the sleeve. Around the wrists there are two more symbols with a small chain, making the connection with the sleeves. The skirt part is rather simple in comparison and is made of layers of silver and beige white fabric. It is very short though. The knee-high boots are silver with the tops flipped back in a beige white colour. You would think she would reflect the sunlight everywhere with all that silver, but magically it does not.

Personality: She is quite grumpy and doesn't like to be in the spotlight, she mostly thinks she is too boring. She always felt tired and didn't want to be bothered with anything. She likes calm places where she can just feel like reaching everything. (when she explains she doesn't know what it means either.) After finding the necklace it didn't change much. Just that she feels more alive and wants to be with people and plants. She is also a bit skeptical about the whole 'change into a magical girl and save the world' thing.

 

Magical Abilities: Since the symbol means Birth live and death it will be based on that with plants. The powerful ones are very limited.

 

Birth-With this one she can flick little seeds as bombs and grow plants/vines to ensnare enemies. Making a path without trouble on the way. The vines are quite sturdy but it will cost her one of her silver locks. Also the right down point of her symbol starts to get a shine over it when she uses it.

 

Live-With this one she can grow big flowers with a lot of pollen. This usually is a sleeping powder but sometimes the flowers can be more deadly like snapping something up. If she wants it to be more deadly then one of her silver strands dissapear. When using this ability the top point gets a shine over it.

 

Death-Is her shield and so she can make a barrier out of thorny plants, they are difficult to take down but also to grow. It will grow on a rather broad area able to protect more than one person. put this will also cost a silver strand. If she wants to make the thorns poisonous or life draining than it will cost another one. When using this power the bottom left point gets a shine.

 

Symbol- She can use the two symbols on her wrists as ninja stars. These will leave evidence of her being there and only come back after transforming again.

 

Hair lock- this is the count for how many times she can use powerfull attacks. The locks are returned when she transforms again. She ca get more locks but for that she has to be able to do a battle perfectly. Wich is very difficult to do.

 

Background: She lives a normal everyday live. Going to school, homework, preparing for exams, chores and freetime. Never thinking she is different from anybody else. Being boring even. Except from her hobby, wich is collecting necklaces. The more necklaces she has the happier she is, especially after knowing where it comes from. Wich she always finds out after a lot of research.

 

After a normal day of school she found a new shop. Going inside she found a lot of little trinkets and fell in love with another necklace. Taking it home she wanted to find out immediatly where it came from. But she came up with nothing but it being a druïds symbol. And she felt a weird urge she never had before with other necklaces. That was to wear it. So she did, and she never felt any better or worse, just full of energy.

 

Not long after she noticed another shop called dreamcatcher, on the same street as her house. She doesn't remember it being built but she doesn't doubt it.

She still doesn't know that she can transform, just that she has more energy and feels more calm near greenery.

Misc.: With only wearing her necklace she can take very well care of any plant but as soon as she takes it off than she is horrible at it.

Trinket: A plain wooden Ouija board planchette. She keeps it threaded on a string and wears it like a pendant.

Appearance:

----- Regular: Viola has mid-length to long dark brown hair and brown eyes. She usually keeps her hair in low bunches. Her go-to outfit is a t-shirt, leggings, sneakers, and a hoodie, adding a scarf if required. She's average height, though a bit on the skinny side.

----- Transformed: When transformed, Viola's hair is let down and becomes longer and wilder, changing from brown to a dark purple-black. It almost seems to move on its own, like it's being rustled by some imaginary wind. Somehow, a violet satin ribbon is tied to the back of her head. Her skin becomes ghostly pale and her irises turn bright red. The string that holds her trinket becomes a proper silver chain. Her clothing transforms into a long black gown that seems to almost fade away at the edges. The back of the skirt is somewhat longer than the front, revealing the violet inside of the material whenever Viola levitates. A mauve scarf is tied around her waist like a belt. Her hands are covered by flared sleeves with tattered edges. In summary, she pretty much looks like some kind of ghost-type pokemon gijinka.

Personality: When around people she's familiar with, Viola is an average girl: friendly and generally a nice person. Plop her in front of someone new, and she will instantly become incredibly timid and shy. She gets worked up over small details, and often finds it hard to make serious decisions on the fly. In addition to this, she is easily scared. When Transformed, she is carefree and mischievous. When in this state, she can get a little too rash and not think about the consequences of her actions. She will inevitably regret said decisions after becoming normal.

Magical Abilities: Viola's powers are all ghost themed. As she is still a rookie at this, her powers aren't quite refined yet.

-Invisibility: Self-explanatory. If she starts to forget the fact that she's invisible, she'll end up translucent.

-Levitation: Again, self-explanatory. She's not really fast at it though.

-Intangibility: The ability to phase through solid substances. If she's not careful, she might leave ectoplasm trails when she phases through walls and the like. Also, she'll still be hit by non-physical attacks.

-Possession: She can only possess objects. When possessing an object, she can either make it levitate or imbibe it with spectral energy. For now, she only has the energy to do one or the other, so if she possessed a potted cactus, she couldn't fly around and shoot needles at people- she'd either just fling herself at the target or have someone hold her like a weapon. If her vassal breaks, she will spontaneously appear where it was, stunned for a moment.

Background: Viola has a pretty good life. She always has pocket money, and if she can't get something, she can always ask. Unfortunately, her parents would often argue over petty things, often right in front of her. While they would eventually make up and apologize, she knew that they would still argue behind her back. Eventually, when she was 11, her dad left. After that, she managed to live a relatively normal life with her mom. One day, when at a local garage sale, she noticed the heart-shaped chip nestled in a box full of random clutter. While she was spooked at first by the fact that it used to come from a board game used to summon ghosts, she just couldn't part with it. She ended up buying it and keeping it on her with a string, wearing it like a pendant.

Misc.: Even when not transformed, Viola will sometimes inadvertently sneak up on people and scare them. This in turn scares Viola, and leads to some awkward situations.

Trinket: A silver fractal necklace, in the rough shape of this.

Appearance:

----- Regular: Trisha has ash blond, straight, neck-length hair. She has choppy bangs and two long strands hanging just in front of her ears that reach to chest level. Her eyes are brown, and her skin tone is peach with a few freckles, mostly around her shoulders. She dresses a bit more formally than most high-school students and has a particular fondness for sweatervests.

----- Transformed: Her two longer strands of hair grow to about waist-length. Her trinket transforms into a mass of tetrahedrons clustered around her neck, like some sort of polygonal scarf. She gains a dress with white detached sleeves, exposing her shoulders; the top itself is light blue and the skirt part is modelled after a Koch Snowflake and is coloured alternatingly dark blue, white, and light blue. Her shoes transform into knee-high boots. A monocle resembling a rifle sight appears over her left eye and an armour ring covers her right hand middle finger, tip extending past her fingernail.

Personality: Good phrases to describe Trisha with would be “overenthusiastic” and “kind of a nerd”. She’s really interested in science fiction and all the implications thereof, including how technology might develop in the future and the repercussions this might have on human society. Generally, she’s optimistic about all scientific advancements, but if you want to learn about her more specific views be prepared for a half-hour lecture.

When she’s not gushing about the mechanics of spaceships, she’s standoffish and doesn’t notice people much. She tends to be bluntly honest. If she disagrees with someone, then she disagrees with someone – she doesn’t see the point in sugarcoating anything.

Magical Abilities: Trisha’s abilities revolve around points in space, similar to a 3D Cartesian coordinate plane. To use most of them she has to first set up points by touching them with her armour ring. These points will stay in midair and glow as long as they’re active. They fade by themselves after a few minutes, but will also be destroyed if they’re attacked, used in one of her abilities, or if Trisha loses consciousness or transforms back.

- Shift: Trisha can teleport to one of her points. If it’s in the air she can hover there for a few seconds before the point disappears. She’ll only be able to jump a few metres at first, but her range will increase with practice.

- Linear slash: Directs a pulse of energy through two specified points, damaging anything it hits.

- Polygolem: By dragging her armoured finger between three or more points, Trisha can create solid 2- or 3-dimensional shapes and control them remotely. This will fail if the shapes contain any curved edges or sides, and she will tire herself out quickly if she tries to control shapes with too much total surface area at once. She usually uses these as quick makeshift shields or triangular shuriken, and they will shatter after one or two blows.

Background: Trisha was the only child in a relatively well-off family. She’s quite ordinary, really, with the exception of her interest in engineering and mechanics which started to show when she was seven. Her parents were confused (her mother was in business and her father was a lawyer and they had no idea how she got a hold of the things she took apart in the first place) but supportive, and encouraged her to do whatever she wanted. She picked up a neat necklace in a tiny jewelry shop on a summer vacation trip last year with her parents and discovered her powers the night they returned. She’s still not sure how to deal with this development, especially since it meant she was definitely not living in a sci-fi world.

Appearance:

----- Regular: This normal slim and rather frail looking schoolgirl looks ,with white blond hair that reaches to her waist, blue-green eyes and pale skin, like she just came in from Snowland. Her pale colour scheme makes her self-conscious and shy around those she doesn't know. Alva dresses to fit in but her pale hair is always noticed. Her comfiest outfit is a soft sweater with red-brown fox heads and some skinny jeans in dark colours. She is from Sweden, so even in Winter she can be found in light clothing but even she isn't impervious to the cold. Her school uniform is always tidy but she often fusses over it. She is about 5'7, with a small nose and average European eyes. Her pendant always lies in her left wrist, as she is left handed and wants it always within reach. She is very slim, with a small chest and small hips.

 

----- Transformed: Once transformed, she gains orange fox ears in a headband-like form and a 2 orange fluffy tails form out the back of her dress. Her dress is a simple layered skirt dress, with a tube-top like bodice similar to a gothic style dress. The dress is in yellow-orange, white and blue. The shoulders are bare but white sleeves loop around the upper arms and connects to the main section. The main part of the dress is blue, with white edges and the main tube-top section being yellow-orange. She has white knee length socks and small black shoes. Her eyes become slightly slanted and sly looking, while she gains whiskers on her cheeks. Her hair grows longer and forms two long pigtails topped with white bows, as well as gaining some red and orange-y streaks. Her hands for claws and she has a few foxy traits. She seems to develop more but still retains her slim and lean physique.

 

Personality: Alva Hjort is a very strong and able girl, having taken care of her disabled mother since she was 7. She is very money-conscious, as well as quiet and shy among strangers. She never seemed to fit in a particular niche but hopes the move to this new town from Sweden will help her. She feels very self-conscious and was always quiet, inciting bullying against her. However, she is very cunning and sly, as well as being smart with both education and street smarts. She is a very giving and generous person but finds herself giving up too much to make others happy, maybe showing that she has a slight inferiority complex and lower self esteem. However, once she likes someone, her friendship is absolute! She loves her friends and would do anything for them. She is very quirky and kinda strange among friends, and loves cracking bad jokes.

 

Magical Abilities:

Fox step: Using fox-like flexibility and stealth, she can use this ability to jump and stalk an enemy while not giving away her position. She can also jump higher and land better using this ability.

Fox traits: She gains many fox-like traits, such as enhanced hearing, smell and night vision. She also cannot see the colour blue when transformed. She also gains fox like flexibility and agility.

Foxfire: Alva can summon small blue flames that look like will'o wisps that can be thrown or held in hand as a weapon. She can create up to 10 at a time and when they disperse she can create more. However, if she makes too many, colour begins to fade out of her trinket and her clothes, like she is running out of 'battery', if you will.

Shapeshift: Under dire circumstances, she can transform into a fox form to escape an enemy or to help others. However, if she is in the form too long, she cannot transform back until the sun rises.

 

Background: Alva Hjort was a normal child, until at age 13 her family was torn into shreds by her father. Her father attempted to murder his wife and thinking he had, left. He left her mother with reduced metal capabilities and Alva on her own. She received support until she was 14, when they cut funding to the disability department. Since then, Alva has worked odd jobs to keep everything running and using the savings her family had left plus what far away aunts and uncles could afford to send. The government still sent a worker every 3 days to check up on her though.

When she was 14, she found a small little antique store that just popped up in a single day. She explored the hidden niches of the shop and then found the shoplady, a small and homely looking grandma who sat making small carved figurines of foxes. As she looked around, she noticed everything had a fox shaped carving on it somewhere. The old lady had looked at her, sizing her up and then motioned towards a table with 4 pendants and told her choose one. She chose the fox pendant and when she later came back, the store had mysteriously disappeared and no one even remembered it.

She discovered her powers but doesn't know exactly why she has them. She guesses it's in relation to the murders though.

 

Misc.: Dogs are her greatest fear when she transformed, as well as water as it pains her fire-geared soul transformation. Also, she fears rejection for her choice of sexuality (bisexual/pansexual) so would only ever reveal something like that to someone she trusted absolutely.

Trinket:  A small charm of oak leaves blowing in a spiral wind, with one green, one orange and one red leaf. The wind spiral is a mixture of gold and blue. She attaches it to a bracelet or her necklace whenever she goes anywhere.

 

Appearance:

----- Regular: Tall and rather willowy, Ayla is an enthusiastic person. She has long black hair that she has never cut, at the behest of her brother, which she usually keeps in a long braid. While being a very feminine shaped senior, she is a tomboy through and through. She often wears plain black jeans and normal shirts with unique or obscure logos on the fronts. As she absolutely hates the cold, she has her trusty rust-red leather jacket on hand at all times.

 

 

----- Transformed: When she transforms, her outfit matches her cultural background. Her outfit changes into a black belly dancing outfit, with red oak leaves on the edges and when she moves, they seem to blow in the wind. The outfit is a two piece, with the top half being a black tube top with a bell in the middle. The bottom half magically never slips down too far and is an ankle length flowing skirt and the top seam is lined with golden beads and bells. She is barefoot when she transforms, with her oak leaf charm on her right ankle and her hair unravels to reach just above her feet. Like this.

 

Personality:  She is very bubbly but matures down very easily despite this. She loves her friends to bits and would do anything for them. She often doesn't think about her actions very deeply but has a very strong moral compass that allows her to move on in life and she is fiercely protective of those younger than her. She absolutely hates bullies and has been known to drive off bullies, before helping the victims through school.

 

Magical Abilities: Her main abilities link to her dancing and wind abilities.

As with all the magical girls/boys, she has enhanced jump/strength but she also has excellent rhythm and teamwork capabilities, as well as really good stamina.

 

1. Rhythm Wind: When using this she uses her feet to create a rhythm which guides the wind to help her and she can create whirlwinds and blasting winds using this technique.

2. Tempo: In this, she uses the fast beats of her dance in order to rile the wind up, sometimes sharpening or hardening the wind to strike her foes.

3. Leaf Pulse: In this final move, she can use the wind to control 3 oak leaves (green, orange and red) that are sharpened and then use them to attack.

The movements of her hands, arms and feet control the winds' direction, almost like a very complicated puppet.

Background: Born into a very large family of high needs children, she was often neglected, not physically but emotionally. Her parents had no time for her, so she filled her days with dancing and playing amongst the oak trees. She loved listening to the howling wind at night, it made her at peace. However, when was 12, a devastating blow was dealt to her. Her older brother Altan died while exploring a cave while she waited outside and she has never fully forgiven herself for it.

As she grew older and her family moved to a new place, far away from their native Turkey, she knew things were changing. On her 15th birthday, she awoke to discover a small glass box on her nightstand which contained a pendant of blowing oak leaves. She found the pendant helped her feel lighter, especially when dancing and then discovered exactly what it id. She knows that sooner or later, the cause of the mysterious disappearances and murders would eventually catch up with them all.

Misc.: She is deathly afraid of cave, having had her brother die inside one as a child.

Name:  Raymond (Ray) Fenn

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Trinket: A small flashlight with a black strap to wear around your neck. The button to turn it on is black, the rest of it is composed of semi-transparent plastic that has sparkles mixed in with it.

Appearance:

----- Regular: Raymond’s hair is black and kept short. His eyes are a bright emerald green. His attire is usually composed of t-shirts and shorts, occasionally an unzipped hoodie and jeans on colder days. He typically has his flashlight around his neck under his shirt or in his pocket. His height is average for his age and his build gives off the appearance of an active individual. He also has a volleyball jersey that he wears on occasion but for the most part it is reserved for games.

----- Transformed:  When Raymond transforms his hair grows to be longer, to the point where it covered his ears and his bangs can hang down over his eyes. His hair colour changes to What looks like platinum blond most of the time, except when it catches light at certain angles the light is refracted into its different colours. The sclera of his eyes become black and his irises become white, which always seem to glow. His clothing in his magical form comprise of a dress shirt that appears to be composed of sparkles paired with a black waistcoat on top of that. The left side of his pants is black above the knees and sparkles below the knee while the right side of his pants are the opposite. His left shoe finishes the pattern on that side while his right shoe finishes it on the other; they appear to be modelled after a pair of dress shoes with a slight heel. He wears his flashlight around his neck. He also sports a black top hat with a white ribbon around the top. It is typically tilted to the right and will not come off unless he himself takes it off.

Personality: Ray is not your typical jock character. He is one of the more popular kids due to his success on the volleyball team but he wouldn’t exactly call many of the other popular kids friends, so much as people he sat with. The volleyball team itself is a group of close friends, as over the years many of the same people had made the team. It is hard to find one member without another member nearby. Around his fiends he takes on their joking attitude. He does display a calm that some of his friends lack and is more observant than given credit for. When he is in his magical form he keeps his typical morals but in fights he may act like a magician on stage performing. This would include things like declaring his first move in a fight as the first trick, or his final move as his finale.

 

Magical Abilities: His powers are based on light because of this, hiding in the dark isn’t exactly something he is always capable of.

 

Luminescence- He can glow to a varying degree, the brighter he is the harder it is to sustain. This is the most basic of his magical capabilities.

Flash- This is a bright flash of light much like the flash on a camera. Its only purpose would be for an attempt to momentarily blind. It takes a sudden burst of energy, so there is a bit of a cool down time between each flash.

Suspension- He can make orbs of light that hang in the air. Creating the lanterns can be challenging at first; as he gets better he will be able to have numerous lanterns hanging around. If he keeps the ball in his hand rather than releasing it, it can be “carried” by him. He can put them out remotely, or they may go out on their own if they have been hanging for too long.

Explosion- This skill branches off of suspension. Instead of fading away or going out the lanterns can explode.

Lasers- This one is pretty self explanatory. He can bend light in a way that produces a laser. The lasers require some time to charge. Lower charging times result in smaller and weaker lasers.

Refraction- By bending the light around him he can cause things to appear differently than they are. He could make him appear closer or farther away or shifted to one side. He could theoretically bend the light around him to make it look like he wasn’t there but to make it look believable it would require a keen sense of his surroundings and a great deal of concentration; making himself appear invisible would be near impossible without giving signs that the light is being bent around him.

 

Background:  Raymond’s childhood is pretty standard. He has an older sister, Catherine, by four years. He discovered volleyball in P.E. and came to love it. He tried out for the teams every year he could and made it in the team each year.

In the beginning of his teenage years he had come to realize that he was homosexual. He came out to his parents and sister when he was 14. His family accepted him and he came out to the volleyball team and his closest firmed afterwards. The team, although awkward about it at first, accepted him. Some of the other fiends he told began to distance themselves form him, although they do still share some friends. He hasn’t told anyone else but seeing as they are in high school word has a way of getting around.

He found his flashlight during this last summer when his family had gone on a camping trip. Someone walking in front of him and dropped the flashlight without noticing. He picked it up, meaning to return it to the lady who dropped it, something stopped him at the last second. The flashlight felt important for some inexplicable reason that led him to keep it. He has not yet discovered any of its powers but he does find it odd how he feels safest when it is in his possession.

 

 

Misc.: When he discovers his powers he will be able to glow in the dark when not in his magical form. He can only glow about as bright as a glow-stick which would serve no practical purpose other than giving himself away.

Name:  Anne Saxon

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Trinket: A bat plush

Appearance:

----- Regular: Anne has long, dark, curly hair. In an attempt to tame her unruly locks (Which refuse to be straightened and quickly return to their original form), she employs the use of a long braid. Her eyes are dark brown and she has a bit of a rounder face. She's slightly taller than average for her age and has small, petit hands and feet. She usually wears skirts with short sleeved button shirts or sweaters. She wears several types of accessories, usually being hairbands with bows on them to help tame her hair just a little more.

----- Transformed: Anne's dark, curly hair is turned purple, though it maintains its wild curls. Anything holding her hair back is broken off, allowing her hair to freely fly around her. Her brown eyes turn yellow as well. Anything she is wearing is replaced by a blue shirt and matching skirt.

The shirt has medium-length sleeves that puff out near the ends and at the shoulders. Black gloves move from where her shirt and end in slight points like claws. The neck of her shirt has a white ruffle to it it and has two large openings in the back.

The skirt is slightly puffy with a white ruffle underneath. She has black tights under the skirt and a pair of blue shoes.

In addition to her the basic outfit, Anne gains several bat-like traits. The most notable are a pair of large wings that sprout from her shoulders. The wings have large, red claws that can act like a secondary pair of hands. She also gains are pair of large, bat-like ears and large fangs where her canine teeth should be. When her shoes are removed, her feet are revealed to have transformed into black, bat-like feet capable of cutting with red nails similar to those on her wings and able to hold her weight so she can hand upside-down from objects. When her wings are not in use, she uses her red claws to hold them in place around her, causing them to resemble a cape. Her ears can also flatten against her head, allowing them to not be seen very well and also protect them from louder sounds (To a limited extent). She carries several things with her in a small bag including a black blindfold for herself (She does not rely on her vision and often wears it to prevent herself form being injured by light-based attacks) and a muzzle (To prevent herself from accidentally biting people)

 

Personality:

Regular: Anne is rather confident and flirty. That being said, she is flirty with everyone and never actually expects a response. She's easily confused (By things like calculus and taxes) and isn't against asking others for help. Despite her playful flirting, it is just that; playful. She's very empathetic with people and also highly sarcastic.

 

Transformed:

While transformed, Anne rarely speaks. In fact, the noises she makes are usually just for determining where her surroundings are with echolocation. She's very quizzical but lacks empathy towards humans, instead only viewing them like cattle or irritating distractions. Oddly enough, other magical girls do register as people and she is still empathetic towards them. She's still easily confused and tends to have a one-track mind.

 

Magical Abilities:

 

-Vampire's Bite/Bloodlust: Anne can bite people and drink their blood. This acts as a power-up for her and can restore her strength, as well as heal smaller injuries. In addition, when drinking blood, she becomes overwhelmed by the urge to consume more of it. This only works with human targets.

 

-"Bat/vampire Abilities": Anne gains the stereotypical power of a variety of bat species. This includes flight, echolocation and enhanced smell. However, this also limits her sight to darkened places and makes light a dangerous enemy to her vision. She can fly with almost complete silence and has no reflection or shadow.

 

-Hypnosis: Anne, if allowed eye contact, can momentarily hypnotize her targets. It only works on humans and those who look into her eyes have difficulty breaking contact if she has started the hypnotism already. At least five seconds are required in which neither of them move. Hypnotized people simply fall asleep and cannot be compelled to do any actions or anything against their will. She relies on attention and likes when people notice her. When left alone, she starts to gather doubts about herself.

 

-Transformation: Anne can transform completely into a bat. It is about the size of a small dog. It is the only transformation she can use and can transform only when first in her magical girl form (Aka, she cannot go right from her regular form to a bat or vice versa.)

 

Background:  Anne used to call London her home until her parents followed work into the States when she was 14. Since then, she's been jumping from city to city as her father's business instructs their family to move different places. Finally, at the start of the school year, they settled in the current town. Anne quickly worked her way into a few friend circles and quickly made friends, partially due to most American's obsession with her accent.

She found the bat plush in an alleyway and, after a good washing, decided to keep it. She accidentally kept it in her back pack for a few months then continued to keep it with her at all times when she discovered it's hidden powers.

Misc.: Sound and light based attacks are ideal against her. Fire, being that it is a source of light, is also highly dangerous. Her nose is also highly sensitive so garlic and other foul-smelling things can be used briefly against her, but this only works for a brief time. It is difficult for her to function properly in the daylight. She is prone to fainting after transforming back and usually forgets some parts of what happens while she is transformed.

Trinket: An amber teardrop pendant on a fine silver and gold weave chain.

 

Appearance:

 

----- Regular: An average, underdeveloped (in her opinion) schoolgirl with pale blue eyes and short blonde hair, Helena dresses to hide herself - to blend in with the crowd. Her school uniform is neither too crumpled or too tidy. Outside of school days, she's just a typical teenager, T-shirt and jeans in the summer - the addition of a jacket over long sleeves in winter. The pendant is always hidden under her top.

 

----- Transformed: The amber pendant takes the central focus of her Magical form. It rests on her clavicle held in a silver and gold starburst decal over a dark blue gown. Her eyes darken to near black, her hair now flows down to her mid-back with what appears to be glitter covering it.

 

Personality: Helena has two aspects to her personality, it seems to be linked to the pendant that she now wears.

 

She had always been a quiet girl, never drawing attention to herself but now she seems completely withdrawn into herself.

Almost as if something had drained her sense of self-worth. That is until she transforms - the magical girl she becomes is a bold, confident version of herself.

 

Magical Abilities: The pendant is a conduit for an otherworldly spirit/power, which grants Helena what most would call 'a sixth sense'. Her awareness of her surroundings becomes heightened to a point that its as if she can predict what the immediate future holds.

 

Its not completely fool proof - she can only read possibilities based on her immediate surroundings. She can't, for example, know that an assassination attempt will be made in a weeks time at a diplomatic convention. Unless of course she actually overhears someone planning it.

 

Along with the heightened awareness, comes an ability to change the likely outcome of a sequence of events in a small way. Of course, she can only hope that the change is a beneficial one.

 

Taking the earlier example of the assassination attempt, Helena could set something up to reflect light in such a way as to blind the sniper as he takes his shot.

 

Best outcome: He misses entirely and gets caught. Plan is foiled.

Likely outcome: Plan is only delayed, due to needing a quick get away after missing.

Worst outcome: Sniper hits an innocent bystander.

 

Fate is after all a very fickle thing to mess with.....

 

Background: Helena had a very ordinary life, up til her last birthday. She woke up to find a small parcel beside her bed. That in itself wasn't odd, some presents were left on her nightstand in the past. No, what was odd was that this one had only her name on it - with no indication of who it was from. And her parents didn't acknowledge they'd left anything there for her when she'd thanked them for the pendant.

 

Then the pendant's power revealed itself... and her life hasn't been the same since. Or her personality.... that wasn't the pendants fault - it actually saved her from a shadowy being from feeding on her life-force. But part of the damage had already been done - it is unknown whether it is reversible or not.

 

Misc.: The bigger the change Helena tries to make, the more draining it is. The drain on the pendant's power translates into tarnish on its chain. It can recharge - but requires a visible full moon to do so. If the chain completely tarnishes, the pendant is rendered useless and may even break under strain.

Anyway, Helena is tentatively Accepted. We'll have to talk over PM to make this whole future-seeing business work, but I like the idea.

Also, just to add: while some small skills might "leak through" and are able to be used in civilian form (such as Tammy's ability to talk to cats), the majority of special abilities are only able to be used in magical form.

 

Effectively, a magical warrior could be neutralized by simply knocking away their trinket before they can transform.

Trinket: A pair of gloves, with a strange pattern on them, an azure-coloured circuit.

Appearance:

----- Regular: Kevin is a rather short boy, maybe 5'4, although he keeps telling everyone his growth spurt will happen soon. He tends keep his blonde hair spiked up, his way of defying his teachers. He either wears plain t-shirts, or shirts with his favourite bands logos. He likes to wear shorts in the summer, and jeans for the colder months.

----- Transformed: Despite maybe growing an inch or two, he undergoes a more drastic transformation. His blue eyes develop green 'circuits', visible from the the iris. His hair colour becomes a bit dark, with neon green streaks ending in white tips. However, you'll have to pull off his headgear to see that. The headgear itself is rather unique. Since he doesn't show any emotions when transformed, he showcases various 'emoticons' in the front when he speaks. The helmet also comes with a randomize voice changer, which gives the impression multiple people are speaking the same words. So in other words, the outside viewer only see a white dome with two yellow slits for 'eyes', and an image of an emoticon when its relevant.

The rest of the costume is less impressive, the gloves become almost like a second skin, the circuit-like patterns expand to his upper arms. His clothing just consists of a snug black shirt and pants, with a tattered shoulder-cloak hanging near his back.

Personality: Kevin's is a rather normal boy, he likes sports and teasing his friends. Naturally, he's experiencing puberty, as a result his interactions with girls his age can vary wildly. It tends to range from non-existent, to mildly awkward, to being rather 'tsundere' to just him being an idiot. Other then that, he's just a rather normal kid with a guilty pleasure... he likes to knit.

When Transformed, his personality shifts massively. Any emotions are suppressed, logic becomes the dominate factor in any decision making. His more... pragmatic and darker tendencies show when transformed. He doesn't care if a dozen innocents lose their lives, so long as a hundred more are saved. He is also prone to petty thievery, considering it his 'due' from a society of organics for bothering to saving them. As such, his mannerisms come dangerously close to being an Übermensch. Despite all that, he still fights the evil that plagues his city, because no one else is able too. At the end of the day, He still tries to do good, but his morals become a bit looser.

Magical Abilities: Kevin's abilities revolve around Technomagic, as such he can replicate or mimic technology via magic. However, he is rather new at the whole 'magic warrior' thing, so he's a novice with his abilities. He likes to think of his abilities as Firmware updates, as such he considers his skill level '1.0'

When transformed, his mind undergoes a massive overall, thus allowing him to become an organic computer. This allows him to use his eyes to 'scan' various places and people, and plan accordingly. He can also intercept various transmissions, and can even send some back should the need arise.

He isn't without any means to defend himself, considering he can manipulate technology and even possess small machines. Anything larger then a router and he'll suffer electronic backlash. His favourite means of attack is summoning swarms of tiny robots, or nanites to fight for him. If the going gets tough, he can try to build 'golems' with materials around. Although even a small one is a big risk, since he can 'overheat' and risk going unconscious as a result. Hell, even a well-worded logical paradox can leave him wide open.

Background: Kevin grew up with his grandparents for most of his life, his mother just left his father not long after he was born. Whether it was Post-partum depression, or simply not wanting to be a mother, he didn't know. As such, his father was more driven to be successful in the work place, hoping to give him a good life. Since he was never home, Kevin was pretty much raised by his grandparents. As a young kid, he got into a lot of fights with bullies, and was labelled a problem child as a result of his fights.

Middle school was an easier time, he calmed down enough to focus on his school work and relationships with classmates. On the outset of his thirteen birthday, he found a pair of gloves in the attic. Thinking they looked cool, he simply placed them on and began to wear them every day. It was then soon after he experience 'transcendence' for the first time.

Misc.: When Transformed, he refers himself in the third person. I.E 'We' 'Us' 'Our' 'The Legion'

 

In other words, I'm setting him up to be a minor villain/rival/sixth-ranger

TBH, first thing that came to mind was Tron, then Daft Punk. I will be sorely disappointed if Kevin doesn't own a Daft Punk shirt. tongue.gif

 

In this modern world of smartphones and small handheld devices, Kevin will have a blast -- if robots are able to have that kind of fun, at least. Accepted!

Trinket: Two earrings with red gems on the ends. The trinket is the combined earrings so if one is missing, he cannot transform. The gems seem to resemble the ones that adorn his outfit after his transformation.

Appearance:

----- Regular:

Jack has slightly long blonde hair and large grey-blue eyes. He has slightly rounder facial features and usually wears expensive clothing picked out by his parents. When around them, his hair is also gelled back but he hates it and immediately messes it up as soon as he's away from them.

 

----- Transformed:

Jack has a surprisingly 'girly' transformation. His hair grows considerably and is now held by a long, thin braid. Whatever street clothing he wears is transformed into a red, short dress with two sets of straps-one that goes over his shoulders and one that hangs down over his arms. The red dress ruffles out at the bottom in a gradient pattern, starting out dark and then fading to the color of the furry scarf around his neck. The scarf is adorned with three red pendants, similar to the one placed in the center of his dress. The dress is completed by long, black socks that rise up to just where the ruffles end above his knees. Similar to the scarf around his neck, he has a pair of red boots with fur around the top. The boots have high heels, making it difficult for Jack to walk around. The final touch to the outfit is a pair of red gloves with orange trim and red gems on the top. Due to the fact he is young, it is not difficult to think that Jack while transformed is actually a girl. It is only when he transforms back that it is obvious he is really a boy.

Personality: Jack is a generally bubbly soul with a carefree spirit. He is very passionate about topics that interest him and ends up more often than not getting into debates about trivial things. He isn't used to staying quiet or anything having to do with silence and is usually one of the loudest, most outspoken people in a room.

When transformed, his passion and happiness intensify while the rest of his emotions are dampened. He tends to always smile and lacks empathy towards other people or the general ability to understand what they are feeling. This makes him slightly psychopathic as he automatically assumes if he enjoys something, everyone else will. He's also slightly reckless in this form and finds nothing wrong with setting miscellaneous fires.

Magical Abilities:

Pyrokinesis

-Fire immunity: Jack has a general immunity to flames and cannot be hurt by flames or heat. This means, however, the cold and water are dangerous to him in his transformed state.

-Flight: Using fire specifically blasted from his hands or feet, he can awkwardly fly. He's not very good at this at this point.

-Fire manipulation: General control over flames, the ability to conjure it or control it.

Background: Jack was born the only child to busy but very wealthy parents. They didn't have time to care for him and usually left his care to a nanny. He bonded well with his nanny while his parents were away and while he always tried to impress them when they were actually around, they rarely gave him the time of day. Over the years, Jack became obsessed with fire and enjoyed setting fire to random objects. But he's always managed to control himself and avoid hurting people.

He found his trinket when his dad returned from an overseas trip. It was also Jack's birthday when he returned and he ended up making up an excuse and giving him an old box he had been given as a present. Jack ended up discovering the box had a secret drawer in the bottom that contained the earrings. Since he already had his ears pierced at this point, he simply began wearing the earrings.

Misc.: While transformed, water is his greatest weakness. Not only will it prevent him from creating fires, it also hurts him and can give him 'burns' like acid.

Trinket: Her trinket is a necklace in the form of a silver three-pointed infinity symbol. The points have the meaning of: birth, live and death. And it was a symbol used by druïds for infinity. (Triquetra Symbol)

Appearance:

----- Regular: She is a tanned blue-eyed black haired girl. she always kept her hair short because it was just in the way and would quickly get frizzy. And she likes to wear comfortable clothes, that means anything she can grab from the wardrobes. She mainly likes to wear jeans, sneakers, a shirt and a vest. That is often just because not many things fit her with a hight of 1,78 m.

----- Transformed: Her hair becomes long and white with ten silver locks, and is kept in a bun ponytail at the side of her head with two locks at the side of her face. While the hair almost reaches the floor it will never get in the way or tangled. Her eyes turn from blue to a white silver and her skin gets paler almost if she is silver herself. The top part is a white beige tube-top with the upper point of the symbol going between her breasts and almost reaching her neck. It is hold up by a small chain around her neck that looks like that from her necklace. The two other points go down alongside her hips, leaving the middle and connection point on her belly. The sleeves are silver and are only loosely connected at the top of the tube-top and the wrists with a slit in the middle of the sleeve. Around the wrists there are two more symbols with a small chain, making the connection with the sleeves. The skirt part is rather simple in comparison and is made of layers of silver and beige white fabric. It is very short though. The knee-high boots are silver with the tops flipped back in a beige white colour. You would think she would reflect the sunlight everywhere with all that silver, but magically it does not.

Personality: She is quite grumpy and doesn't like to be in the spotlight, she mostly thinks she is too boring. She always felt tired and didn't want to be bothered with anything. She likes calm places where she can just feel like reaching everything. (when she explains she doesn't know what it means either.) After finding the necklace it didn't change much. Just that she feels more alive and wants to be with people and plants. She is also a bit skeptical about the whole 'change into a magical girl and save the world' thing.

Magical Abilities: Since the symbol means Birth live and death it will be based on that with plants. The powerful ones are very limited.

 

Birth-With this one she can flick little seeds as bombs and grow plants/vines to ensnare enemies. Making a path without trouble on the way. The vines are quite sturdy but it will cost her one of her silver locks. Also the right down point of her symbol starts to get a shine over it when she uses it.

 

Live-With this one she can grow big flowers with a lot of pollen. This usually is a sleeping powder but sometimes the flowers can be more deadly like snapping something up. If she wants it to be more deadly then one of her silver strands dissapear. When using this ability the top point gets a shine over it.

 

Death-Is her shield and so she can make a barrier out of thorny plants, they are difficult to take down but also to grow. It will grow on a rather broad area able to protect more than one person. put this will also cost a silver strand. If she wants to make the thorns poisonous or life draining than it will cost another one. When using this power the bottom left point gets a shine.

 

Symbol- She can use the two symbols on her wrists as ninja stars. These will leave evidence of her being there and only come back after transforming again.

 

Hair lock- this is the count for how many times she can use powerfull attacks. The locks are returned when she transforms again. She ca get more locks but for that she has to be able to do a battle perfectly. Wich is very difficult to do.

 

Background: She lives a normal everyday live. Going to school, homework, preparing for exams, chores and freetime. Never thinking she is different from anybody else. Being boring even. Except from her hobby, wich is collecting necklaces. The more necklaces she has the happier she is, especially after knowing where it comes from. Wich she always finds out after a lot of research.

 

After a normal day of school she found a new shop. Going inside she found a lot of little trinkets and fell in love with another necklace. Taking it home she wanted to find out immediatly where it came from. But she came up with nothing but it being a druïds symbol. And she felt a weird urge she never had before with other necklaces. That was to wear it. So she did, and she never felt any better or worse, just full of energy.

 

Not long after she noticed another shop called dreamcatcher, on the same street as her house. She doesn't remember it being built but she doesn't doubt it.

She still doesn't know that she can transform, just that she has more energy and feels more calm near greenery.

Misc.: With only wearing her necklace she can take very well care of any plant but as soon as she takes it off than she is horrible at it. I think she is the oldest for now and I hope that dreamcatcher house thingy is alright.

Jack is Accepted! on the condition that we find him a suitable last name. Come to think of it, a water user would be perfect for keeping half the magicals in line -- threatening to short-ciruit Kevin, to melt Jack like the Wicked Witch of the West, or to make Tammy one grumpy cat.

 

Lydia is Pending. I am not sure how her ability works, and both the Life and Death abilities seem too broad. In my opinion, it would be interesting if you focused on your plant example, rather than "any" living thing: I have no problem with Lydia growing plants and nourishing the land with her touch, and to have her powers limited there. Or, you could go all the way with her communion with spirits -- being able to channel them through her to use spooky ghost powers, even (but I am shaky on her passive ability to see ghosts in her civilian form). This would eliminate the need for the Birth skill, which refills her ability count, from what I understand.

 

Although, if you prefer to keep the theme of Birth, Life, and Death going, you could always have individual attacks related to them instead of full abilities for each. Like the plant example -- growing plants (birth), blossoming them or using them for attack (life), and using dried flowers or thorns to drain lifeforce (death).

 

Other than that, the rest looks fine (I don't mind Lydia living close to the Dreamcatcher). It's alright if characters look similar; it happens sometimes and differences can be emphasized through detailed descriptions. Don't worry about it.

I'll be writing up the intro post soon, but we probably won't start until Thursday or Friday. I actually chose a bad time to start a RP because exams are coming up, but this was a great idea I didn't want to go to waste. X3

 

Two announcements:

1. Would everyone want to start with a regular school day for a bit of socialization with our characters, or rather start at night with a battle?

2. I expect you to milk transformation scenes for all their worth and describe every sparkle involved in the transformation. That's the secret requirement to this RP. (or i could write it for you but it will take ages i mean yeah but it will be awesome)

I edited my form, and I don't mind wich one we start with. I just think that for their first 1 or 3 battles they wouldn't be great at it, since ther have to learn and all. I also got a lame transformation line in my head.

If we start with a large battle - it would almost imply the characters are aware of the others existence (even if they don't actually know identities).....

I didn't expect you to follow my plant example, but it all checks out now. Lydia is Accepted! I'm envisioning some accidental combos involving her thorns and Jack's fire. There's a lot of room to be creative, and I might PM you to ask you to place a vine here or there. cool.gif

 

Anyway, let me list a little information about battle and school:

 

School: It's of a more subtle beginning -- starting at lunch hour or whatever class. The fight will happen afterwards that night.

  • Everyone goes to the same school, and some people may already know each other.
  • At first, they aren't even sure if there are others, and would start wondering about people who carry good-luck charms.
  • Some more observant characters will start to have a suspicions about who might be magical warriors, though they might be really, really wrong.
  • It's likely that the cat will be let out of the bag pretty quick thanks to somebody's slip-up, but now they know they aren't alone. New friendships or rivalries will form among some people (even though everyone will meet later on)
  • It's a good time to bust out those NPCs~

Fight: The really in-your-face thing. The short guessing game of who's who goes into the next day.

  • The fight is optional -- you can choose to have a smaller, personal battle, or not fight at all.
  • It will be a large-scale battle, meaning that everyone who is able to fight can do so
  • Transformation scenes!
  • Those who haven't completely unlocked their powers can do so and join the action, or not.
  • Again, each character thinks they're alone until they see other magical warriors fighting as well.
  • This might encourage some of them to find out their true identities the next day at school.
  • (Or if someone loses enough energy and reverts back to their normal form, their identity becomes pretty clear, I guess.)

Trinket: A plain wooden Ouija board planchette. She keeps it threaded on a string and wears it like a pendant.

Appearance:

----- Regular: Viola has mid-length to long dark brown hair and brown eyes. She usually keeps her hair in low bunches. Her go-to outfit is a t-shirt, leggings, sneakers, and a hoodie, adding a scarf if required. She's average height, though a bit on the skinny side.

----- Transformed: When transformed, Viola's hair is let down and becomes longer and wilder, changing from brown to a dark purple-black. It almost seems to move on its own, like it's being rustled by some imaginary wind. Somehow, a violet satin ribbon is tied to the back of her head. Her skin becomes ghostly pale and her irises turn bright red. The string that holds her trinket becomes a proper silver chain. Her clothing transforms into a long black gown that seems to almost fade away at the edges. The back of the skirt is somewhat longer than the front, revealing the violet inside of the material whenever Viola levitates. A mauve scarf is tied around her waist like a belt. Her hands are covered by flared sleeves with tattered edges. In summary, she pretty much looks like some kind of ghost-type pokemon gijinka.

Personality: When around people she's familiar with, Viola is an average girl: friendly and generally a nice person. Plop her in front of someone new, and she will instantly become incredibly timid and shy. She gets worked up over small details, and often finds it hard to make serious decisions on the fly. In addition to this, she is easily scared. When Transformed, she is carefree and mischievous. When in this state, she can get a little too rash and not think about the consequences of her actions. She will inevitably regret said decisions after becoming normal.

Magical Abilities: Viola's powers are all ghost themed. As she is still a rookie at this, her powers aren't quite refined yet.

-Invisibility: Self-explanatory. If she starts to forget the fact that she's invisible, she'll end up translucent.

-Levitation: Again, self-explanatory. She's not really fast at it though.

-Intangibility: The ability to phase through solid substances. If she's not careful, she might leave ectoplasm trails when she phases through walls and the like. Also, she'll still be hit by non-physical attacks.

-Possession: She can only possess objects. When possessing an object, she can either make it levitate or imbibe it with spectral energy. For now, she only has the energy to do one or the other, so if she possessed a potted cactus, she couldn't fly around and shoot needles at people- she'd either just fling herself at the target or have someone hold her like a weapon. If her vassal breaks, she will spontaneously appear where it was, stunned for a moment.

Background: Viola has a pretty good life. She always has pocket money, and if she can't get something, she can always ask. Unfortunately, her parents would often argue over petty things, often right in front of her. While they would eventually make up and apologize, she knew that they would still argue behind her back. Eventually, when she was 11, her dad left. After that, she managed to live a relatively normal life with her mom. One day, when at a local garage sale, she noticed the heart-shaped chip nestled in a box full of random clutter. While she was spooked at first by the fact that it used to come from a board game used to summon ghosts, she just couldn't part with it. She ended up buying it and keeping it on her with a string, wearing it like a pendant.

Misc.: Even when not transformed, Viola will sometimes inadvertently sneak up on people and scare them. This in turn scares Viola, and leads to some awkward situations.

 

 

Potted cacti are dangerous. It is soo hard to take out those needles if you accidentally brush against one. Too bad I didn't think of making a water based magical girl :3
